Asian Kitchen Korean Cuisine: what do users think?
J L: Delicious food in a comfortable atmosphere. Staff was wonderful as well.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Dolsat Bibimbap, Beef Bibimbap …More
Alia Havard: Always such a positive experience. Such fresh ingredients and friendly staff. Highly recommend, have tried multiple dishes and have never been disappointed.
Crazy Frog: We've been twice now, and I'm really starting to like it. The place is very clean but old and nothing fancy.I've tried a couple of dishes, and the bibimbap was very tasty. The kimche soup was very spicy!
Mimi Fruit: As someone has mentioned, the waitress (owner?) was not friendly to me when I was there. She was rude and impatient with me. Unpleasant experience.
Keegan Turney: What an amazing food experience! Plenty of authentic Korean foods to choose from. The dumplings were some if the best I've had and the soup was fantastic! The waitress was also incredible- striking up conversation with every table and making sure everyone liked what they ordered. Definitely coming back!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Opal Travel: Amazing food!!! Reasonable price, big portion and you can ask for more side dishes! I will be back again soon!
L OS: Don't go here - they need to work on customer service. Main points: Overpriced, slow service, argumentative with customers. My friend and I came in for their lunch service, the place was pretty empty when we arrived but then picked up after we were seated. Given it is Easter Sunday so I figured the service may be a little slow. I also always assume with mom and pop operations that they may have only one chef. I go in understanding this, however, the wait here is VERY LONG. We sat for over 30 minutes with just water, they didn't even bring kimchi or broccoli (some kind of side that doesn't take long to assemble. At first, the waitress (maybe owner?) was friendly enough. However, after we asked how long the wait would be (waiting 45 minutes at this point) she gave my friend a lot of attitude. Then when everything arrived it came at once, appetizer, main course everything (we only ordered one appetizer and two soups). The appetizer and my friends soup was pretty good, however they messed up my order. It was a soup (having worked in a kitchen) I assume they have soup base waiting and then pile ingredients per order. I asked the waitress to come over and politely let her know that the soup was not what I ordered. She then began to explain how it was my mistake (I didn't read the menu correctly). Everytime I tried to speak she interrupted me. Finally, feeling uncomfortable I told her never mind. Please just take the soup back, I won't have it at all. She then tried to insist that I just eat and pick out the ingredients I don't want with a spoon. I had to tell her several times that I just won't have the soup. She didn't apologize, or offer to make me another. She just took it back annoyed. When I went to pay I ask if them removed the soup from the bill. She just looked at me annoyed and said "no". No explanations, no apologies. Just horrible customer service. I could understand this response if I ordered something extremely pricey or something that would be hard to replace but this was a SOUP. You should never argue with your customers regardless. The customer is always right. I'll never come back here again. Be careful if you come, at the Asian Kitchen the customer is always wrong.
Erika Pursley: Friendly service and good food.

Dwight Ong: Great food, but just like everyone says, it does take quite awhile for the food to come out.Really delicious Korean food and the flavors were bursting and memorable. Would definitely come back for the food, however, if you are hungry, the wait might be unpleasant because it does take awhile. I do get it though since I do believe it is a small mom and pop restaurant and it is just them making and serving everyone. Either way great food, maybe stick with take out if you don’t want the wait 👍🏾
Donny Jones: Fantastic food and service!
Lewis Johns: Food was great but the menu changed which I was not happy about.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Jacob Camenzind: Food took 40 minutes or so to arrive but it was great! Loved the banchan that came with the bibimbap, most restaurants serving bibimbap don’t offer that too. The spicy pork nearly killed me with the heat, but it was good!

Cody Cummings: This is a pretty great location to grab some lunch if you’re living downtown or visiting the casinos or taking a walk through the arch park.I usually get their Bibimbap Bowl with spicy chicken. It’s got everything you’re looking for in one bowl.

Lawrence Murphy: Phenomenal food and service
Jack Michael: Had a number of items from the menu, mostly all great. Chicken wings were a little bland in my opinion. Staff were very nice. Prices are quiet expensive though.
Rusty Shackleford: There are three places in St. Louis who serve Korean style fried chicken that will truly make you want to slap your mama. O! Wing Plus, Fire Chicken, and Kimchi Guys. I’ve been coming here since the weekend they opened in 2019. I recall hearing about this place opening through the grapevine back then and I made it a mission to try it asap. It was love at first bite. I remember being with my cousin and when that chicken hit our mouths we just looked at each other and had a moment of silence. I always get the 10 wing combo. Back in 2019 this bad boy was only $14 and now it’s $21. That’s just the way she goes. Still worth every penny. The chicken itself is first-rate quality. They use an almost tempura-like batter that accompanies the various sauce options like a fine wine. My favorite is their “Original” sauce which is a little sweet and a little spicy. It’s a sticky, gochujang, soy sauce that can’t really be described in words. It transcends the vernacular of our feeble human minds. Runner up would be the “Honey Butter” sauce. This guy is just what it sounds like. A scrumptious symphony of honey and butter working together to make an irresistible finger licking concoction. If you get the 10 piece combo I recommend getting half original and half honey butter. Don’t fall into temptation by getting ranch for dipping because you won’t need it (it’s also like $2 for a side of ranch and it’s just store-bought, mass produced, low quality stuff so don’t waste your money). If you fancy yourself some chicken then come here the next time you have a hankerin’. 9.45/10 clucks.
Dustin Schlobohm: Amazing food! The buffalo chicken sandwich is a must try, it is so good my wife and I actually had it served at our wedding. Cool location right next to the Arch National Park.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5 …More

Julie McNeely-Kirwan: Bad. Just bad. My friend was trying to eat her pork dumplings and hated them, so gave me one to try so I could see what she meant. I literally had to spit out what I had sampled. It was nauseating and nasty. (My own food was OK, but nothing more, but there was something so wrong with the pork dumplings that the food didn't warrant even one star.) As to service, everything had to be ordered on a touch screen, which was kind of annoying. There was some nice staff and I think they were trying, but, overall, eating there was simply awful.
YoYo: Great food, quick and helpful service, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There are a lot of vegan/vegetarian options as well. Definitely going back to try more since there is such a variety!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Vegan Bibimbap, Bibimbap Bowl with Spicy Chicken, Waffle Fries …More

David Miller: Very reasonable prices, not at all far from St. Louis arch, great food, good atmosphere. Overall, it's a little spicy, but for the $. A rare find for this city. An a great find.Vegetarian options: I saw a few did not try but at least had the opportunity to do so.
Evan Sorenson: Fresh. Flavorful. Punchy. I love Korean food and this place makes authentic stuff. Try it out!
Christy Hawkins: It was alright. But there seemed to be a Mexican twist to some of the stuffFood: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Matthew Gerber: Went in with a group of about 15 students. We gave them a head's up weeks in advance. The restaurant was empty except for one customer picking up an order. The man behind the counter didn't say hi or anything. He just looked panicked and loudly declared. "It's going to be a wait." and followed it up with "It's going to be an hour wait". Granted this ISN'T a sit down table service place: It's like Chipotle cafeteria style. I get it that you don't want to be THAT busy, but you lost out on probably about $1000 worth of business. IDK, it just felt like they didn't feel like dealing with kids and made a see-through excuse that didn't land with me. We come to St. Louis often with our students, but we won't ever even bother with this place again. I don't care how good it might be

Max Hoch: My wife and I just moved nearby from the city where we had grown accustomed to delightful Korean restaurants. Seeing this pop up on Google Maps prompted a try, and we were absolutely delighted by our meals. The bulgogi is top-notch, as is the Donkatsu bowl. I am happy that this is the first meal in our new home. And with the great, welcoming service, they have guaranteed a return visit by my family, and hopefully yours too. Enjoy
Rusty Shackleford: My girlfriend is from Korea and she always struggles to find authentic, high quality, food from her motherland. This is one of the few places she can go for guaranteed satisfaction. To quote her “한국에 계신 엄마가 해주신 반찬과 국이 생각날때 가는 곳이고 실망한 적 없는 곳”. If you want to know what REAL Korean cuisine ACTUALLY tastes like then this is your place.

Aaron Jones: Delicious food, prompt service, friendly staff. As someone who isn’t all that familiar with Korean food, I usually stick with the gimbap (veggie, donkatsu, beef bulgogi, or spicy pork) or the tteok-bokki (spicy rice cakes). I’ve been getting my gimbap fix at Sides of Seoul for over 2 years, and I’ve never been disappointed. Highly recommend!
Mike Cheo: Owners are super nice although not chatty. They have authentic home style Korean food and this well priced!

They have a bunch of delicious sides for sale or even some marinated meat, if you want to make some Korean bbq at your own home! They are always super speedy and kind when I go. There’s not really any space to sit, but that has never been an issue for me. I most frequently get the Bulgogi bowl bop. V tasty!

Matthew Fels: This place makes my life that much happier. The service is great. There are always plenty of people working. They are friendly. And of course the food is great. My wife and I travel here over an hour just to get our Korean fix. If you want to support a small business and a great restaurant, this is it. They deserve it. MajorMic: The food is a bit bland for me, compared to other Korean restaurants in St. Louis. I remember visiting this place years ago, and they have completely improved and changed their interior design. The service was friendly, great, but also aloof.I just wish the flavors could deliver more. But my party was slightly disappointed. And menu prices are not updated yet.
Lei Song: Decent place. Well behaved staff.
Lulu Brinkley: I love Korean food and they have an amazing seafood pancake. I would recommend it to anyone :)
Braden West: Great Korean BBQ. Hefty price
Felicia Lee: Got yukgaejang and bibimbap. Bibimbap had one spoonful of meat so if you’re looking for beef, go with the extra meat option. Rice was crispy on bottom which I appreciated. Yukgaejang was spicy and good but had very little beef/vegetables/noddles relative to the amount of soup and was not filling. Side dishes were great and service was wonderful
Jinyang Liu: Not recommended at all! We ordered beef soup with barely beef and seafood tofu with 3 little clams - super cheap Chinese market frozen mixed seafood. I wonder at least one shrimp in the bow since I ordered ‘seafood with tofu’. I got an answer as the seafood as tasty. And beef soup with no beef is what it is since traditional Korean beef soup is based on beef broth. Therefore barely beef in the soup. I take the explanation but I won’t go there again. Overprice!!!!!
Jon Smith: We got the budae hot pot and it was super good. The broth was spicy and savory and there was a good amount of meats and rice cakes. The hot pot comes with noodles and rice and side dishes, and they stopped by to top off our side dishes often. There were two of us and we had enough leftovers for maybe two more servings, so the $45~ish was really reasonable.
Michael Strong: Super fun and mega tasty. The staff was a particular treat. The food was so yummy. Have to try the karaoke next time. Can not hardly wait.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap …More
Joey Derrico: Best Korean food ever...
Mary Gilbert: All of the food we ordered was excellent. Customer service was perfect and everyone was friendly and did a great job. Only one issue. They have an extensive menu of beef, pork and tofu dishes but limited fish and absolutely no chicken on the menu. I am allergic to pork and rarely eat beef or tofu. The fish they had was limited in the ways they prepared it. I ordered #38 a beef bi bim bap and it was really good, but it would have been 90% better if it had chicken or fish. There bbq is a bit pricey and again the options are limited for what protein you can choose.Overall it was good I would just love to see them have a more inclusive menu.
Yuki Y: Try the spicy squid today yummy. Server are friendly.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
aaron aiken: So good!Food: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
T: My family had never cooked anything on a grill at a Korean BBQ before. The server was very helpful, making suggestions and answering all of our questions. She wad very attentive and just great all-around.We wound up with the brisket BBQ set, the Gun Mandu dumplings, and Jaeyook (a pork dish). Everything was fantastic. I saw quite a few people with hotpots that looked amazing and the pancakes seemed to be very popular. It was particularly fun to do this as a family. My child really enjoyed putting things together and helping with the grill.Definitely recommend and will be going back.
Traci Lee: We took my mom out for her birthday and this was our first time trying Joo Joo. I wasn’t impressed with the Bibimbap due to having 2 small pieces of beef and the rest was rice & veggies. It’s overrated for the price. Also, the toilet was clogged up that day and we had to use a near by restroom.

St. Louis Union Station Soda Fountain: what do users think?
Jason H: Really long waits, Burger burnt, fry uncooked. St Louis standard was good and the people were nice. Understaffed for sure though.Went back today and it was much better. Everything was delicious this time. The Everything but... was outstanding.
JonMichael Deisher: The staff was horrible.A restaurant that was actually staffed. And the service was horrible.Tons of employees standing around and on their phones. We waited for at least 10 minutes making eye contact with several of the employees and it was several and they said nothing. Finally someone asked if we needed our order taken. The place was a joke.
Reagan Rose: The experience was relatively awful. I've been previously and had great service though. This time the food was cold, my server was beyond rude, we were charged the auto gratuity because we two infants. Which, okay. I understand the need to auto gratuity. But, they were 6 months old. The buns on the burgers were rock solid, the fries were cold and soggy.
Bamstar456: Good ice cream, but we were in a very short line of 8 people and waited over an hour for it. Also they do not go in order per ticket. We ordered ours and 2 groups behind us were served first then us.Overall 45 minutes in line with 8 people in front and 5 behind. Another 40 minutes just to receive 1 Strawberry Shake. Also a group ahead of us wanted water and waited 30 minutes just for water. We will not be coming back. PS I never really write reviews, but I had to for this.

NadeKillz: Went to the Soda Fountain and the food was great and the service was just as good. The freak shakes are so worth the price!! lol. Everyone should get them!!!
Mohammed “Mo” Is: Floor manager was a great guy and made experience great.
Jennifer Rowlinson: If you’re in St Louis, you have to go here! Delicious shakes & great food! Has a classic diner atmosphere and the staff is so incredibly friendly! You can even sit on the patio and watch the fire show!Kid-friendliness: Our server went out of her way to ensure our kids had everything they needed. Not only is the staff kid friendly, but so is their menu.Parking: Parking is located in Union Station so it’s huge!
Marina Pursley: My friends highly recommended this place and were SO excited for me to try it. The best part is the decor and the atmosphere. LOVE the old school diner theme. The shakes were creative and tasted really good. The food was honestly mediocre. There's a very minimal selection. I tried the burger and while it wasn't bad, I can get a better one almost anywhere else. It was dry and didn't have alot of flavor. The fries were good but also bland. My friends agreed that it was nothing like when they came here the first time. The service is what killed it for all us. We waited half an hour for a table (which was fine. It was busy) then once we got our table we sat there for 45 minutes before our waitress Koda even acknowledged us. She brought us waters and then disappeared for 15 minutes before coming to get our order. She took the order. We waited 15 more minutes for 5 sodas and a classic shake. After 30 more minutes we saw her actually ringing in our food. When the food came out it was okay. We had 3 extra baskets of fries, don't know how that happened. After about an hour I ask for a box and a to-go cup which I never got. We told her it was one check (bc we didn't want to make it difficult) but we got 2 that weren't correct. We had to wait another 30 minutes (for her to run around with who I assume is the manager) before we got our still not correct checks. The manager was walking around the whole time we were there. Never stopped and asked us anything. Honestly she just walked around with her nose up in the air and kept tapping on her iPad. Got the feeling she wanted to look inportant vs actuallyworking to help others out. We never saw her so anything, other than walk around with that iPad. She barely acknowledged the staff or the customers. We just paid the checks and then venmoed each other. The most frustrating part is that there was a different waitress at near by tables that turned at least 3 tables while we waited to order. This really ruined my first experience and my friends' 2nd. I wanted to love this place. I was so excited to come here. My friend could not stop telling me about it on our wally to the restaurant he was so excited. After this experience, my friends who wanted me to try this "amazing" place so badly, they don't even want to go back now. We want to give it another shot because we don't want to discount the whole restaurant on what seems like one poor manager and a bad server, but it's gonna be hard to go back.EDIT: My group was invited back to try again completely on the house and our 2nd time back was MUCH better. Our waitress Amber was amazing. Very attentive and super friendly. Will definitely be asking for her section when we come back. The food was so good, much better than last time! It came out super fast and was cooked perfectly. I am so glad we gave this place a second try. We will definitely be back with all of our friends.Parking: Parking isn't my favorite. You have to pay to park and with such slow service it's kind of a rip off!
Sid Larsen: Jelly belly heaven!!!
Sam Huffines: The best smash burger on the Mississippi River.Great service, great atmosphere, unbeatable value. Perfect way to end a visit to the aquarium.
Cyan Vines: This place was a huge disappointment. I had a friend visiting from out of town and really talked up our soda fountain. Upon arriving, the place was chaotic. Parents weren’t watching their children. They were running all over the place. The tables weren’t cleaned. The cleaning products were out and on the tables. The workers just weren’t using them. It seemed like all the workers were on a break. We couldn’t decide on a flavor and asked for two samples to help decide. The clerk went to get them and I heard someone say “for who” and “NAW” very loudly. She returned stating they don’t do samples anymore. Strange, right? I asked for a card for the establishment. I was told they don’t have business cards. I asked for the managers name. They didn’t know the managers’ name. I asked about a GM and finally got a manager’s first name that was sloppily written on the receipt. It was completely illegible. We settled on the cookies and cream which was nothing really special. I won’t be back and recommend everyone avoid this place. Baskin Robbins is honestly better tasting and their workers want to be there.Kid-friendliness: It’s like a huge playground. Not really. But people aren’t watching their children here.

kristin g: We brought my son here for his 8th birthday because he wanted to eat and get ice cream. When we came in they told us a 20 minute wait, but we actually ended up waiting 45 minutes. After we were seated we waited 15 minutes before being greeted by our server. All of the staff looked absolutely miserable, besides the bus boy. We ended up just eating our food and leaving to go somewhere else to get ice cream. Definitely will not be going back, which sucks because the place seems like it could be really neat!
Account 0856: In St. Louis on business and dropped in for lunch - super clean ice cream/burger joint! Service was awesome! Food was nice and hot - chicken sandwich, fries, chicken strips, onion rings!! Ice cream for desert and a stop at the candy emporium!! Great spot in Union Station!! Young lady who waited on us gave us a soda refill to go! Loved the music - was waiting for the Fonz to show up with Ritchie Cunningham!Kid-friendliness: What kid wouldn’t love this place!!Parking: Plenty of parking

Sherri Mayne: The Fountain on Locust is such a fun place to visit, but over the last couple of years, they, like the rest of the industry, had trouble staffing for crowds. This past Friday, there was NO sign of that. The waiter and host were fantastic. The waiter was attentive and friendly. The host sat me while my friend was parking and remembered my name at the end of our visit. Great visit!
christy spilberg: Our food, drinks, and service were exceptional, even though there was a big crowd.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Grand Chocolate Martini and Chocolat Framboise, Soups …More
Jon LaRue: I have been coming here for over 10 years, whatever magic used to be here is long gone. Seems as if there's 1 or 2 people on tables, 1 person in the kitchen, one host, and the other 3 to 4 employees seem to be doing nothing other than staring at people that need help and chose to do nothing. I waited ~20 mins for a refill of water, 20 mins to order after we sat down, and 20 mins to pay... All while people on staff stared at us. I don't know if it's a case of not my job or what, but 4 years ago I could eat lunch and dessert in 35 mins in and out the door. I have ran past hour on the meter, so dessert ain't happening... But while I wait for someone, anyone to come to the table I can write this review.I applaud how clean the place is it's the cleanest I have seen it, but wowzer operationally whoever is in charge needs to address how things work. I don't think you have to spaghetti diagram the front of the house, but it would show a lot of the operational issues. The food seems to more about looks than it used to be. Most guilty of this is the bruschetta. It looks good on the plate but when it comes to eating it, it doesn't make any sense to serve the bread this way because it's difficult to eat. Again the preparation was clean/meaning not dirty, but... There was nothing of note like there used to be.I won't come back as what used to be The Fountain on Locust feels more like "it used to be The Fountain."

Jaimme Olson: Excellent food! Get the birdseed salad! Easily one of the tastiest salads I’ve ever had. We brought a 4 year old and a 2 year old, and they shared the fancy grilled cheese and loved it!
Keeley Degardin: Had a GREAT time at The Fountain this evening with my family! We took our Mawmaw out to celebrate her 51st wedding anniversary, and our waiter Andrew made sure the evening was absolutely PERFECT! We asked him to take a photo of us all together and he climbed up a LADDER to get the best angle possible. He really went above and beyond and that honestly took this from a 4-star review to a 5-star. Overall the food was good, but what really stood out was the fresh soda and the ice cream. All 6 of us loved everything we got, and we will definitely be going back!(Photos: My wife drinking a Grasshopper Martini, my wife with their World’s Smallest Ice Cream Cone, and the decor in the main room of the restaurant)
