Lori Heitman: Was headed to Aruba and needed a battery for my dive computer, also wanted a quick reg check...swung by Midwest Scuba for the first time hoping they would have all I needed. Unfortunately they did not have the battery but Kris went out of his way to call other shops and find the battery for me. Then he proceeded to stop everything he was doing and take the time to check my reg, talk to me about some new equipment and even loaned me a pair of fins(demo model) I was interested in for my trip so that I could try before I bought. I gotta say I'm sold on this shop they won my business and I love that I was treated like a friend rather than a credit card...relationships are everything and Kris sealed the deal with his professional service and attention to detail. Andy Scott: This is the shop you want to go to. I am long over due for leaving this review. I came to the shop to ask about open water certifications and possibly buying equipment. Scott was working that day and signed me up. He explained everything and put my mind at ease about the process. Cindy instructed the open water in class, pool and dives at the spring. And if you've never been on a trip led by Bill and Peggy Harrison, well you're just missing something in life. I've been to other shops in the St. Louis area, none of them have the lively atmosphere of Y-Kiki.

Vernon Gerdel: I sent my 19-year-old daughter to look around for dive suits, fins, mask so she could get an idea of the products/styles that were on the market in her size. She is rather small so I wanted to make sure she physically saw and tried on suits before I purchased all her scuba gear.On her first visit to a dive shop, The Great American Dive Company, she was basically told if she's not going to buy today she needs to leave. Thanks to the arrogance of the store clerk this was her first impression of the diving community. I would say this shop is not the place for young women to visit alone.

Stan Mandrell: I normally never don’t do reviews however, Not a good experience Took my son in to purchase fins as he is doing their dive course. The person in the shop acted arrogant! yes, actually rude too! and like we were bothering him. If you don’t like your job , do something else to be happy.

Bridget Cunningham: Not a great experience. We were scheduled to do our pool dives on a Tuesday and Thursday night. Both nights went over the allotted time and we even had to come back the following week for another entire evening (that also went way over the allotted time). There were too many people in the class given the size of the pool. Pool needed to be cleaned. Instruction was great, but we needed more than one instructor (there was one night with two and things went much faster that night). Overall, the experience was enough to encourage us cancel our open water dives in Illinois.

I've bought gear at competitive prices, been provided rental equipment at great prices, and always met with lighthearted humor and a desire for stories. If you feel new to diving or are a grizzled, old diver with stories, this is a place to stop by and share some words.

The classes were amazing. Tammie was our instructor and I got lucky and she was also the dive instructor for our open water. This company uses Mermet Springs so much that when you arrive you are treated like an old friend. If you live anywhere near the St Louis area and are getting certified this is the place to do it.

Chrissy Rodgers: Tammie and Mike were amazing!!! Team Hops :) They really cared about every student that was there. They made me feel comfortable. I was so nervous about the mask removal and they stood by me until i got it down. Plus they love doing what they do. They are amazing ppl.I think that TGADC all around is awesome. Even Sandy at the office was good. She really knew what she was talking about. I was impressed. I highly recommend going to TGADC for you certification. I can't wait for Jamaica.

c pearcey: purchased something from Ebay being sold by this company, handle name (stldiveswim). They didn't ship the item as guaranteed under agreement. They didn't respond to several messages through ebay. I tracked them down through their website, and called for 2 days, and never received a return call from Steve. Ive been on hold for Steve for 42 minutes and still he refuses to pick up the call and acknowledge this issue. Don't buy from this company here or through ebay.

Jason Jappa: These guys really do care. When we went to Mermet and were surrounded by other dive shops, it just didn't seem like the other ones gave a damn. I can tell you for sure that the others had way too many students per dive instructor. I'm thinking they were even violating PADI rules. Not these guys though. There was always an instructor right by my side. Truly amazing experience because of this company. That's from start to finish.

I'm certified, and I was super-impressed by the how they prepared and managed the kids, and how safe they were. A great learning facility, with great instruction. A wonderful way to create some future dive buddies.

Hollie Thole: My fiance and I recently did our confined water dives and had the most amazing experience. Tom was especially helpful to me personally as I was terrified of flooding my mask after my first few attempts left me gasping. Tom walked me through it slowly and was so encouraging. By the end I was able to successfully perform the skill at the deepest point of the pool (10ft).

Eugene Dilan: I recently returned from a trip to Kenya where our driver put our lives at risk by running over 2 people. We were surrounded by a crowd that wanted blood and had to be escorted out by 5 armed police officers. This went on for over 5 hours. Our boy had to lie down between the seats to be protected. My boy says he thinks about it every day and I too wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it. In the midst of this we also had two flat tires which required us to sit in danger and our vehicle did not even have a jack for fixing the tires. I wrote a letter to Shannon outlining all of my concerns over one month ago and she has not responded. I believe that she and her subcontractor who was responsible for the jeep have been unresponsive and have tried to minimize the event. As a business owner, I tried to give her a chance to respond and crickets. How someone could fail to at least apologize is beyond me. I do not recommend her or her agency.
