Consumer Credit Counseling Service: what do users think?
Jason Gerding: Outstanding people, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Very helpful in times of hardship.
Marisa Jones: My experience with Senior Advisor Doug Watson was stellar. After arriving for my appointment with Doug, he walked me through all sorts of budgets and projected budgets. Twice I have used CCC for financial issues, and both times I have been assisted through difficult times with very good financial advice, a debt repayment plan and/or a printed file for sharing with my debt holders.CCC seemed to truly care, and even validated the beginnings of my financial woes back to a divorce where my ex “got the goldmine”, and my children and I got the “shaft” … I highly recommend anyone facing divorce or life change to first consult a financial advisor such as CCC. Thanks Doug!
Patty Goss: I visited catholic charities of southern mo. Gabby was awesome.
Marcus Baker: Such great people
Juliet De Vries-Kuhnert: In my opinion they aren't organized at all and they have no idea what they are actually doing from one day to the next. I went through them to get government CARES Act funding help for my rent and utilities, as I have been out of work and I'm not eligible for unemployment since September. But before my interview even started things were going badly. I was sent to the wrong place for my interview. The receptionist working at said building, didn't have anything to say to me except they are working at the main building today, not here. She didn't help me at all further. I had to ask for the phone number of the main building myself and then use my cell to call. I was able to get ahold of the receptionist at the Glenstone office. She said, "yes, we moved all appointments for today to this building." Great, thanks for letting me know. (Sarcasm) After agreeing to still see me since it wasn't my fault I was 30 minutes late, I finally got my interview. This was very time consuming and shouldn't have taken an hour, but it did. I was then rushed out with a "We'll take care of your rent and utilities for the last month that you are behind and pay the next month also." That was it. A month later, neither my rent or utilities are paid. I called to ask what was going on and I was told that even though it is a rental property, and I pay rent, just like everyone else that has rented here for the last 15 years, I wasn't going to have my rent paid since my brother was the owner of the property. Well, fine I guess. Not sure how he is supposed to pay his mortgage and insurance and such since I can't pay and you said you were, so I used all my available funds to pay other bills, but I understand. Utilities will still be payed for? Yes. Fast forward to last Friday, I get a disconnect notice from City utilities that says they're going to disconnect my service on Monday if my bill is not paid in full by the previous business day. I owe $467. Well what the heck?!! So they paid neither month of my utilities either??! Fantastic. What a joke. I had put my trust in these people and was believing that I was actually going to get help that I desperately needed. However, I am left with a sour taste in my mouth and wish I had gone to one of the other facilities that is distributing the money that is appropriated to people like me who need help with their rent and utilities due to covid-19. I in no way recommend consumer credit services in fact I would run as far as you could in the other direction, if you have any other choice.
Victoria Chapin: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWe met with Mark, and he explained things in ways we'd never heard before. He was professional, but personable, and made us feel comfortable throughout the process. (Oftentimes I feel these places shame you, but we did not feel that here!) We truly appreciated his time and attention to our needs. Highly recommend.
Jennifer Markunas: It was a complete waste of money. Paid $50 for him to tell me I need to cut $300+ from my budget.(I already knew that, which was why I was doing a debt consolidation.) He could not even consolidate the debts that were causing the biggest issues. Plus, some things he told me weren't even true about bankruptcy. They care more the debt collectors than your best interests.
