American Airlines Inc: what do users think?
John Ngo: I called multiple times and was hung up on mid conversation, within 1 minute of answering my call each time. I was trying to get a hold of customer service for being doubled charged for bags. This may have not been the right number to call, but this was the result of searching American Airlines customer service. Right when I asked about the double charge each person hung up on me right away. I believe it was a third party group. This is a shame that the customer care was addressed in such a poor manner. I fly with (SPRINGFIELD, MO) American Airlines all the time, and in person everyone has been great and friendly! However, the PHONE NUMBER associated with the link here seems to be another story when I called. This is the reason for my 1 star.
Heather C.: The Springfield American Airlines is a good group. I've generally encountered pleasant employees behind the check in counter.  I've seen very difficult customers in line and the employees have handled them easily. I can imagine other people losing their cool.At the gate, I've never had any trouble with the employees. They are generally very clear with their announcements and get us on the planes in an orderly fashion.My flights in and out of Springfield have differed, but who knows where the crews are based. That said, no flight attendant has ever shown me me anything but respect.Also, American is the most comfortable domestic airline. The seats have a few extra inches, which makes a nice difference. I can cross my legs. Can't beat that!
Janzaib M Baloch: Disrespectful and rude crew at the counters. Experienced in Dallas, Chicago and few regional airports.I did a flight time change and they confirmed and made me pay for it online. But they made me pay twice again on gate counters on my each stop. Really disappointing customer service. I would not recommend American Airlines.
Alex Hennis: The stewards seemed a bit embarrassed standing in front of everyone demonstrating the safety measures that no one seems to care about. It's far more interesting to watch them squirm up there. However, they transform into mask police. It scientifically amazes me how Covid takes a time out while you eat and drink. In other words, it's perfectly safe to pull it off to eat, but once that's over, it's dangerous. The mask needs to be put on. Kind of like Walmart wiping buggies down, but overlooking millions of dollars worth of merchandise. When will this game be over, and we can stop playing pretend?

They wouldn't even tell us why or negotiate with us.Super hero did their best to work with us while looking for another agency.I have flown on many flights with America airline. Is the best airline in the whole world.
becky Smith: We got to the SPRINGFIELD/Branson airport to check in our baggage, the desk said, we have you flying into Charlotte, then we only have room for one of you on the connecting flight to Keywest. So if you come back tomorrow, we will fly you all the way through. Or…. You can stay overnight at Charlotte and fly out to Keywest, the next day, your choice. My husband and I discussed it, returning to the same lady, two minutes later. She then says upon us deciding to go to Charlotte, “ you don’t have a flight booked to Charlotte, we have you going to Pensacola!”. I couldn’t believe my ears. I spent the next 30 minutes being lied to by her, the rest of the staff, when I demanded to talk to the many, he lied too. They ruined our vacation. We were supposed to be there, Saturday at 1:45 pm and finally got there at 10:30 PM SUNDAY! Had to hitchhike to our condo because the rental car place we booked, was closed. The trip back was ridiculous, but we Got home only two hours later than planned instead of 33 hrs later.The staff needs to be reprimanded for their dishonest behavior! They would not help us because I used Travelocity, but I had the agenda and was receiving text giving us updated on our flight. The staff refused us our flight, saying we didn’t have one, it was RIDICULOUSWe returned to the airport, an hour later, and pre checked our flight to get our tickets in hand, because we didn’t want to be bumped again! the next morning, they offered two passengers $900 to give up their seats for a different flight day.Shame on you! It was our HONEYMOON!They also tried to say we were late, it was our fault we missed our flight, we were there two hours early! The flight was late because of a storm. I was so upset by the time we left, I was ready to drive there! We would have got there faster!

Gloria Simpson: This was a scam number. They tried to tell me I booked through Expedia with a travel agent and wanted to first charge me an extra $325 to rebook my flight with my credit of $245. The fee is the same cost of the ticket currently online. I called him out and he changed it to $170 to rebook my flight with my credit because he claims it wasn’t purchased through American. I told him I bought it myself online with American and he said I was wrong. Haha. I had the emails in front of me from American. I found a legit 1-800 number for American and it was a legitimate rep who answered took care of me immediately through American and my total was $76 for my round trip flight. BEWARE OF USING THIS NUMBER.

Andrew Reichert: Waiting for an hour and still don't have my luggage. There is no one at the baggage claim office, no one at the counter, number listed is a San Antonio number, no way to contact an associate.

Alyssa Neal: We were running a little too close to comfort to catch our flight, but were able to walk straight in and get our luggage checked in and board. So simple. We have AA card so we skip the luggage fees!!!
Debbie Dunn: Had a snafoo with our Expedia reservation today and missed our original flight, which was taking us to our long awaited dream vacation. The front desk team at the Springfield airport were extremely friendly and helpful, making a bad situation far less stressful. Although the Expedia representative was rude, ignorant, and completely unhelpful, the American representative, Adrian, was kind and calm and extremely understanding of our frustration. She had us on another flight in a matter of minutes! Thank you, thank you American Airlines. You will be our first choice from now on — booking directly through you instead of Expedia!
