Big Muddy Adventures at the Boathouse: what do users think?
Kaylin Murray: Really fun experience, lots of wildlife around we saw a lot of baby ducklings and the animals aren’t scared of the boats going by.
Alina: Great view and experience paddling on the lake on a kayak, plenty of space to paddle. The rental process is easy and not much wait time. The price is great and staff amazing.
slicksweet1: Very nice. Just don't go on a hot day. You'll suffer trying to paddle back before your hr is over with 🤣. We got a paddle boat. It's $26 a hr, then 15$ for additional hours. Afterwards, we ate the delicious smoked salmon sandwich with a side of potato salad. 😋. The staff was nice and welcoming at the boat rental window and getting us into our boats.
Elizabeth Renee: It's a fun way to spend an hour and see Art Hil!
Eric: Fun and fair prices canoeing or paddleboat
Renee Brandt: Great date location! Great, helpful staff, and plenty of water to explore. There's plenty of water to keep your distance from others and catch different views. I went pedal boating with my husband; very clean boats, but would recommend choosing something else if you're on the taller side (6+ ft) because you might feel a bit squished. Kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding also available!
Jackie H: Came today, and staff was super friendly! Clean boats, well organized, and a great way to spend an hour in the park.
Bud Strunk: The moonlight paddle boat cruising is one of the most romantic moments in all my days. I feel blessed to have had that evening with the love of my life.
Jackie Roberts: I sooo much enjoyed the boathouse 2018 4 my bd ☺️the staff were extra freindly & u could also drink and have a fabulous time wit the breeze & boating on the water very cozy & season doing 💋💋
Chase Lehmann: Respectful staff and great views while going through the lake and canals.
Kenneth Hayes: When i was younger there were powered boars. I have a bad leg so i cant paddle. Such discrimination for a childhood memory
Lanell 4Keeps: Fun and beautiful scenery.
Odell Bryant: Fun and enjoyment
Haridas Attur: Rented a paddle boat and cost me $22 for an hour. There were some nice views including some nice fountains along the way . Got a good work out .
Toffet Vii: We rented pedal-boats and had a fantastic time. The staff is very friendly and accommodating (yes you can bring your dog). This was a great experience. We really saw a different view of the park. Just the view up Art Hill from between the fountains would have been enough, but going around the little islands was so much fun.If there's a down side, it's that you need to be ready to pedal. I got quite the workout. :-)
Greg Beavers: We rented a paddle boat and it was fun but I think $20 is steep.
Cindy La: Prices are not bad, and it is in such a great location! You can paddle or kayak out to the grand basin.
Nishia Robinson: Nice place and people also make sure you bring your own umbrealla you will have to pay to rent one. I think $15 and up.
Leyla Rose Bland: Work Party
Robert eastham: Love the ducks
B. Crawford: Great service and location. Dinning lakeside. Menu is decent for all tastes. Bbq is a specialty but other selections are good too.

Big Muddy Adventures: what do users think?
Emilie Mueller: We had an absolutely fantastic time—wish we lived closer so we could go more often!
ET Love: Very knowledgeable tour guide loved Big muddy Mike.
Marianne Manning: What a great adventure! Well organized and equipped, competent and knowledgeable guides. We went on the full moon float and enjoyed a lovely paddle, great dinner and saw some wildlife! It was awesome watching the moon rise and the lights coming up in the city. The best part was the paddle back under the great bridges and up to the foot of the arch. Highly recommend!
Desis Desmone: Excellent time and Pete was great with answering questions from us out-of-towners! :)
Angela: Tanner and Mike were great! My son and I had a great time! Felt safe the entire trip. Highly recommend.
Justin F: Don’t be so inconsiderate. Dude post up shop at Simpson Park and has empty kayaks taking up 90% of the sandy put in area. At least a dozen people trying to put in and take out in the tiny 6ft area remaining. Was frustrating for everyone. Meanwhile guys just hanging out under his canopy completely oblivious to what’s going on.I don’t care he post up on public park space, but at least drag your unused kayaks and canoes off to the side or over in the grass. So the actual public can use the public lake/park. I was half tempted to push some of them out in the lake where there was more room lol. Decided not to cause a scene since I had my kids with me.
Matthew McKinney: We used Big Muddy for a recent clipper canoe purchase. We worked with Matt, who was great answering our questions and setting everything up for a smooth process (we traveled from out of state). The day of pick up Amanda helped us get checked out and the canoe tied down. She was super nice and helpful. Great experience all around!
Barb Reilly: Great experience. Well organized canoeing trip. Enjoyable leaders. Delicious food. Will plan another trip with BMASaw two bald eagles while canoeing the Missouri River
Jay Couch: What a great experience I had with Big Muddy Adventures. The guides Mike and Matt were excellent and so were the other staff, Mark, Lucy, and Natalie. They provided a great campfire and delicious meal on the island. I would definitely recommend Big Muddy Adventures. I am looking forward to doing another trip.
Lauren Choate: The full moon float was such an incredibly fun night. Me and my husband kept saying we couldn’t believe this was only $95. We can’t wait to check out some of their other trips.
Robin Johnson: Amazing experience. The guides as extremely knowledge. They do everything they can to ensure everyone has a great and safe experience. The trip will allow you to see STL from a whole new perspective.
Kim Mills: Fantastic experience! We plan to do the trip again some time. Excellent guides and food. My husband and I are in our 60s and we found the evening perfect. We highly recommend the Full Moon Float experience!
Steve Thompson: The entire staff made this a wonderful experience. We met some great people on this trip, the crew was professional and friendly and the food was incredible. Seeing St. Louis from this perspective was also fascinating. Would highly recommend this trip!
Kat Eglezos: The best thing I did in St Louis hands down. The staff/guides are amazing, down to earth people and so knowledgeable and friendly. Mike is funny as hell and takes his job super seriously. I went on this excursion solo and it was incredible to meet people from all walks of life. I laughed so hard and felt this amazing sense of community, even though I'm not a St. Louis local. Thank you SO much for an incredible experience.
Diana Regan: Unforgettable trip! Informative and fun. Our guides were top notch and made us feel safe and welcomed. The Mississippi River is mighty indeed. Big Muddy Adventures insures you will gain insight into this river’s importance and wonder.
Wesley Fordyce: Big Muddy Adventures provided a fun evening, a fantastic dinner and an out-of-this-world experience on the full moon float! We will be coming back!
Mary Bayes: Hope you guys are surviving this challenging weather right now. You guys are awesome guides and great people to deal with.
Edward C. Donnelly Jr.: We are fortunate to have such a business that also makes outdoors more popular.
Jase Carter: Great time on the evening full moon float. I highly recommend it for locals and those from out of town. Big Muddy strikes a nice balance of providing a quality, informative, guided experience that still keeps a sense of adventure. I'll definitely do another trip with them.
Scott Ring: Great adventure with a great company. Not only are Mike and Mark great guides, they are always safety first. They provided our group with a safe, fun, relaxing float and overnight camping adventure. The meals they prepared were great and they always had good stories to tell. Top notch company. Go plan your adventure with them!!!
Shelby J: We had a great time out on the river! Mike and the other guides are very knowledgeable on all things St Louis, both history and present day. They were very friendly, and I felt very safe on the water with them. I’m looking forward to doing another tour in the future!
