Dan Cooley: Go elsewhere if your health is compromised. I specifically told the estimator that I am immunocompromised and that he’d need an n95 mask or better when he came. He showed up not wearing a mask and then when offered an n95 from my own stock he put on a surgical mask and seemed put out by it. This was after a seemingly difficult time getting in contact with him. I thanked him for his time and cancelled our appointment. The person I initially spoke with to get to the estimator was great. Made an excellent first impression, so this follow up behavior was a surprise. So I guess if you’re in good health give them a call. But if your health is compromised or you like being listened to you should probably go elsewhere.Update: called to speak with someone to give them a chance to clear things up, or at least make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Was given a number for a supervisor. Called him and he said he’d call me back because he was in a restaurant with no power at the moment. Told him to be safe and that I looked forward to speaking. Never heard back from him. So aside from the folks handling incoming main call lines they seem indifferent at best toward residential customers.After thinking on the inability to use a proper mask I’d be concerned about their technical knowledge. If they don’t know the difference between a dust mask and a respirator, how could I trust them to use the properly rated components in their work?

R R: After confirming that they did lamp repairs, I dropped off a very dear to me lamp and over the course of a month called back 2 or 3 times for an update of which every time was asked my name and number for a promised a call back. Not only did this company a) not repair it, but b) fail to even call me to tell me to come get it if they didn’t want to deal with it, and lastly, c) not call me back after begging for an update. When I went there to take it back, they said sorry, but they didn’t have any information on it. I thought, I guess when I dropped it off my contact got thrown out, and must have never really been taken down every time I called. As I turned to leave, they said they said they could fix it probably by tomorrow or the next few days. I replied, “At this point, no way. I’m done.” Being busy and not having time doesn’t upset me. Of course no one’s happy when they can’t be worked in, but at the end of the day, that’s great and I am happy for your business to be that sought after. However, I don’t see how this could be that- if not pure negligence, I don’t know what. It was almost as if someone said, what, are you kidding me, a lamp, don’t even bother calling back, we have bigger fish to catch- she’ll get the message eventually and come and get it. Don’t worry, I’ll never waste this company’s time again. But I can’t forgive them for wasting mine.

We renovated a house from top to bottom and had to meet several inspection deadlines. Owner answered the phone and was courteous and helpful in providing interim measures to keep the light from falling. Once we purchased the new lights, they bid the project with a fair price (other companies wouldn't come out once they found out one of the lights was to be installed at height of 18feet). The workers showed up on time with the equipment to install the lights and worked with us to make sure we were happy with the height of the lights and in installation in general. Robin Counts Houser: I will not consider this company after almost in an accident with this driver. Today very rainy and lots of water on highway. A powder blue company car was running 70 miles an HR in construction area at River Despair location. Upon approaching 270 he was running over 80 miles an hour. I have him on video I do in my car. If we would have had an accident he would have been on video and at fault! When employs of a company are disrespectful on the road I question the work ability.

nam vet: What can I say? Schaeffer Electric is a top notch quality company. I bought this house in Feb 2012. I had them install a new 100 amp box. Previous installer did not do the job according to code. Schaeffer also brought the outside outlet up to code.Since then I have had them come back and replace all basement incandescent lighting with T-8 fluorescent fixtures. They also replaced one T-12 upstairs in a bedroom with a T8 using drop down panels. They also replaced one T-12 fixture in another bedroom with a new ceiling panel (drop down ceiling) and installed a ceiling light fixture. They also replaced the ceiling T-12 with a new T8 using drop down panels.The crew that showed up, no matter who it was, were always on time, courteous and cleaned up when they were done. I cannot say enough about the quality of this company. Any future electrical needs that I have will not be competed. Instead I will just call Schaeffer. They are that good.Prior to retirement my background was in government purchasing and dealing with contractors. This is a top-notch company.

Tamika Staten: Update 2022:Scott!!! He’s great and does amazing work. He works quick, finds the issue, and resolves the problem. And also very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!Older 2021:No prices or estimates were given... at all. Never knew how much service would be until weeks later when the bill came. Had a slight issue with the work but the guys and their excellent customer service took care of it. The rate I received was $99 per hour and that’s fine. However, I went to pay the bill and saw no options to pay on invoice. It was then that I found out that either you pay by check in the mail.... or 3% (almost $10 fee) to pay by card. Those were the only two options. Not only is it disappointing but it’s very inconvenient being that I don’t write checks and haven’t been to the actual bank since the pandemic started due to health concerns. I would like to pay my bills the same way I always have, on time, and over the phone or electronically. Had I known this upfront, I would’ve searched around for a more transparent company. But they didn’t tell me anything upfront other than my appointment was 3 weeks out.Again, while there were a few inconveniences, the electrician’s customer service was outstanding. This balances out to a average review.In my opinion, this is a good, reputable company. It could use more reliable communication though.

Afrikitty: My name is Liz - Afrikitty is my nom de plume. I live in an old house, with my adored hubby, that was built in 19-way back. Over the last few years this house has started withering on us, especially in regards to the electrical system. About three years ago, the electrical system in the kitchen, which was also connected to the lounge, went AWOL on us. Our usual, and very excellent all-in-one-omatic contractors gave up on the kitchen and recommended Streib to us. We were graced by Rob's presence for this job - oh my, I watched him for close to 5 hours as he fought to find the problem in this old house, but he perservered, and lo and behold, he FOUND the hidden problem and fixed it for us. After TWO YEARS in my house of having no electricity in the kitchen and lounge, Rob restored our electricity and our kitchen to us. Needless to say, I was bowing and scraping. Absolute professionalism on Rob's part -- there is nothing more to say. I have since had him back twice to fix up minor electrical problems and he accomplishes them with utter aplomb. Thank you Streib and thank you, Rob -- you do, of course kinow that I always ask for you. (^_^) I am enclosing a photo that Rob took of the offending "thingy" that he found in the wall behind the dishwasher. Don't get a fright when you see it. I think we were fortunate that it died on us instead of causing a fire. Jennifer Alfsen: I wanted to thank Nick and Jake for the electrical work they did for me on 16 March. I had 5 different items, both old and new, worked on. I did end up paying a bit more than I anticipated, however I believe it's important to be encouraging when an apprentice is involved (supporting new members of a trade is important to me). Sean Carr: I continue to work with Streib often. They have helped me with converting ungrounded outlets to grounded by running new wire and changing the outlets. They also installed two new ceiling fan boxes in a high ceiling with no attic access including new wiring and switches. They've also done some general repairs of severed electrical wiring and running dedicated circuit for my HWH. All of their technicians have been great to work with and the service men and women in the office are very courteous as well. I highly recommend Streib.
