Bi-State Wildlife Hotline / 1-855-WILD-HELP: what do users think?
Paula Niemann: Called to let them know there was a baby opossum in my back yard. She was at my house in a little over an hour to get her. Very nice woman and so helpful.
Candace Hall: Called about a baby squirrel was not helpful at all.
Amaris Williams: Customer service was terrible, I got told to call on behalf of a bat issue. The guy was extremely rude & acted as if I was annoying him. When I confronted him about his mannerism he hung up on me.
Gina Hall: I called regarding newborn bunnies in my backyard because my hound dog killed the mother out of instinct. The person I spoke to on the hotline was rude and condescending. They told me there was no way that could have been the mother since it happened around 5pm and mothers don’t return to their nest until dusk. I asked if they could still take the babies since my dog disturbed the nest at the same time she killed the bunny, so we were pretty confident it was the mother, but they refused to take the babies. After barricading the nest from our dog and hoping the mom would indeed return as we were advised, the babies ended up dying after checking on them a few days later. If the person I talked to would have listened to the situation better and not been so overconfident that it wasn’t the mother that was killed, they could have picked up the babies and the babies could have lived.
Carrissa Ayres: Had the displeasure of speaking with a VERY RUDE woman over the phone. Made it seem like she could almost care less about a family of foxes(mom & 2 babies) who are in the middle of town. I understand that she said there isn’t much they can do, but don’t be so rude then hang up on a concerned citizen!!!!Not to mention that I wasn’t even able to get out my concern of them being next to a grade school that has a playground. What if a curious kid got a little too close to the babies and the mom became defensive, what then?!?!?!I’m sure they’ve done some amazing things to help others, but don’t make someones valid concern seem like a complete waste of time. The only waste of time was me making that phone call.
J Cain: My boyfriend had hit a fawn on the highway. It was late so he took it home and kept it in the garage. The next day I called. I met up with Amanda who took the deer. We asked if she would keep us informed. She said she would call but never did. I even tried to reach her by email but no response. I'm disappointed that we were told that but she didn't bother to follow up!
Jennifer Scott: 100% non profit organization with only volunteers, the work that is accomplished is amazing.
Darlene Radcliff: Great people doing a great service for the riverbend area. They took our orphan baby racoons when every place said no ! Thank you so much for caring for our wildlife
Stephen A. Jones: Ashley got here in 20 minutes, picked up the injured squirrel. She said it would probably be ok. She was gentile with the poor little thing. I think this will be a good place to donate to and I bet it's tax deductible.
Thomas Belcher: Short review: If you are currently googling and looking for a place to take on injured animals, call this place immediately. They’re legit. They’re careful. They’re fast.Long review: My wife and I saw a squirrel fall out of a tree, which badly broke the squirrel’s leg. After some frantic googling, we came across Bi-state Wildlife Hotline. Within an hour a volunteer came and picked it up from our front door. This is an amazing organization doing amazing work.We also received an update about the squirrel. They said it was one of the worst breaks they’ve ever seen, but they opted to do surgery anyway. Now the squirrel is on her way to recovery.Thank you Bi-State Wildlife.
Drayson Wardenclyffe: I have called this company twice now, once for a deer fawn in my window well. Not too bad I would have done that one myself but I didn't know what to do with it once I got it out. The second time was a group of baby skunks in that same window well. Let's just say that job is best left to the professionals. They got the skunks out without getting my home sprayed which by itself gets them five stars from me.
Jerry Wintrode: I listen to the volunteers answering calls from time to time. They are always professional and provide as much help as they can. Are there times they have to tell someone that they cannot help, of course. They are not a pest control company and many callers assume they are part of some local government and have a duty to come out and take animals out of their homes. It's frustrating for everyone involved but they try to stay calm, and talk people through it.
Ginger Routh: Called to report a sighting of a coyote with mange. The guy who answered literally made me feel bad for calling. He immediately sounded exhasperated and angry. He raised his voice telling me there was nothing he could do. I meekly mumbled that I just thought they might want to take down reports of sightings. I'm not kidding, he yelled: Well YOU'RE the only one who's called!" This is not a professional organization.
Jill Ian: These people are great! I originally thought they were run by the state or conservation department, but they are ALL volunteers that donate their own time and money to help these animals. I have called them in regards to several issues myself, and they have always been so helpful. They are entirely donation based, so if you can give anything, please do. As a community, we need this service! 5 stars for Bi State!
T L: Fabulous and knowledgeable people, compassionate. Love this group!
Madeline Heller: Absolutely wonderful people who do a thankless job. Make sure to send a donation after they help you. They are completely non profit. Thank you Volunteers and Rehabbers for everything you do and your precious time.
Krystie Morrison: The lady that I talked to was so nice and very helpful! I was worried about the baby bunnies that my dog had found, but as long as I keep him away from that area for the next 2-3 weeks, they should be fine! She also informed me that the only scent that would keep the mom away is blood. Unfortunately he managed to get two of them before I caught him. I removed those babies from the scene of the crime and replaced the rest of the 4 to 5 babies and put the fur back on top of them. Hopefully the momma bunny came back at dusk to feed them.
Lizz: Never picked up the phone or called me back
Mischa Rosseau: They are life savers! I was referred to them by the Emergency Animal Hospital in Springfield, MO when I contacted them about a baby rabbit that had been attacked by a cat. I left a voicemail and received a call back in less than 15 minutes. They explained that a rehabilitation volunteer would be contacting me to pick up the rabbit, rehabilitate it, and release it when it's ready. In less than an hour from that phone call, the rehab volunteer was at my door. She was very nice and knowledgeable. I was so relieved to know that the bunny was in very good, capable hands. She explained that cat saliva has bacteria that is very bad for rabbits, so she would be giving the bunny antibiotics and lots of TLC. Though the wound to it's hip (about the size of a quarter, no hide left with muscle exposed) looked terrible to me, she said the bunny would likely be healed and ready for release in 2-2 1/2 weeks. Rabbits, she explained, are pretty quick healers. I'm so thankful to have found this service. I'm certain the bunny wouldn't have had a chance w/o them. I'm confident that it will be well cared for and released when it's healed. I highly recommend them and will be making a donation to support them. I couldn't be more impressed with their service and their website is very informative. They can address any question, issue, or problem involving ANY wild animal found in MO or IL.

Tina Landis: Good people with a great mission to help wild animals.

DJ DeCluless: They are doing the wild life community a favor
Jim Dalton: They do great work
Cathy Kramer: Found a turtle and brought it here to hibernate
Sharon Mcfarland: Very compassionate, caring and knowledgeable. Thank goodness for Animal Rescues.
Mary Mills: Rescued a bunny my dog got a hold of in the back yard. Luckily the bunny was cared for and then released back into my area.
Vixen 525: I have both volunteered here and taken animals here and their care of wildlife is top notch, as is their treatment of their volunteer workers. A Prairie Ringneck snake with snake fungal disease I brought in was rehabbed and successfully released back into my own backyard! They even arranged pickup for a rabbit that got injured climbing into a downspout when I had a broken foot and couldn't drive the animal there myself.
Angelica Kalapinski: Very helpful and kind.
Chris Armistead: Found a baby rabbit abandoned in our yard and the folks here were kind enough to take it in.
Aurelia Popp: I cannot express how highly I think of this place! I brought them three baby bunnies after another rescue kind of blew me off which resulted in one of the bunnies passing away. The woman I met out front brought the bunnies back right away and told me I could call and check on them. They were wonderful!
Andrea Parham: Found an injured raccoon at my house and this was the only place that would answer after 6pm, very nice ladies there when dropped off the racoon
Neva Brooks: St Louis wildlife center was very helpful with a baby rabbit my cat had injured. They returned my call promptly and took the rabbit in hopes of rehab. It is the place I would recommend to anyone in a similar situation.
Bruce Stuesse: Great people
Kandace Eck: The work they do is amazing and they are so good at what they do!

St Louis Animal Regulations: what do users think?
Jayanti Raphael: The amount of people that I have to call and the wait times to help a lost dog who is out in the heat is disgusting. Humane society doesn't pick up strays, animal control without your inept service, on the phone for fifteen minutes, still no answer.. having to go to talk to a rep because you have no option for animal rescue. All of you disgust me. I hope you all fall victim to terrible deaths like this dog probably will. Worthless mouth breathing knuckle draggers!

Stray Rescue of St Louis: what do users think?
Travistina Williams: They where great at trying to help me But pushed to hard to get her Spay?. When I said NO BECAUSE SHE ALREADY GETTING HER LEG CUT OFF 2 MAJOR SURGERIES AT THE SAME TIME I WAS NOT DOING IT.SHE HAS BEEN SHOT IN HER CHEST AND LEG GETTING AMPUTATED BUT THEY ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT Spade? her THEN her life.SHE GO HAVE 3 LEGS BARLEY WALKING AROUND AND THEY WANT TO CUT HER BELLY OPEN TOO.& REFUSED TO DO THE SURGERY AFTER I AGREED TO PAY THE 1,200 Cash for surgery. Just if you are in a emergency skip them because all they care about is Spadeing your dog and not the dog. We weren't treated equally either. Like if we weren't everyday citizens. Go to St.louis veterinary center on south grand or central west inn veterinary on Lindell best places I could have ever went.
Sca Tay: One of my favorite city parks in St Louis, they do a farmers market a couple days a week, cocktails in the park. You should check out the event page
S. C.: These people work tirelessly to help pups in need. I have the organization listed in my will
Alexis: My boyfriend & I went in looking for a furry friend and came home with the best, most beautiful little girl Mia. Jordan is an amazing worker, he cares so much about the animals and finding them a perfect home/foster family. Thank you guys for giving us our little angel!!
Makayla Benson: best!
Erin Lenox: This place really cares about the dogs in their care, we adopted this absolute angel and love him!
hedro tedro: My company invited Stray Rescue out for an event and I learned so much about their passion and how much they do before releasing a pet to someone. All of the people involved with this organization are heroes. And my family now has a wonderful puppy that we are so infatuated with. They are such a positive influence in our community and made a huge positive impact in my life.
Adam Sampson: There was recently an incident where a volunteer at Stray Rescue did not like the friend of a foster. As the foster was getting ready to leave with a dog, the staff took the dog from her. She was then blacklisted because of it. No other reason. Many of us who have participated in many fundraisers for Stray Rescue and donated thousands asked Stray Rescue for answers, and to fix the situation. They have blocked our emails and blocked us online. These animals deserve better, and this is unacceptable.Dr. Adam Sampson
Katarzyna Parker: Thank you💔
Kathy Nollau: First time actually going there. Been following for a while. Love the people who put in the time and effort to save as many of these babies as they possibly can. Fell in love with each and every dog I had the pleasure of meeting today. Please do what you can to help them. I went to donate food, will return, and hopefully, not leave empty handed next time 🐾❤🐾💙
Margaret Nellesen-Erhard: Was looking for a dog. The people there were very friendly and helpful.
Anna Rose: Stray Rescue is a life saver for pet owners and for pets! Through there spay/ neuter events with shots, it gives pet owners a sense of relief in being a responsible owner! I will be eternally grateful for all they do.
Staci S: Love this place!! The work they do is amazing! I visit the resale shop every chance I get. The prices are amazing and the proceeds help the animals!
Walter Grant: Great customer service and cute little gift shop.
rachel delcau: When people think of and treat their pets like objects to be owned instead of sentient beings under their guardianship, their pets are disposable. Thankfully Stray Rescue finds discarded animals, and with the support of volunteers rehabilitates them for home life. Here's Sir Maxamillion von Fluffenstein, III - when he was first rescied he wasn't great at posing for the camera but he quickly learned. Because of Stray Rescue, this puppers got a better and longer life 💓 at first he stayed by the door but he adapted to the comforts of cozy and the joy of travel just fine.Don't buy pets. Adopt them and make a donation to Stray Rescue instead.
Mary Allen: Miracle workers. The work they do is so incredibly important - we all need to support them as much as we can!!!

Sonja Williams: Stray Rescue hands down is the absolute BEST!!!!!! The amount of passion and compassion they have for animals is beyond anything any animal lover could ask for. Thank You ALL for giving these sweet babies a second chance at life!
Just Doit: They do excellent work… I do my best to donate items & money as often as I can …
