Asia Market: what do users think?
Nikki Coker: Great selection and friendly staff!
Tanya G: I always like coming here to get things I can't find anywhere else. They have a good selection of Asian products and good prices.
Selamawit G.: Went there for first time, found a lot of things we needed. Would totally go back!
Judy White: This place has the best Japanese snacks. Plus, many other Japanese seasonings and such other stores do not carry.
Hickory Stanley: This is the cleanest Asian grocery in town for sure. The price is unbeatable. People work there are very friendly.
Pat Findley: They always have what I need.
Becky Gregory: Always enjoy going to this Korean market! We love anime and they have a lot of snacks from those shows. Very respectful place
Anne Burns: Our first trip this year and everything we wanted was easily located in this wonderful store
Dino Ramic: Nice market for most of your needs
조 준한: The people who work there are so kind and honest, and the price is good compared to other places.
Gregory D: Exceptional experience and I will be going back
Ria Goncalves: Clean, reasonably priced items just didn't have the selection I wanted.
Jo Holbrook: Next place for all your home cooked Asian dishes. The Bubble Tea in a can with Boba is so good
Ray Pratt: This place is clean and reasonably well organized. The staff may be a touch aloof. Certainly not personable, but whatever. The selection is decent but not outstanding. It's very convenient, though, and has the essentials and then some. More so if you're looking for Korean ingredients.
Gary Montgomery: Very friendly staff and helped me find what I needed very quickly. I love the bean sprouts
Namyi Sun (namyisun): Very polite and helpful! Had a nice selection of Korean foods and some misc household items as well.
David Jones: Corner grocer feel. Fresh foods and produce is sparse. But Asian snack selection is wonderful. Good hold over between trips to the larger Asian markets. *tip: walk very close to the door as the sensor won't pick you up at normal range.
Retzel: Seems well stocked with all the essential Asian / Korean items. Lots of staff around cleaning and keeping things nice. Friendly.
Lily: Good selection for Korean items. Some things are more expensive than bigger Asian marts but it is clean and has many items that other marts don't have since it's mainly Korean focused
Kathy W: Perfect place to come for Asian groceries. I buy a lot of staples here: bok choy, soy sauce, shrimp.
Jean Duckworth: One of my favorite places in all of STL for Asian groceries. While it is mainly Korean goods (as you can tell by the Korean language on the tenant sign), I have gone in plenty of times finding Japanese, Chinese, and Thai goods. While it is smaller than some of the other international markets in the STL area, that is one of its greatest positives. I find myself getting lost in the larger markets trying to find an item that you think is in one place but is actually in another or running into employees not knowing where specific items are located at because there are so many products in their stores. When I go to Asia Market, I never run into those issues. It’s easy to find what you are looking for and if you are looking for something specific, the employees know exactly where it is. Highly recommend!

Universal Food Market ( Cho Phu Yen ): what do users think?
4_Ever _Gr8teful: Small selection. Been looking for alternatives since seafood city closed. They are an ok store. Not very large selection of items. Big store but only half of it's in use.
James Fowler: This place is awesome! They have live seafood and an eclectic collection of authentic Asian staples and treats. You can also find kitchen tools and handmade snacks and meals.
Ana Pavon: Muy bonito lugares
jackson LGXYZ !: it’s a not well kept, rusting on products, place where crabs are kept is so dirty the people were okay though the black tilapia wasn’t bad either
Ramón Semanat: Fresh and clean
Refugio M Rochin: So far it’s been a find for a few of the items I seek to keep myself in balance. It’s a niche grocery store. Although the S. Broadway locale has been somewhat dilapidated, the store is airy. It’s really due to those few niche things that I’m putting it a little higher on my list than when I first located to Missouri.
Gwendolyn Simpson: Very racist. Unwilling to sell black people. Horrible experience, smell is bad. Asked if they had any tea In stock, found bunch of tea when asked about it the lady said she didn't want to sell to me. If you are black stay away!!
carlos rodriguez: Food is too expensive. Las cosas son demaciado caras 🤷‍♂️
Dhaval Desai: Expensive and not much choices.
Matthew Ota: Not a "Universal" food market. Chinese foods only.
Terrence Sennie: Looks like I found a new grocery store for my different spices
Timothy Ema: Great Chinese supermarket
Dan Jenkins: Just a different culture nothin wrong with that, wasn't for me
Deanna Miles: They're super nice and helpful here!
your mother: Pretty good selection, not for everyone but perfect for me! It’s the only place in St. Louis I’ve found so far that carries some of the Asian coffee products I love, and they’re saving me from having to get them shipped to me.
Mitch Rong Li: The sea food and meats not fresh, it looks thousands year old. Most is Frozen food .
MaryJ Wanna2: Nothing personal but the Asian food store usually doesn't have anything I can actually eat. We went to check out the alexian brothers hospital which is now dissolved into south City and stopped in as we had never been to universal food Mart. This place however did sell basically Werther's originals. Was able to get my boys a large bottle of soy sauce at a good price. Also the staff was nice. I usually go in these places for a good deal on knives. Stock up on those and I'll be back. I do recommend for those who like this type of food as the staff is sweet.
K Young: The store was clean and easy to navigate. They have a good variety of products at a reasonable price.
Jeffrey Schenk: I haven't been there in a while it's a lot like Jay's international food on South Grand, also like Seafood City in University City. It's actually the first time I have been there since before the pandemic. I went in there hoping to find some oysters in a shell they didn't have any. I spoke with the gentleman working the register he says I still get them in every once in a while but not on a regular basis. A friend of mine wants me to teach her how to shuck oysters because I used to shuck oysters at the Broadway oyster bar when I was 15. I believe I might have to go to seafood City to see if they have some oysters. If anyone knows where to get live oysters in the shell please let me know thanks.
Robin Manning: Smelled horrible, shelves were empty

China Town Market: what do users think?
Bernard Little: Hard working people. Clean store, good selection!
Williams Jimmy: A great place to find authentic ingredients for Oriental cuisine.
Doug Bullock: Nice to place to visit while the big store is closed
Patrice Brinkman: Great shopping. Good variety of products. Will shop there often.
C Last: Fast in and out, when you get there at night you can back to the dock when facing the docks, take the left one. The right one is broken, and local drivers know it so they will jump ahead of you😃 Not knowing isn’t a excuse😩 Now you know, thank me later. Otherwise in and out
R H: Don't go there unless what you need is sold out at other Asian grocery stores. I only went there to check because what I needed was sold out at another store. Almost every time I went, it was an insulting experience. All the cashiers, including the owner there have a toxic attitude as if they consume dynamite every day. You don't even need to hear them talk. It's so strong that you can sense it near the store. Several years ago, there was a female cashier there pulling a long face as if you stepped on her tail once you stepped into the store. Today at check out, I got out my credit card and asked the old man if I could tap, he mumbled something insulting. I asked if he understood English. He snapped saying "Does it surprise you that I don't understand English?!" I said, "No. I was just asking to make sure. You don't need to talk to me with that attitude". He snapped again retorting, "Your attitude is nowhere near good, either! I'm just selling you stuff." Simply avoid this toxic place unless you enjoy being insulted!
Daisy Yen: Very neat and no odors like most oriental grocery store. Good selection of products. Somewhat pricier than other stores.
Megan Carroll: Nice variety and can't beat the prices.
Liangjie Wu: I so love shopping here, there vegetables alway fresh with great price, clean store, nice staff.
Paul Bass: China Town market is second to none. The only place I go to get what I need when I make Chinese dishes at home.
Bob Reneau: Fresh vegetables
Terrence Sennie: They had some interesting things other than just spices as to my reason for going here
Bruce Miskell: Never been in there , But look cool inside.
AAA: I didn’t get itemized receipts nor their register is too old to show what I buy so couldn’t know what I purchased. When I purchased vegi and meat, lady covered and pushed with her hands over scale twice. I thought that is weird and looking at the scale and register if it shows any number. Then she talked to me all of sudden to distract me. Buying 4 items costs $68 is definitely weird. Never would come back again. Me Non Chinese doesn’t mean you can do sketchy business.
TK: Amazing clean store. Everything was neatly organized and we felt like the owners take great care in stocking the store with good quality products. Also, the owner was super friendly and assured us about an item that we had few questions about. We will be coming to this store regularly.
Karmen Christlieb: Great place to get Asian goods and produce they have good quality products. The owners are always friendly to us when we go in and are very helpful if you have a question. I like to buy many of my ingredients for making kimchi here. I also am excited that I am able to buy boxes of mooncakes when it is around the Mid Autumn Festival.I buy all of my tea here.
helen wolenter: Had everything I was looking for and SO MUCH MORE!!
don mccormick: A small market with merchandise that I needed. Products are staples of the Asian cuisines!
dustin watkins: Smaller, but also affordable
CosmicCake: Lots of good ingredientsThough many of the packaged pastries like tarts and macrons are nothing like what is on the box and not very pleasant to eatThe grilled squid chips r good tho
keanu Souza-Koprowski: Great prices , had everything I was looking for. From Hawaii so we always looking for ingredients. Great customer service. Got this large steamer only 20 bucks to make charsiu bao/manapua

World Market - Cho Quoc Te: what do users think?
Morrigan Carpenter: I love their weekend Boba drinks and smoothies! Yum!
CJ Lockett: Like it so much
Jason Graham: Great variety of Asian foods, but oddly offers basic items you’d get from Walmart (branded). Overall it is worth going and getting some herbs, vegetables, and some seafood.
beast mode team: Love finding fun, unique things
Jacob Hall: Lovely
Heidi: Fantastic shop! Bubble waffles 12/10 😋
S T: Limited selection of fish and groceries. In-house food pickup counter and pharmacy is a plus. Some of the aisles is missing price tags and be prepared to get surprised at the billing.
Long Nguyen: I recently visited this Vietnamese supermarket and was thoroughly impressed with the selection of products they had to offer. From fresh produce to meat, seafood, and pantry staples, they had a wide variety of Vietnamese and Asian ingredients that I had trouble finding elsewhere. The store was clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate, which made my shopping experience a pleasant one. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they were able to assist me in finding certain items that I was looking for. Additionally, they had a great selection of pre-made Vietnamese snacks and meals that were delicious and convenient. Overall, I would highly recommend this Vietnamese supermarket to anyone who is interested in exploring new ingredients and cooking up some authentic Vietnamese dishes at home
Amanda Rodewald: Terribly impressed by our first trip here, and somewhat embarrassed to have waited so long to walk the three blocks from our house to check it out. In the past, my go-to Asian market has always been Jay's International, but this place has everything they carry and so much more.I'm not just talking about the parking either, although that has traditionally been my only serious complaint about Jay's. The parking lot here is more than accomodating, but that's the least of their advantage. Much like American grocery chains now supply, they also have an in-store pharmacy (search for TJ Pharmacy), locally owned and operated instead of just a mask hiding a national chain. The building also houses Joyful House Vietnamese Cuisine and Seafood, which offers dine-in, pickup or delivery and should brighten the lives of those still mourning the loss of Pho Grand.Still, those are just the accessories; what really sets this place apart from most "World Market" stores is the fresh food section in back. I'm not just talking about produce either, although the area's size, selection and quality put Aldi and Schnucks to shame. Our visit was partially in hopes of finding the fresh celery necessary; not only did we find it, but the price was more than reasonable and it was far and away the best celery we've ever had. I honestly never thought I'd have need of the phrase "best celery," but it really was qualtitatively better in every way.If you're like most people though, you won't be able to properly focus on their product until you marvel at their seafood selection and multitude of meats. Never mind the tanks which are home to live catfish as big as my leg, the binfull of blue-claw crabs (a regular feature on Saturdays, I'm told, although other days bring other fresh treasures from the ocean; ask the guys in back for a full schedule, I've forgotten what they told me), and the rest of the incredible array of fish and crustaceans available. They also have have whole chickens and ducks, and another 20 yards or so of packaged meats that I've forgotten, driven from my mind by the small freezer case demanding that you ask for assistance when selecting your ox-tail. Honestly, I've never had ox-tail before, and I'm not certain I'd particularly like to change that, but I love the idea of shopping at a store that sells it.Top all this off with some of the friendliest, happiest staff I've ever encountered in a grocery store, and what you have is hands-down the best international food market I've ever visited. This is the kind of store that a cultural melting pot like South City deserves, and I'm proud to say I live within walking distance. Next time, I promise I'll ask how to properly (or at least inoffensively) pronounce Cho Quoc Te, and maybe even ask for a translation, because this place definitely deserves a better name than "World Market."
Tin Ten Roll: Great selection and price of Vietnamese items and seafood, premade food was just ok, but you cannot ask much for that price. I just have a couple of feedbacks I want to mention1. The baskets are not the cleanest, especially when you put groceries and foods in them which is not very sanitary.2. I’ve been here many times with my partner and I found the girl at the cashier was quite rude to me. She didn't say thank you and even showed an attitude toward me. I also work in customer service, I don’t think it’s that hard to be nice to your customer since you cannot make money without them.
Erin Jayne: We live a half block from this establishment and unfortunately had never gone in. I needed celery for a soup I was making and decided we'd walk up there and see what they had. I was not expecting what I experienced. Their fresh produce and meats/seafood selection puts large chain grocers to shame. They have everything you'd expect from an international grocer, plus hundreds of things you may never seen before. I moved from the southernmost county of NJ to St. Louis 7 years ago. When my wife came to NJ the first time, I made her a fresh seafood platter, but I didn't bother with blue claw crabs... and I've been lamenting it since. Wouldn't you know it, they had a table of "pick your own" live blue claws not a thousand feet from our home. (The seafood employee said they come in on Saturdays and they also get live crayfish) They have live fishes, fishes on ice, (snapper, striper, tilapia, flounder, etc) shellfish (oysters, clams, dungeness crabs, etc.) Even an on site kitchen/restaurant. Now that I know, I will be returning... Often.
scotty j: Variety of Asian market items and fresh fish and other grains and goods and spices
Khang Mai: This store is selling expired coconut water and spoiled Che Thai on the restaurant side. I would check everything you get before you buy.
Kevin Miller: Anything else you want/need from a cultural grocery store.
Anitra Boone: Great food very delicious. attitude of the workers though(some not all could use a little work) other than that very lovely place to eat very organized. Did I mention the food is smwuah!!! Chefkiss
Annie Wilson: There’s really a lot packed into this place: housewares, pharmacy, restaurant (open weekends only), wet market (seafood), produce, pantry staples, and more. Most of the products seem to be from Vietnam or Thailand, but I saw a few African products. To me, the snack and instant noodle selection was great — there were things I hadn’t seen elsewhere and I could get singles of an item instead of a whole pack. There’s a lot of frozen food. (We didn’t bring a cooler and wish we did!) The drink selection was small and there is no alcohol sales. But considering that there’s a pharmacy *and* a restaurant inside the store, I’m okay with that. The grab and go section had both familiar and new-to-me items. Overall a good trip!
Robert Cole: This is one of the most amazing newer Asian markets in the city. They also have, you know, a restaurant side. Just shut up and shop here, it's divine. Between here and Jay's the neighborhood got it made.
Matt Alvino: Came here looking for seafood for a boil. Of the multiple markets I went to, this one had the best crawfish by far. They had a ton of them and most were still alive. All survived a few hours at home before we boiled them. Met a very friendly staffer while confused on how to even start picking the crawfish. He pointed out the bags and then stirred them up so I could more easily identify the live ones. He then walked me over to the mussels, which was also exceptionally helpful. They only had frozen, but all other marts had frozen or simply deal "fresh" mussels. Will be back to explore in the future. Highly recommend trying here if you are in the city before making the trek out to the better know shops in U-city.
Rudy Powell: They were nice and friendly in this place!!!
PapaWoof Roth: Great selection and they're grab and go foods they have on the weekend are awesome
Khuong Nguyen: Great place to get fresh durian!
