Tesl Red: I went there with a truck to buy 90 retaining wall small blocks, the lady told me that the guys work there would not load the blocks for me one piece at a time. She said they come in on a pallet of 120 pieces, they will take 30 pieces off by hand one at a time then will load the other 90 pieces on a pallet and I have to pay extra $16 for it or bring it back to get a refund. I try to buy every thing local to help private owners so they can keep the business going, but It was a mistake. I went to Lowe and the employee loaded 90 pieces for me one at a time and they thanked me for the business.

Dennis DeSousa: Very disappointed in the process and finished product from Agape. Misleading on the project scheduling and timing. They were not straightforward on the design, consistently making excuses for not being able to construct the wall as we had requested. Obviously juggling multiple jobs at same time, took 12 weeks to finish a 2 week job. Have to hire another wall/paver contractor to fix the design and complete the job.They were only on time when needing a progress payment. Do not hire them, there are much better retaining wall and paver contractors who can provide a great installation and stand by their commitments.

Sean and his crew were nothing but OUT STANDING in the creativeness and workmanship that was performed in removing the old wall and building the new one. They went the extra steps to make sure that all of our requests were met to our satisfaction. We have now hired them again to replace an old flat rock retaining wall that was damaged by a large oak tree that feel on it. We did not want anyone else but Agape to tackle this project because we know it will be done by dependable and professional craftsmen.

Joe listened to our ideas and went through several rounds of 3D renderings before we settled on a plan. We had a vision of what we wanted and Joe made it all work. Communication was easy throughout the project, and the crew did a great job on the site prep, the framing and the finishing of the concrete. They also made sure to clean up at the end of each day.

John Brown met with us in 2021 to discuss the tear-out of a large, concrete retaining wall that ran 126' in length, as high at 8' in some places, and replace it with a block retaining wall. Not only was John the most impressive contractor we met with in the bid-stage, he also came in at the best price. The entire project took just under the proposed three weeks from start to finish, and we have a wonderful, secure retaining wall that we'll trust for years to come.The next year we wanted to build a shed foundation on a slope in the corner of our yard, plus a patio with a seating wall. John took our vision and made it into reality. Barbara Langan: My husband and I contracted with Big Bend Landscaping in July 2022 for a patio extension, which included tearing out old landscaping and overgrown plants, tying into existing structures, and installing lighting. We met with multiple companies throughout the spring and early summer and decided to use BBL based on two things.1. Joe created a computer design of what we were envisioning. BBL was the only company to do this as part of their bidding process, and it really let me see how they were going to tie into our existing corner landscaping. It also helped me envision how the lighting would look.2. They offered the best scheduling of anyone. While other companies were quoting 6 months before being able to start the job, BBL quoted just a few weeks (and they actually were able to start sooner than what was quoted!).Everyone at BBL was a joy to work with - Joe, Katie, and the construction foreman were all wonderful. The crew worked long hours in 100+ degree heat and was able to finish the work in a day and a half, while never neglecting workmanship or quality. Joe came by a day or so later to see the work and make sure we were happy with the results. We hope to have the opportunity to work with Big Bend Landscaping again in the future!

Phil Essman: After a comprehensive search which solicited bids from 6 reputable hardscape companies, we decided on Big Bend Landscaping/Hardscape (BBL) for our patio and walkway project. So as not to bury the lead, BBL was thoroughly professional, experienced and efficient and did an outstanding job on our project, exceeding our expectations. Project manager and co owner Joe Francke was one of the most knowledgeable and accommodating persons we have ever had the pleasure to deal with. Despite a flood of our questions, concerns, delays and yes, changes to the plan, Joe was immediately responsive and invariably offered very helpful suggestions. We were fortunate enough to have crew chief JL and his 3 family members as our work crew. JL himself is a magician with the Bobcat, and Jose, Polo and Jayson worked so seamlessly, you would believe they could do this in the dark with their eyes closed (which in fact they did at 5:30 pm). It was fun watching a team perform so efficiently. Our project required removing not only a 1000 square feet of 50 year old brick patio and walkways, but also in some cases over 12" of concrete foundation heavily interspersed with rebar. Try doing that with a bobcat. Despite those obstacles, what could have easily been a 7-8 day project was completed to our satisfaction in 3 1/2. Post project cleanup was a significant part and the crew did their best to get things back to normal including power washing the driveway, protecting the long, wide bare area where the bobcat traveled and picking up the odd pieces of brick, paver and other unused supplies. If you are looking for a high quality hardscape company, you can stop here. For those who may be interested, ask Joe for a copy of the daily video taken while they worked the project to get a good idea of how they perform.
