Chelsea Smith: Psychoanalysts are quacks that do great damage to people.
Kevin Watson: I've never been "classically psycho-analyzed," or via any of the multitudinous variations that have branched off since the rift between Freud and Jung. Neither have I been one to dismiss outright any idea or practice, in theory, that could possibly assist me in digging out, getting to the roots of, piercing through the thick and smoggy veils of any (...) that have occluded and enslaved the joy and highest most beloved nature of my true self, and have smothered the strength of my most vital prana from moving and my heart from beating most powerfully here now. I did, however, enter into over a decade of intensive psycohanalytic- psychotherapy with one of the most intelligent women I have ever had the honor of knowing, and would rate my years of self-discovery with her with 10 stars. This did not, however occur at the Institute, but in her private practice, and I am not at all free or willing to provide her name. I also explored through vast amounts of my own reading various types of psychoanalytic literature, including some notable work written about Buddhism and Psychotherapy, and some works I was able to check out of the library available to me at the Institute. I do very much relate my life history and personality to the "schizoid" type, and after I had read up and studied, I discussed this with the above-mentioned psychoanalytic psychotherapist, who did wholeheartedly agree with me. I see on the current-events notice that there will be, in addition to the Kurt Cobain presentation, another presentation on the impact of early childhood experiences and the schizoid personality, by the author of the book, "The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog." Both of these look very interesting, and I hope to attend, finances allowing, of course...
