St Louis Collector of Revenue: what do users think?
Raven: Systems out of date. Websites out of date. And workers are always rude. The building is old and dusty and in need of upgrades. It’s embarrassing how rude our city workers are. You get the run around just to get your license no matter the type: drivers, business, and other “required” license.
Amy Joy Camp: I was here several weeks ago and every employee was professional, kind, helpful, and they made sure my problems were resolved in that one visit.
ItsTIME2makeA CHANGE: It was Fast!!!
Erin Siemer: I just got home from receiving an education from this “fine” city office. I just had question about my title. When I asked the lady “helping” me to give me a second to process what she was say, she rudely told me that I need to step aside. She would have someone educate me. Isn’t that her job? I just needed a moment to process and figure out if I had any follow-up questions. She pushed me aside to wait on the next person. Well, I love education since I have six college degrees. Doesn’t everyone need more education? So I waited and waited and waited for the person who was going to educate me. When I returned to another window to ask a question, she rudely attempted to interrupt myself and the other worker. I asked my question, and it was easily answered by the other employee. I then went on my way. Maybe I wasn’t the only person today who needed to get some education and some continuing education on working with the public.
P. William Powers: I own two businesses in the city of St Louis. They’ve always been very helpful for me. But hey I get it - paying taxes isn’t fun.
Erik sherman: Horrible experience the older lady with the Grey braids that sits outside in the hallway was very unprofessional an unfair after I waited almost an hour she was letting people in who didn't wait at all then when it was time for me too go in she was almost yelling at me telling me to get back away from door even after I gotten text telling me to come too room 115 !! She acts as if she garding fort Knox!!! Just another person that can't handle alil authority!!! Horrible experience as usual at city hall !!! 2021 still !!!
Daniel Spector: This is literally a terrible organization - for reasons passing understanding they are proud to be completely separate from the Department of Revenue, and thus are thrilled that even when you get your Title for your car, you still have to take the additional step of alerting the COR. The two organizations do not share data or updates. Once more, they also will charge you erroneous and illegitimate late fees, for no reason. I recommend registering your car in Illinois.
Natalie Sevener: I have always had a pleasant experience with the collector of revenues office. They are courteous when paying my bills and have even helped me find my way around city hall when I have stumbled in with other business.
trisha wyant: Had problems with my personal property bill. Called and talked to Kristen she was able to help get my bill fixed and give me the corrected amount to be paid. I was thankful for her help and will definitely reach out to her in the future if I need more help.
Michelle Edwards: I had an issue with my taxes at The Collector of Revenue that I needed help with understanding the problem. Dealing with tax issues can be very difficult, but they made it easy to understand and enabled me to process the oversight quickly and promptly. The people I spoke with were very helpful, patient and friendly. A great experience in a not so great situation! Thank you!
Amber Olson: I was honestly really surprised at how rude the phone staff was when I called to ask a question about my payment. I’m not exaggerating when I say I had better customer service skills when I was 16 working at a retail store.I am very new to this system, and I paid my bill over the phone not realizing that it would take an entire week for the office to process it. I wrongly assumed that online, when it said they would email a receipt after payment, that the receipt in question would be my personal property tax receipt. I totally understand needing a few days to process, but the wording online and over the phone had me confused. When I called the office, the woman I spoke with was incredibly rude. She interrupted me numerous times while I was trying to get out my question, and when I told her about my payment, she said “oh God no that’s not gonna process yet. five days.” I then asked if there was a way for someone in the office to manually process it, or to void my online payment, and come make the payment in person so that it would process immediately and she said the only way to do that would be to come paid in person and have them reimburse me. While none of the policies or processing times are likely this woman’s fault, it was incredibly jarring to be seeking help paying the city money, and to be talked to and that sort of tone. Finally, when I told her thank you and asked what her name was (in order to properly review the place and NOT recommend speaking with this particular employee) she hung up the phone on me mid sentence. It’s unfortunate that so much funding comes from tax payers in the city and we can’t even pay or inquire about their process without being treated poorly. Constant interruptions, lack of explanation, and hanging up mid call is definitely not good customer service. Unfortunately I think this is all too common with government services because were legally required to pay these bills, they don’t have any obligation to be kind or listen. I would recommend going into the location in person for help instead of calling. Maybe they won’t be as rude if you can see their face or name tag.
C. D. Thornton: Renewed my drivers license, and obtained the Real ID. Have also been here for license and registration, plate renewal, as well as transferring a vehicle to a relative.First things first. The people here DO NOT set the rules, they are simply doing their jobs, and if you are courteous to them, they WILL go out of their way to help you be sure A) get what you need B) know what you need to do to get what you need and C) explain what you need, and if possible, how to get it.My experiences have NOT always been resolved in one trip, and once, it took four trios total. They were always helpful, and understanding, and took the time to be sure I (and a young relative) knew EXACTLY what was needed, as necessary. They work as quickly as the system and other people visiting allow, and if treated with common courtesy and basic respect, will do whatever they can to assist. Only reason they did not get 5 stars is that they seem short on people to help direct traffic in the building (covid is not helping this) and the online registration is not as obvious as it could be.All in all, this is my go to for drivers license and vehicle registration, as it moves faster than ANYWHERE else I have gone, and they have ALWAYS steered me where I needed, and given me the exact information I needed. You may not like the rules (vot to make the changes, people) but the PEOPLE here are fantastic.
Daniel: Terribly unprofessional phone staff. They constantly put you on hold, often drop calls, and then even when they ask you what you want, they immediately put you on hold again without even listening to you. I spent 30 minutes waiting through their system only to find out that they could not help me, even though their number was listed on the website.Edit: it's nice that the city has the staffing to respond immediately to a negative Google review, but after a week they still have not returned my call for the tax information I requested.
Adam Thebeau: Water/Refuse payment online is down. Estimated wait time on the phone, 2 minutes. At 15 now. I would just suggest not living in the city limits. If we didn't have family here, we wouldn't keep the house.Edit: After 17 minutes, a voice told me there were no customer service reps to take my call, and the system hung up on me. The epitome of St. Louis City.
Julie Powell: Giving loud shout outs to Russ Amanda who responded to the email of pinky192014 on 9/24/20The response was fast and explicit and instructions were so thorough. Had been trying the Virtual Lobby for two days with no results. Consider this person a great asset to your agency. Got everything taken care in less than two hours. This means an awful lot to a 76 year old woman
Patricia Canada: Great architecture
Patrick Creahan: St Louis does not advertise the 1% earnings tax at all, and they expect new residents to just magically know about it and pay. So instead of sending a tax bill, like say personal property, they send nothing and employers don't know to take it out automatically unless they are located in the city. So it was really fun getting 5 years worth of bills, that doubled because of penalties and interest. Then I pay the principal amount and write a letter stating I didn't know about it, Jackie Whittier just says sorry, but you should have just known. Really great work.
Zachary Asa Wood: As much as it pains me to complement a tax collector, I have to here. The city tax is the city tax, and has nothing to do with the employees here. There was a mistake on my City Tax because I was not a full time resident the past year. I called, I was told what to brink, I came in, I was seen quickly, I was out, and I got a check back. Everyone was nice. Yes the city building itself sucks, it's hot, and it's old. The employees here overcome that, and they do what needs to be done.
Ghodar Soufi: Horrible Communications with other offices within the city hall.
Susan Neistat: During my posting on this page I had absolutely no problems expressing myself with and for all three gentleman of the party. Its exspecially nice to see a of you.Love you Auncle Buckie, rest in pease.
Craig Dennis: Nobody has the courtesy to return phone messages.

St Louis County Revenue Department: what do users think?
Tara Manning: Anytime I have gone In they are always so helpful and nice.
Lakiya Rogers: This office never like to be at work when they need to be like everyone else has to...
Mk S: So unorganized. They do not take the time to understand what you need. They wasted an entire two days of my time by not simply reading what I needed.
Deborah Birtley: I've been going here, since I bought my house close to there to pay my taxes! Employees are great and they get you in and out as quick as they can!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Scott Petrovic: Great experience talking with the staff. They helped me figure out what I needed to do without making me feel stupid.
AN DULLOVI: Terrible service
Philip Andrew: Close to home and better than parking in Clayton but very very long wait.
A Leon: As with any "government agency" be prepared to wait. The staff do seem to be interested in helping where they can.
Megan Barton: They were kind, efficient, helped me figure out what I owed without judging me. Turns out I owed less than $10 for my car's ppt! 😍
Janice Harris: Totally incompetent office. I have been trying to get tax statements corrected for over two years and it it STILL not right, after calling, sending emails, etc. They have an expectation for you to be timely; however, they do not practice what they preach and never take the responsibility to correct their own mistakes, yet expect you as the taxpayer to accept it and pay their incompetency.
424Bobcat: Very helpful people in this office. Thankful I didn't have to go all the way into Clayton for help with my property taxes.
Nayla Atamova: Second in line, very quick and simple! Thank you Kim!
Samantha: Holly is excellent!!!
Victoria R: I'm so glad I discovered this office! It's a pretty small space but they still had enough waiting room to stay distanced while in line. Plus they have an entire parking lot, so no need to deal with the metered street parking at the Clayton office. The line moved quickly and Holly was very friendly and helpful. She even went above and beyond by printing out an official receipt to replace the printed email version I brought with me, just in case I may need it in the future. I definitely recommend this office as an alternative to the always-busy, paid-parking Clayton one!
WB: After paying My personal property taxes on line, I went to the DMV to obtain my licence plates, And was told to go to this office to get a receipt for my personal property taxes. I walked up to the second desk, the employee behind the desk asked what she could do to help me. I explained I paid my personal property taxes online yesterday and needed a receipt, and that I had already looked online and couldn't find one. She then said it was wrote in red on the website that the receipt wouldn't be available for 5 days. I asked if she could print it off so I could get my plates. She said no. I asked what if I get pulled over and get a ticket? She said I would have to pay the ticket. I said but I am current with everything and just can't access the info. She said I should be more responsible and ensure I have plenty of time before my plates expire. I said well I paid everything 6 days before my plates will expire and should have access to the items I purchases. This lady was the BIGGEST Karen I have met. She did not offer to look up my personal property, and had no right to say I should be more responsible.I then called the Clayton location to see what I could do. I spoke with Tina Easter. Tina walked me through the steps of the website to gain access to my paid personal property taxes. Tina also offered to email me a copy of the receipt so I could print off. I was able to print off my personal property receipt and purchase my plates all in an hour.Thank you Tina Easter for your patience, your directions and kindness to access my personal property taxes. You are breath of fresh air and deserve a reward. To the old bitty Karen at the 2nd desk at the S. County office on Lemay Ferry. I understand we are in a pandemic, and I am sure you have to work extra hours. But at least be helpful and try to help people (and a smile wouldn't kill you) There are many people that are without jobs, and would gladly replace you in a heartbeat. They would gladly punch an ID number in the system to see if an individuals personal property tax receipt was available.
James Wood: Cant get anyone on the phone
Iesha Hill: In and out
Leon Scholes: Quick service.
Kevin Nguyen: Very kind people
Ayalep Schumber: Very rude lady there. Terrible experience
Garrett Korn: Cant pay with plastic

St Louis County Tax Division: what do users think?
Charles Pendergrass: Very nice conversation over the phone and my request was handled immediately
Shelly Byington: Kathy was very helpful and nice. I couldn't have asked for a better experience
Charles Willingham: These are hard working, knowledgeable people.
Benjamin Weisz: Told me to make an appointment when I’ve never had to before. I went home and proceeded to call to schedule an appointment, reached the wrong department and the person on the other side went through the entire process, pulled up the required info that I needed, and actually helped me, although I will still have to go and get it in person.
T C: Kathleen from the collector of revenue was very rude and unprofessional. After telling her what we were there for, she judged us and laughed in our faces about it. Like what we were requesting was unbelievable because we should’ve known. She continued to be rude and insinuated that I was a spoiled brat because my dad bought this car for me that I was asking about. I hope to never get her again if I need to go back. I couldn’t believe I went there only to be judged for asking for help from someone who should be there to do exactly that!! I’m only giving this 2 star instead of 1 because the security officers and the lady at the front were so kind.
Judy Payton: I came down to pay my Real estate tax yesterday, the lady that took care of me was very rude and hardly answered any my questions you really need to speak with them about that I was giving you money I’m very disappointed . I inherited this house from my parents and they passed away so I got behind on the taxes but that’s no reason to be rude to me it’s not even the main house that I live in and that was not my bill.
