Anna Luna: This place is VERY sensitive about their front door. I didn’t know it was locked and a staff member got very hostile at me for simply trying to open the front door. When my husband was picking our dog up he saw another client get talked to about how they were using the front door. If no one understands the door policy then the policy is ridiculous or you need to make it more clear. Yes there are signs with a phone number to text outside, but it isn’t clear that the door is locked and in my situation I didn’t text because my husband had already been admitted with our dog and I was just trying to make the appointment. This is an emergency clinic and they are insensitive to the emotional stress clients may be under when visiting.
Megan Burger: Took great care of my girl while we were in town for a dog show. Very friendly and helpful.
Michael Crane: The vets at VSS saved my kitty’s life this week. OMG I am so grateful to them.
Kerry Placeway: We took our dog here after the groomer accidentally cut her tongue. She was bleeding profusely and we walked inside as someone was coming out and there were 4 ladies behind the desk. NO ONE offered help, they told us to go wait outside in the heat and call the phone number on the door. They gave us no triage services and there were two other people outside one with a cat that was dying and the lady was literally balling that he cat was dying and no one inside would help her. Another lady's dog was violtently ill and she was so upset because they were not helping and making everyone wait outside in the heat with sick animals. How awful to treat pets like this. I left and went to the ER Vet in Webster Groves where we received much better care. I would NEVER in a million years take one of my dog's back here.
Dennis: Requested X-rays of my pets foot to be sent to my veterinarian has not been sent for over 30 hours. Call VSS person who took my call said it was not her Department. Said there was a request made even though it wasn't her Department she somehow found that out. Told me our conversation was not productive. And there is a complaint department. Much more to this but not really interested in them any longer. Person I was talking with was the perfect pass the buck artist. Not understanding or helpful. Dennis Fogerty , good luck to all.
Aaron Mich: Worst vetinary we have been to yet. They tell you to wait in your car for hours after they say come in. Tell you you're next in line, but 12 other people come in who arrived an hour after you. Staff was rude and will put you on hold forever.

Emma Ludwig: I took my cat here when she was throwing up and coughing constantly. The wait was minimal, the facility was clean, and all the front desk staff and doctors were very kind and I could tell Ophelia was in good hands. She had to stay overnight, and I got a phone call with updates at 3am, 8am, and 11am. Very appreciative for all their hard work in helping keep my baby safe!
Michelle Sproat: Dr. Scott and his team were absolutely phenomenal. Our pup was throwing up constanty yesterday morning, and where our regular vet failed us, the team at VSS got him the care he needed. Our dog had an overnight stay where he received the best care I could imagine. We picked him up today with clear discharge instructions, and the staff made sure to go over everything with us while we were still at the clinic. While I hope we never have to go again, I am at ease knowing that VSS is there if we ever have another emergency.
Jennifer Adamson: I don’t really care that you’re “so busy from the thousands of people contacting you via phone and email so you have to understand it’ll be a while before we even get in contact with you to maybe set up an appointment” when someone calls you to try to set up an appointment, maybe a little bit of kindness would do your receptionists well. (Yes, I essentially was dismissed condescending by them bragging about how they’re too busy for my dog when was following my VETS instructions to call them). She wouldn’t even let me finish my sentence that I had already talked with someone else there and instead interrupted me to go through her “I’m too busy for you rant.” I wasn’t expecting to be seen in the next 5 minutes, I was calling for a future appointment so no need to treat me like I was demanding for everyone to drop what they were doing to see me then
Hannah Vogt: They saved my little puppy that caught parvo! very friendly and informative staff. They treated him so well, they really care about your pet! My only complaint was we had to wait almost 6 hours before he was seen. Busy evening!!
Michaela Dickens: VSS is not what it use to be. It’s went downhill. Their biggest concern is money. They def lack empathy & compassion. Again, main concern and driven by peoples money and even though they are an emergency clinic, the prices are still astronomical. I don’t have a lot of faith in some of the vets. I got into it with a vet bc she had told me that she THINKS my cat has nasal cancer. Well TJ didn’t. They also wanted to start cont feeding via n/g tube and I was like what? He eats just fine. Again, money making scheme. They don’t like it when you question and as knowledgeable about medical as they are minus being a vet. They hate it so much that I got a letter in mail saying I wasn’t allowed back. Lol thank you VSS. Didn’t plan on coming back. Now, I’m hearing of many others that got this letter too. Lol… It’s frustrating knowing a lot about all aspects of medical and medicine and listening to this young female vet. 🤦♀️ Like I said, VSS is not what it use to be.
Charles Collins: First off, $150 is ridiculous. I think the $450 x-ray was unnecessary. Never again. I left $600 poorer. It's all about money.
Nate: They made the worst day of my life the best it could have possibly been.
Noah Roberts: They only care about money! Tried to charge for a condition that was already known about and tried to charge just for a conversation..They do NOT care about the health of the animal. Just getting your wallet! I'll never recommend this place to anyone even if it was the last place open. My dog can die with me. Not with them.
Elese Volker: I could not speak more highly of this emergency vet. They were compassionate, explained our cats care to us and checked in on us every step of the way, answered all of our questions with patience, and gave us daily updates to our cat's 36 hour hospitalization. We were quoted 1200 - 1800 dollars and left with a total of 983 for 36 hours of hospitalization, meds, etc for a urinary tract blockage, which is life threatening. The only thing to be aware of: long wait time. Be prepared to wait 2 hours for admission and 2 hours in the waiting room. Regardless, your pet will get amazing affordable care. Thank you VSS for saving our cat Mason's life.
Jen C: Our sweet, crazy French Bulldog was hit by a car in January. We had been a previous patient for the Internal Medicine Department so we knew exactly where to take her when this happened. The injuries were just too much for her little body. All of the staff were wonderful from the front desk, to the Vet techs to the doctors. Especially Dr. Cregor, Dr. Scott, Dr. Issleib and Elise for being so kind and patient.
Rebekah Nelson: We had the unfortunate circumstances of needing to euthanize my dear elderly cat on short notice early Monday morning. Because she had deteriorated so quickly over night, we didn't feel we could wait until our vet's office opened and hope they could get us in that day. But fortunately, VSS was able to work us in on short notice. Everyone from the front desk to the veterinarian was so kind and compassionate as we said goodbye. It was a really terrible day, but their kindness made it a little more bearable. Thank you 3
Steve Guidry: Dr. Marshall and Dr. (sounds like Lomcheck but not sure if I'm spelling it correct --- he was absolutely unbelievably considerate) saved our dogs life as she went into heart failure on Monday night and Tuesday A.M. -- what else can we say? Both doctors were incredibly nice and passionate about helping our dog Lucy -- so happy to have her back.Note: Prepare yourself because the place is run like Fort Knox, beware. We arrived WITH an emergency only to find there are about four billboards out front that say remain in your car and text "X" number and we'll call you and let you in. I mean, think about it, if not people would be running in 10x a minute with injured and sick animals -- it was absolutely crushed on both days we were there, cars arriving every minute we saw as we sat there in the parking lot. Either way, they are absolute pro's and know what they're doing. They have a system, but be ready to wait.
John Kurtz: This place SAVED MY DOG'S LIFE!Also, I was very frank with the staff about my money situation, and I felt that they did whatever they could to keep the costs low.Not only was everyone professional and compassionate, but the 3 times I spoke to our doctor during surgery, I could HEAR the smile on her face.KUDOS!!!!!!!! 🙌🙌🙌
Caroline Russell: Unfriendly staff said our dogs wouldn’t be seen for at least four hours since their condition was not life threatening. Asked if something had changed because we had brought pups in twice in the last couple of years for similar conditions and were seen no problem (obviously with a wait, it’s an emergency clinic). No response to that, just said I would have to go to an urgent care or my regular vet (no one has appointments on short notice anymore).

norvell reed: Used to be a lot better.
Larry Montgomery: They saved my Scotties life.We were told that our Scottie wouldn’t have her pups till well after we returned from vacation by a different vet, but it happened. The kennel rushed her to the Webster Groves animal hospital who had to operate. Her life was saved as she had one pup jammed in the birth canal. All the puppies were saved and we were able to pick up our new mother the next day! I couldn’t say more about the wonderful services provided. Thanks to them all.
