Judy’s Forgotten Jewells: what do users think?
Ashley Price: We adopted our Gizmo (his name used to be David) he has been an absolute joy for our family and our children love playing with him. He is already beyond spoiled rotten and as you can see he's got the luxury of our house.
Tammy Koch: Dr Smith is a phenomenal vet and lady. The staff are awesome too
Betty Scalise: If they can't answere the phone I leave a message and on a couple of hours my call is returned with an answe.
Andre Rush: Adopted my first pet being Petter the cat. The process and experience was quick and satisfying.
Kate Ritter: I love how their animals are cared for. Very special people
Mark Ritter: I love these folks they really care.
Cheryl Lombardo: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Reliability,Responsiveness,Value
Sandy Gordon: Wonderful caring people, my adopted dog is so sweet! ❤️
wh wh: Like others, I applied for one of their dogs several weeks ago and have heard nothing. The dog is still up on Petfinder. I find it hard to believe that they are so busy that they can't even send a courtesy email with some kind of update. I would be happy to show them how to do this quickly to all adopters, but I guess that is not possible either since they won't respond to anybody. If they are really getting "hundreds" of inquiries for each dog, then why are the same dogs listed as up for adoption for weeks and months? This is shameful. Those dogs could have already been in a loving home but this group is too inept to handle that. They should just shut down - I am certain other rescues would love to be able to help these poor dogs. The canned response that everybody is getting is terrible too. A rescue dedicated to finding dogs new homes that can't follow through should be taking every step possible to change.
Darian Schield: I adopted the most amazing puppy who had a VERY bad condition of mites not only in his ears but all over his body. They said they gave him a shot and he would be better within a couple of days but he kept getting worse (his eyes were swollen shut, he couldn’t even tell when I threw his toy down the hall) but I took him to my vet who prescribed him medication and he’s been better than he’s ever been! I’ve been trying to contact the adoption center because unfortunately I’m not able to keep up with taking care of such a young puppy due to my busy schedule. I’ve been trying to get ahold of them for a week and a half now by email and I’m getting nothing. I’m sending my last email tomorrow (and leaving it on my review) that I’m going to find a forever home for him. I should have every right to at this point since I’m getting no response, and I want what’s best for him and it’s not sitting in those kennels🤷🏻‍♀️
Ken Setzer: Great place to adopt your next pet. Friendly and caring. Our new dog loved her caregiver there.
elizabeth owens: Great people, they really care about our furry loved ones
Lisa Scott: Great staff. We adopted two pets from them and it was a very positive experience . The people who work here are very committed to the animals they care for. Appreciate them very much.
Jamie Vishwanat: . But then I still saw most of the pups up on *every* rescue site near me. So I emailed her a personal message, politely asking if any of them were still available since the dogs were still showing as "adoptable" on her website and every local rescue website. I also sent a Facebook message per their instruction. Nothing. Never heard a word back from them. They state "they get so many emails they can't respond to all"...if they maintained their "inventory" and removed pets already adopted or pulled them once they received "3" applications as stated in the auto-reply, maybe they wouldn't have an overabundance of emails...??? Every other shelter responded promptly that the pet was either available or already adopted. They have many poor reviews on Google of the same complaint. This sounds more like a business taking advantage of free advertising by mass-posting on every local animal rescue's website for the purpose of driving traffic to their website for donations, rather than a shelter with the interests of the animals and people who desperately want to adopt those animals in mind. Not sure how else to explain why the pets remain on all the search portals for weeks if they claim "they have so many inquiries, they can't keep up"? The APA and Humane Society update their website hourly. I would not recommend Judy's Forgotten Jewels to anyone. Seems more like a business exploiting rescue shelters by preying on people who want to adopt by keeping them checking their website (good for SEO
Addison Harden: i emailed about wanting to adopt a puppy over two weeks ago and never got a response. i am not the only customer that has experienced this. the only response i got was that they aren’t able to answer emails quickly due to covid and the “hundred of applications per dogs” i understand they may be busy but you can’t have people adopt dogs if you’re not responding. to me the business seems unrealistic and unprofessional.
Laura “Knope” Bowen: I tried to contact them via email about multiple dogs they had listed. Website says email only and to email again after 48 hours so you don't get lost in the shuffle. So I sent an email every 2 days for several days only to get a curt response saying every time I emailed I got knocked down to the bottom of their contact list. The dogs I had inquired about sat on the website for 3 weeks! Don't hold your breath waiting on a response.
Sarah G: Critical:ResponsivenessSent first email on 10/06 and a few more following up over the next week or 2 but never received a response. Tried to call but they said you can only communicate with them via email. It’s been over a month now. We moved on and adopted from another shelter.
Jo Jo: Critical:ResponsivenessVery cute animals and I'm sure they love them but couldn't get a response, social media is dead, not very responsive.
Casey baptiste: Horrible im still waiting on them to respond to my request to visit with the puppy
Elissa Meyers: I’ve emailed them about 3-4 times over the past couple of weeks and I’ve gotten no response. Their website says to email them and not to call because it goes to their animal hospital, so I did so. I’ve been interested in 2 of their dogs and have gotten absolutely no response. I’m not sure if it’s because of COVID-19 or what but they said to wait 24-48 hours. It has been weeks.
Alyssa Legg: Critical:Professionalism,ResponsivenessI was interested in a puppy and sent an email like the website said. I got back an automatic response saying if they didn’t reach out to me on 48 hours I should send another email. My first email was sent July 28th. I have now sent a total of 4 email over the passed two weeks with zero response.

CARE STL Adoption Center: what do users think?
Christine Myers: Nice and helpful workers.
Kim D: The work these folks do is to be commended. Several friends have fostered and I’m in the adoption process. They are so professional, and just look at this beautiful, healthy pup - Gracie Blue
Travis Cotton: Was told dog was well trained that was a lie. We didn’t even have her for 24 hours she already snipped and tired to bite her but I was there in time then she turned on me and bite me pretty bad and made me bleed. Please be careful we should have know when then told us she was a street dog at first!!
Krystal Thomas: It's an absolute horrible place to work they have terrible time management skills when it comes to scheduling and they try to avoid paying you and will terminate you when you asked for a way to clock in to track your hours.
James McLain: These pets are in a place 100 times better than any other animal shelter. Right away you can find both the right pet with the right temperment in your first visit. This is the place to start everything about adopting your next pet.
Ollie Kyles: The process to initially adopt is mobile friendly and fairly quick. For adoptors who are LGBTQIPA2SX+ or Queer; they are also very respectful and kind. I got to pick up my new best friend the same day, and she hasn't left my side since. If for whatever reason you need to return your friend, they ask you to bring them back rather than try to place them yourself. I am shocked if anyone has to ever do this: the staff try to do everything they can to keep families together. They even have an on boarding program for friends and families that are needing temporary holding of their pet! If I had more room, I would have taken every last cat. Haha!
Perry Alyn: I love CARE! Just picked up a second foster. Their Enrichment and training programs are SO important! They do a great job with what they're given
Steven P: I have adopted two fosters from CARE and both experiences have been great. I couldn't recommend them enough.
trinity joseph: Nice people but the place seems a little mixed up
Miranda Rosales: Horrible people and horrible staff
Taryn Mondiello: Love it here! Fostered then adopted our cat in 2022. Staff was super helpful and nice and made the foster/adoption process so easy!
Michael Carr: Risa helped tremendously and was very nice helping us narrow down dogs. We appreciated the “No barriers” approach to even people with apartments being able to get animals on individual cases. This is essentially the city pound and where most all animals come from the streets. They are an 80 place facility with over 140 dogs, supposedly most in crates (although you’re not allowed to see all the animals at once). Risa asked what we wanted and narrowed down to 2-3 dogs which met our needs/wants. This was a much better experience than we’ve had elsewhere.
Amber Stamp: This place is truly a Blessing
Bridgett Lindsey: Awesome Awesome Staff Member Never Show Favors I Donate Cat Food I Really Appreciate You All
Landon Ross: the process was simple and fast. also the staff members were kind and patient
Amber Morales: Would have been a five star rating easily! If they tested cats for FIV/FELV. i was blessed with this handsome boy who was soo sweet! By sweet I mean loved everybody and non stop purring during pets and cuddles. Out of all my boy cats he was the best one. With that being said I noticed for a 7 month cat he was very lazy and kinda small. I assumed maybe the shelter life was rough on him and hoped by feeding him extra wet food he would gain some weight. The weight never gained and I got concerned about it about a few days later so I took him to my vet again and she said he’s not gaining weight he’s losing weight. So we go over her shot record and come to find out he was never tested for any thing. Ever. So I pay for a full work up $215 dollars later I find out my Mooch has tested positive for FeLV while I had my other cat! So of course I see what my options are and what I can do to help him. Basically nothing. I watched the sweetest cat slowly lose the ability to walk, no longer controlling his bladder, no longer purring. I had mooch for less than a month January 3rd-January 31st. So yeah this place Is run by horrible, cheap and basically lack of care people. And I hope karma does her job.
Benson Juarez: I had amazing experience finding my new little buddy - Barley! The staff there was great. Very personable and helpful. You can tell that they really care about all the animals and are passionate about finding them a home.
ALEXANDRA JONES: I went in to adopt a cat yesterday. I went with my girlfriend and when I went to take a call, Dione, made odd comments towards my girlfriend saying I’d come in here to adopt with a man before alleging that it was suspicious. August 2021, I was not yet 21 and came to adopt with a friend I would be moving in with. My address on the application was my current address at the moment. My friend was the 21 year old and therefore was the primary on the application. We did not yet live together yet. This was obvious. This morning I received a call saying that my application was “funny” because my address was now the same as my roommates address. And now, she suddenly remembered my roommate had, almost a year ago, said to this woman *PERSONALLY* that I gave fake information on the application. Which is easily disproven since I previously lived at the address I gave. She also said the email on the application was different than what I gave. Which yes, I don’t remember the email on the application I was on secondarily over a year ago off the top of my head. When all of this was explained, as well as my roommate being on medical leave, which there is documentation for, Dione insisted my roommate said I gave false information. My roommate on medical leave also called to say this was not true. Now, I understand this is confusing and therefore I’m fine with them not going through with the adoption. HOWEVER, the whole process was weird and discriminatory. The premise of their rejection was a testimony from someone who said that female cats menstruate for 3 1/2 weeks… anyways, save yourself some trouble and find somewhere else to adopt. This person clearly tried to suggest to my girlfriend that there was something that I had going on with a man that she wasn’t aware of, which was both unnecessary and unprofessional.
Aris Witch: Their name is a lie! They don’t care! They take peoples lost animals and then refuse to give them back or adopt them out as well as lied about a dying dog still being alive to solicit money from people. This lace deserves to be shut down, don’t give them your business
Madison Pregon: a good communications team would do wonders for this place when it comes to all the scandals they sweep under the rug instead of addressing them head on!
Ashlii S.: Dumping animals that are supposedly in foster care, being hostile towards pet parents TRYING to be reunited with their babies, and lying to keep a rightful pet owner from verifying a pet is theirs. DISGUSTING. Don’t bring any lost pet here it’s absolutely not safe.
