Carrie D: I was evaluating this store's hot tubs and that of two competitors. Pool King had the best prices, and I am happy to report that the installation and service after the sale were also excellent. The configuration on the tub needed to be corrected on the day of install. The sales manager came out within 15 mins, referred it to the service tech, who fixed the problem same day. The sales manager even called me that evening making sure everything was taken care of.
Maria Ashby: I went there this morning, 9/10/22 at about 10:00 AM. The two men running the store were extremely disrespectful and unhelpful, and after getting a second opinion, It was apparent that they had no idea what they were talking about.I went in for a water test. They used a test strip, which I could easily do at home. When you go to a pool store, you want to make sure your home tests match the pool stores. They didn't use a test kit or anything. Useless. Don't waste your time here.

I just had to replace my skimmer on the outside of the pool and they didn't give me the right size opening or even ask what I had. Had to go back to the store a couple more times. The man that is always there Zac Duab is useless. Sorry I don't like saying that, but he's not attentive and never offers any help leaving me frustrated. I have to drive 45 min. to the store because I don't live close. My new one is leaking and I just called again to see if they could recommend a waterproof silicone to use so I don't continue to waste my time and money on trying to fix something that should have been simple. I don't know who thinks this guy is a good sales person. Thankfully the young girl that works there went above and beyond to help me get the right opening on the skimmer I bought because he couldn't take the time to ask me or get off his cell phone. Your customer service at the Lemay Store is USELESS. And I buy all my products to maintain my pool from there and always have. I will STOP recommending this store to anyone (which I have referred many over the years). You need to teach your staff how to take care of the customer that keeps you in business
Keith Wiethaupt: You purchase a pool and it leaks! Brand new and it leaks. Pool king informs you it is the installers problem. The employees inform me that I signed a contract with their installers and it’s their problem. The installers attempt to fix it 3 times and even put a brand new skimmer on which pool king barely gave me and Now I have a bigger leak at the skimmer because they did not seal the gasket properly. They send a young man out to fix it who brings two screw drivers and strips out the screws to the skimmer. I still have leaks at the skimmer as well as the return. The return is getting worse. Buying a pool was supposed to be fun but Pool King recreation has done nothing to make this happen. It’s not even been two months of owning the pool and nothing but a headache. Pool king sells you a pool and it’s your problem after that. Bad business! I just want everyone out there learn about my experience. I would recommend shopping around

Biermann Love: Pool King is lacking in integrity. Do not trust this place. I am a business owner I understand things come up out of your control. There are no excuses when the manager Joe himself says he will return your call asap and does not. This has occurred numerous times. I bought a pool from them. Was told it would be installed by end of June and as of today still no schedule for install, no return call from Pool King manager. What is the excuse for not communicating with your customers? If the installers you contract with are unreliable you must find alternative installers. Period. People feel jerked around when you tell them them to expect install on this date, I take off for that date , no one shows up AND no one bothers to call me with update. How are you going to explain this? This has happened multiple times.

Ed Hearn: Well that might be the last time I visit this store. Went to get a new net and some power or liquid chlorine. Asked the clerk sitting on a chair behind the counter where I would fine it he goes on to point to the one side or corner of the took and says it's over there. I walked over could not fine it knowing he cut my search down the about 25% of the store based on the way his finger was pointing. He never got off his chair or was doing any kind of work what so ever. So I said forget it I'm not spending any money here took my kids and we moved on to the next pool store

The kids I've talked to at Mr. B's are much, much more knowledgeable.Anyway, incorrect water testing results, lack of correct information coupled with traditional pool water myths are an expensive way to run a pool.They'll steer you wrong but not intentionally (I think), they are just woefully ignorant.i.e. they told me my Calcium Hardness was 200 and it was "okay because it was within range (200-400)".1st problem is it was not 200, my Taylor K2006 showed it at 130.When I asked about this, the worker just shrugged and said theirs is more accurate (not true).Also incorrect is that it is 'okay as long as it is within range".As with all things, it is only one part of an equation, the LSI.Because of (at the time) where my TA, pH, temperature and CH were at, the water was outside the limits and therefore corrosive to my plaster.When I informed the worker, of course, had no idea what I was talking about and continued reciting their per-memorized spiel about phosphates and other garbage.So I requested to purchase a 50 lbs. bucket of calcium chloride to raise my CH.The woman grabbed a bucket, rang it up and out the door I went.When I placed the bucket in my car, I had a second look just to make sure and the girl had given me Calcium Hypochlorite (shock).What the heck...we just had a whole discussion about calcium hardness and you sell me shock!You obviously have no idea what you're doing, or you do and you're intentions are nefarious (it was almost 2x the cost of what I actually needed).Read at water chemistry basics at troublefreepool.com and you'll be a mile ahead of the employees here.

M Shamole: stopped in to purchase chemicals for my spa and had to leave because the wait to check out process was too long. lots of testing going on and only one person working on a saturday.
Daniel Mauch: I purchased a brand new pool cleaner. It broke 2 months later. It is under warranty so I brought it in for repair. They said it might be a month. Tough during pool season but i said ok. It has now been 6 months and I still don't have it back. No good explanation. My biggest gripe is that I try to call for an updated and the phone rings off the hook. It doesn't matter what time of day I try it just rings and rings. I went into the store and asked if their phone worked and they said yes but sometimes they don't hear it. I called the line while I was there and sure enough it did ring, but they have it on vibrate. Nobody cares to pick it up I guess. Clearly they have employees who don't care....sad. I would try a different location.

After the free water test, a staff member talks through the treatment needs work you taking into account how the treatments will interact, and also that you may not want to spend the money on some items depending on the time of year. Highly recommended.

Tyler Burklow: The Leslies Pool Mart Service team and the warranties that they provide are completely worthless.I scheduled an appointment in Mid May to come take a look at my pool heater that I purchased the year before. It was still under warranty. They had to come out for 3 different visits and after 3 visits, 6+ weeks later, the service tech says he spoke to his manager and his manager, Doug Haggard out of Tennessee, just told him he has only ever had 2 heaters replaced due to manufacturers defects in his 27 years at Leslie’s!!!Why after 6 weeks am I just hearing this and why would a warranty be provided if ONLY 2 in 27 years have been replaced under warranty!?This takes poor service to another level. Just infuriating.

Shame since I only live a few blocks away and would love to use them in the future.

Michael P: Wish I could give zero. I can only suggest that you don't buy anything here ever. First, I have recently bought quite a lot of pool supplies here due to the fact it's convenient to my work. I recently purchased a very expensive algae treatment. When I returned home I found that the shock I'd added the night before (also from Leslies, see below) had done the trick and didn't need the algaecide. So I took it back, unopened. They would not accept the return because they don't take returns on chemicals. They claim it's a safety concern due to risk of tampering. So, first, it's fairly easy to make a tamper-proof bottle these days. For all I know this unopened bottle has a seal on it, and if it doesn't it easily could. Second, it's not like people are eating or drinking this stuff, and frankly, consumable products, a much higher tamper risk, are returned all the time. It must be nice to have a business model where you can just refuse returns and vaguely allude to safety risks.Also, their products are both vastly overpriced and inferior in my experience to items available on Amazon. The shock mentioned above took several pounds more to accomplish the results I'd seen from the In the Swim products I'd purchased from Amazon. The prices on their products are regularly double what is found on Amazon, and more than smaller pool company closer to my home as well.Overall, if you like overpriced, poor service, with no ability to make a return, and you'd like to deal with 17 year olds who simply don't care about you when you find yourself in this predicament, by all means, this is your place. It's a shame only because it was convenient, but I suppose it will save me money in the long run anyway.

April Minner: Do not buy pool equipment from this location. I paid $400 for a new pump last year. When I brought it in for repairs, I was told by TWO employees it would be covered under the warranty. Once it was found the pump needed a $300 repair it was magically no longer under warranty. I asked if I could get a discount, I was then told I could get $20 off the $300 repair.

OJA: The best pool place with the most knowledgeable staff in the area. Pretty much unbeatable.That said.....They would get 5 stars if their hours weren't so terrible. If that was a separate rating, it word be zero. Closes every weeknight at 5 PM while most of us are still at work. I can't pick up any chemicals on the way home. Closes in the early afternoon on Saturdays when yard work is the priority early before the heat. Closed on Sundays and the biggest pool holidays of the summer. This is when emergencies tend to crop up. A pool store closed on Memorial day is absolutely unacceptable.

He then told me again that I called the wrong place, never apologized, and did not believe me. He then said the company doesn't come out to where I lived, even though they had the previous homeowner's information in their computer system.All in all, a terrible experience.

Patrick M: This used to be a great store to buy pool chemicals. I've been a customer for several years. They had good prices and the staff was very helpful. However, they've changed ownership and they have no desire to sell anything, not to mention a complete lack of customer service. I stopped by on a Saturday and they were closed; still operating under winter hours even though it was April. So I called instead. Due to COVID-19, you can't walk into their store anymore and must call and leave a message for what chemicals you need. So I left a detailed voicemail with what I needed, but was never called back. My order was apparently just disregarded. I ended up ordering my chemicals online. It's really disappointing to see a business decline so quickly under new ownership. They won't be in business long with that poor of customer service.
Bob C: We have been buying our pool chemicals her for years, and will continue to do so. Now that we added a spa, we have even more reason to go there. The prices are great, and the guys working there really know their stuff.
Jared Mudd: I was excited to find a local pool service with reasonable prices. Called and scheduled them to close down my pool for the winter. Took the day off work for the day. They never showed or called so I closed the pool myself. The next day I come home and notice some parts taken off the pool pump. Called them and they told me they added more chemicals to the pool and I should have called them to let them know I was doing it myself. Unbelievable. Pay a little extra and let a professionally run company handle your pool needs.

When the manager left and moved to new location I started going to the new location because he always helped solve my problems. I am a senior citizen and totally responsible for everything. He is always very patient with me and explains everything in a way that I understand. He even tells me to call him when working on pool if I need guidance. I am currently having a terrible time with green algae and he is helping me deal with it. He truly is great.
