Clint McGill: I wish it was possible to give negative stars. We took our damaged portable hard drive there in hopes that they can fix it and retrieve the irreplaceable data that we had on there. Hundreds of thousands of pictures of our children growing up videos that we cannot replace. They tried to tell us that there was damage to the drive and they wanted $1500 to replace the part that was damaged. They told me this money was nonrefundable because they had to order a part. When I asked them what were the possibilities of the replaced part not working, they told me it could be 50-50. I explain to them that we just couldn't afford $1500 for a possible paperweight and no guarantee that they could fix it. They were rude and pushy and so I told him I would come pick up the device. I then sent the device to a real company Data Analysis in Florida.Today I received a horrible message from them. Apparently Fields did more damage to the device then I took it to them with. According to the guy I talk to it looks like fields damaged my device, so that the data was not recoverable because I was unwilling to pay their demands. We have now lost pieces of our life that are gone forever because these assh**es felt like playing games. I have never been so mad and so disgusted with a company in my life.I would highly suggest never using this company for anything ever. I am crushed that they would do something like this to me and my family. I should've listen to the reviews and I hope you all do. I’m convinced that they have fake reviews on here!!! Look them up on yelp and a few other places. This rating on Google is wrong! Screw these employees screw this company straight to hell!

Matthew Klop: Do not trust! Biggest scam I’ve dealt with! Didn’t recover all the data when they said they did. Had to ask for original hard drive back and recovered more data myself with a new cable without an adapter. Fields did not think of this or try any other method to recover the missing data when I said it was missing 800gigs! Promised me a quote of $400-500 and not over $1000 and quote came back at $1480 without an explanation. Account manager admitted this is an ongoing problem with staff and complained quite a lot of his staff, felt super unprofessional to hear. Was told different things with every person I spoke with, no one explaining how the process works and why my data wasn’t recovered, especially when I recovered more once I asked for it back. Was told they “fixed” my original hard drive so that’s why it started to work again, not true. Was told they automatically return original hard drives when that’s not true because they didn’t, I had to ask for it back. Misinformation at every level and a strategic process to scam you for more money with little information. Ask questions and they’ll tell you it’s not there area of expertise and no one can tell you anything except lies to cover what they are doing and in circles you go. Higher up the worse it gets. Do not trust! Plenty of other companies that do this work and hopefully will be up front with you from the start. Lost $1200 by sending them a hard drive which they recovered 50% of data, assured it was mostly everything and the rest was operating system space, not true. Asked for it back to check again myself and recovered everything myself. When asked they told me every explanation possible to cover themselves and not offer me any kind of refund for a poor job and misinformation they swindled me into more money. Do not deal with these people.

They sent me an overnight UPS label. with in 2 days the called me to let me know my drive was recovered. Price was very decent compared to others that would charge over 1K. They sent my drive overnight on a portable drive and I was able to transfer files over on to a new hard drive. The data was able to be recovered and put on a new 1TB drive to be shipped back to us.The whole process was easy, the staff kept me updated as to the progress. All contact with Fields staff was very professional and I thank all for the customer delight. I do not remember all their names, but would like to recognize Eric (last name?) , with whom I had most communication with as it was during the holiday season. Support called later to see if everything was satisfactory.I would highly recommend Fields Data Recovery, use them again should I ever need data recovery (hope it doesn’t happen again), and refer all friends and associates to Fields.

What I received back was a link from drop box with distorted pictures and NO VIDEOs. They haven’t even returned my usbs so I may go somewhere else to try to get my data. I would give it zero stars if I could. I am very disappointed. When you first contact them they respond quickly and nicely and once they have your money they stop responding your emails. BEWARE.

The first said my data was unrecoverable.
