Jamaa Birth Village - Equal Access Midwifery Clinic: what do users think?
Eboni Boateng: This clinic is truly a gem within our community! From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and attended to. I learned so much during my apothecary tour and I'm super excited to have received my doula training certification through Jamaa! Tru poured all her knowledge, wisdom and love into us. It was transformative in so many ways and provided not only the practical knowledge a doula needs but also grounded us our culture, ancestry and reproductive justice. If your're trying to figure out what doula training to take I'd highly recommend this one!
kabria johnson: I have a new found love for Jamaa Birth Village ! I took their doula course and I was amazed and full with knowledge that I was hungry to learn and Tru gave it to use graciously. It impacted me so much in a giant way. The knowledge that I learned in their doula class I wouldn’t have found it anywhere else. I left knowing my purpose, new found friendship, culture appreciation, and a hungry to want more. The atmosphere was unmatched and I cannot wait for future classes and events that they have because I will be at every one of them. I also cannot wait to see their apothecary! The herbs she used in the training were amazing. Tru also has a book called the “Moon Goddess Guide Book” and I suggest any woman on any part of their spiritual journey to read it. It was so well worded and spoke to me so much I read it within a day you can truly tell that she put her heart and passion into this book and I’m sure I’ll be reading it many more times and passing it along.
Kimberly Winston: I took her doula class it was life changing for me and so many otger ppl that were in our claas. Thank you Truu you are amazing.
Jawaha Frazier: I really appreciate the help Jamaa Birth Village gave me. I adore they keep they word & helped me when I needed it at this time of need from sending me groceries to helping me with Assistant for me & my children.. I’m very thankful to have them help me & my family.. I highly recommend them..
Charlan W-M: I had the opportunity to participate in a workshop facilitated by Tru Kellman a couple of weeks ago. The workshop was presented seamlessly with vigor, tenacity and intention. Tru fostered a safe space for all participants to speak their truths with a realness and rawness that was parallel to none. I've never experienced this kind of powerful sister circle where all participants were glued to the material. Further, Tru attested to the stark reality that black women are dying at disproportionately higher rates than all other races. We learned the history of Midwifes and their importance bringing healthy moms and babies into the world. We had several opportunities to create solutions regarding increasing the rate of healthy black moms and babies. My favorite tool given to us was laced in creating public policy that procured safe guards and accountability for all participants that handle and encounter mothers during pregnancy and postpartum. If you are every so fortunate to hear Tru Kellman speak please jump at the opportunity but be prepared to leave you're coding switching at the door.
Unknown User (Love All): Very knowledgeable on what I should intake to better my pregnancy. I was sooo dehydrated plus more and she educated me on how to improve in those areas. Place is very homelike. Will visit again.
SonJoria Sydnor: Jamaa Birth Village has been intentional about their support of women's health. Creating an environment that supports the village the way you'd only imagine. From prenatal, to breastfeeding to community support. Jamaa Birth Village is an excellent place to check out.
Eric Devenbaugh: Very nice people here and very happy to help others. Highly recommend you to visit if you are highly needing baby stuff and need help. They really care about getting you what you need if you can not get yourself. They also take donations of fairly new or used baby stuff to help others in the area. Keep up the good work.
Chelsey Oliver: Paid $50 for pre-conception services. Appoinment was cancelled twice by the facility. When attempting to reschedule was not able to contact anyone. Was never contacted by the company again. What hurts is that I was seeking help & felt like I was taken advantage of by the company that is suppose to be built on sisterhood.
myia dixon: Seeing the midwifes there for my pregnancy. So far it's pretty great and the level of care is better than a regular obgyn
Christina Finch: Love the people and atmosphere!

Robbins Doula Services, LLC: what do users think?
Kristina Karl: I can't say enough positive things about Kathleen. She was the perfect doula for our family. She's kind, caring, reassuring, and knowledgeable. She really put me at ease right away. I felt very safe having her watch and care for my newborn son, which is so important when you might need a nap in those early days! She genuinely cares about the newborns she works with, and really provides emotional support to moms as well. She always helped with baby laundry, taught me how to do things like newborn baths, and was an amazing resource when I had questions regarding all things baby or breastfeeding. When we found out our daycare wasn't going to have availability until months after I needed to return to work, she even reached out on our behalf within her network and helped us find someone to care for our son! For an anxious new mom without family in the city, she was exactly what I needed. She is also very considerate with preventing sickness, and up to date on vaccinations. We will miss her presence in our home!
Abby Krawczyk: It was so wonderful to have Kathleen’s help after our daughter was born and my husband transitioned back to work. My mom passed away before our daughter was born and we are newer to the city, so didn't have the best support network. I was a little apprehensive about having a stranger come into our house, but Kathleen quickly put me at ease. She is knowledgeable, kind, empathetic and a genuine person. It was so helpful to have a second set of hands and her support as we navigated new parenthood! She is a great listener and an experienced parent that offered thoughtful advice and tips! You won’t regret the extra help!
Meng Liu: As a new mother, I recently had the pleasure to work with Kathleen. She is caring, respectful, and knowledgeable. She provided practical support with tasks like breastfeeding guidance, newborn care, and light housekeeping. She also offered emotional support by listening to our concerns and providing a non-judgmental space for us to share our experiences. I was lucky to have Kathleen help me navigate one of the most challenging parts of my life. I highly recommend her!
Katie Rice: I am SO glad we chose to work with Kathleen as our postpartum doula! Kathleen is kind, empathetic, and so reliable. It was amazing to have her sturdy presence “in our corner” during the first few months of our daughter’s life. Even though I have a strong local network of friends and family, it was so helpful to have her support in listening and offering thoughtful advice about feeding, how my husband and I could get sleep, establishing routines, and even simple guidance like which bottles to buy (so helpful when my brain was exhausted and I couldn’t bear to read more product reviews and make yet one more decision). She also advised and supported me in the transition back to work after parental leave. I highly recommend having Kathleen’s warm and encouraging presence as part of your postpartum experience!
Toni Richter: We had the pleasure of working with Kathleen after giving birth to my daughter in June of 2022. She came to our home and provided us with emotional support, back-to-work planning help, lactation help, and she did light house work and prepped healthy snacks and meals for me. She is lovely to speak with and she really embodies the doula spirit, meaning that I felt like I was being "mothered," which is what I wanted and needed. I had a unplanned c-section and that was NOT AT ALL my birth plan so she really provided me with extra emotional support. She is down to earth, sweet, gentle, and her only agenda is to help support your parenting and mothering goals. The most invaluable support and education she gave me was on breastfeeding and pumping. Now, I will say, that she knows her stuff with lactation support and provided me with a lot of education and resources, but she knew I was stressed and nervous about needing to use a nipple shield and I was struggling with nursing and how the shield would affect my supply...because my birth doula actually told me it would and some other not-so-helpful-and-supportive "information." She gave me education while also reassuring me that my body and baby know what to do and once my supply is established and my baby and I have our routine down to..."just not take it so seriously, your body and baby will know what to do." She was right. I've used my shield every time while nursing and my baby and I have found our own breastfeeding rhythm and routine. I can't say enough good things about Kathleen. I felt heard, supported, nurtured, and reassured.
Tracy Nykin: Kathleen is amazing! She stepped in when my husband and I were sleep-deprived and barely holding it together. She’s cared for our little one, made meals, done laundry, walked our dog, and other chores as needed. Getting a post-partum doula is my #1 tip for new parents, and Kathleen is the best! Even 6 months in, I still call on her from time-to-time. She’s truly become part of our little family- our little one loves her too!
Alyssa: Kathleen is exactly what you want in a postpartum doula. She is kind, compassionate, confident, and caring, just to name a few of her attributes. My son and I were struggling with breastfeeding, something that was extremely important to me. Kathleen played an integral role in being able to exclusively breastfeed my son. Kathleen is an insightful lactation consultant, and she provides referrals when necessary. In addition to breastfeeding support, Kathleen assisted in food prep for the week too. She made us smoothies, pancakes, oatmeal, and eggs to name a few. Lastly, Kathleen talked to me for at least 30 minutes on a weekend when I had a question about my son. Although she is no longer providing my family with in home postpartum care, she continues to check in on me and my family. I highly recommend Kathleen Robbins!

Doula Love, Light, and Life - St. Louis Doula: what do users think?
Rocking With Denym: I loved the communication and education provided. A fast process. The placenta capsules helped regulate my emotions after birth. Gave a boost of energy when needed & helped me never to feel tired.
Anastasia Cage: Asia encapsulated my placenta after I gave birth to my son. She arrived at the hospital an hour after I had given birth to pick up the placenta and check in with me and my husband to see how the birth went. Before and after my birth Asia provided information on labor, breastfeeding and frequently asked how I was feeling and offered advice when needed.Taking the placenta capsules has been a great experience for me. As someone who has always struggled with depression, PPD was high on my list of concerns after giving birth.I usually take 2 every couple of days, or when I feel myself starting to become overly emotional. Within a day I feel more energized and positive. My milk supply has also been plentiful and my little man has been gaining weight and becoming super chunky.I’ve occasionally struggled with intrusive thoughts after giving birth, but when I take the capsules I don’t have any.I gave a close friend of mine several of my capsules because she struggles with PPD, she also said she noticed a difference in her mood and she had a lot more energy.Overall, ever since I started taking my capsules, I haven’t had an episode of depression or anxiety. I would strongly recommend contacting Asia if you are a pregnant woman who is prone to depression 😊 Even if you don’t struggle with depression, these capsules are great for energy after giving birth. Xoxoxo
Sky Parker: Asia is such a kind and genuine spirit! She supported all of my decisions and educated me on so many different things making me even more comfortable preparing for a natural birth!! She also handled my placenta with great care and made pills out of my placenta for a faster recovery during postpartum 10/10 recommended!
Ciarra Felton: Asia was absolutely wonderful and her personality is so welcoming. She makes you feel extremely comfortable and safe. You can tell she loves what she does. She made my experience 100x better. And her quality for the placenta capsules and the placenta chocolates were amazing
Kasey Tolliver: I knew Asia was meant to be my doula after our very first conversation. She assured me every step of the way during my pregnancy. My baby girl decided to come a month early but that didn’t change a thing. Asia & I prepared my birth plan so we were ready to go! From assisting with labor positions, setting the mood of the room, and affirmations to help along the way Asia did it all.Asia’s postpartum care package so far has been my favorite. It’s made my partner and I’s life so much easier. When Asia comes over I either take a much needed nap, run some errands, or take a shower. Asia helps us around the house (trust me you’ll get tired of washing bottles), attends doctor appointments, gives baby girl a bath, and she even finished organizing and decorating the nursery for us. Her bath salts help a lot with postpartum symptoms they are very relaxing and smell amazing! I don’t know what I’d do without her, best investment I made during my pregnancy.
