gerald c: I lived there for a while. Not a good memory. High staff turnover, the social worker was not a nice person. Rather hateful actually. Some of the other workers were really nice. No privacy. Salvation Army people could be overbearing. If I had to do it over again I would stay on the street.
Geoff klinkerfuss: Some of the staff are burned out. Been doing it a long time.
Gary C: The place is great but keep a sharp eye on your belongings as there are many who will steal from you.
Douglas Hon: The best

Johnny Mcdowell: A hand up for the fallen. The lead monitor is as demanding as he is supportive. Instills good habits and focused recovery. I can't say enough about the help they've been to me. Thanks, guys ! I'll never forget.
scott bryda: Watch out for secret agendas
Jessica Lane: Only ever go here for free lunches .. because I been homeless a time or two. But everyone I've encountered here has been nice an welcoming here❣️

He really enhanced the experience, and being a retired Air Force pilot I enjoyed the aviation items. There are many hands-on exhibits and I think you'll walk away with a positive experience. If I may suggest, then find the time to stop by and support them.

Daniel J: At first glance when you pull up, it looks like a sketchy strip mall with some gates on the windows. But press on past the scary outside and you'll find an amazing collection of WWII pieces, tons of models, medals, photos and the most amazing docents you've ever met. These guys spent an hour walking my kids through the jet and helicopter simulator, letting them push all the buttons amd asking a million questions. Bravo and salute to these heroes!Prices were about $16 for a family of four, best money I've spent in a long time! Amazing! Gem in the rough.
Brenda Burton: We made a special trip to Springfield to take our 14 year old grandson to this military museum. It was GREAT!! He loved every minute of it and we had a hard time getting him to leave. The Salvation Army Springfield: what do users think?
Mario Carr: Great place to find your home to the pathway of excellent deals
Suli Vzq: Discrimination
J Wingo: The Salvation Army has been a godsend for me and my family. Everyone in their staff has treated us like a welcomed family member. The programs for seniors are excellent.
becky givens: Thank Heaven for the Salvation Army feeding & housing people every day among other things😉
Mandy Garmon: They are always willing to help where they can! I have been a part of Salvation Army for several years! They help with rental assistance when they can, have a yearly toy drive for Christmas and also help with Thanksgiving baskets!
Carolann scovel: I have never been at salvation army so this will be my first time going
Run Ron: The Salvation Army is an amazing organization. But because if the abusive behavior of accredited staff member, I have to give this family center 1 star.I’m a man of God, passionate, and loving, and in my time of need, I was given a chance to stay here, but for some unknown reason, I was asked to leave the program, and then my property was given away to the clients there. Talk about kicking a person while they were down. I just don’t understand why Camille treated me like I did something wrong. I got a job, fed the residents, and did bible studies. I also worked for Salvation Army and created the Camp Mihaska Tourism video, just to show I know the Salvation Army. I’ve worked for them for years… and, unfortunately I’ve seen staff act this way because of some unknown reasons.Because I worked for Mission Gate Ministry for 4 years, and never could a person help another if they don’t care for themselves. I don’t know what it is, but I feel clients are unsafe… yes, unsafe around Camille.Camille threatened to call the cops, acted hostile and threatening. I am a gentle, amazing kind man… this was abuse and it is against human and civil rights to treat people who need help like this.Something has to happen, and I’m gonna start a petition and file a complaint I think. I’m contacting JG Wentworth!
ash lay: I called and told a lady who answered our stary and she was like one moment and then sends me to a voice mail like really.
Doug Kramer: Lost my considerable support with your wokeness, what a shame.
Starla Baker: They are a wonderful help to anyone struggling with poverty. Food pantry is excellent. They have other programs they can tell you about as well. Homeless friends should check them out. God bless you all.
Tiffany Humphries: I worked at the Family Enrichment Center for just a few months, long enough to realize just how little you are allowed to help those in need. I loved my job there, but eventually got let down enough to just walk away. I was lectured on numerous occasions for being too nice or as Michelle put it, having too much compassion. I was in trouble for speaking to residents like they were humans and not some lower lifeforms that needed to be ignored. I started there hoping to be able to help others get back on there feet and encourage them to do so, only to continuously be told not to talk to them, unless it was to get something for Michelle, or to get on to someone and treat them like misbehaving children... During my short time there I met numerous families in need, some didn't really want the help the program could provide, but others worked hard to get their situation improved. I had several thank me for being one of the monitors who didn't make their time there more sullen then it had to be, those were the days I will cherish. I walked away knowing I was doing the right thing. You can't help people if you aren't allowed to. For those who need the program, make sure it's only for a short time, don't expect the monitors to be friendly, because if they are, they get in a lot of trouble. When you get decent jobs, get out quick, or you will be paying an extremely outrageous occupancy fee (I've seen some over $1000) don't expect meals on the weekend, because they don't provide them, and dont be fooled into thinking they want to help you, because they aren't allowed to.
mark poret (maxp101): I went into the Salvation army core office today and asked if they could help me with a emergency issue that was caused by a mental health issue and was told come back later and asked what time and was told next week. They seemed like they were inconvenienced i was even there. I guess i interrupted there afternoon and not to mention the place was empty and I don't understand why someone couldn't have helped me or told me why not
Pacific North-Westerner: NOT A THRIFT STORE.
HUE's Reviews: Big store that is empty! There were a bunch of Christmas decorations in the front of the store and the electronics is split up i 3 areas. Back corner part of the front and in the front counter. The prices were extremely high for their electronics and there wasn't much as far as books or CD media. I might have gone in after a huge sale week. The opinions stated here are my own and not provided to me by the owner/operator of this establishment. My goal is to provide honest feedback on my experience, and encourage everyone to provide feedback on their experience. Your experience and opinion may differ based on a number of factors. No monetary compensation was received and I was not required to write a positive or negative review.
Natasha Lashley: Doesn't even deserve 1 star..Signed up for the Christmas program. Long story short the night before my scheduled pick up my baby got really really sick. I was up all night with her throwing up. Accidentally over slept and missed my scheduled pick up time. Called and explained the situation only to be told that unless if it was an emergency such as a house fire that there was nothing they could do for me. So now I have 3 kids whom won't have a Christmas this year not a Christmas meal.. Everyone falls on hard times and I didn't wanna have to reach out for help. But this here shows me why I don't.. Thanks a lot salvation army.. Nice to know how you truly work. Never again will I donate anything to any of your organizations!!
AshALeE E: I have seen the volunteers treat people that come here for diff needs just like family and they are so welcoming. Thanks for all the help you do
kurtes marshall: It's awesome
Jessica Williams: I think and in my time in need. The Salvation Army has done nothing but wonderful things for me and my family they have always help me when I’m in need of a little extra help. Special around the holidays. Thank you for be there for me. Great place great people
SHEMEKA MITCHELL: It helped my family in our time of need.
Patty Hon: didnt want to give them a star. awful place michelle, don and victoria run it like a prison. don even tried to hotline a parent for them giving their child a drink of coffee
Mom Ma: The only shelter in Springfield for families. Amazing people. Very helpful and clean.
