Shiyue Rong: ⚠️Please read this carefully before you make reservation⚠️⚠️As a Chinese, I would say each dish should worth at least 10$ less based on its quantity and ingredient.⚠️The most ridiculous one is the potstickers(normal dumplings), 4⃣️dumplings with normal sauce cost 15$? You can get at least a bowl of 10-15 dumplings in any Chinese restaurant for about 15$. The dumplings here even taste like the frozen one from any supermarket.⚠️The entrees we order are also disappointing. 6⃣️pieces duck breast cost $41??? Even the meat is not totally cooked. Again, you could get this amount of pieces in any Chinese restaurant for about 20$.⚠️Char Siu Hen(Chicken steak): It's just like a normal lunch box which only worth no more than $20. Besides the cooked skin, the meat inside is also not fully flavored, don't think it deserves 32$...‼WOULD NEVER COME AGAIN‼(Unless you just want to take pictures)
Marguerite Mondello: I purchased a gift card for my boss but when it was presented, it was not honored even after I sent proof of purchase. It was embarrassing.
danella Boyer: Everything was flavored so perfectly!
David Briggs: We waited way too late long to come here. Phenomenal flavors and great service. The Japanese eggplant with the trip all by itself.
angela ames: Recommended dishes Lobster Rangoon, GnocchiMore
Warda Shafi: Food looks beautiful, tastes wonderful. I had the duck with saffron rice with Jasmine tea and everything tasted wonderful. I wanted to give special thanks to the staff, who made me feel comfortable as I was dining alone and everyone else was apparently on a date on Saturday night.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ashlie: Recommended dishes Braised Short Rib, Lobster RangoonMore
Sara Butts: Truly one of the best meals of my life. Every bite here is thoughtfully made and crafted. It is expensive so definitely a special occasion kind of place. It is also a very small restaurant, so you have to have reservations.
Brian O'Shaughnessy: Top quality dining experience, very attentive and intimate, very good food. Entrees $35-$45Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sara Williamson: I have been to Akar probably 10-15 times and the food is always excellent. The lamb shank is some of the best food in Saint Louis. It is for this reason that we decided to take our out of town friends here for nye dinner to show them the best of Saint Louis. The dinner was wonderful until I asked for a box for my half eaten lamb shank, which the box never arrived for. Eventually I asked if the box was coming, but was told it was thrown away and there was nothing on it. Now I don't normally like to dispute that, but I intentionally left about half of the meal to eat later. The waiter did apologize a couple of times, but nothing was done to rectify the issue. I think this was most likely a fluke as I have never had an issue before, but I was left feeling disappointed. I sincerely hope this does not happen to others, and was a one time thing.
Erick: Lovely dining experience with cozy and intimate setting - indoor dining space is quite limited but as a result, it feels quite homey. The tamarind ribs appetizer was sinfully delicious and had no right to be that tasty. Easily would order a full slab if available. The catch of the day (barramundi) was much more reserved but equally as delicious. Would recommend for a lovely date night out!
Caitlin McMahan: Excellent experience for us! My husband and I are from Atlanta and we walked in, not knowing that there were set times for us to reserve to eat there. They were understanding and said that we could sit at the bar until the next reserved guest came in. The bar was the best seat in the house because we truly got to talk about food with our server and others around us. We ordered the pea soup, lobster rangoon, pot stickers, cha sui chicken, and the chicken pho. The food was flavorful. Many of the dishes had complex flavors that made you go wow. Our cocktails and mocktail were delicious. This place is worth making a reservation at and you do not want to miss anything that is happening here.
Avery: A intimate experience with amazing food. Every single bite was an explosion of flavor. The spare rib fell right off the bone. The blossom cocktail was delicious. All of the vegetables were all cooked to perfection. I didn't know mashed peas could be so delicious. The roasted carrots and eggplant were great as well. It was expensive but worth every penny.
Nick Wheeler: Among the best meals I’ve ever had. I recommend the walnut dip as an appetizer and the lamb shank if it’s still on special.
Matt Harris: Spectacular service spectacular food. I don't think I would have expected couscous in a restaurant build as Malaysian food but my lamb shank was fabulous nonetheless.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

B “Barewithme” Ware: Sushi rice tasted like fried rice. Sushi rice was dry. Sashimi was not fresh. It got a fishy aftertaste. Overrated and overpriced. Save your money and go somewhere else. It has gone down the hill.
Alex Besmer: Indo is not merely a restaurant, it's a captivating culinary voyage that transports your palate straight to the vibrant flavors of Southeast Asia. Situated in the charming Tower Grove neighborhood of St. Louis, this gem of a place stands as a testament to the extraordinary culinary genius of the owners, whose legacy at Nixta is evident in every nuanced flavor profile that Indo offers.Stepping inside Indo is like entering a dimly lit sanctuary of gastronomic delight. The decor is sleek, elegant, and subtly Asian, exuding a sense of understated sophistication. The intimate, albeit somewhat cramped, setting makes it an ideal haunt for those special, romantic occasions. If you're seeking a dining space bathed in bright light, you might find Indo's ambiance a tad too subdued. Yet, it's precisely this dark, cozy environment that adds to the charm and mystique of this extraordinary establishment. The food, however, is where Indo truly shines. It is a symphony of flavors, a culinary kaleidoscope that leaves you mesmerized. The Spicy Tuna Handroll is a revelation; it dances on your tongue and entices your palate with its invigorating spice. The Yellowtail Sashimi, a treat for seafood enthusiasts, is arguably the best in St. Louis. This delicacy is a testament to the quality of fish at Indo, and it could even rival some of the best New York has to offer. The Gyoza and Shrimp Toast are each a sensory delight, their textures and flavors perfectly harmonizing to create a gastronomic masterpiece. The Cabbage Salad is an exercise in simplicity, yet it bursts with a freshness that will make you fall in love with greens all over again. The Palm Sugar Ribs are a succulent treat, while the Sake Yaki and Vegetable Crunchy Rice provide a hearty, fulfilling experience. However, the star of the show is undoubtedly the hand rolls. Delectable enough to warrant ordering at least two per person, they are the epitome of Indo's culinary excellence.Indo is not just a top-tier Asian restaurant in Missouri, but it undoubtedly stands as a beacon of exceptional South Asian cuisine in the Midwest. It is an experience that transcends dining, offering a journey through an exotic landscape of flavors and textures. This isn't just a meal; it's a culinary adventure that promises to delight and surprise at every turn.
Maria: Everything was beautiful. The server was sweet. The ambiance was stunning. The staff was upfront about the added 20% gratuity rate & 2 hour meal limit (which is gracious). The food is flavorful. The rooms were very inviting and intimate with plenty of elbow room and space for dishes. The servers are knowledgeable about their dishes and make great recommendations. I would recommend.
Alyssa Kelsey: Food was beyond delicious!! First time trying and it did not disappoint whatsoever. If you’re reading this trying to decide to eat here or not… Make the reservation!!!Recommended dishes Sake Sashimi, Gyoza, Cabbage Salad, Chili Garlic Noodles …More
josh knight: I have been twice now the first time in Jan 2022 and the second in early 2023. the first time was amazing even the things that I didn't like the people with me thought were amazing. the second time I felt the food quality had slipped though nothing else had changed I would still say it was really good but the drop in quality is unfortunate. the service, atmosphere and decore were still good just the food seemed not as good.
Lauren Kanter: One of my favorite restaurants in stl. Amazing food and interesting dishesRecommended dishes Shrimp Toast, Crispy Tofu, Yellowtail Sashimi, Chili Garlic Noodles …More
Clint Agee: The food is a culinary experience. Everything we had was delicious. Creative and unique cocktails. Outrageously expensive and small portions.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options
Madeline Hassett: So good!Dietary restrictions: They were able to accommodate an uncommon dietary restriction, garlic, wonderfully. Everything was delicious.
Natalie Lassak: Overall, the atmosphere was nice and food was delicious. Tried the Short Rib Curry which was super good but our roti came out burnt. No idea how they can charge $60 for an entree and bring the bread out BURNT.
Darrell Loo: During my recent visit to St. Louis, I had the pleasure of dining at Indo, a restaurant I hadn't been to since before the pandemic. Indo offers a delightful selection of Southeast Asian-inspired dishes and Japanese hand rolls, which made for a truly exciting culinary experience. We indulged in numerous starters, a few items from the raw section, and some shared plates. Our server was attentive and thoughtful, skillfully coursing out our dinner. The Isaan Hamachi, featuring yellowtail with candied garlic, Thai kosho, and coconut naam pla, was a standout dish. The fish was fresh, and the combination of citrus and spice created a perfectly balanced flavor profile. The Massachusetts scallops were cooked to perfection, elevated by the accompanying lump crab, shrimp butter sauce, and sweet pea purée. The Laarb, composed of lamb tartare, spices, and candied peanuts, was another highlight of our meal. The tokujo uni toast, which showcased sea urchin on milk bread, was yet another delectable bite. Our meal also included a variety of other dishes: cabbage salad, gyoza, shrimp toast, crispy tofu, palm sugar ribs, Japanese eggplants and hamachi kama. We shared the laksa, Indo's creative spin on the classic Southeast Asian noodle dish. Their version featured mussels, prawns, ikura, and chili oil in a rich red curry broth, which was bold, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. For dessert, we ordered coconut apple rice pudding and grape soda ice cream (the flavor of the day), while our server kindly brought out a miso banana upside-down cake as well. The ice cream was intriguing and delightful, while the tender texture of the banana cake paired beautifully with the sweet and savory soy condensed milk. Our entire dining experience at Indo was truly enjoyable, and we are grateful to our server and the rest of the staff for making it such a memorable meal!

Anthony Frisella: We have eaten here several times. My main complaint is value. This is not fine dining with attentive service and lavish dishes. I found it hard to stomach the $280 price tag for our meal for two, and was shocked at the $60 price of a short rib entree. The dining room is cramped and the chairs are uncomfortable. Server was knowledgeable but otherwise unexceptional. Our appetizers--gyoza, potatoes, shrimp toast-were OK with the exception of the shrimp toast, which was interesting and tasty. The hand rolls are unquestionably good, but somewhat difficult to eat in their taco form. I appreciated the quality of the fish, and the garnishes on were also positive. Overall, this would've been a fine experience for $150, but not $280.
Consuelo Williams: iNDO was formerly an incredible dining experience on all fronts pre-pandemic, but has since fallen downhill. Their current standards of service seem to no longer take into account actual customer needs and desires and ignore basic principles of a high end service operation that are necessary to sustain customer loyalty. The front of house staff desperately needs an attitude check because they’re doing a major disservice to the kitchen. Severely disappointed.
Jonathan Nelson: So wow’d by this place. I had the perfect dinner here with my brother at the bar. Hospitality, ambience, alcohol selection, and of course the food was all top notch. A great meal tastes even better when it’s served by a staff that operates together with the shared vision of creating an experience for the guest. The yellowtail sashimi plate is out of this freaking world.
