Brittany Dudley: They are actually concerned about you and make all people feel comfortable, and treat you like family and are not judgemental in any way, one of the counselor's has been in our shoes too! I don't know what I would be like if I hadn't turned to them probably dead and on the streets, my life is better and I thank Beth and Melissa for everything they did for me. It's not a rehab, but it does work if you are ready and willing to quit. They don't only help you with addiction but also get you help to treat the disease as well by a psychiatrist that helps with the main cause of addiction. They treat the depression and anxiety we have that causes us to use! This is all outpatient, but it's just as good as a inpatient rehab if you are truly ready to quit and better your life. If your not ready and willing to quit this program and even rehab will not work for you, you have to want to do this for yourself, not anybody else. Not for your mom, dad, kids, boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife just for you or I promise this treatment will fail and it's not their fault but your own, and they are there to help you every step of the way if you just let them! Quiting is hard but worth every moment of sobriety trust me! Good luck and be safe!

Jim Jorgensen: This place is an excellent place to work on recovery! Staff is perceptive and caring, they use the word of God to support and enhance recovery and spiritual growth which I feel is necessary for me to be content and happy in sobriety. They also have excellent true to the Bible church service each Sunday with great music!

becka tipton: So far so good. I love "most" of the staff. It's a great place to start. It's the only place that starts you in a program while you wait for your assessment date. This was critical for me. I wasn't just out dangling in my addiction for 5 weeks waiting for an appointment to verify I needed help. I'm blessed to be in the program and 80 days clean and sober. I recommend Higher ground over both Burrell and Carol Jones.

McLean Middleton: The main Counselor Michelle is a narcissist and obviously thinks her point of view is the only way. She Is a multiple felon for multiple things but mainly for Assault and has no previous counseling experience other than just being a MAN HATER. For anyone that takes counseling advice from this woman I feel so sorry for you…. and the only thing I can say is when you go to talk to this woman, you’ll want to pull your hair out because she makes no sense….. But you can figure this out on your own if you want to go see This unqualified counselor…. Such a joke….The only reason that she’s a counselors because she’s broken the law so many times and then they just decided to give her a counseling degree. Other than that I have no idea.. However Chris on the other hand is a great counselor there and his efforts need to be noted… What I experienced with Chris was absolutely spot on and has no resemblance to the main counselor Michelle which is not Qualified to be lending ANY Advice..

Austin Jaschke: Poorly constructed group of racially tense people. Appointments are usually screwed up.Conversations are often untheraputic, just stories of drug abuse being flaunted. Many therapists dont like talking. 30 minute sessions once a week for one on one. Not exactly quality healthcare when u can't get the therapist to explain the difference of shame and guilt..A therapist named Linda met me once, found out she dont like me at all.It was my first meeting. I never would of found out if she wasn't talking about me behind my back to her fellow workers.They dont like me because I'm to perceptiveTerrible group of people. Carol the therapist rules!The case manager lady ain't bad tho.

Gemma Teller: I was here back in 2015 I believe before it was preferred family. Some of the staff were nice but the director and intake coordinator were very rude. And most of the other women there acted to me like they were proud of being an addict and had attitude issues. There was no smoking but some of the women did it anyway and when staff was made aware of it they didn’t do anything at all.Would not recommend this place to anyone. Go to the preferred family location in Jefferson City instead!

Caleb Crawford: Been going here for my sobriety for over 5-6 months. They only care about money and when you can pay it. Not your sobering experience or care about you as a person at all. I’ve been with a certain counselor for months and they don’t call. They don’t try and talk to you. It’s all a big money grab. Go dotox and find sobriety elsewhere. Please. Because they will get you hook on another substance like methadone! STAY AWAY!!!

Mindy Johnson: Look up patient abandonment this facility will do it to you. They put you on a high dose of methadone abandon you and throw you to the streets without written or 30 day notice. Now you are sick suffering lost your job. But the person who started it all is still employed there after making a threat to a patient. Find somewhere else to save your life. Don’t let them kill you like they are my 2 kids. I hate to even give it a 1 star!
Tam Jon: When I started going many years ago I was told I get one on one counseling at the very least once a month. Over the summer I had an appointment for a counseling session but I never got that call.So I called the clinic to ask why I had not received my phone call I get told my counselor was on vacation. That was verydisrespectful.I know methadone doesn't cost as much as I pay a month. So if I'm not going to get what I was told is part of the program and that the medication alone will not work so you are letting me fail at a program that I have done my part but the very place I am trusting is not doing what I was told I would receive as a patient. I get no counseling and I have not gotten counseling on a regular basis for 3 plus years. But you still want the same amount of money. I was also told I would get group meetings which I have not for 3 plus years again I'm still paying the same amount.So if you are just wanting the medication and nothing else then this is perfect for you. But if your like me and need the counseling and anything that helps me stay on track then this is not for you. You pay a lot of money just for the medication cause you dam sure won't get any other help.
Drew Cook: This place seems like a good start however YOU NEED TWO FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION!!! please take that seriously or you will waste your time. I just got my ID and now I have to get my birth certificate to be able to start treatment. If you don't have both please go to burrell for suboxone or subutex. I've needed treatment for a while now and finally got it however it is apart of life. Telling it how it is so you can get help. Been homeless 2 years and want clean and want to be able to have a normal life. These people seem like they will help but I haven't received services yet so I can't say how well it works just saving you some time

Patricia Forster: I went to BHG for over 3 years. First let me say, it's much better than continuing to use! However, this place seems to care more about money than they do their patients. I was taking Subutex there, which unlike people there that take Methadone, I was required to pay $16 per day. If I was a dollar or even 50 cents short I was turned away & not allowed to dose that day. I am now going to see a regular doctor in a private doctor's office where I can use my insurance because as of right now they do not take insurance. I would only go here as a last option. If you need opioid dependency medication, I would recommend going to a private doctor if at all possible.
Anthony Perry: I've been here like 2 times before. I have chronic pain syndrome and I always found a Dr. to prescribe my pain meds....and like usual my Dr.s would move, retire, etc. So I'm back again and I must say the place is much better than when it was known as DRD. The staff and Dr.s seem to be much more accessible, and the counselors are much nicer and easier to get a long with now. No more "I'm higher up than you so if you don't do ecaxtly what I say your gone!" type of attitude. They definitely want to help, alotta paperwork.....and you have to want to be clean (only you can make that choice). So If you do feel it's time to come clean it's completely worth it! Thank you to my counselor and BHG, you've made me see and given my life purpose again. Keep it up gang.
Bradley Martin: This treatment center understands addiction they have caring staff, I brought my daughter here after trying the local hospitals for treatment for her, the hospitals treated her horrible like she was less than human because she has a disease called addiction, I'm sharing this because I want people to know these hospitals do nothing and their the ones that create these addictions to opiate's, except make you pay, they humiliated her and made feel worthless they offered her nothing and did not even refer her to treatment that would help, yes mercy hospital and Cox south and north DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES for treatment at these hospitals. Now back to BHG, their staff know and treat addiction they understand and made her feel like she has a chance, like she can beat this addiction after her first appointment the staff even walked her to her car, my daughter is currently receiving treatment here and is getting her life together and THANK YOU to the staff at BHG for caring and for all you do for people that reach out for help ,I recommend this treatment center with 5 stars I would give 10 stars if I could.

Cassie Hartin: Amazing people that work there who truly care what your going through and try to make things a little easier on you during your recovery process. I haven't been here long but I can already say that doctors, nurses, and staff truly love what they do and they are truly there to help!
Blaise Piatchek: A friendly and helpful atmosphere. They recommend a 2 year program but I would personally recommend finding the right dose of suboxone/subutex/methadone as soon as possible and decreasing your dose once you reach a daily functional dose and capability. Some need longer than others but I have been there for a month and am almost ready to start decreasing my dosage and leading a chemical dependant free life. My counselor and other counselors are extremely understanding when it comes to issues such as relapse and withdrawal. This clinic saved my life most likely and has helped me overcome the monolithic burden of opiate dependence. Thank you BHG for your help and support. And anyone struggling with this epidemic in springfield, the medication and meetings will help you overcome the demon of addiction, regardless of the terrible reviews of methadone.If you set a date for increase and decrease these people will help you succeed and over come heroin/opioid/chemical dependency. Best of luck to anyone struggling with this burden. It only leads one place.
