Those Dewald Guys REALTORS®: Positive:Punctuality,Quality,ResponsivenessGreat prices, super helpful owners!
James Walter: Mary Jo and Dennis are great people. They helped us out in every way. I did the install and Dennis showed me everything I needed to do. They have great prices and were an absolute pleasure to work with!!
Steve Hebel: Very knowledgeable and helpful. We went in with a rough idea of what we wanted for our banister and hand rail, and learned so much more about what we could (and shouldn't) do. We need to get our plans together but will definitely use them.
Mountainless MTB: Super friendly staff!

Builders Stair Supply Inc: what do users think?
J G: Builders Stair Supply Inc. did an excellent repair on my loose gooseneck midsection on my wooden railing. Dan, the repairman, was able to make the repair, without compromising the look, quality, or making a modification to the structure..The instability is now firm, solid, & better than before! I thank Robin for quoting me a fair price, & expediting the repair. I will definitely tell all my contacts Builders Stair Supply is the ONLY company to call for repairs, installation, or consultation regarding Stairs in the metro STL area.Superb professionalism!
Hakan Altin: Very customer friendly and very helpful. They are the best. Robin and Kevin, thank you for your help.
Charlotte Martin: We had a wonderful experience with Builders Supply. They have an extensive showroom with lots of choices. They give you help to decide. Very flexible in scheduling and their installers are the best. So careful and cleaned up so well. The end result in absolutely stunning. Very high quality and all the little details were taken into consideration. Highly recommend!!
Alix M: Very responsive and professional. Dan and Luke redid our staircase and offered creative solutions to several issues they came across during install. They got the job done fast and did quality work. The bid we originally received was very accurate compared to our final invoice and the rates were incredibly competitive. Thanks to your team!
Alex Reichert: Positive:Professionalism,ResponsivenessTheir staff here was fantastic and able to find a solution to a problem caused by another shop. They may be hard to find, but worth the search when you get there!
Bryan Davis: Excellent stock onsite, great knowledge and friendly service
Henry Stone: Extremely easy to work with. Friendly staff. Very good product!
Mike Weeks: Very helpful
Robin Alton: I am very pleased with the work from Builders Stair Supply. They were easy to work with. Reasonable prices and great customer service throughout the buying and installation process. Did an excellent job installing my new balusters. I liked the tool they had on the website to see a rendering of what my design would look like. This was extremely helpful in deciding what kind of pattern I wanted to use. Would not hesitate to recommend them and would use them again if I had a need.
Carrie Michelle: They're very helpful and knowledgeable.
Joseph Damico: Fast and friendly service
Teri Flotron: We are prepping our house to sell, but none of the STL stair companies I called had time to bid on our simple wood-to-metal baluster installation project. And I couldn't wait one more day for my procrastinator husband to get this project done. Happily, Robin at Builders Stair Supply guided us through the process from start to finish. We were happy with the BSS price, quality & customer service, despite being hit with the COVID19 scare & lockdown right in the middle of our project. Now we have a beautiful new-looking staircase we love & can't wait to show our friends (when it's safe for them all to come over)!
lawrence schacht: March 2019 St Louis Builders Show: met MARC Eden, their booth rep who looked at my photos and agreed to give e-bid on new stair bannister in our 100 year old home. He bid very detailed and promptly, and said he planned to assign ERIC for this, in 2-3 weeks.Surprise, the office called in just a few days, and Eric arrived on time the next day. He first confirmed Marc’s prediction, about a 4-hr job. Then looked at the stair wall in question (brick under drywall) and predicted more time to secure the brackets. I understand why Eric got our job, because he has huge experience in older homes, said he even worked on the Henry Shaw house in the Botanical Garden. He was very competent and patient with the bannister anchors and fabrication. Then he found a sloping inside corner that required extra sanding of the end rail to fit. Taking 2-3 hours longer to do the job correctly impressed me (on the same original bid price). Eric was always cheerful, professional, anxious to explain or answer questions; and he gladly coordinated his work stages to let me do a little staining. And his cleanup was perfect.
Chip Caraway: We had Builders Stair Supply Inc. re-do our staircase during our rework of the house, as we got rid of all carpeting and our existing was just a rough-in frame, that creaked and moved under my 350-pound, 6'5" frame. Our first visit was to their showroom whereby Marc guided us thru what was needed stair part-wise and he allowed us to create what we felt would look good for what we wanted to accomplish with the look of the stairs. He showed up the following week and began measuring the 2-flight (2nd Floor/Main Floor/Basement) staircase. He had tons of questions, especially about our flooring that would be installed. They then worked up a quote for the installation, calling out items (additional runners) that may produce the need for additional cost if they were discovered after the disassembly of the existing staircase. After acceptance of the quote, we were slated to fit after the floor install, which had to occur prior to the kitchen cabinet install. Dan showed up and accepted delivery of the most beautiful raw wood I have seen. Jus' the treads had such meticulous fitted wood edges formed from pieces being fit together, whereby the grain built an edge pattern like I had never seen.Once Dan began his work, he kept me in the loop of what he found, why it was good, or bad, and what he planned to do to remedy anything negative. Once he began installing the beautiful wood that was delivered, I realized in the second day, that these stairs were going to be awesome. Dan actually had me watch what he did to install a Tread and Kickplate with the wedge construction method, whereby the wedge gets glue on both sides and driven to create such a tight join that there will be no creaking or sagging.Once there was a complete run complete and dry for a day, I walked down the stairs and what used to creak and move under my weight and frame, was like walking on concrete . . . no movement at all. After about 3.5 total weeks (he waited to install Balusters and Scotia until the painters had painted and stained the entire staircase, which actually made things easier on the painters, and minimized painting cost), we had a beautiful staircase.Dan was a blessing to have on this job, as he is not just a mere installer, he is an artist who works with wood. In chatting with him, when he measures for a cut, he has to take into account the thickness of the saw blade, where the line is drawn for the cut with a fine lead pencil, and where the blade meets the line. He is miles above the normal "cut it close enough and caulk it" installers.I cannot recommend Builders Stair Supply Inc. enough . . . Quality . . . Artistry . . .
Shane Groenke: Good merchandise
ahmaniel ben yehuda: For over 12 years this small business has never failed me. Incredibly knowledgeable staff, meticulous and detailed, will guide you through each step (no pun intended) of the stairs.Do NOT go driving all over the place piecing your order together. You will save money, time and frustration levels by making this your one stop shop for all of your stair needs, particularly builders and craftsmen. Owners will do better here as well.

Kirkwood Stair and Millwork: what do users think?
Jenny Renfrow: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueThe team did amazing work. I am absolutely thrilled with my new door!. The door being replaced was very old and pretty damaged so the team needed to do some pretty impressive carpentry to repair the door frame. I would definitely use them again and I highly recommend.Service:Custom doors
Jenny Syed: Service:Custom doorsPositive:Professionalism,Quality
Brian Turtle: Positive:ProfessionalismHad a very positive experience with Kirkwood Home Gallery on our Kolbe window repair (due to vandalism, not faulty window). One of the best experiences I've had with a home repair contractor.
Colin Frentzel: Had a new sliding door installed in our kitchen. Found some issues during installation including a rotting subfloor and a bowed door jam. Steve and Ben did a great job replacing the rotten wood and straightening the jam. Great customer service at KHG!
Russ Breimeier: Didn't actually get stair/millwork done with this company. But I had a package accidentally delivered to them. I was trying to track it down via the shipper and the shipping company to no avail. Kirkwood Stair found it among their deliveries, somehow contacted me and my organization through a web search, and delivered the package themselves. Now that's amazing customer service from a company you can trust. A solid Google review is the least I can do for them.
Betsy Ross: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,ResponsivenessWas a pleasure working with Ben Frentzel and the install team Steve and Denise Morgan at Kirkwood Home Gallery. They replaced a huge, custom-made window in our front dining room, and it looks fantastic. Great communication throughout the process, quick turnaround, friendly team, and competitive pricing. Overall great experience.
Tom Fleischmann: They are tops in custom stairs. They will get it right the 1st time.
Alan Ox: These guys are pros. It’s a smaller shop who’s family is well-versed in commercial and residential door installation- which is the service that we utilized in our apartment building project. These guys are all business and no BS. I had the feeling from the start we were in good hands with Ben and the bid was fair.. no gouging. Every detail of our unusual installation was addressed. They measured twice and cut once! When we finish installation / touch-up I will post a couple of pictures. Thanks KSM!
Dace Murphy: Kirkwood Home Gallery is a fantastic company to work with. The team was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to do business with. I would recommend them to any home builder or home owner. Very competitive and they specialize in high-quality windows, doors and stairs.
Frank Brundick: Kirkwood Stair and Millwork replaced our 99 year old entry way, door and two sidelights. They were great to work with. Lots of help with planning the layout and selecting the various options for millwork. The installers were amazing. Replaced the entryway in one day. Lots of attention to detail. Great dust control measures. The finished product is beautiful and may well last another 99 years. We would recommend Kirkwood Stair and Millwork to anyone considering replacing and entry way.
Samantha Politte: We employed Kirkwood Stair and Millwork for our atrium ranch stair remodel. We could not be more pleased with the result. Our house was built in 1994 and our stairs reflected the style of that time. We are so happy with the new, updated look. Kirkwood Stair was timely, professional and pleasant to work with. I would recommend them to anyone looking to remodel.
Ben Frentzel: We bought a house in 2017 and the bay window was in rough shape. All the windows were stuck open and needed to go. Kirkwood Stair has a location in Brentwood, MO called Kirkwood Home Gallery that distributes high-end windows and doors, and I'm really pleased with the new aluminum-clad windows I got from them. We were able to order, install and walk away in less than 6 weeks. The products are high-quality and the service is unmatched. Things will probably go wrong when replacing old windows, but they were with us every step of the way and everything went so well.
Rob Rosenwinkel: Kirkwood Stair and Millwork did an amazing job with our kitchen remodel! The oohs and ahhs we get from friends and family when they see the plank grain walnut island top and custom walnut table are a testament to the amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail they put into every project. On top of that, the customer service was beyond our expectations. Both pieces (along with a set of custom shelves), arrived on time and installation was a breeze. If you're looking for custom millwork, call Kirkwood Stair now!
Ed W: Very poor customer service, ordered wrong parts for our gate and would not take any responsibility. Everyone I talked to passed the blame onto someone else, leaving us, the customer, with a half put together gate for over a month. DEFINITELY AVOID at all costs.
Ron K: Terrible service. Called salesman, discussed my countertop dimensions, wood preference etc. Was told I’d receive a quote, then I could come to showroom to pick out specifics. After a week received nothing. Called back, secretary could find nothing but said she’d have someone call me back. No call received. AVOID!!!!

Geoff Cisco: Positive:Professionalism,QualityJustin does awesome work. He was able to fit us in on short notice. He showed up on time and worked hard to get out job done. Kept things very clean on the job site, can’t say how lucky we were to have him transform our home, we haven’t always had the best luck with contractors but would hire him again without question.

Vanessa Benne: After a full year-long renovation, our new staircase is now one of my favorite things in our home! The talent, professionalism and knowledge displayed during this project made the wait worth while, and now we are left with a beautiful focal point as soon as you enter the home. We would definitely recommend Tradition Stair Company if you are looking for genuine quality service and craftmanship in building or upgrading your staircase! Very pleased with our final product!

angie: Positive:ProfessionalismJustin is outstanding all around. Very easy to work with, Flexible, Dependable, Excellent Workmanship, Patient, Kind, all at a very fair price!Would hire him again and absolutely recommend him.
Matthew Baechle: Justin did an amazing job replacing the newel posts, hand rails and balusters on our staircase. The woodworking was top notch for a great price compared to competitors. He gave me my initial quote within 4 hours after just a brief phone call and exchanging a few texts and was ready to start within a week.Have already recommended him to multiple people and will definitely use him in the future.
Shannon Meyer: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWe had a smaller project in an older home that Justin was able to complete in less than a day after we reached out to him. He was able to explain the different options to me for the look I was trying to achieve. Craftsmanship was amazing, but he was also very easy to work with! Will recommend him to everyone!
J.T. Mosbacher: Justin did an EXCEPTIONAL job building new custom stairs in our home. His attention to detail and the precision of his craft are excellent and are qualities that are hard to find in the construction industry today. We have an older home and he was able to replicate the original carpentry details found elsewhere in our house so that the new stairs blend seamlessly with the rest of the house. We feel very fortunate that our paths crossed and that he was willing to work on our project. He is very friendly, responsive, and easy to work with. He was willing to work long days and weekends to keep our job on time. Please consider him for your next project. Pictures are of the job before fully finished.
Betty Covington: We wanted to replace our outdated staircase and needed a carpenter. We hired Justin Wessel for the project and he did an excellent job! Justin worked with the wood working company we selected regarding all of the needed supplies. He completed the staircase in just 2 days, and was also helpful with suggestions on what type of materials/design to use as well.We have received many compliments on our new staircase. I highly recommend Justin as a carpenter, his workmanship is excellent!
