Etsy Shop: An 18% TIP IS ADDED TO THE CHECK.Never again.I've supported Lemon Grass for 25 years, prior to their move to the current location.We stopped by recently for dinner and experienced the worst service.The server was flat out hostile. I walked to the back to ask for water which was delivered to the table and not to us. I had to stand, reach for it, and deliver it to my companions.When I ordered the lunch version of my dish he barked, NO LUNCH ONLY DINNER!Dinner was placed on the table and I again stood to place the dishes for my dining companions.I asked for silverware only to hear him grunt.We had to ask for napkins.He didn't asked us for drinks so I walked to the back to order a pot of tea.I've waited tables and this is standard practice to provide this service to diners.We wanted to order another pot of tea but he never returned to the table.I wondered why the bill was so much when I notice gratuity was added.I suppose this was due to his hostility.The food? we were too blown away by the lack of service.Bye, Lemon Grass.

Phúc Trence: Decided to go out for lunch with my co-workers on a cold windy Sunday and the place was packed. Imo, The Pho Special was good, served in a big bowl and I love how clear the broth was and how generous the side salad was too. I had the Saigon Beer and loveeeee the way they serve it in a cold mug. Cons? It was obviously understaffed! There was only 2 servers on the floor and 1 host/busser. After we got seated, it took approx 15mins for our server to come and take our orders. Drinks and appetizer came fairly quick but after that we had to wait 40 mins for our entrée (I saw tables came after us, almost finished their meals and we were still waiting for our food to come). And one more thing, the service could be better if it was a bit more attentive. Other than that, Pho Long is definitely a good place to go to when you’re craving for Vietnamese food.

R Cusick: One of the best places I've ever eaten in St. Louis. The owners are so kind. I've heard the building is up for sale but they are doing carryout in the meantime, so get it while you can. Their spring rolls truly are the best, and I had the bowl with egg rolls sliced up in it. It is called Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio. They offer several vegetarian choices. If you can, please support these folks' business while we are still lucky enough to have it. Wishing them luck in their future endeavors!

Cody Cummings: If you want some authentic Vietnamese dishes, then you should definitely check out Joyful House. Their seafood broths and noodle dishes are incredible and offer a ton of food for the price. Some of the dishes could easily be shared between two people, and I would suggest getting some small plates and a large noodle dish to share. Everything is really fresh and it shows with how much flavor comes through in each dish.

P Herr: In St. Louis for a quick drive through. Wanted pho for lunch, this place was the only Vietnamese restaurant open on a Sunday. You seat yourself. Service was slow, because it looked like there was only 1 waiter. However, food was good. I enjoyed the shrimp appetizer. And the cajun seafood was delicious. The flavor is different from other cajun seafood places I've had before.

We’re a little spoiled because we lived in Seattle for 8 years and had a plethora of good Vietnamese food at our fingertips. Overall, we enjoyed the food here, but there are definitely weak spots.The good:- Family owned, local operation. Love to support local when we can and this is a great neighborhood spot.- Clean, simple dining area.- Fresh ingredients!- Tasty food, well made. We left full and satisfied. I had the beef soup and my wife had the chicken noodle salad. Both were very tasty! The Pho was a little different than I was used to— there were bell peppers in the soup which I’ve never seen (not necessarily bad, just a little unusual ).Could be better:- Price and portion. $18 beef soup is a lot, especially in St. Louis. In fact, it would be expensive in Seattle too. The portion size was ok for the soup, but the chicken salad was quite small for $15z- Lack of table side condiments. I would usually expect Siracha or Hoisin at the table. Soup also needed a little more in it like onion, basil, etc.- No vegetarian main courses. This seems like the biggest oversight to me, especially since dishes can’t be substituted or modified.We will be back though! Especially because I think STL lacks good Vietnamese options. I think you won’t be dissatisfied if you go here.

Spring rolls were just noodles and half of a shrimp on each rolls for $9.50??The Spicy lemongrass beef noodle soup had a combination of instant hot pot, Vietnamese crab soup and Tom yum to the broth, why? LolMaybe the owner should just stick to their Chinese food.
K: Dou Dou Cafe is a small counter service Vietnamese restaurant located in a building that doesn’t look like a restaurant from the outside, a block west of the Cheshire Hotel. The menu is very small, but fresh and delicious. Multiple phos and soups, spring rolls, lettuce wraps, pork belly bowl, etc. busy lunch spot. Quiet in the evening. We had spring rolls, tea and lettuce wraps. A little pricey, but good quality ingredients and Yum! Recommend

Aces Eats: After seeing my friend post about Dou Dou Cafe on Snapchat, I knew what I was having the next day got lunch! A nice quaint space, limited menu but delicious offerings of what's available!I had the Spicy Pork Belly Bowl that was amazing! The pork was so tender and the rendered fat gave boss flavor! The spice level was a lil up there but perfect heat for me! Also had the beef lettuce wraps and spring rolls that were both beautiful bite of savory, sweet and freshness! My buddy had the Spicy Lemon Grass Beef Noodle Soup and slurped it down to the last drop. Caution though... Spicy is Spicy... at least he was teary eyed but just couldn't stop!Overall, don't miss out on this hidden gem! Literally... between the trees next to the historic Cheshire on Clayton Road!
