Joseph Brown: Impressed…even just browsing. I hadn’t stepped foot inside Acme Guitar in God knows how many years. They did some work on a used electric guitar my “ex” had bought for our son. And boy…did it ever need work! But, I’m more into acoustic guitars. For reasons I won’t go into here, I lost interest somehow; but thinking about playing again.Being in the sales business myself many years ago, I was impressed with the salesperson’s interest & attention to detail. He knew chances were 99% I wasn’t gonna buy anything at the moment – but still took the time to listen & answer all my questions with honesty and sincerity. We must’ve talked a good 20 to 30 minutes. Not once did he give me the “You’re wasting my time” attitude. Guess I’m “old school”. I prefer the “brick & mortar” local stores over internet sales. Why? Because you can TRY before you BUY.
Turtle TurtleS: Was referred by 2 people to go here. I needed my mandolin set up professionally. I even offered extra money to do it the best possible. Was returned with buzzing frets. They took it back got the frets right but now the pick up is not sounding all the strings. Im done. Maybe he had a bad day. Seems like they may have too many clients and have not been able to keep to quality.

Ms Kiki Divine: I was delighted to accidentally find this hidden gem. It has a really nice library of sheet music and lesson books for various instruments. There are tons of keyboards, reed and brass instruments. I plan on returning soon. Thanks for the great visit.
Gavin Alton: I went to a handful of stores in Saint Louis trying to find a wood clarinet. I haven’t played for over 6 years since I got burnt out of it in college (or what I thought was burn-out, long story.) I went in and saw they had a few models on their wall and Luke M was so helpful answering what questions they could (they’re a keyboard player, not clarinet.) I was able to play test two of the models they had and exited the practice room with my credit card ready to go on the Buffet E11 I tried. I’m so excited to get back into the instrument I first picked up when I was 11 or so. I got an incredible deal compared to what I thought I would be spending online for this kind of instrument with a great two year warranty with maintenance. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anybody looking to pick up an instrument. Plus you get to give money to a local business instead of the Guitar Center next door (I have beef with them lol.) Who knows, I might end up back here in the future to get one of those saxophones I saw on the wall as well.Again, I really want to stress how helpful Luke M was. They were fantastic!

Izzy Marzs: I have been here twice and the first time we were here we set up a trial lesson for drumming (to see if lessons here were a good fit) and the second time was the lesson. Both times I've been here I've had good experiences, and the staff and environment were very welcoming and kind, the lesson was very fun, you have a small room you practice in, there is a white board and they have instruments for you if you don't want to bring your own or don't have your own to bring, the room has a screen on the outside for others to watch in on the lesson. They have instruments and books and strings and pics and just about anything you'd need to get started as well as great staff and instructors.

Here you find string instruments and some lower end or starter guitars and amps etc. We found viola music we were looking for here. Easy in and out of the parking lot and friendly service. Johnson and Sons: HORRIBLE don't take your instruments here 5 weeks for a pin replacement on a bassoon. Instead of being honest and explaining that they are busy the lied and took the instrument and held it. It was still function if played carefully. Now my child is 5 weeks behind on practice for her first concert in two week.

Ronald Dees: Picture perfect example of why Guitar Center continues to struggle and decline as a business. On arrival, four employees present and not one of then so much as acknowledged either myself for the proceeding 11 customers that walked in. Why? Well, two of them were playing a guitar in the corner and couldn’t be troubled. The others, I haven’t a clue - busy holding the carpet down. This behavior continues for about 20 minutes until customers had to start finding them to ask for service. The guitars, while plenty, were horribly cared for to the extent that the neck of a high dollar guitar was beginning to twist. The finishing touch is the DISGUSTING bathroom, which is pictured for reference.
Mark Cillo: They have a nice guitar selection but they do not stand behind their guitars. They are quick to sell you the guitar on the wall but if it has a defect they may not help you down the line.I purchased a really nice U.S. Stratocaster for a display and later found out it had a defect. It was past warranty so they charged for the repair. I was happy to pay for the repair and I picked up the guitar to find out that defective components were replaced with cheap Mexican replacement parts. Now I have the world’s most expensive Mexican Strat.I’ve purchased about 5 new guitars since and none from Guitar Center. There are plenty of other options to purchase nice guitars. Don’t waste your time here, they are after the sale and not necessarily helping you get the instrument you really want.
Jordyn: Stopped in after placing an online order, but decided to upgrade the headphones I originally bought. Scott, who helped me, was so friendly, patient, and helpful! He was super informative and I felt confident in the purchase because of him. Everyone at the store is super friendly and creates a very welcoming environment :)

When I finally got to speak with him, he was extremely rude and short with me for no reason. Good thing Guitar Center will probably go out of business in the next few years anyway.

I was in the store with two other people for over 30 minutes and nobody ever came to help us, even when I tried to flag people down. There were employees just making conversation with each other so staff was available. I ended up leaving since I could not get help and drove to Music Folk. They had a better selection, I got the same uke that I was looking at in Guitar Center for less money, and I was immediately greeted with help when I walked in the door. Shop local for the win.
Iam 4aet6: The place was well kept and organized, staff were helpful and knowledgeable, but didn't press. We were allowed to just do our own thing until we decided we needed help. Although they were extremely busy they still managed to find time to ask if we needed any help a couple of times. I have always had a great experience at this location, and I look forward to many more. Kudos guys.
