corbin byers: The restaurant itself is nice and quaint and had live music with no cover. I also really enjoyed the infused rum cocktail selection. My biggest problem, other than having to wait 15 mins for drinks and 50+ mins for food, is that it's not New Orleans style. We had gumbo and jambalaya and neither was even slightly spicy. Also the bread served with the food is not mufaletta (traditional New Orleans style). Also no rabbit in the jambalaya or crab claw in the gumbo. The gumbo was very thick too, not soupy at all. The server herself was fine but not somewhere I need to go back.

arielle pucheu: I come to this place so many times because I truly want to love it. I always make reservations and they are always accommodated. Service is just not there for the volume of people at Sunday brunch. Atmosphere and food however, amazing.

David Miller: We arrived 30 mins prior to opening so we can get a table. Then 1/2 the table got served and the other 1/2 took 45 mins after complaining to the manager who had no idea of how to handle it. Then they brought the wrong food so it took another 10 mins. We got excuses from the server, hostess and manager that we all different. Then when I got my order of sausage gravy over biscuits, these was no meat, just gravy and not much of it. Very disappointed in the service even though Lenny our server was very nice, he just needs support from the rest of the staff and maybe some training. The servers don’t bring the food the runners do so the servers have no idea of when the food comes out and if it is correct. Then they ask what can we do to make it better, so I say comp our meal but they offer a discount. Unacceptable, not going to come back for sure.
Banafsheh Beheshtipour: Perfect food! Live music! Friendly staff and good service. This is a loud restaurant, not good for people with quiet taste.
B Hawthorne: I am biased - I love cajun food, I love a good specialty cocktail, I love good live music that isn't marginal rock cover bands. So I have been coming to Evangeline's a couple/three times a year since 2016. I am never disappointed on the staff or the drinks, and while the music can be a little loud, it's a total plus. It's been a while, but the Sunday Bloody Mary bar is also worth checking out.

Zach Weiss: My friend was racially profiled here and kicked out. He has video proof of the bouncer saying his ID is fake and trying to kick him out and not giving his ID (which happens to be very real) back to him. He is 26 years old and told he was specifically being pressed because “he is not a regular.” A different bouncer had let him and his girl in and stamped his hand. He presented the stamp to this other bouncer that came up and started asking him questions. My friend even encouraged the bouncer to call the police to confirm his ID after the bouncer threatened to call the police if he didn’t leave. Don’t go here. They’ll racially profile anybody who isn’t white and take your ID for whatever reason they can think of. Their reason that they thought my friend’s ID was fake was because he didn’t have a beard in his ID photo and does now, so “it didn’t look like him.” Outrageous.
Adam Tobey: My friend was racially profiled and was kicked out by one of the bouncers. Showed proof of identification with 2 different ID’s, yet the bouncer claimed he knew they were both fake. He is 26 years old and looks every bit of 26. Sad to see that my friend and many other have to go through this. I have never been there and I can tell you I will never go there.
Abigail Strebler: HIGHLY disappointed in this place and it’s owner(s). My friend recently came here and was not only racially profiled and questioned by a cracked out bouncer AND a bartender but was also completely dismissed by the owners after coming up at a different time to have a conversation about his experience; resulting in never even getting the opportunity to tell his side of the story. It’s 2022 people. DO BETTER. I’ll definitely be spreading the word and make sure my friends never spend a dollar here ❌

We came for the promise of music not overpowering the evening, yet we were relegated to being on our phones since we couldn't hear each other over the band without shouting. Drinks were reasonably priced and good quality, but weren't part of the ambiance being sought.

They have a great partnership with Who Dat Restaurant downstairs for catering which was delicious. Hope for more parties at this venue and highly recommend for your next event.

S S: Went to a friend's event at this place. The atmosphere was amazing. The wine and the food were both great. Only giving 4 stars because I haven't had a chance to experience the place entirely. There was limited seating and standing room only at one point, so moving around was a bit uncomfortable. Overall, nice clean venue. Will definitely go back.

Jackson Pianos LLC: One of the most dynamic, varied and engaging performance spaces around! We sold them a Yamaha C1 and my lord it sounds great in their space and the line up of artist they have is inspiring. Great food and drinks and so cozy in the winter. I really recommend you catch a show there.

I have been there twice now and the first time I'm not convinced that the server just didn't forget we ordered food. The second time....my date simply cancelled it mid-way through our hour+ wait. Awesome music, great atmosphere, nice ownership....just eat before you go maybe....if you are hungry.UPDATE: I have been several times since and service continues to improve.
