Roxie Scales: Twilight Tuesday Switchecd to Thursday! It got even better
Kitty Conroy: We went to a Twilight Thursday concert event and it was just wonderful! The band rocked and the weather was great. We walked around the museum and checked out the food trucks. It brought back lots of memories when we put out our blanket, laid down, and listened to the music. At ages 60+ we hadn't done this in awhile. But the music genre that evening brought us there and so glad we did. For those of you who need a clean and convenient bathroom you could walk right in to the front of the building. Plus it also gave us the opportunity to look around and cool off a little. We will be back!
Kenya Taylor: I love the History Museum... my children had their first jobs here and I really appreciate the community engagement the museum has. Lazy and lack of empathy is what I felt from her. Also their website needs to clarify that reservations are required as many visitors had no clue.

We googled black museums in STL and this one came up. We visited the Griot on Saturday early afternoon there was no wait, I did not know you havw to purchase tickets on the website, they cannot be purchased at the door, but the lady at the counter was super nice, she gave a little background on the museum and the founder, Mrs. Conley was sitting behind the counter! I told her I felt like I was standing in front of greatness! She did an amazing job with the museums, the exhibits are so interesting and you can even complete a little scavenger hunt to make sure you were paying attention. Overall, it eas a great experience, I will definitely visit again once my son is a little older and he can truly comprehend our wonder and rich history!

Wildcat 6319: Glad we were able to include this place on our itinerary…allow yourself a couple of hours to see it all. Definitely train-centric, but still quite interesting. For an extra couple bucks you can ride the 100 year old trolley and the miniature train.I especially want to thank Dick…one of the volunteers. Upon seeing our interest in some of the classic sleeper cars, he gave my wife and I an “insider’s tour”. Very cool, and he was friendly, knowledgeable, and even gave us recommendations and directions to a great lunch spot in Kirkwood. One suggestion: you have a pretty active rail line right out back…maybe you could build an elevated viewing platform?

Holly Kinser: I love bringing my 1.5 year old here! Tons of things to do for kids of all ages, with a great mix of indoor and outdoor spaces. Admission is very reasonable given that it is such a large place and very well maintained. Never feels too crowded and the staff and volunteers are so friendly and nice. We have been a few times and still feel like we have a lot left to see!
Asif Siddiqi: Most go place in SL.
Rachel Rawlings: We got rained on so didn't get to see everything. But we are definite coming back!!!
Dawn Leuchtmann: It's not a bad experience, but it's expensive for what you get. The old vehicles inside the museum were interesting to look at. The trains outside can't be accessed, and you can't see inside them. There are far fewer trains than what is claimed on Google information (the listing said 70, I didn't see 70, maybe I overlooked some in between all the nothing). There was 1 plane (excluding small models). The miniature train ride is fun for small kids but costs extra. All the employees were nice and helpful, and the grounds are pretty and clean. Overall, it's not what I expected for a place with the name National Museum of Transportation. If you have the money and are looking for a way to kill an hour with your kids with no real expectations, it's a decent place to take them.

The Field House Museum: what do users think?
Cynthia Raufmann: New to the area, so called ahead from Chesterfield, west of the city to inquire if they were open- was told yes, then asked about parking and was told even though there was a game, they had spaces for museum guests. After fighting game traffic to get there, trying to find the right parking lot, getting in and only after paying I was informed the house was closed- the reason I came and which I called ahead about!! They had a few exhibits I was not interested in and was able to be refunded. I was told about another mansion tour nearby, but because of a parade on the same day could not find a way to it. Several hours wasted!!

Tim Carpenter: The birthplace of Eugene Fields (1850) known as "The Children's Poet". 3 story building contains several pieces of furnishings of that time. Eugene's Father Roswell was a lawyer that represented Dred and Harriett Scott in their quest for freedom by utilizing a unique legal challenge. It is located just South of Busch Stadium on South Broadway. Daily tours are available Wednesday through Sunday.

Heidi Martin: Went to see the Annie Malone exhibit at the Eugene Field House. Both of them are St. Louis treasures. Kudos to Linda Nance for preserving this history of a remarkable woman. Glad we saw it.
Charla Myles: Customer service -1!!!Planned a Mother's Day outing for 5/8/21, confirmed that the museum would be open a day before. Went down with family at 2p...museum was closed!!! I left a message and received a call on 5/9/21 and explained the situation. The lady apologized and said she'd give me tickets for $7 per person... how insulting. Your attendant confirmed that the museum would be open and a decision was made to close due to staff shortage... the least you could do would be to give your VISITOR a guest pass!!! Poor customer service!!!
Carol Davis-McDonald: Visited a very interesting exhibit of Annie Malone memorabilia in the adjacent administrative building. Would like to go back for a tour of the house.
charisse baker-ingram: Great exhibit honoring Annie Malone
Anne Blackburn: I attended a Daughters of the American Revolution event where the building and its historical significance was honored. The museum staff was great. It is a treat to visit.

Amy K.: Fascinating local history in a beautifully restored home.

Whether you have a few hours or a full day, you’ll find activities to please every member of your party. Attractions include the Tram Ride to the Top of the Gateway Arch, the Museum at the Gateway Arch (opened July 3, 2018), a documentary film about the construction of the Arch, shopping at The Arch Store, a new Arch Cafe, and cruises aboard the Riverboats at the Gateway Arch. Leigh Damaske: Wonderful history. Nice place to visit. Make sure to check which days they run everything before toy go.
Heather Burchett: This museum was very well done and interesting for all ages.
Chris Smith: This place no longer exists. It is closed due to Covid and also, they moved the content to the Gateway Arch museum. I was really looking forward to the Lewis and Clark content, but that has been toned down and made more focused on St Louis being the hub of westward expansion. Also, I carry a pocket knife and pepper spray ( have a CCW but don't carry) and they wouldn't allow that at the Gateway Arch Museum. They said they can throw my stuff away or I can put it in my car, a mile away ($100 of stuff in the garbage, no thanks). The terrorists have won lol. What a pain. They should offer a storage option, charge $5 for a locker or something.
Jason Davis: This is a great free exhibit. But the most interesting thing is the building itself. Museum at the Arch has the same information better presented.
amanda rogers: Lots to see here, beautiful museum, the rotunda is gorgeous. Some videos and lots of information about Dred Scott and his wife and their fight for freedom.
Diane Church: Loved it! Lewis and Clark story is just the beginning of this museum.
Jeremy Genin: Top notch! Excellent spot to hear and learn about the history of St. Louis. Popular tourist spot!
Ashley H: My fiancé and I stopped here on the way home from a trip to check it out! Had a blast even though it was raining!

Cashea S.: The park is small, but appropriately so due to the location and history of the home. The visitor center is clean and tidy. Staff are eager and helpful. The home itself is a guided tour. I can't speak to that because being a former park ranger, I just really don't like listening to tours now. So if you do the tour, I don't have any suggestions. The grounds are well maintained and pleasant. The museum part of it is a lot of reading, but broken up into sections. This is a few free site, so no need for your passes. It is a one and done park though. No reason to truly stop back in.

Ryan Leigh Runyon: I enjoyed visiting this site, and especially the detail provided by our tour guide. Tours are offered on the hour, and it is the only way to be able to see the inside of White Haven, the home on the property.Tours begin in the main building, which has a gift shop, a space for programs, and a rotating, supplement exhibit. Additionally, there is a small museum separate from the main building that you initially enter. There is a small parking area, including handicapped accessible spaces. White Haven is only partially handicapped -accessible, but there is ramp access to a portion of the home and the outbuildings. By far, the information shared by the guide was the best part of our tour.
