United Way of Greater Saint Louis: what do users think?
Pinky Boo71: I’m currently in trouble cause I need to be out of my home today and all United way could say was call when you get kicked out onto the streets! Makes no dahm sense and then the homeless shelters St. Louis does have, they are only for children who have children or men only shelters. I work so I guess I’ll just have to go to a motel. I do have an apartment showing coming up so that’s a glimmer of hope but I’m just so stressed out and don’t know what to do and feeling overwhelmed and confused and scared all in one.. I’m thinking about asking a coworker for help but I’m so scared to even do that.. St. Louis is just so messed up.. the only thing that keeps me here is my job. I need just a little help , someplace to stay so I can still get to work and my appointment on Monday.
WESLEY THORNTON: Resourceful
Gina Schad: Always helpful and friendly
Mya V: This city is a joke regarding there homeless people and how they treat them. I'm told you have to have a referral to enter a homeless shelter what because that makes sense... No it doesn't and was told to keep calling back just to be told the same thing...this city makes me question if they are actually helping the homeless or embezzling the money for them selfs. Shame shame on you at Louis. How many families are turned away because of your stupid rules
Mammv V: This place is a joke and doesn't help homeless families. I'm told to call back my phone is shut off and I am going off of wifi. Noone in this city helps anyone who's homeless
Ashley Davis El: Since getting out of college back in the early 90s, I have worked for Non-for-Profit agencies that received funds from the United Way. My Head Start provider was one of the first agencies to offer the ASSET program. My counterparts and I were required to take the program before offering it to our families. At the time my finances were a mess: high debt, no saving, no emergency fund, and I would take out payday loans to get by. I have had a couple of unexpected emergencies the last two month. If the pandemic was not enough, a tree fell on my car and caused several thousand dollars in damages. My furnace went out and I spent several hundred to repair it. Taxes for my house and car are also due a the end of the month. I am thankful that I am able to meet all of those needs because of what I learned from the ASSET program (high debt annihilation 2021). I see what the United Way programs do for my community on a regular basis. I was impressed to share what it has done for me.
Valarie Dent: Great meeting place
Supv. T. Marie Brown: Great fellowship
Leslie M: Basically they're here for show and to steal money from the community. They have never actually referred me to any community resources at all. All I get is a fake "I'm sorry" and " Have a good day"
Mysterious Glitch: If I could give them no star I would Im tired getting a run around when I call them Idk if they are same but I dont get no answers from them about shelters Im tired of them saying call the housing hotline.......THEN WHAT ARE YOU HERE FOR
Perez Maxwell: Wonderful agency helping other agencies in their mission.
Ginnah Ginn: Need to close it down.
Bridget Bailey: Awesome
Ashley Rich: I could never thank these people enough. I was out of work and wasnt able to give my kids the christmas i wanted to give them. On christmas day i recieved a voucher to buy my kids toys. You can't tell me that my god isnt good. When i felt like there was no way he made a way. Thanks again united way
Mikell Evans: Love here

Kaven Goodrich: Amazing experience ever!! First time doing something like this. Giving back to those in need is what Christmas is all about. Most spectacular experience of my life!! It was terrific 😁😁🤩🤩😇😇🎄🎄☃️☃️
Ariel Turner: Words can't express my gratitude for the 2022 Christmas Shopping Program. The event was very well organized! My personal shopper was very helpful/personal with my experience. The checkout process was easy and the helpful men taking things to the cars for shoppers was a great addition. Having a nice breakfast during the wait to fellowship with other shoppers made it even better! Whoever organized this event, volunteers, staff etc is deserving of a job well done. If I could give more than five stars I would. This was a great initiative to help families in the St.Louis Community!

The guy is who came out to my home was very respectful, empathic and I must say thorough. He completed the repairs from plumbing to electric work. I highly recommend city if St Louis residence to look into Mission St Louis there are an abundance of offered programs that may accommodate you. Thank you Mission St Louis with the utmost!!!
Kenny: Nice people.
nikki epps: Receptionist is very rude and not welcoming. When asking questions, she got very frustrated and even stated that she was irritated with me because she gave me an answer and I keep asking questions. The world wonders why the black has so many issues, this is one of many, Unprofessionalism..Today I left with no answers and more frustrated coming out them going in

Keep up the good work.
Stephanie Campbell: The building is a hidden gem in north Saint Louis. My caseworker was very nice and welcoming. She was also patient. This place offers a variety of resources. I'm currently enrolling in the Missouri Skill Up program. I'm so happy I found this program. The best thing about the program is that it is free. You can't beat free!
Michael Mohr: Every 1st Saturday there is a reentry fair to help men and women who are on probation or parole.

Brightside St. Louis: what do users think?
Bill Belgeri: Great Campus, a real hidden gem in STL! Wonderful display gardens to show how to transform from grass to native and sustainable landscape.
Charlotte Lawton: The best community focused organization. Helping beautify the City of St. Louis!
Greg Gibson: Was at our new urban office on Shenandoah close to brightside.
R Cusick: A wonderful organization! They help with a lot of ecologically-minded projects, but I reached out to them for Project Blitz, a campaign to help litter pickups by providing bags, grabbers, gloves, and roll carts if needed! They loaned me the items free with the understanding that I will pay for any lost or damaged items. This is making it so much easier to host litter cleanups for my favorite city park!Note: I changed the hours because they actually close at 4 pm, not 5.
Suzanne Chisum: Beautiful little park. Educational signs. I went for the first time this weekend for the advertised Family Fun Day. It was to go until 3 pm. I had other things to attend to and did not arrive until 2:45. The event was already over. I do hope that I can find out about another event to participate in soon.
Gwendolyn McFowland: Wonderful very informative
Jimmy Conway: Beautiful park like nature preserve made possible by a memorial fund. It has all types of trees native to Missouri. There's also rain gardens and a small stream/waterfall. Nice, quiet getaway from the daily city grind.
veteranwomenofinfluence USA: Flowers galore +
Kevin R: Thanks for the big recycling dumpster sticker! Now my neighbors will have a better understanding of what goes into them.
Kianna Hurd: Great place to volunteer! Staff very friendly and helpful.
Elect Tavon Brooks: Great service!
Jane Schlake: Stopped in to get information on the Daffodil Sale. Also picked up some good information about recycling. They were very nice and very helpful.
laura O: Brightside is doing a lot to help our community. You can find out about a lot of community stuff there from knowledgeable people. Brightside is good for our communities.
gwen oliver: Great place with recycling information
Jack Churchill: Get your spring bulbs here and support a great organization!
Jazz InTheGarden: Love brightside! Great place to learn about native plants!
Mandi Lee: I picked up a free tray of Marigolds that they were offering for people to plant in their neighborhoods. Everyone I came into contact with was willing to help and genuinely friendly. I'm planning to attend a garden seminar next month.
Mr T (STASH): Nice pocket park!
Joseph Komadina: Urban Garden is well worth the visit
Eltoreon Hawkins: Love the took renting option for neighborhood clean up and things that's great
Andrew Covey: Brilliant folks doing brilliant work making neighborhoods more livable, downtown more vibrant, and the region more sustainable. Brightside St. Louis does great things for St. Louis City: graffiti removal, cleaning, neighborhood greening, and recycling to name a few. St. Louis would not be the same without them. The demo garden is wonderful; very beautiful, diverse, and an excellent example of sustainable design principals. This is a great place to start if you want to brighten up your neighborhood, have questions about sustainability or recycling, wish to improve local public green spaces, or need advice/resources on how to make your part of the city green and beautiful.

My children have Bachelors and Master’s college degrees. This facility has been in our lives for over 30 years. Before they were LifeWise they were called Kingdom House. If young people would get to know this place their children would be a lot safer. I’m glad I brought my children up in a place like Kingdom House/LifeWise because without places like this, life is a struggle especially if you’re a single parent. Stop by one day when they’re opened and check it out you will be happy you did. I am so grateful for them because they help my children to strive! Thanks for all of your help LifeWise!
Clarice Stratton: They really care about and help the people of their community.

Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis and ReStore South Grand: what do users think?
Sara Davis: This place is a treasure trove of stuff. Old entertainment cabinets, furniture, sinks, lights, odds and ends. Some odder than others. Pay pennies on the dollar, which is worth it if you have the time and energy to clean things up.
Paula Ricci: Love to shop and see what they have. Helpful when rehabbing on a budget.
Moisés Romo: Everything is outdated and way overpriced. You can pay the same and have a new, updated look if you bought at menards or online.
William Jackson: A lot of stuff to look through
S “Mahnn” Williams: Always leave out with something
Jim T: Great source for building materials that supports the local community.
Danny Hughes: Wonderful experience 👍
K.R. Vega: Tons of stuff. No, none of it is beautifully wrapped in a bow. You have to hunt somewhat, but that's the fun of the find. Prices are great. If you are looking for a bargain and are willing to get dirty rummaging through stuff...this is your place. I love it.
Naomi Taylor: Prices much higher than before pandemic.
Brandi Michelle Brown: Some really cool stuff!
Punit Omar: Garbage place with all kind of literally garbage things with high price tag. Few things are really priced as if they're new. With 20% on top of their price tag, few things you can get new from local walmart. Very unhygienic, dusty place. If you're a mechanic kind of person or know how to fix the whole world with your screw drivers, may be you look the place, but their prices are indeed unreasonable.
Margot: Amazing staff and you can definitely find some real gems out there!
Curt Balding: Interesting selection of stuff. The materials and items that are available are constantly changing.
Jo Ann Morris: They are good for having items for old houses where the fortunately they didn't have what I need
Sandra Bustamante: I literally just left there not buying anything because a lady working there was charging me 25 dollars for a box of nails when just 2 weeks ago I bought the 3 boxes for a dollar each. She wouldn't even bargain. 25 dollars ?!?!?!,!?! I would not recommend shopping there when she's working.
Robert Monigan: Great deals!!
Al K: People who work here have no manners.
Laurie Koetting: We spent an hour cleaning a cook top to donate. Also had extra parts for it. Brought it to the ReStore on Grand. 2 men were sitting outside when we pulled up. Neither said hello or even helped us to get the items out of our truck. They said it was 'self serve'. No offer to give us a receipt. Not friendly at all. Really disappointing.
S Cooper: The employees are consistently nice and helpful. I have built my "Frankenkitchen" from deals and unique finds from the Restore. I couldn't have done it without you, so Thanks!
Challis Brown: Love this place for buying odds and ends for the house.

Ready Readers: what do users think?
Jason Smith: Great place
Barb Berger: Had trouble trying to donate on line however I live close by. I decided to visit instead. Very friendly and helpful. I'm glad I went. There was even an article on the organization in a free weekly newspaper this week. I learned something new.
Genetta Robinson: My son enjoys every book he gets from them.
Madeline Murabito: Great non profit organization that provides literacy opportunities for children.
BIZ B: Outstanding organization devoted to advancing literacy for our children. Also a unique and rewarding volunteer opportunity to anyone that wants to make a difference changing lives for the better.
Gail Wulff: Awesome agency that brings books into the hands of kids!
Lin Patton: Wonderful non-profit dedicated to encouraging preschoolers to love books. Superb volunteer experience.
Gail Slavens: I love volunteering to read to preschoolers through Ready Readers! So many of the children we volunteers read to are suffering from the effects of poverty and other stressors in their young lives, and they love the personalized attention and the free books that we give to them. It warms my heart every week when I walk into my preschool and I am greeted with big smiles, warm hugs and enthusiastic shouts, "Miss Gail is here!" I know I am making a positive difference in the lives and education of 50 children (in four classrooms) each Wednesday by reading and talking to them, and by reciting rhymes, singing songs and playing literacy-related games with them.Ready Readers is a top-notch organization that provides a unique service in our community: promoting a love of reading and developing literacy skills by putting books into the hands and homes of children who would otherwise have no books of their own. I highly recommend the Ready Readers volunteering experience to anyone who believes that every child is precious and deserves an excellent education. If you feel strongly, as I do, that regular, enjoyable exposure to books and language-related activities are essential to every child's personal growth and future academic success, then please consider joining our community of Ready Readers!
Crystal Cox: Wonderful place to volunteer!
Sheila Oliveri: Amazing local Literacy nonprofit dedicated to changing the lives of St. Louis' most under-served children. They effectively stretch their dollars to maximize the number of children served.
Tracey Shanklin: These people get it! They go hard, boots on the ground to get your little people reading and learning the love ❤️ for books 📚 at an early age!
