Shock City Studios: what do users think?
gwen oliver: Great place and the restaurant next to it was great also.
W&AT!-Records & Producing: Very professional, straight forward and unbelievable studio. Thank you so much for listening.
Ciera D.: EXCELLENT experience. Very aesthetically pleasing space to work in. SUPER quiet session rooms. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Easy parking. Efficient booking/scheduling as well. Also: these engineers are top tier. THEY TRULY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! 12 out of 10. Highly recommended this place.
Dee Dogg: Too much compression on my voice I email them about it and they never got back with me
ShaNae Walker: I was able to attend a live taping of a new show. Very nice facility. I would love to use this facility to record my podcast in the future.
LeMarkus Jamarr: Satisfaction my family 🙌🏼
Wroc Griffin: Very sad as a business that you guys don’t have cameras surrounding the area. I received a phone call from a family member that their car was stolen within you guys parking lot. As a BUSINESS, you guys should be ashamed of this. How do a business that don’t have surrounding video footage of an area allow parking, and that is known for crime. To the point where you don’t have footage of the person getting in the vehicle from a camera point angle. Rest assure that I will be looking into this personally from New York as I am a future lawyer. If your “business” have anything to do with this. Be prepared to face the fullest extent of the law, if you guys have any connection. Good thing no lawyer is needed to be hired, where they already have one. I advise people to stay away from this place, if they don’t want their car stolen without video evidence and help.
TeRex Productions: Rich Harris is the man!!!
Dywanne Harris: Very nice studio with a professional staff, our crew enjoyed themselves
James Kingston: Tier-1 studio environment and impeccable customer service. Engineer Sam Maul is a consummate professional, patient, focused, and skillful. I’ve worked with some of the best engineers in LA and Sam stands among them in St. Louis. It’s all positive for the team Shock City Studios. Highly recommended.
TMF Inc.: Very disappointed for $85 per hour. The engineer was respectful but the sound quality is horrible. I couldn’t put this on the radio. My song is all over the place. It doesn’t sound compressed and has no gel. I wasn’t in a booth, I was in an open space for bands. I’m a hip hop artist not Nickleback. I don’t think they specialize in Hip Hop, either that or they don’t want Hip Hop in there. The engineer seemed “concerned” for his welfare throughout my presence there. Sorry , but I wasn’t there to shoot up the place or rob it. I just wanted a DOPE recording experience for the price and honestly, I didn’t get it.- Yaboi Rich Ones
Tom Herbig: This is a next level studio with next level staff. If you want a next level recording experience this is the spot.
L Mc: I work for an upscale senior living community and am always trying to find new places for the residents to explore. I fell upon this and what a gift I was given! 25 + ladies entered the studio ready to learn all about Shock City Studios…. Drew was absolutely amazing … very knowledgeable explaining in detail how the entire process works …. Gave examples , was patient, kind and answered questions so a lay person could understand ! Finally , he allowed a group of seniors to perform a song and all though we sounded pretty good, Drew made us sound even better as he tweaked our performance ever so slightly !! I still have residents telling me how fun they had on their outing…. I had no idea how the day was gonna go but I couldn’t have asked for anything better as it was just a fantastic morning!! Very professionalvery personable and absolutely top notch!! We appreciated your efforts and thanks so much for your time! If you are in the entertainment business, it is certainly worth your time to check it out! It will be well worth it !
wineguy2351: What a nice discovery! I needed to make a demo for a voiceover audition and Shock City was recommended to me. Very professionally run, excellent equipment, and the engineer who worked with me was top-notch. (And don't tell them, but their studio fee is very reasonable 🤫) They are located on Gravois Rd., almost downtown, but close to Jefferson.
Santini Falls: Thus is an elite recording facility. Meaning, if you want your sound correct, dope and on point...thus is where you go. Point blank period. Everyone there are masters at the craft of sound engineering. Big boys here only.
Cara Schamburg: We worked with Sam as our audio engineer at Shock Studios and loved every bit of the experience. They were kind, professional, super talented and very COVID safe which we very much appreciated! The experience was awesome and we will definitely be going back to work with them again soon. The studio is beautiful and clean and everyone who works there was incredibly nice and organized. I couldn't be more impressed! Thanks all! Cheers, -The Whiskey Raccoons-
Brendan Hawse (RememberBuddha): Best studio in the Midwest! Sam really puts together an incredible mix! Definitely suggest going through Shock City for any recording or mixing.
Devon Scott: Coming To This Place Was A Funniest I Had, Mr. Paul Was Cold With The Controls, It’s Super Laid Back Then I Expected, I Will Keep Coming Back For More Projects, Keep That Good Work Up Yall!‼️
Kaven Goodrich: Best place to do music!! 🎼🎵🎶🎙🎤😎😎😇
Terrence Holliam jr: SHOCK CITY IS LIKE A SECOND HOME TO ME! FROM THE ENERGY THE STAFF TO THE PRODUCTION! EVER SINCE I SWITCHES TO THIS STUDIO MY MUSIC HAS UPGRADED TREMENDOUSLY!! SPECIAL THANKS TO MY BRO SAM WE LOCKED IN ON PROJECT ND HAVE BECAME BROS THROUGH THE PROCESS!! I APPRECIATE THE SERVICE PROVIDED EACH AND EVERY TIME!!
Teresa Smart: awsome expierence

Phat Buddha Productions: what do users think?
P’tite: Scam!!! I booked the studio just for the engineer to text me and say he is not available at that time (which it did not say that on the site) told him ok if he is not available just give me a refund, they still charged my card and no one ever answered my phone call or responded back to me WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ‼️‼️‼️‼️
Yae Yo: By far the worst studio recording experience ever. I had no intentions on leaving this rating and I really hate that I had to do this but I’m not understanding why my song still isn’t mixed properly. Such a simple request that Phat Buddha cannot seem to resolve. I’ll leave it at this for now but if I don’t receive a partial refund I will go into full details about my entire experience along with screenshots.
Geek: The sound quality once music was played in the car was horrible
Jemil Johnson: I love the energy when you walk thru the door and the appearance shows for itself.
Cal Scones: Ask for Zagk, you won't be disappointed with the final product
Anthony Hemphill: Had a great experience here. The equipment and software was State of the art however the pricing is a bit high. As far as what you may need to get done engineering wise you'd probably and more likely be able to get it done much cheaper by different studios. The customer service though was great can't complain about that
Sibling The - Legion: My experience was simple and laid back. Wil Yarbrough did a masterful job. I'm going back soon. I need funding too so if you need a writer or you want to lip sync for a living hit me up.
Bee Hollywood: This is the only studio I'll go to. Not only is it affordable, the quality is ridiculously good!!! And not to mention the insight and skill of the engineers. I've personally worked with Ross, Austin, and Wil. They don't miss. Thanks so much for all that you've done.
Jae Zealous: Love recording there good engineers
Ms Toya Grant: Louie, the engineering is incredible! My son, Craig's birthday will always be memorable as he produced his songs! Louie gives excellent advice; overall, he is the best!We look forward to the next session! Blessings up! 🙏🏾Check Louie out; you will not be disappointed!
Bernard Quinn: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sharika Mays: had major trouble getting a radio ready sound from an engineer/studio. Booked here on a humbug...wont be going anywhere else. Fast friendly, professional.
Sally Crisp: Great studio, had fun recording. Very knowledgable engineer/staff.
Jay Double U (Mo): Engineers know their stuff! Love it! Thanks Ross and Zacq and Louie!!!
James Daugherty: Good people.
Mud Bros: Very nice wish I could have more people 5 person limit
Rakim Amir Shakur X aka Slayer Tha G Tha G: Very proffesional will be back
Terence White: Decent equipment and staff, Ross is an amazing chief engineer, but I do not care for the owners and how they conduct business or how they treat and talk about their clients. When I heard them say they wanted to “get the hood out the studio”, when most of there clients are rappers I was floored. Tons of options around the city that would appreciate your business and craft. Do yourself a favor and stay far away!!!
L.A. Maclin: Poor management all around! No respect for artist!Lack in communication skills!Extremely Unorganized!Only one good underpaid engineer. Not the cleanest studio.Shall I continue....
Chivas Johnson: There was no privacy during my session the owners kept walking through the room I was recording in making noise talking and laughing I wouldn't be going back there
TAYLO STL: Great place to record mix or master

Utopia Studios: what do users think?
Aaron Moore: A very solid and reliable place to practice. The vibe is chill and the staff helpful and attentive. At any given time you'll hear the sweet sounds of various bands playing in the room next to you but it's not so overbearing that you won't be able to focus on your own music or practice in your room. They have the rooms soundproofed well enough to where you can still have a conversation and play music...whatever you decide. The room rates are very reasonable and easy to book. I definitely recommend booking them for any and all practice space that you need if you don't have your own already.
Budd Korleone: Awesome 👌🏿
Jazz InTheGarden: Reggae night was great and vegan food was fire!! Beautiful space that is open and inviting to all. Inside and outside spaces. Also has affordable studio space for those looking to record
Richard Cullins: I was a regular at Utopia in 2014-2015. It was the perfect place for me to put my first band together. The prices are affordable. Equipment rental, free PA sytems in each room! Above all, the staff truly sets the standard for how a community of artists, musicians, and any of us like minded people should carry ourselves as band members/artists. They made me feel very welcome and were always helpful. The world needs way more of that . I encourage anyone whos a music/art lover to check this place out- the seasoned bands, the new projects, and anyone who enjoys the MAGIC OF ROCKNROLL- needs to join the die hard- vinyl spinning- knuckledragging- truth spitting underground music cool cats and hippie hipster buffalo soldiers Gothic trumpet playing sultans of swing-dreadlock rasta hair metal- death rocknrollers grunge rock God and primal screamers down at Utopia.
Misty Dake: This place is the best. Cheapest studio space rentals in town. Super chill aesthetic. Friendly bartenders. Friendly clientele. Low priced drinks. Close to The Grove. What more could you want from a place!?
Nick Weller: I honestly can't recommend this place enough. The staff (especially Stephen, Amy, and Jenna) have been gracious and accommodating to everything our band needs from rehearsal to recording (and are incredibly rad and friendly people to boot!).They have a ton of rooms available for rent, equipment to use, and a common area with porch swings and a full bar with cheap drinks for sale.If you're looking to record: GO HEREIf you're looking to rehearse: GO HEREIf you're just looking to shoot the breeze with like-minded musicians: DEFINITELY GO HEREWe love Utopia!
Katelynn Wade: The late-nite vegan diner at utopias studios was an awesome experience! The food was delicious, staff was great, vibes were cool! Overall very happy with my experience thank you guys for a great night! You guys did awesome, looking forward for more vegan pop up events!!
Jessica Wiley: I've been here for many events from concerts to resale and the hospitality has always been top notch!! Just hope they'll open the stage up soon...drinks ALWAYS on point
Brian Anderson: Nice people and nice facility.
Jason Cox: Always friendly and accommodating in my experience.
Reiko Anderson: Did a tour at utopia today. Great place great staff many amazing things to offer !!
Natalie Cooper: So many awesome studios for rent to choose from! With great prices as well. The staff was very helpful and I highly recommend using this place if you need a place to practice your art.
Mike Harvey: Great location for photo shoots as well as for bands who need to practice.
Josh Skibar: Very secure, affordable and historic. Full of talented people and always a great place to hang out.
Bryan Legge: Best place to set up a band practice
mrawesome Walker: Great selection of rooms to rehearse
Shoeless Joe: Miss this place
Mike Gibbons: The owners are accommodating, flexible, and caring. They really want to help startup creatives including musicians and visual artists. I shot video and stills there for over a year in the basement space and everyone there is in the dame headspace, learn, teach, get ahead. Great Karma here.
Nicholas James: I left a harsh Google Maps review while I was still rehearsing at Utopia, but it was deemed inappropriate. Our band has moved out of the rehearsal space about a month later.
Kim Davis: This studio has great practice rooms that are affordable in price range!
DuBB Wire: Hard to describe but comfortable and the Souund is signature- plus much more. Is a must if you visit Stl

Christopher Smith: Adam is an exquisite musical engineer. Best I've worked with HANDS DOWN!!☝️🥇🏆

Jason Gusdorf: Red Pill mastered two of my albums and did a great job. They were quick, responsive, and professional. Highly recommend!
Michael Hagmeier: Professional and comfortable atmosphere makes it easy to play your best.
Dumptruck: Working with Jacob Detering at Red Pill was a treat. Professional space, professional engineering, first class all the way. We couldn’t have been happier with the process and final product. Jacob also offered great feedback and suggestions during our sessions. I highly, highly recommend Red Pill.
Andre Thomas: Jacob was timely, professional and a good communicator. The final product was as requested. I would definitely use Red Pill Studios again.
Alexander Kaiser: Super professional while maintaining a relaxed, and comfortable environment. Great level of input from skilled and knowledgeable people in the industry.Highly recommend to someone wanting to record for the first time, ...or their 10th time!Red Pill is on point.
James Lewis: Red Pill is a professional and knowledgeable recording studio. They are great communicators making the time there inviting and productive. Their extensive recording and musical knowledge base is astounding and exactly what you would hope for from a professional recording studio.I'm super happy I went here. It is 100% worth the price.
SEAN TORGOLEY: Excellent studio!! Very professional with a laid back atmosphere. The end product is extremely high quality. Wonderful work!
Rob Aronson: I had a great experience working with Jacob at Red Pill Studio! The studio itself has a really cool atmosphere and chill vibe. Working with Jacob was super easy and seamless. The entire process went very smoothly for me. From discussing my vision for the album, to connecting me with high-quality professional musicians, to guiding me throughout the entire recording and mixing process. I feel that he really understood the style and substance that I was going for. If you are searching for a talented producer/mixing engineer, look no further!
Jake Boncutiu: I have been fortunate enough to be able to work with Red Pill for quite some time, funny enough, remotely even back when “remote work” wasn’t so in. Being on two different continents just seems irrelevant, when there is a fast turnaround and a job well done. I get that with Red Pill every time I send music for mastering. What I get back is just fantastic always. Never had to go demand my stuff get done, never had to ask for any changes because of sloppy work. Very pleased with my experience so far and I plan on continuing to work with them.
David Lazaroff: world calls production, mixing, mastering ... Jacob has his team have helped our band Brothers Lazaroff so many recordings over the last 15 years. Great place to be creative and feel relaxed. Top notch analog/digital hybrid options and lots of fun gear to broaden the palette. Whether recording at the studio or collaborating long distance - Jacob is a true master at what he does.
Yung Killz: Great experience
Micadez: First worked with Jacob at Red Pill studio about 10 years ago back then and still til this day he makes the sessions laid back and comfortable for the artist to do what the do create. He is very knowledgeable about his craft and something I like is for input or ideas about what might sound better here or there on your track. I'll continue torecommend red pill studios to any looking for a nice place to record or need something mix and or master this is the place to be.~Micadez
Joe Schaefer: My experience with Red Pill Entertainment, and Jacob Detering has been transformative as a musician. Jacob has a world class ability to take something good, and make it extraordinary. Whether it's his arrangements, musicianship, writing ability, or production skill, he has a tool in the kit to make anything your working on better than it was. Jacob is a brilliant collaborator and mentor, perfectly balancing your vision with his boundless wealth of knowledge. The studio itself is a treasure trove of gear and goodies that will make any sound your going for a reality. I am blown away with how good my project sounds, how professionally the process has been handled, how much I've learned, and how much fun it's been!! If you're looking for a studio, I'd recommend Red Pill to any musician, in any genre, at absolutely any skill level. Jacob will get you to the next level!Joe Schaefer
Tony Hall: What a wonderful place with wonderful people and a great location too! I am very happy that I came here. I think it would be impossible to be disappointed

OMG Studios: what do users think?
Edrishica Rush: This is the most unprofessional studio I have ever encountered in my life! The gentleman who answered the telephone was very rude and disrespectful and sounded irritated with the questions I had to ask and then all of a sudden he hung up the phone. I wish I could give a negative star review because I would definitely give the lowest star review possible. I can’t believe this place of business is still running because this establishment is very unprofessional and I wouldn’t recommend this place of business to anyone I know. I hope that anyone who reads this and still decides to go doesn’t have the same experience I did, best of luck to anyone who tries to go to this horrible place.
