The VA Hospital in St. Louis was just could not keep up with my changes health issues. The damage to my lower spine had gotten so bad that I spent more than a year and half bedridden. Rich: I have felt the decline of customer care for about a year now. My original appointment was rescheduled by the office due to there were some building repairs being made. Upon my rescheduled appointment I find out my medical insurance is unexpectedly no longer active. I have been coming to this office I believe since 2014 upon finding out about my insurance I called and asked for the physician assistant whom I see on a regular basis to give me a call, trying to get that request processed was almost impossible because I didn't want to share why I needed my primary care person to call me with the young woman on the phone. I was told that having Megan call me back is going to be almost impossible and she's not going to call if she doesn't know what I want. I did speak to Amanda and though Amanda was much nicer virtually I was told the same thing so I gave a quick synopsis however there were different reasons why I needed to speak to my healthcare provider which I find to be personal.I did receive a call back from one of the office staff who read a note that my healthcare provider typed. When I inquired as to if my health care provider was going to return my call I was informed that "well she typed this note"So this just leaves me to believe that because I was informing them of my health insurance situation I wasn't worthy of an actual phone call. I realize everyone is busy and schedules are tight however, when you're in the medical field it's not fair to leave one of your patients hanging with no support. It is not as if I am calling them on a daily basis asking for a phone call. I would like to think if I were a healthcare provider and a patient who rarely calls to speak with me asked for a retun phone call maybe I should give them a phone call.So, every question I have concerning my health and well-being is still unanswered because of a lack of health insurance during this small window of time and the inability for a phone call to be made.This is not acceptable where I am concerned. Is this really where we've come? I'm saddened and disappointed at how I have been made to feel by the office of my healthcare provider.And I'm sure the automatic generic response that will come from this message will be deemed to suffice.
