Jewel Box: what do users think?
Kyle Neely: Not much variety and different than what it used to be. Seems like it was redesigned to focus more on events and less on showcasing cool plants. Spent maybe 5 minutes in here and saw it all. Not worth $1. Cool architecture though and a classic building.
Rodney Cabotage: Great place for photos and very kept up
Nevin Marshall: This so seriously cool I wish Kansas City would have something up that would even come close to this
Aliyah Dawson: Beautiful garden! Such a nice place to sit and enjoy the plants
Bharadhwaj Sairam (Brad): Had a great experience.
C. Wang: Beautiful
Katrina Goff: I was expecting something more with the remodeling. The building is pretty but the plants were a disappointing. I'm sure it's nice for an event or a wedding. The fountain in the center is a waste of space and water runs all over the floor.
Kate: Wonderful quick stroll and view of beautiful plants you can’t grow in a garden in the Midwest Plus the staff guy was super nice! Also epic potential for intimate wedding vibes
Jim Roedder: This is no longer of any interest to children. It is now an event center for adults. The makeover it got took away all the charm it once had.
Carondelet Kitchen: The Jewel Box in Forest Park is a lovely horticultural greenhouse with lovely displays throughout the year. They are open:Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.Saturday, from 9 to 11 a.m.Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.mAdmission is $1 per person, but it is free on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon.A lovely treat inside and out, especially in late Spring and summer when the lily pond is active and the outdoor flowers are bursting in bloom!A Saint Louis treat in beautiful Forest Park.
Nichole Schnelting: I had my wedding here on February 4, 2023 and it was perfect. I got so many compliments on the venue. The man working on the night of my rehearsal was very kind and knowledgeable when I had questions. The doors were even open early for both my rehearsal and wedding, and that was so appreciated with it being chilly outside. I would 100% recommend having your wedding ceremony at the Jewel Box.
Monet Cooper: Absolutely beautiful place
Eric: Nice, small greenhouse with several varieties of trees and plants, worth the small admission fee
deependablereviews: Great space for an event with all the plants hanging about. There are bathrooms in the back and down the stairs. The history of the place is also really cool as it dates back to 1916! It does cost $1 to walk around the place on a normal day but it’s worth it. The lily pond out front is also fun to walk around. The grounds are kept up beautifully.
Ben Bryant: Very cool building and well taken care of. It recently had restoration work done. We went on a Monday morning and had the building to ourselves. Very cool plants inside and lily ponds and more outside.
Andrew Smith: I had not been to the Jewel Box for 50 years and enjoyed our quick visit. I would not go out of the way to visit as it can be seen in 10-15 minutes but for the $1.00 entry fee it was perfect for filling up a brief break we had in our day. We were in the area and needed something to do for a half hour and this was perfect.
Madeline Walega: I had my ceremony at the jewel box at 12-1:30 on June 18th. I am nothing less than horrified at the way that things were handled. We were never told that we had to wear masks three days before the wedding. We were okay with it but this was only the first obvious sign of horrible management. I arrived at 12:05 to find that my groom and the entire wedding party as well as all of our guest were standing outside still and the doors were still looked. We were told that someone should have been there to open the back doors at 11:45. My husband has a 94 year old great grandmother that had to stand in the heat for HALF AN HOUR before we were finally let in my a park ranger who had to call his supervisor to get permission to open the door. We get let in and the entire ceremony was RUINED by a constant beeping from the alarm system because the jewel box wedding staff never showed up. During my ceremony people from the wedding after mine started walking in the building because the doors were still unlocked and there was no staff to keep them out. At 1:20 the staff finally arrived and tried to kick us out early, was incredibly rude and never once apologized. I am disgusted that we paid for someone to drop the ball and ruin what was suppose to be the best day of my life. $1000 is not something you drop the ball on.
LJ Pitzer: Not enough varieties.
Cory Griffin: We were nothing short of completely disappointed in our ceremony being at this location. We were told by the parks department when we booked our ceremony site in early 2021 that the Easter Lillies would be in bloom for our ceremony, they were not. We were also very disappointed in the lack of maintenance on the grounds around the Jewel Box. About half of the shrubs, flowers, and greenery around the Jewel Box had been pulled up and replaced with Dirt. This didn’t look good for our pictures. Last but not least, the confusion on masks being required or not required. I was told by Robert and Gus to reach out to Mike to see if he would be okay with our guests not wearing masks since this is a private event. When we spoke to Mike he was completely rude, disrespectful, and threatening to call the Park Rangers on our event if we did not abide by the mask mandate. We have no problem with masks and all of our guests were vaccinated prior to our ceremony(Mike was not vaccinated). Mike continued to talk over us and lash out at my wedding party when we were trying to explain the conversations I had with both Robert and Gus. This lack of communication was extremely irritating. Gus also expressed to us over and over again about how critical the timing is and that we must be out by the end of our scheduled time slot. I completely understand this but the multiple reminders seemed very excessive. The day of the wedding, guess who was late opening up the Jewel box that we had rented from 12:00PM- 1:30PM, MIKE WAS! If timing is so important, we expect you all to be on time as well. This delay caused 40+ Guests to be standing outside in the rain, ruining their hair, makeup, and outfits. This is unacceptable. I would not advise having your event here. Management does not care about you or your event.
Cassie Lee: A great place to visit if you're in forest park. Admission in only $1.We got married at the Jewel box in May and it was stunning. The process to book is pretty simple, and there's really not much to coordinate other than telling them how many seats you need. Hardly any decor is needed since the place is so beautiful on it's own. You get 1.5 hours for a ceremony slot, but as long as you plan out your time in advance, it shouldn't be an issue.
Kelly Gorman: Stunning! The floral conservancy and the St. Louis gardeners do an excellent job!

Garden Heights Nursery: what do users think?
Jacob Manes: They block the road when they receive their shipment almost every day of the week during the most busy time on Big Bend, creating dangerous conditions. Change your system before someone gets seriously injured or worse!
L Wesche (Foodie): Excellent variety of healthy plants. Very good customer service and competitive prices.
Mike Fadem: Spoke to Jack, very helpful and informative as well as knowledgeable
amanda day: Steve was amazing! We drove an hour to pick the perfect tree to plant as a memorial to our dad, and he went above and beyond helping us… from telling us how to plant it, to caring for it, to securing it in a safe way in our truck to make it the hour ride back home… I will definitely be coming back for our future planting!!!!
amanda diercks: Saturday afternoon prime season and plenty of knowledgeable staff, very organized process didn't even wait in line. First time here and considered going back again today for more
Alex Hannan: Really impressive plant selection, and all the plants I saw were in good shape. We will be back!
Megan Levonyak: My favorite place in STL! I love coming here because staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and they have a great selection.
North Arrow Creative: This place has the best plant and planters/pot selections. Also, all the staff are super nice and helpful.
gary deutsch: Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Carol A Schmidt: One of the best in St Louis, in terms of selection but pricey because it’s in Richmond Heights…taxes
Emily Robben: Lovely nursery. Areas are clearly labeled, beautiful plants and vegetables.
Martin Moore: Well worth the trip to visit. They are great and have an amazing, healthy selection! Best Service in the Game!
B Cuz: Very professional and go out of their way to accommodate what you need. I had one of my trees go bad within a year of purchase…it happens. The other four were great! I went in and no questions asked, they had a new one for me (I did have to pay half price) and delivered the very same day ($60). I would like a full guarantee for less than 3 months, BUT overall their customer service is great. Highly recommend.
Sheldon West: The employees were very helpful.
Cynthia Nelson: I bought 3 laurel bushes to make a small hedge along my patio. The sales people are very helpful, they know their plants and will load them, too. Such a good variety of healthy plants with knowledgeable workers make it a joy to shop here.
Connie Tangeman: Very knowledgeable & helpful staff. Wide variety of everything I was interested in. Everything looked very healthy. I would have given 5 stars except even on a weekday the parking is horrible. 🌳 🙂 🚙 😕
John Casey: Plenty of stock, friendly staff
Patrick W: Great plant selection! Very well taken care of and good variety
Ellen Klamon: They had exactly what I wanted and lots of advice and help from the staff.
Bernabe Morales: Excelent service
Onerene Todd: Absolutely love this place also the staff is friendly and helpful.

Dauster's Greenhouse: what do users think?
Greg Kristensen: Great selection of annuals and perennials
Janice Smith: Always great service, and knowledge of how to keep, plants beautiful
Christy Patterson: Best local nursery/greenhouse. I visit every year and am never disappointed. Great service, great selection. Love this place!!!
Dan Stauder: Very nice variety with reasonable prices.
Barbara W: Great flowers i have been searching for something different and they had annuals and perennials that were new to me. Customer service was great they took the time to help you find what your looking for. I will be back
Joshua Wilmsmeyer: Great people. But I could not find a native plant for the life of me. What few native species they had were all cultivars provided by the big companies.Four beautiful greenhouse tunnels are on the property. I would spend paychecks here if those tunnels had native plugs and pots.I strongly support small business but this is the same product (in terms of gardening) that big box stores sell. I want to give all my money to the small business, not just the 10% they make marking up wholesale.
Cyndi Steward: I loved going here today with my friend. Love local and everything is so beautiful and healthy.
Dawn Kirby: 0J1⁸u
Kate Warnock: Great locally owned greenhouse. Always happy with the quality of the plants I’ve gotten here.
Nancy Gelb: their plants are always healthy looking and well watered. this is a relatively small nursery but I can usu6find what I'm looking for. Their hydrangeas are gorgeous now, but the deer apparently love the flowers.
melissa thurmon: Found everything I needed and more.
Francesca Alfino: Love the indigo sun and indigo rose tomatoes. Great quality plants in general
Judy Campbell: Decided not to go to the big box stores during the pandemic and glad we found this well stocked greenhouse for our spring plantings. Happy to support a local business and not far from home. Will be back again soon. :)
Jared Fryman: Great help and selection. We will be back!
McLeod Patton: A good selection plus a friendly and knowledgable staff make this a great neighborhood location to buy plants for your lawn and garden.
Jeff May: Wonderful plants, competitively priced and the local ownership. Love the place and highly recommend it.
Hal Ginsberg: Get selection of mums in beautiful vibrant colors. Price for 9" pots of full plants was awesome! We were limited by how much room we had in the car. Great planting advice from a knowledgeable owner. Glad to support a local business struggling right now on a "dead end" street while the bridge is replaced. Figure out the way to get here! We'll be back!
Sue Wagoner: Lots of garden plants. A little hard to get there until the Creve Coeur Mill Rd bridge is replaced. Come from 141 & Creve Coeur Mill & follow back past Soccer fields & Water Works Dr.
Candice DeRousse: This place is awesome - fantastic veggies, plants & all the staff is super friendly & helpful!
Dank Ensteinn: Very friendly and helpful

Bowood Farms: what do users think?
Carondelet Kitchen: What a hidden gem is this urban nursery in the CWE? Beautiful plants, lovely gift shop and a gorgeous bistro by restaurateur Niche. Great selection of annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs as well as trees and shrubs. A place we return to often.
SisterK: Good variety, a bit pricey but always happyWith my plants
Gennie Palmer: Dined on April 4th. I enjoyed the decor and ambiance of Bowood. The windows are beautiful and the attached plant nursery and farm across the street make this a very unique location in STL. The dinner service, quality of the food, and the drinks were all above average. I had high expectations as it is owned by Niche and my expectations were mostly met. The staff were very polite and attentive. However, the waiter we had might have been training and he was not as knowledgeable about the wine list as he should have been. He could not make a recommendation for wine with my meal & he seemed nervous because of it. Also, when I asked about Bowood Farm and the sourcing of different ingredients he was not able to speak about it much. He did say in general Bowood sources as much as they can from their farm and try to keep any outsourcing of other ingredients local. I think maybe a little more training for new waiters/waitresses will help. The waiters at Brasserie are always so knowledgeable it was a bit off that it was not the same at Bowood. I will definitely be returning soon and was happy with the overall experience.
Linda Fichtinger: Best place to buy any kind of plant you desire ✨️
Those Dewald Guys REALTORS®: great selection, beautiful interior & knowledgable staff!
john jonson: Super helpful staff.
Kathy Chandler: Love, love, love this place, good selection of plants and pots
Marj Santhuff: Started my tomatoes plants
Graeme Harcourt: Unique, well run, good service
Tim Brennan: Delicious, delightful atmosphere & polite service from Adam. Recommend it
Robert Jackson: Overpriced
Lilly Bakker: Bowood Farms was lovely ❤️. Egg salad was poppin’ off and the interior was so cute! They also offer cute art classes. Next time I go back I want to try the pancakes.
Pete Schmit: Great as a breakfast spot!!
Christina Nguyen: Very hipster place. Foodnis delicious and pricy. Service is excellent. They have a plant shop inside you can shop at after you eat.
Greg Turner: What a great nursery! Great selection and good prices. Everyone is very friendly. Lucky to have this place in cwe.
Aaron Mcmichael: Restaurant seemed Awesome! On the other hand, the store and staff this Sunday seemed sad and angry. I Heard awesome things about this place but sadly just filled with workers who have little care for their job & staff who are unhappy. Horrible experience.
Jon Hill: The new owners have done an incredible job here. Best brunch spot in the city perhaps. Wonderful food and drinks.
Dan Sage: Visited both the garden center and the restaurant. Garden center is a dependable source of healthy plants. Good selection of perennials even this late in the season. Lovely selection of gifts, both plant related and otherwise. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. I visit whenever in town. Restaurant was great. Pleasant atmosphere and good food.
G P: Special place that adds a sparkle to the area
Jazz R: Literally the best brunch ever
Lauren Malec: Overpriced with no guarantee whatsoever. My Mr. paid $100 for a house plant that declined immediately upon delivery. Not only was the plant not a healthy specimen, but there was next to no customer service or product knowledge when contacting the store. After staring at this sad plant long enough, I thought I’d save others the trouble. Purchase at your own risk or visit a local nursery Who can back their products.

Wiethop Greenhouses: what do users think?
Steve Eime: Purchased 4 flats of red impatiens this year and they are all dying. Not sure what's going on . Called them and they are, already closed for the season. Spent over 100 dollars there.
Caleb: Awesome selection when I went.
Bohra Family: Lots (and lots) of plants
wiley1st: Amazing variations of plant choices to start spring planting what "the boss" (not me) thought would improve her garden. A nerd like me was impressed by the detail on each plants preferred environment card inserts. Place was packed but checkout was a breeze. We have gone there for 5 consecutive years and the master gardener has been happy with the quality of their stock.
Christy White: Great prices an extremely friendly and helpful staff!
Ellen Leathers: Overwhelmingly delicious. No shrubs however
Madeline Alexander: Huge selection and great prices!
dennis simmons: Everything you need
Ellen Brommelhorst: Withop is always busy. The prices of the plants is always fair. The plants are always healthy. The service is always good. The checkout line was really long, but we were checked out very quickly. It's one of our favorite places for plants.
Sally F: Great prices, beautiful healthy plants
Carolyn Brouster: Great selection! Friendly, helpful staff!
Mark Alan Harris: Amazing variety of plants. Everything looks so fresh and healthy
Nancy Medearis: Wiethop has a wonderful selection of healthy plants at nice prices. This place is an absolute gem. I have purchased herbs, perennials and all kinds of plants that caught my eye while shopping here. I look forward to going every April to celebrate the "last frost" and begin working in my yard gardening. This isn't like the big box stores. When they open April - May, the sooner you get there, the more selection you'll have. They have a limited supply as they sell what they grow. Wiethop also sell mums and poinsettias in the fall and winter and every plant is high quality. I just love this place. It's a terrific family business that is definitely worth checking out.
Allan Main: We go there every year. The prices are good. Great hanging baskets.
CuteLil PunkRocker: Great place for my favorite spring flower, fuchsia! So many varieties of everything. Helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. The Gerber daisies right now are gorgeous and blooming. Fuchsias are not yet blooming but have buds and look so healthy. While the greenhouse is busy, it was still full of selection. Will definitely be a return customer.
Jamie Biele: Love love love this place!
Louis Knockel: Great selection of flowers and vegetables. Staff is friendly and helpful .
DUY THÁI: Good price. Largr tree.
Steve Long: Wonderful folks and beautiful plants as well.
G P: Amazing selection of healthy plants in the spring and fall. Friendly and informative staff will help with any plant questions you may have. Always happy to support a local, family-owned company. Can't wait to come back next year!!!
HEATHER WALKER: Huge but not overwhelming. Excellent prices and excellent employees
