Frangos Myrto MD: what do users think?
N M: Dr. Frangos has been my daughter's endocrinologist for over 10 years. She is very attentive, respectful, and courteous. She gives very detailed explanations and conducts visits in a timely manner. Her office is well lit and very clean. The receptionist is very pleasant and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Frangos.
Chris Benson (Doc's H-D): My son has seen Dr. Frangos since he was born and in the NICU. She is always great with him! I could not ask for more!
Bella: don’t take your kids to her. First of all, I genuinely don’t understand why Dr Frangos works with children, she’s not made any effort to interact with my son at all, just very awkward. The first time we met her was when he was in the NICU April 2021, she explained to us what hypothyroidism is, how it would effect him, etc. she was very rushy and whenever she was examining him it seemed like she was really rough. Decided to let it go, figured maybe we’re just being dramatic. now that i’ve seen the other reviews i guess we weren’t. Second time going to see her was a follow up appointment. The lady working the front desk was extremely rude to me. When filling out the paperwork we had a few questions for her about how to fill out the insurance section because this is our first child and we hadn’t had to do that before. She was mean about it and not helpful at all. After all that, she told us they actually don’t take our insurance but they’ll see him this one time since we were already there. The nurse told us to undress him so he could be weighed and examined. After waiting 30 minutes with an impatient newborn Dr Frangos finally came in. She came in, talked to us about how she doesn’t take our insurance, then tried to walk out.. We stopped her and said they told us she would examine my son so why isn’t she.. her response was “oh sorry i just forgot”. when measuring him she was so lazy about it and didn’t even do it right. his 1 month checkup with his pediatrician was the next day and they got completely different measurements she was just trying to rush us out of there. absolute worst experience ever with a doctor, especially a doctor at Mercy. all the other Mercy doctors are wonderful! i don’t understand how someone like her works there or why she works with children.
lexie reinheimer: I was 13 when I was diagnosed with graves disease. For the first few months she was great to work with and I felt comfortable as a scared new teenager. As time went on the medicine I was on gave me bad side effects. My mom and I would tell her what was going on and she would just blow us off. It ended up making me completely get off my medication and I was not getting any thyroid hormones in me. I knew it was bad for me at the time and I understood the effects it could take on me but I refused to take that medication. When I asked about other medicines she said that was the only one that is available.I wasn’t able to get a new doctor until I turned 18. After leaving her office, I found a new doctor who listened and made me aware of other options. I have now been on new medication that works wonderful for me.I highly recommend not going to this doctor. As a young child it’s hard to speak up for yourself. As I was an older teenager I knew I wanted nothing to do with this doctor since I could speak up for myself and she did nothing about it.
Jenn S: Dr Frangos came into my families life when my son was in PICU at Mercy 9/2020 being diagnosed Type 1 Diabetic. She has been amazing to work with. Flexible, patient and understanding. My second son was diagnosed this past month. She has helped our family transition to another "new norm". The office nurse is always pleasant and wonderful when I call . . . which is a lot at times : )
Teresa Bingham: Do not take your precious kiddos here. This is already a lot for you kids to take in and her bedside manner is not just lacking but had my son in tears. Finding out you may be diebetic is scary. Make life changing decisions and no longer drinking suger soda and staying away from candy is alot for a kid when all other kids can. But to keep screaming at him for drinking milk as his nighttime snack. It took all I had as a mom to stay civil.
Sarah Currie: Honestly hands the best dr we have seen for.my son
Jennifer Gusov: Horrible experience with this doctor .I saw her 3 Years and will never return no eye contact no care or anything I cried leaving her office twice because of the experience I have had please save your time and see another doctor.
Nichole Lichtsinn: Unfortunately, I would not recommend Dr. Frangos. It's on rare occasion that I would take the time to post a review, but I'm hoping this will help other parents in making a decision regarding a pediatric endocrinologist. I found Dr. Frangos to be very unprepared for the visit with my child - she took quite awhile to read the chart and notes from my pediatrician once she was actually in the exam room. In my opinion, this could have been done before and she could have been more prepared. My son is 2 and trying to occupy him at a doctor's office is tough enough, but to wait while she read in front of us and didn't attempt to engage with my son was unnecessary. Speaking of the engagement piece with my son, I found it very odd that her specialty is pediatrics, but she had little interest in actually engaging with my son. She never sat down at his level, never spoke to him directly, and did not even really examine him. I also walked away feeling as though she didn't even hear, I mean truly hear, what I was trying to ask about what was going on with my child. Lastly, the office is out dated and dirty. When we were in the exam room, the air vent was covered in black dust that appeared to not have been cleaned out in quite some time. Given the current pandemic situation, I would think that would be a minimal priority in keeping our children safe. Also the exam bed was taped at the corners as it was clearly aged. It was a bit surprising that this was all acceptable at a doctor that is affiliated with Mercy Hospital. Overall, I would just keep searching for another pediatric endocrinologist. We chose this one as there was a very long wait to get in to the specialists at Children's Hospital. I'm now understanding why there was not as long of a wait to get in with this doctor.
Lisa Hanson: Very nice Doctor! Very pleasant and helpful
Angelia Kemp: She has always been helpful and knowledgeable. She is straight forward and doesn’t sugar coat, but I rather a Dr. be that way then trying to “spare” feelings at the cost of not getting important points or realities across.
Kris Martin: Dr. Frangos is amazinga She sees my daughter on a regular basis and we've NEVER had an issue!! She is always willing to take MORE than enough time to make sure all of my questions are answered (and believe me, in the beginning I had a LOT). She never makes us feel rushed! She is compassionate with my daughter! She has always been willing to take my phone calls when I call. Her staff is VERY friendly! You don't get offices like these anymore. They are a small office with paper charting, and I LOVE it! You can always talk to the doctor and not get the run around like you do with bigger corporate type offices. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Frangos!!
Dustin Davis: Our child has been seeing Dr. Frangos for about 1 year. She is excellent. She explains everything that I ask about. She has given us complete information and recommendations on treatment. She is really good with kids. Her nurses on staff are also really pleasant to interact with. They never seem like they’re rushing you out like some other offices.
Chuck L: Dr. Frangos treats my daughter on a regular basis at her office. She's smart, professional, friendly, and cares about my daughter. I have no doubt that if there were a serious threat to life or health, she would act without concern for payment for anyone, anywhere. Unfortunately, she works in the US healthcare system, where doctors are put in the position of making sick people pay for their care. The US healthcare system (and the politicians who fight fixing it) deserves one star, not Dr. Frangos.
Ashlyn Jernigan: If I could give Dr. Frangos a negative star, I would. My son was in the emergency room, and it was recommended by the pediatrician that we see her while we were there. Of course, I agreed. (My son was 6 weeks old) I have been in the process of getting my son on tricare military insurance, so we were told there would be a charge of almost 200 dollars to see her. That was not a problem for me. I just wanted my son better. When the doctor came into the emergency room setting, she had her purse on her arm as if she was about to walk out the door, and didn't have time for us. The first thing she mentioned in the room was how we were planning on paying her, rather than focusing on my child's health first! Throughout my experience with her in the hospital, she made rude remarks. A few days after our hospital visit, rather than sending me a bill, she had her receptionist call me demanding that I pay over the phone right then and there. Her front desk staff was extremely rude. I would never put my child in her care. She cares about nothing more than her paycheck.

Kathryn Jackson, DO: what do users think?
A M: My son was diagnosed a year ago with type 1. The whole hospitals handling with new diagnosis is amazing, & informative. They really consider the individual person. I especially like how Dr. Jackson was able to answer my teenager's "what ifs: in his future" questions, & give him hope even if not so ideal situations come up. She had lots of fun facts, not super cut & dry, & you can tell she has a passion for what she does.
Captain Squiggle: Dr. Jackson is excellent! I saw her for a type 1 diabetes checkup. It was a pleasure to talk with her about where I felt I needed changes. She's very good at using her knowledge and applying her patient's personal experience to create personalized changes to their management. She seems to really get that everyone has a different case and needs a different treatment plan even if it's the same disease.
