Olivia Olson: I have been trying to receive the rest of the money in my daughters account for over 6 months now. And I spoken to Kendra on the phone 6 months ago promising to refund my money but I never received it. Since then no one will answer my phone calls or my voicemails I have left. I have even gone to the gym and told the front desk which wasn’t Kendra at the time that I needed a refund on the balance and the lady took my name and number promising Kendra would call me back. Well Kendra hasn’t done so! This place is a scam when it comes to lying about refunding account balances back to the parents. Im so fed up with this! It’s not right that you do this to people! If I could they would receive zero stars.

They not only teach solid gymnastics skills and techniques, they also focus on core values including self esteem and supporting each other. My daughter has grown so much from being a part of this family! My son also participates at Spirits through their ninja program that pushes him physically while having a great time!

Today I checked the FaceBook group on my lunch break and saw a post from the owner (I think) thanking members for essentially attacking a man for having concerns with the gym. The comments accused him of many things, but I couldn’t find his post because they deleted it. I know this man and his wife and others in his family have posted asking for cameras to be turned on for a live stream, a common pain point for the gym.I couldn’t believe the gaslighting they did to this man who was just trying to see his child(ren) perform while he works from home.My husband and I are now looking for another gym because of this incident as we feel it’s very important to have standards and this gross over reach is a violation of our values.

Brandi Arendes: If I could give a 0 i would! Professionalism is non existent. There is no structure on leveling up and the owner's behavior is atrocious. If you care about the fundamentals and having your child grow in the sport this place isn't for you. If you need a babysitting service for an hour while you run errands then this place (I almost said establishment but that would insinuate they have an actual smooth running business) may suffice.

Andrew Thompson: When Spirits offered a 2 week trial, we signed up our then 3 year old daughter for classes. The gym as nice, the coaches were good, staff was pretty friendly. Our main concern was that we wanted a gym that offered live streams so that I and other members of my family could watch my daughter. I was assured that this service was provided for each and every class.Not a week has gone by that we haven't had to call, post in their private group, or go to the front desk to have the cameras turned on.After 4 months and repeated instances of politely asking the service that was most important to us be followed up on, we decided to ask for a refund since we paid for a yearly membership in full.I made a post in their private group about the cameras and was promptly told to give my daughter space and to chill. When the comments turned to personal attacks on me by some other members, the owner deleted the post and then made a post thanking other members for coming to the defense of the gym.However, the gym wasn't attacked in any way. Spirits Gymnastics took my money for a yearly membership and promptly stopped providing one of the key services we sought and then sicced the dogs on us when expressing frustration.Though the fix was easy (turn on the camera for hte live stream), we were given every excuse and told we shouldn't expect it, though again, it was the key reason we chose Spirits in the first place.Additionally, there is no structure for graduating from one class to the next. There are no progress reports or individual practice regimens to do from home to graduate to a more advanced class, something many other local gyms do in order to progress its students.If you're looking for a budget gym that will watch your kids for an hour while you go do errands, I suppose this'll do, but if you truly care about the development of your children into competitive athletes and being able to support them through their journeys, this isn't the gym for you.

Kristen Kish: Payton started back in March 2019 and she has had the best coach's ever. Her 1st coach in her sparklers class was very helpful. As Payton moved up we needed a coach that would keep Challenging her and Coach Chanda introduced us to coach Xia. We have adored coach Xia as well. She has pushed her to be the best she can be and has noticed all of her potential. When I Express my concerns they listen and communicate back with me. Since March she has leveled up 2 times in just in one class. Kendra is also so sweet and understanding when I have to change my schedules around. Everyone is very positive, energetic and active with all the kids! Couldn't ask for a better place for my daughter to start.Now my son has started in beginner Tumbling and Coach Chanda has all the Patience in the world. Not only do they teach the little ones gymnastics but they teach the responsibility, respect, determination and accountability. my son has only been going for 1 month and I can already see a change in his behavior and he is so happy when he has accomplished a goal.

The instructors were not instructing until the party was almost over. They were supposed to serve food but they seemed confused about serving pizza. I ended up taking charge and helping. They also did not serve the kids the ice cream I bought with the cake.But the facility was nice and the activities were fun. Overall it was okay.

nadeen mohammed: my daughter started going to Barron gymnastics about two months ago, so far she has came home almost every single time from Darren complaining about how disrespectful all the workers are. I find it very unprofessional that they hire 16 year olds to teach my daughter who is trying to become a professional gymnast. I have tried to talk to them about this but one of the workers Marissa was extremely cruel towards me and my daughter. And she told us that she wouldn’t give us a refund even though my daughter did not learn a single thing, and then continue to give me unbelievable attitude. As being an Afghanistan veteran I do not like to put up with disrespect like this and being disrespected by younger people like this over some gymnastics is uncanny. my daughter has been to many different gymnastics places and so far we are going to go back to the gymnastic center which is far better than Barron gymnastics they are much more cooperative and my daughter lives way more. The only reason why we had to change was because it would have been faster to go to Barron but since Baron did approve much to me we’re going to go back to where we were. I strictly do not recommend this place at all unless your child is three years old or younger. Most these kids can’t even do a forward roll and they are six years old. These teenager teachers know nothing.

All three of our kids started here when they started walking and love learning new skills in each level. And even in the parent and tot class kids are exposed to more gymnastic skills than other junior programs we have seen in other gyms. This is also one of the few activities that accommodates multiple kids. Any busy family knows getting two practices within the same hour is a GAME CHANGER! Barron is family owned and the owners are involved in teaching classes on top of being an owner. Our family loves Barron!

Within the first month of her being back my 3 year old little girl was already getting bullied by a bigger and older child and end up having a huge knot on her head. They DO NOT enforce their no hitting/bullying policy especially when it pertains to “certain” children. Ive seen them handle bullying differently in the past but nothing was done when it came to my child. Me and my husband’s concerns were completely dismissed. And I refuse to pay for my toddler to get BULLIED. I paid almost 200.00 just to re-enroll her and now I cant even get in contact with anyone. I tired asking for the Director and no one will even call me back they are completely trying to sweep this issue under the rug. If you have children of COLOR I don't recommend this gym as their is obviously unfair treatment taking place. Policies and rules should be enforced fairly not dependent on the “child”. Instead of responding to this review I would love for someone to call me and my husband and address our concerns for our child’s safety with fairness. Thank you

Christian Luetkemeyer: Original review: We took my daughter here to join the team. There was space on the team. She went to three weeks of classes. Everyone was happy until one of the coaches asked my daughter to work in her leotard without shorts, even though she had been wearing shorts for weeks. My wife tried to discuss it with the coaches, but from that point on, she was uninvited. They said there was no room on the team anymore, even though when she called in to discuss, the staff on the phone (who wasn't aware of what happened) said there were actually spaces on the team. She couldn't even join the other team where they had offered her a spot because they were also conveniently out of spaces now.I'm glad we didn't end up here, because anywhere with an issue over an 8 year old wanting to wear gymnastics shorts is not a safe place.Edit post response: from the USAG regulations:"5) Shorts: must be solid black (small manufacturer’s branding allowed) with no embellishments. Shorts must be worn over a leotard and the length must be above the knee or shorter."1) "Not Allowed" is no longer the case. USA Gymnastics is the one who sets those rules, correct? They announced this change over a year ago. Is it standard for such a "top tier gym" to be so behind on the rules changes nationally? Can you give me one good reason why a girl can't wear shorts in your gym when it's allowed nationally at competitions?2) Your claim of available spaces for coach ratios don't line up when we call the gym AFTER we've been told that there are no spaces and the actual employee on the phone says that there are. We also checked with the other team that had spots multiple spots available, and they magically, simultaneously all filled up after we had been there for 3 weeks?Sorry, that doesn't add up.I'll continue to repost this if my review doesn't seem to show up when I have third party people go to google and can't see it.

A W: We've had 3 girls go through Team Central. They started in the classes and went on to either the JO or Xcel teams. We now have been with the TC family for almost a decade. The coaches can be demanding, but it's to make the kids better and keep them safe. All of the coaches we've interacted with care about the gymnasts, are experts at what they do, and want to see the gymnasts succeed. Thank you, TC!

Jen Riley: 3 of my daughters are gymnasts at Team Central; 2 on the competitive team and one in the team prep class. We have been doing gymnastics at TC since 2020 and absolutely LOVE everything about it! Staff is wonderful, accommodating and kind to us. The coaches are high-quality and very educated in their craft. My girls progress in their skills and have so much fun at every practice/class. All 3 of my girls have come so far since we started at TC and I am so grateful for the gymnastics, life skills and confidence that they learn/gain from the opportunities they have at TC. We wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!

Jamie Luetkemeyer: There are two things that disappointed me greatly about our experience with Team Central. First, I did not get the sense that I was being communicated with honestly. That is the most important thing because it so very important to trust the people our young athletes spend so much time with, who are responsible for the safety of children, and who have as much influence as coaches have. I value honesty, and it just really seemed like something was off about what I was being told.The other problem is that even though usag allows gymnasts to compete in shorts, leggings, or tights with no score deduction, Team Central does not allow their athletes that option in competition and seems to strongly discourage it in practice. The gym my daughter had to leave when we moved allowed their athletes to wear shorts in competition if they chose even years back when it resulted in a small score deduction. The coach there said they cared about the gymnasts’ safety, form, comfort, effort, and growth. And so if the athlete chose to wear shorts and take the deduction, that was okay with her as the coach. I hope more gyms develop that attitude including Team Central.Every gym can make improvements. I hope Team Central will change their shorts/leggings policy in the very near future out of respect for the athletes. The honesty thing I do sincerely hope was a misunderstanding on my part. It was at the very least poor communication choices that resulted in the appearance of dishonesty. I am happy that we have found a different gym that I do trust and that follows the same dress code as usag. And I look forward to hearing about positive changes at Team Central.

Dawon Moore: Concordia Turners is an old and run down family/community center that's in desperate need of a make over. Their system is pretty repetitive every year, with the same ol board members making decisions for the place. New blood with fresh ideas is needed, badly. The fees are ridiculously high, considering that everything is outdated. You're better off joining the YMCA.

Lisa Berman: We've been members here for many years. I pay less than $80 TOTAL for 2 kids to do competitive gymnastics in a USA Gymnastics gym. This is unheard of pricing and it's the only competitive gymnastics program in St. Louis City. My kids also take sport stacking and could take dance and martial arts if we had time for that. All the athletic classes are included in the price.

Nancy Birkenmeier: Olympia Gymnastics Rock Hill is a great place for kids!! My daughter started here a little over a year ago, she's grown from a beginning gymnast to joining the competitive team. Olympia Rock Hill is a loving, nurturing and encouraging environment. The staff is friendly and does an excellent job communicating with parents. Both my kids enjoyed summer camp this year, they loved the mini field trips to the library and the playground, along with all the other fun activities planned throughout the day. One of my kids most favorite things are the monthly Kids Night Out events, each month has a different fun theme...it's a win-win, kids have a blast and parents get a night out! My kids are sad when we have other plans that conflict with KNO and we have to skip a month.

Maureen Sansone: Four of my kids have attended classes at Olympia, including team, Kinderbees, parent/tot and progressive. We have had a wonderful experience in all the classes.

It’s open and I love that I can see everything from the lobby area. Every staff member is so kind and helpful! The Kid’s Night Out and Fun Friday events are AMAZING and my kids have the best time! They have so much to offer and we have always had nothing but positive experiences there.

Stacy Finnerty: Last summer my son went to what was explained to be a ninja camp for a week. It is a very small space and there were ALOT of kids. A lot of small kids. When we got there the first day, it was crazy. Little kids running all over, no organization. Then he told me that it was like that the whole time and there was nothing ninja about it. Will not go back.

Caity Lueken: Highly highly recommend Miss Kelley’s for kids birthday party! We had my sons 2nd birthday party there and had kids aged from 7 months to 5 years and they ALL had a blast! Rachel and Erika did an AMAZING job running the party and doing literally everything from set up to clean up. It was nice to sit back and relax and watch my son have fun! The facility is super clean and it’s so private, we had the whole place for a great price! We will be back!

Many of the kids had short attention spans so it was great to have that flexibility. The staff was very professional and super helpful. It was so nice to sit back while they handed out the food and drinks. I would highly recommend this for a toddler birthday party. We will be back for sure!

Ebony unused hacked account Brown: Decided to check the facility out because my daughter is 5 years old and was interested. My sister and I walked in and were treated rudely.As black women, she looked at us in disgust and decided that our money wasn’t worth taking. I could not think of any other reason than my race why we were not assisted.The lack of professionalism and bad customer service the woman on 08/17/2021 this evening was disappointing.We decided to go through with another gym. We do not recommend anyone coming here based on the discrimination. I will be reporting Facebook and BBB next.

Sean Hitt: If you are looking for a great gym to take your kids to, look no further than Miss Kelly's. I brought my 4 and 6 year old in for an open gym to try it out and they were absolutely thrilled with it. The kids had such a great time at the open gym I signed both up for classes. The teachers are great with the kids and seem very happy to be there teaching gymnastics. I look forward to booking a birthday party soon and utilizing the many camp options they offer as well. Excellent job Miss Kelly's!

Rainier Edwards: I had my daughter’s first birthday party there this past weekend and we couldn’t have been more pleased! She had the time of her life and so did all of the kids who ranged from 8 months to 6 years old. The two women who hosted helped soooo much and I never had to ask for anything because they were on it! They did a really good job engaging the kids and making the party flow seamlessly! My husband and I are very happy we chose Ms Kelly’s, and look forward to enrolling our daughter in one of the programs.

My son also loves the summer camps. The teachers are all so sweet and nurturing; non-competitive environment perfect for little ones!

Prajna B: Not worth the money. It did not work out for my kid who is a 2 year old toddler. The teacher to student ratio is very bad .. they should have had it like a day care - 1:7. But its almost 1:15 which is very bad for a 2 year old. The teacher harldy finds time to spend 5min w/ each student or rather I should say not even a minute with mine!!!! The circle time is a good one, but most of the time is spent there, the acitivites are not that great either. And for the gym, it was always chaos !! Toddlers running here and there and the teacher harldy could get their attention. It may be good for kids who stay at home and want to have something for the weekend or that evening. But, my kid already goes to the daycare, where she gets the exposure to the circle times, songs and better activities. I was looking for more for thw gym acitivty which was lacking.I have enrolled her based on the great reviews, may it worked out for others but definetly not for me. It was a waste of my time and money.
