Suntrup Kia South: what do users think?
Mary Reuter: We bought our Kia Carnival a couple months ago from James. Bryan showed us the fancy details of the car as well. I almost forgot to leave a review but on our road trip I remembered. The whole team is amazing there. Everyone is outgoing and friendly. James even played hide and go seek and stayed a little late so we could finish our paperwork. We are loving our Carnival. It’s pretty sweet. Thanks again to Suntrup Kia!
Shelly Lam-Digar: Let me start by saying I am not a customer, nor will I ever be!Tried to help my friend out by taking her Kia in for a scheduled oil change and told I should be there an hour, when I got there was told unceremoniously it would be 11/2 hours that they were having a bad day. At 2 hours I asked about her vehicle and was told “can’t find you in computer, let me check. Came back and said I don’t know but I’ll find out and come let you know. Never came back. Then asked 2 more workers walking by, and was told not sure I’m too busy to help you. Finally I got angry and walked backed to the service area and was NOT met with courtesy or apology of any kind. Only told curtly again it would be another hour! Just awful. Would NOT recommend
Ax Am: Buyer beware–they’re corrupt. One flat-out lie after another. Breach of contract. I thought Suntrup was reputable and I was wrong. I went to Suntrup Kia and talked to 2 salesman, chose a car, told them I wanted to purchase it, and I’d pay cash. He said their mechanics hadn’t looked at the car yet, but I could put down a deposit so they wouldn’t give the car to anyone else, and he’d let me know when the mechanics completed it. I paid the deposit. Two days later, the salesman called me and lied, saying there was a leak in the engine and it would cost $2,000 to fix so they were selling the car to an auction. I had looked under the hood and told him I knew that was a lie, there was no engine leak. Then the “business manager” tells me another salesperson sold the car, that buyer was financing, and the car “is gone”. I said I know the car isn’t gone, the salesperson told me it was still going through the mechanical inspections. I had a contract – I talked to 2 salesmen and did exactly what they told me to do, I paid the deposit, and was told they wouldn’t give the car to anyone else. He said your deposit means nothing and it doesn't matter what you were told by our salespeople. This was 100% sleazy. Please don’t give Suntrup your business.
Tanesha Grimes: I have been calling for two days trying to get a few issues resolved however the service department will not answer the the phone I also keep getting transferred to the service department from the call center and there is still no answer
Loren D: I’m not one to leave reviews but Suntrup Kia South takes the cake. Every time I’ve had my car serviced here, there’s some kind of issue. Also not to mention I had two unnecessary warranties taken off for my new 2021 Kia Rio. I go in to get my oil change which is supposed to be covered by the warranty I kept, and they tried to say I took off that warranty when I had email proof that I did not. I had to repurchase the warranty and was only partially okay with that because they gave me a partial refund. About 100 dollars did come out of pocket for that mess up of theirs though. A month or two ago I checked my oil level about a month after getting an oil change, to find that they OVERFILLED it by a ton. I’ve only had my car serviced here, so I knew it was their mistake. How I was driving for a month without any engine issues or anything, is beyond me. Thankfully they fixed their mistake that same day and redid the oil change. I only had to beg the girl at the counter for about 10 minutes telling her how worried I was about my car because it was so overfilled with oil. Yesterday I took my car in for an oil change/ tire rotation as I do every 6 months, and they forgot to do the tire rotation. No big deal, right? I text them about it to let them know it wasn’t done (kia sent me a multipoint inspection video saying that I needed one still) and they’re trying to say that it was in fact done. Then why did you say that I need one still in your video? I’m just riding out the warranty I paid for at this point for the oil changes and tire rotations in hopes that they don’t totally ruin my car in that time. I’m giving 2 stars because they have fixed their mistakes although they don’t like to ever own up to them and admit they did wrong, nor do they like giving you a refund. They do not think of the true value of their guests — they only care about sales I would say.

Glenn Avery: Update: the security device I had them install on my Kia has kept my Sorento from starting several times. I wo der if they'll remove it free...Review: I got the KIA security device installed, called the Vehicle Interupter Switch (VIS) Safety Device installed... Seems cool. We'll see how it goes... Tamica is very nice and very pretty. Selmir was very helpful and nice as well. Suntrup is a very pleasant dealership.

MARY LAROSE: Service department is awful! They do not return calls and it is nearly impossible to schedule maintenance. Last appointment for the day at 3:30 and closed on weekends. How are people who work 9-5 supposed to service their cars?
Heather Perez: Worked with a sales rep on trading my car in, after going back and forth and signing unofficial agreements, that their sales manager declined in the end, I still moved forward with trying to finance the trade in. All I asked that they only run it to Wells Fargo who I always use, if not I’d call them directly, they said absolutely! It was made extremely clear to only run it 1 time to Wells Fargo. While sitting in the office I got multiple notifications that my credit was ran through multiple agencies, and on top of that they didn’t have my full information and incorrect information. They said the only way to correct it is to RUN MY CREDIT AGAIN. which i may have been open to if they had only ran it the one time originally.

Daniel Leach: Steer clear of Suntrup Kia South if you value your hard earned dollars. I went in to Suntrup this past week to look at and drive a new Kia Carnival. I had found one of their listings on a third party app (Autotrader) and also viewed it on their website, so I knew the price to expect.I showed up, drove the vehicle, and then sat down with the salesperson to discuss a deal. He proceeded to give me a financing total amount of well over $5000 over the MSRP of the vehicle. I stated that I thought the MSRP of this vehicle was $36k and some extra, and he just looked at me and said " yeah, these are selling at over MSRP" while showing me a total financed amount of over $42,000. To be completely fair, the salesperson did offer to "split" the markup with me 50/50 after some emails back and forth after our initial meeting.Now I know why Suntrup Kia South has several of them in stock, and none of their local competitors have any Carnivals to sell.I have written commitment from two other local Kia dealers to sell me a Carnival at MSRP and not a penny more.Stay clear of Suntrup Kia South! They are trying to make large additional profits off the backs of hard-working consumers in my opinion.The only reason I have them as one star instead of zero is because their salesperson seemed to be a nice guy. Without his good attitude, they would be a zero-star rating for sure.
Charity Davis: Bad customer service! I had an email sent to me about trading my car. I set up an appointment with Noah, who did not even tell me that he doesn’t work on weekends. I told him my situation he said there were options we would discuss. I have text messages that say we would discuss this. Not once did he tell me he was not going to be there. I drove forty five minutes to sit there for five minutes with someone who did not try to work with me. It was a waste of time and a wasted day.
Leeann Busch: Go to Lou Fuz Kia. We went to this Lindbergh dealer for a specific car, didn't even need to test drive it or haggle. Just paying cash and leaving with a car that day. They try to charge and add all these insane fees and wanted almost $5000 over sticker price. They wouldn't honor the list price or even come down on the extra fees. We said thanks and left. Drove down to Lou Fuz and bought the exact same car listed $1000 cheaper and at the sticker price, no crazy fees, super friendly and easy to work with. In and out with a car in less than 40 minutes. This SunTrust place wouldn't even send out a sales associate ti talk to us. We are very happy with the other locations but this place doesn't seem to like making money or an easy sale.
Nig Ikwon: Genuinely feel bad for anyone who wants to buy or already owns a Kia. We already know you broke and can tell you have very little meaning in life. Go up the road get a GM yes it may be junk too but at least the car will look somewhat reasonably priced unlike Kia who will charge you 60k on some cars for what? Unreliable junk? No wonder they offer a 10 year warranty on some stuff it won’t make it past 1 without any issues.

Aimee Simino: Update: I have been screwed over by Kia now. They sold me a Kia in the year range of the lawsuit that was settled. Without fixing the engine. Or informing me of the engine problems these models have before my purchase. I haven't had the truck a year, paid for the expensive oil changes and somehow it's all on me to fix the when I still owe 13 thousand on the vehicle. No one has helped me with anything not even a rental. This was not my first vehicle I purchased but it will be my last through KIA. It's upsetting I worked hard to get my credit where this was my first car without a cosigner and I have been treated this way. I'm a single mom. How do I fix an engine and pay this loan. Smh don't buy here! I will be contacting BBB and anyone else I can at this point.
Reggie Turner: Avoid or go in prepared and be ready to walk out. We called ahead of time asking for price, got told don't worry about price I will take care of you, best deal no worries. We even got text messages and video message saying same thing. Then we get a message showing price and ask if that's OK. We say yes and drive up there. Boom the car is now 3500 more! When asked why it was different they said it was due to paint and interior protection (normally after market option) we asked why it wasn't mentioned in text? "It's an added option, not part of base price". That's 1500, the other 1k was "market markup" for high demand... the car was a soul, not the newest corvette rolling off the line. We then told them no other dealerships we walked to mentioned it, they said "they will get you in the back, they get their money someway" I called lou fusz from their parking lot, got not only the price but the signed on the dotted line price. Once we said we were done, only then did they want to deal and knock off the price. No thanks, by then you've already lost my business, be upfront when I ask don't do it after I get there and ready to leave. So if you go, just threaten to leave so you can finally get the deal. I just wish they would be upfront.
Linda Tonioli: Should be zero stars. Never go to this dealership. They lie and deceive. Finance department sucks! Never got loan paperwork. They said they were going to mail it but never did. Then they said they were going to email it and never did. Avoided my calls. Never called me back after leaving 10 voice messages. They snuck a warranty on without telling us. Horrible horrible horrible!
