Michelle Chesney: Since we discovered this place several months ago we have made it a once a month spot for dinner.We've tried a couple of other Japanese, cook at your table restaurants in St. Louis and this one is, by far, the best.We always get the Shogun for two. You each get a soup, salad, vegetables, rice, noodles, filet, lobster tail, scallops, shrimp and mushrooms. For us, $90 for all of this is a great deal! We always have leftovers. Oh.. for $3 more you can get fried rice. We love the fried rice. I think it might be all the butter.Kid-friendliness: We brought our four year old granddaughter last time.She loves shrimp. For $10 her kids meal was adult sized.Also, she loved watching the fire.

Benjamin Wolf: It was good, but nothing was special. I've had better elsewhere, for less money. I never have seen a chef ask for help for so long and not get it. The staff were having a great time, at the expense of attending to customers. I had a hard time getting my Wife another cocktail and my ice tea was empty and ignored for over half the meal. Our "table" had a difficult customer, so chef was kinda off game, and we were there for 90 minutes. My Wife was asked once if she wanted another drink... That's crazy. I wasn't asked about my iced tea until I had the waitress called over for my Wife. The chef didn't get all the ingredients and called for help a half a dozen times, no one came. He called for security multiple times (jokingly, but still) no one came. The food was on the grill and he was straight up alone. Was crazy, like we're spending $30+/person for awesome chef and sub-Chile's support staff. They later forgot my whole entrée, was quickly fixed but it was a feel bad as my tenderloin didn't look any different than the people who ordered the combo plates. My Daughter liked the cake. The people next to us ordered the calamari and it came as a single burger like patty, which is not how I wished my calamari would look like.Vegetarian options: They have themDietary restrictions: They take it very seriously. If you say you're allergic to garlic or onion you should know they will not treat your food the same as everyone else. The chef did an above and beyond respecting restrictions.

Kimberly Conard: The family celebrated my grandson's 10th birthday and he really enjoyed himself. Please note, this was NOT his first time there, so kudos to you. However, we had a couple of concerns. We noticed the difference between the amount of food being served at our table vs the table across from ours, which was "a lot less". That means, as a family, we received less food... NOT GOOD! My second concern was once the bill came I noticed the gratuity was more than it should've been! It was for 20%, not 18% as noted on our tickets! The server FAILED to mention the gratuity, therefore, additional money was given, which was so unfair to my family members. Plus the amount of gratuity was calculated after tax NOT before, which I'm sure is illegal.

K. W. B. (Defiant Mouse): I’ve been there twice in a month. The food the first time was ok at best. I ordered a filet mignon (medium) and shrimp. The steak was well done and the shrimp were rubbery. I immediately told the chef my steak was inedible and he ignored me and left the grill. I told everyone who served us, nobody cared. The second time, a couple of days ago, the food was pretty good but the steak was well done again. I will not be going back. The prices are outrageous for the quality of the food. I really miss Robata of Japan. They were amazing.

Ashley Robinson: Kobe has officially upset me. Usually I have a pleasant time here, but the last time I went was horrible. Besides the fact that they charged my 10 year old child for an adult meal. One of the cooks slammed on something and knocked a grease jar over and it splattered all over me and my husband. You can't get grease out unfortunately, so they thought they could make up with taking 50%off my meal....it seemed like it was only tax free...I am not happy

marichat lover200: Today I went with my mother to celebrate my 21st birthday and everything was amazing. The food was delicious and the chef was incredibly funny. I do wish that there was a knife with the fork when we sat down because my mother needed to cut her food up a bit more, but everything else was amazing. I can't wait till we come back.

Michael Larranaga: This is a hard one. The front of the house was horrible. No one knew what was happening, it was awkward, and we almost left.But once you are back it is perfectly fine. Good food. Never done hibachi before. Had allot of fun. Would definitely do again.
