Kevin McCarthy: While we do not have experience building other custom homes, we can certainly speak to our experience with Hibbs Homes. Our particular situation was very challenging as we were building from 300 miles away, and with two young kids making a lot of trips to St. Louis was not an option. When we started researching and contacting builders, one of the critical differentiators was communication. Some were responsive, others were not. Kim immediately setup a call and spent well over an hour discussing their build process and our particular objectives. A month or so later I happened to be in the area and let him know I was interested in driving by a few of his properties just to take a look, he instead took me on a tour of several of his properties under construction.We started hunting for lots in the area, Kim was able to provide recommendations on realtors and lenders to help in the process, and provided lot options as they came up. With Kim’s help we were able to better understand building restrictions in our location of interest and what that meant for lot size as related to our target house. That allowed us to hone in our target lot size, figure out prices paid by other builders, and be prepared should an opportunity present itself. Kim happened upon a lot that fit all of our criteria and that prior preparation allowed us to move quickly to secure the lot.With the design complete, we moved to the budgeting stage. In support of that, Hibbs Homes arranged visits to various suppliers in the selection process. Selections can certainly be overwhelming early in the process, but Hibbs was able to focus us on the critical selections that were needed early and target supplier trips that would address those. All trips and scheduling were organized by Hibbs Homes in advance so we could be as efficient as possible.The budgeting process can be stressful, because most people have a finite budget and we certainly wanted more than our budget could support. Kim supported a number of phone calls to help us reorganize the budget to fit within our targets. Once the build was underway, we setup weekly calls with the superintendent to review questions, progress on the build, etc… In parallel, the Hibbs Home team were coordinating selections and updated pricing information. In addition, Kim was always a quick email/phone call away and was immediately responsive. The whole house is custom, but a number of very specific request were made from us and all were addressed, from the exact trim design for the doors/windows, precise model number switch/timer installation location, custom designed built-ins, speaker/ethernet wire installation as drawn by us, tile designs drawn by us. The end product was a beautiful, incredibly energy efficient and comfortable home delivered within our budget constraints. This speaks volumes for Hibbs Homes capability as this was all done over the course of four or five visits with everything else being supported via phone/email.Is the build process perfect? No. Will mistakes be made? Yes. A custom home is an extremely complex project involving a number of contractors, vendors, and other personnel orchestrating to your exact specification, expecting perfection is just not realistic. The critical differentiator here is not perfection, it’s minimization of mistakes, and the response when mistakes happen. Mistakes that were made were corrected, and the mistakes were both minor and few and far between. We also had issues that were totally outside of anyone’s control, and Hibbs did all they could to minimize the impact of those on schedule and budget. It’s not a perfect science but Hibbs Homes has established a process that helps minimize mistakes and ensure construction is done on time (weather permitting!) and within budget. Reviews were an essential part of weeding through the substantial number of builders in the St. Louis area. We hope this review provides some insight into what might set Hibbs Homes apart from other builders in the area.

The team was extremely accommodating – especially considering my home has only a single bathroom (they went above and beyond to ensure I had a working toilet throughout the remodel).As with any remodel, especially considering the age of my home (81 years), I anticipated that we may find some issues during the project – and we did. I am extremely thankful for Agape and the entire team for their flexibility and ability to quickly address the issues that we found along the way, including:• Resolved issue where bathroom fan was not properly vented• Discovered my sump pump had quit working and quickly replaced the pump and added a Radon mitigation basin cover• Repaired of a significant portion of the porch header and garage frame, added the necessary drip edge to the gutters (we discovered very wet wood and termites because of improperly installed gutters from previous owners). Where this would normally cause a great deal of anxiety to any home owner, Agape was able to repair this quickly as a T&M project - the added cost was much less than I was expecting, and likely saved me from a much greater expense this winter had they had not have caught this when they did!Despite the challenges all companies are facing with material delays and resource constraints, Agape still completed the project on budget and even a few days early than planned!I would highly recommend Agape and will absolutely use them again!

Keith Slusser: We recently completed our second major project with Agape Construction. This time we did a full kitchen remodel. The first project went so well, and we were so impressed we decided to use them again. Two years made a world difference with the company. There was not one phase of this project that I would deem successful. I would have taken up our displeasure with the company, but they did not send us the follow up questionnaire even after I requested it twice. That is how I knew they are not the same company.Here is a small list of problems encountered during the project:1. Project completed 2.5 months late due to poor vendor selection and planning by the company.2. Kitchen cabinets were wrong height due to poor measurements by Agape in a fully demoed kitchen.3. Cabinet vendor had to re-send same component 3 times due to poor quality.4. Company made changes to our project due to City requirements but did not share those changes with us or some of the contractors till project was underway. This lead to unapproved changes in the project and subcontractors working off the wrong plans.5. Subs did not show up several days in a row, but we were never notified they would not be showing up. The company had no idea the subcontractors were not showing up.6. Project manager raised his voice with my wife due to her pointing out substandard work they performed. This work was later fixed by his team. The team that fixed the worked were shocked at the poor quality. No apology was ever received for this action.7. We received a violation letter from the City due to them braking local ordinance.8. When I asked about issues, I received disrespectful email stating they have many projects going on and didn't have time.9. They used inexperienced finisher and only have complaining 3 times did they finally send out a skilled team who had to re-do all the prior work. We had requested the change and were told over and over it would be fixed in final walkthrough. No quality company would want to do poor work to just re-do it later.We had previously referred this company on several occasions. We will now actively be telling people to stay away from this once great company.Think twice before using Agape Construction.

Damon C: We have lived in our Rowles built home for approaching seven years now. Overall, it's been a decent experience. We love our house and the buying experience was simple and straight forward. The house followed the timeline for construction without issue and we closed on time. Overall, I'd give their sales side a thumbs up.We have had one issue that Rowles will not sufficiently resolve. The grading in our house's lot plan indicates that the water from the front yard should travel down and away from our house toward our neighbor's house. The yard was not graded properly and it has caused our yard to sink near the driveway and near our house. We addressed this during the first year, which they addressed by bringing that portion of the yard up to level, but did not fix the waterflow and as a result, the yard sunk again outside of our one year warranty. We had their engineer out on September 29th, 2020 to look at it. He explained in detail why the yard was sinking related to the water build up and that I should address it with Rowles.Fast forward to now and we're still having this issue. I have reached out a final time to Rowles to ask them to fix the grading in my yard so that the water flows as it indicates in the plot plan. I was told that "if the water didn't flow away from the house, it wouldn't have passed inspection".Overall, I'd give them a 3-out-of-5 stars for future buyers. The positives are clear: our house is great, we're happy to own it, and the purchasing experience was easy. The negatives are clear, not just in my experience but in our community's experience, that Rowles will not sufficiently address issues post-construction. My recommendation to any future buyer is to join a Rowles-built community Facebook group and ask the people that are living there how their experience has been.Had Rowles fixed this properly the first time, I would easily have given them a 5-star review. Now I will have to pay out-of-pocket for an issue that should have been properly fixed during the first year warranty which I did bring to their attention while under warranty. Shelby Mccoy: My husband and I built our home and were so very excited about this process! From our first encounter with our salesperson we felt very rushed, judged, and uniformed with the process. Fast forward to construction when we came to look at the progression of our home, to notice that the wrong elevation was being built. We met with a member of the Rowles family to basically waist our time and to tell us there was nothing that could be done. We were told that we would be very pleased with the quality of our home to also find that materials and appliances were very low budget for the price we have paid for our new home. I don’t advise anyone to build wit Rowles! If you want a quality built home you won’t want to build with Rowles. We feel we have a cookie cutter home and paying a custom price. Adrienne Haas: I would definitely recommend Klemme Construction! Our kitchen remodel turned out great. They were super helpful in helping us design what we wanted and picking out all the materials. The employees working on our home were very courteous, they always gave us a detailed update on the work progress, and made sure we were happy with everything. We’re already planning to use Klemme Construction again for a bathroom remodel.
