St. Louis N.E. / I-270 / Granite City KOA Journey: what do users think?
Thomas Presson: The staff here have been awesome. I traveled with 2 small kids and we stayed for 2 nights. The staff was always friendly and full of helpful advice about what to do in the area. Thanks again for the hospitality. Made us feel at home for sure. Hope to stop by again in the future.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Stephanie Hall: This is funny to say, but the ground at this KOA, was some of the most comfortable I have ever slept on, for camping! The camp sites also had a shelter, table, charcoal grill, water, and parking spot, for a great price! Clean bathrooms! Thank you, folks!Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Paula DeGroot: Reasonable priced. Quiet. Nice pull-thru.Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Howard worthey: Traveling through and reserved a 50 amp site got a 30 amp instead. We arrived at 1:15 pm and was charged $5 for early check in . So dont arrive before 2pm.The girl at the counter was rude and very short with me when I complained. She even said that "She could arrange for me NOT to stay there." Be prepared because the park is set for two hook ups on each RV power poll which means two campers face each other which is ok if you are traveling with someone else. Or want to get to know your neighbors cause you have facing Doors. Over all I would not stay here again park is run down and needs fixing up cant believe it is up to KOA Standards and the cost is double what most parks charge.
yz z: Workers raced on the already dusty internal road, raising huge dust. Propane doesn’t work,
Steph S: It's not great, but it's not awful. Awful would be the TrailsEnd park down the road. As everyone has already said, location and noise were some of the downfalls. The drive into St. Louis isn't far and quite easy, actually. We stayed 7 days, and we are full-time. However, what everyone else says about the staff being friendly was not our experience. Rude. Just simply, rude. If I kindly ask you to wait 30 minutes to weed eat outside my camper because my son is taking a final exam online, don't act like I had the actual audacity to ask such a question, then roll your eyes, shake your head and then start up the weed eater and ignore me. Went straight over to the manager who wouldn't give me his name (chicken), and she said she'd "talk" to him... yeah, don't think that happened. He didn't even come back to apologize. Needless to say, we'll never stay here again and find something else, probably on the Missouri side. THIS was our introduction to Illinois.
Steve Rogers: It's a KOA, stayed two days while exploring St Louis. Worked well for a Basecamp.Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Debra Duvall: Nice flat fairly roomy sites.
Ross Jessop: You asked so I am going to be honest. Not sure where they got this picture from, located between transport truck yards and rail yard. Unkept facility, run down they say they have cable but it doesn't work. Dog park has boards in it with nails through it, pull through site where once gravel but now overgrown with weeds. I think rating this a one is way to high. I have notified KOA corporate and sent photos as proof.
Kathleen South: Pros- nice office staff, level sitesCons—LOUD, on one side you have non stop noise from Granite City school buses and semi trucks, from before dawn to late evening. The beeping was driving me crazy. The other side has trains, blowing whistles, all day and night. The back side had truck noise. The campground looks dilapidated, and sad. I believe they just reopened after a winter closure but it almost looks like it had been abandoned. The playground equipment needs power washing, the sites need gravel, no one was in the office at 2:00 so we didn’t have an escort to the site. The campground was very empty yet we had a very loud rig next to us, that pulled in after 10:00 pm. There was no reason not to leave an empty space between rigs. It was not worth $60 a night. I hope they fix this KOA up.
Tim Crowder: It was a great place with the exception of having your neighbors water, electricity and sewer right under or up against your picnic table. The "A" slots need to be a little wider.
Glenda: Not in a great area. Rv sites were really close together. cable tv worked but no sound. When asked, staff was rude and said “we have a new state of the art system and your tv is just too old”. We explained tv is a little over a year old and they (in a very rude tone yet again) said “it doesn’t matter our system is state of the art”! Our tv sound worked at another location just previously to this location and after we hooked into HDMI cable with computer the sound was working fine however Koa site cable sound still not working. There was also a trashed out trailer sitting in the front of the campground and it looked like someone’s household items sitting in the front lobby of the camp office. We also were unable to purchase propane. We were told the scales are broken. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend this park.
Amanda Robison: We stayed for seven days, the staff was always friendly and helpful. The train and traffic are quite loud at night time but we just turn on the fan to drowned it out. We loved the buddy sites, it's great for two families wanting to camp together but in different campers. I would return again.Playground: The kids loved the jump pillow.Restrooms: The restroom and showers are very nice and alway clean.
Bill Tracey: I had previously only given this campground 3 stars but in the past couple of years they have improved tremendously. wifi is 5 star. We used antenna for tv and got great reception.Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Daniel J: Tough review, location and tightness of spots was a 3, staff and friendliness is a 4. Right in between a truck facility, train or junkyard and port or shipping. Thought we were lost until turning into the location. Dog park was tiny, like 2 chihuahuas would run into each other small.Decent for a night or driving through to stop, but nothing around here to really see. Had a bounce pillow which my kids loved.Spots were really tight, like 6 feet on each side to the other campers. Sewer had a flange type attachment so we got to look directly at and smell the neighbors sewer for a week. Staff were great however 👍
Joseph Schaefer: The campground smells like sewage. They were having a tree cut down so we got woken up at 7am to chain saws and a wood chipper. When it was time to leave the tree crew was blocking two exits, the KOA staff were blocking the third. We asked how to get out and the KOA staff took 30 minutes to move their golf carts to let us out of the park.Restrooms were clean and maintained well.Restrooms: Clean
Ray Harris: Quiet, clean camp just a quick drive from STL! It was very affordable and comfortable. The lady who checked us in was polite and informative! Which we were grateful for, being out-of-town folk who had never visited Illinois or Missouri. This is a great and affordable alternative to busy hotels in the city if you are driving! They have cabins, RV spots, and tent sites that all have access to running water and electricity on site. Do not be discouraged by the road leading to it. It is tucked off into some "woods" secluded from the industrialization nearby. It was different for us country folk but felt at home when we got settled in.Playground: Features a jump padRestrooms: Always cleanDog-friendliness: Several campers walked dogs daily, always on a leashPicnic area: Each tent site features a pavilion with picnic tables
Carol Wagner: This is absolutely ridiculous there is a raceway so close we can here the engines reving. Even with our air conditioning running the noise was unbelievably loud. We received e-mail telling us to check in at 1:00 when we made reservation, day of reservation we received another email. It stated check in was at 2:00pm and to come because pool is open. When we arrived pool closed. Women’s bathroom ceiling falling down.
Jeremy Stockert: Not real welcoming...

Safari RV Park: what do users think?
Dani Syx: Reasonably quiet, great access to highways, it's really easy to forget you're like 15 minutes from downtown St Louis 😁Noteworthy details: This is as the name and RV park not a hotel I'm not sure what Google has going on there and it's not giving me an option to inform them that it's not a hotel 🤷‍♀️
Michael Brandin: An older looking park with more than half appearing to be full timers and some looking really poorly cared for. Showers were fine, but locating spots a little difficult. Good size truck stop across the street for a few things you may need as well.Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More
The Traveling Stippels: Doesn't answer either phone number or emails for reservations.
Scott Heiser: I'm giving it a 2 star because it was a halfway level parking spot, and we didn't get robbed. I felt like I was camping in a trailer park that was also the place where RVs went to die. So much garbage everywhere, the place was filled with people living full time out of 40 year old RVs, with junk cars parked all over the place and stray cats roaming the lot. Honestly not a place I'd go again. I've paid less for far more reasonable accomodations. The campground host was very responsive to texts. Don't let the name fool you, the only exotic animal spectacles you'll see are the stray cats being fed by the full time residents.
Brian Schmaltz: We were very disappointed with our stay at the Safari RV park. The park is advertised as a safari with pictures of tigers, giraffes, and other animals. The only animals on site were a number of stray cats. We had a hard time getting in touch with management to reserve a spot and then they were never on site at the RV park. The bathrooms were clean but the park itself was a mess. A number of year round residents had junk laying all over the place. The whole place smelled like a sewer. We would not recommend this park for anything other than a one night stay.
William Nonnenkamp: We enjoyed Safari RV Park. The park was quiet and clean. Nice place
randy lane: Nice to place to live
Justin YouOlson: Can’t wait Ben get through. I found three different numbers for them via google and their website, and not one works. I then tried emailing them to request reservation, and the email doesn’t work. Seems to be a sign for my family and I not to stay there
Ricardo Caballero: Un lugar muy lindo y muy acogedor y esta muy limpio
J.C. Wheeler: Great park..great staff. Close to every thing.
Douglas Watkins: The park is really nice and the manager is super friendly and works with you it is really clean and they offer help if you need it to set up would recommend this rv park for anyone looking for a nice quiet place
Leta Hutto: Awesome
Tim Washinton: This place is a super slum, don't stay there!!!!!!!

Trails End RV Campground: what do users think?
Michael McGee: I called and made a reservation and they charged me $300 deposit and when I needed to cancel less than 24 hours later they kept my deposit after telling me they would refund it. I will never do or recommend business to this place ever again! Bad business practices!
M Martinez: My husband and I stayed here for about 6 month. Jackie is absolutely amazing ❤️ I at first thought she was the owner. Gravel lot but safe and clean. This place is really only so great because of Jackie and all that she does.
neal stcyr: Nice would Stay again
Jared Anthony Curtis “Jac” Domingos: Very helpful and friendly neighbors. Welcoming trailer park community. Clean bathrooms and laundry. Convenient location to highway and local attractions.
Jennifer Thomason: This place is a dump. We arrived, no one was there to check us in. We called and the office called a neighbor to come out to meet us and although I had called to confirm the same morning, they didn't have a site ready for us. They wanted cash, which has never been stated. The hookup are in the wrong placement for all the sites so you can't align your camper properly. Strongly recommend finding somewhere else to go. After all that, we didn't stay because it doesn't even seem safe
golfecho2: Needed a spot last minute around 930pm. Was able to get in contact with someone and get a spot no problem. Waffle house, Carl's Jr and gas station all open 24 hours.
Jeff Gibson: I called left a message made a trip there and spoke to woman she said no you never called or I would have called you back then she gave different price than what was on line then kept saying well not sure if empty slots or not have to wait on owner come back we'll I didn't I found a better running operation near here that was more organized
Judy Greet: Located close to StLouis, economical for full set up. Manager is very personable. Laundry/ showers kept very clean.
Genie Stokes: Clean laundry rooms and bathrooms nice management great service would stop through again
Justin Jackson: just drove through to drop something off at the office but the place look pretty packed seem like a nice place they had a lot of nice campers and RVs so it look like a pretty popular place to stop and stay and everything was clean
Ed Robertson: These guys are awesome! It's nice & quiet!
Barbara Barrera: I only got as far as talking to the lady in charge of renting a lot, she asked questions to where it was she was trying to talk me into not renting there. She asked too many questions and some weren't even to do with the RV park. ASKED WHY I Wanted to rent there and kept telling me that there's a RV park down the street.
Andrea Medina Steward: My husband and I stayed at this park 19 years ago while finishing up a restoration on the interior of our Airstream. Back then it was more of a field with spots to park your trailer. It had hookups and propane onsite with a real nice man who would fill your tanks for you - but that was about it. Quite basic. I don’t know how long it had been here but my Dad said he stayed here years before that - so it’s been around awhile and has gone through many changes along the way. We are here visiting family on the Illinois side of St. Louis and needed a space to park our trailer and have electricity (we usually run on solar) while taking care of family matters and other business. Kind of a work-trip. I looked to see if Trails End was still here and was happy to see it’s not only still here but has come a very long way! I now think of it as a little gem of a spot tucked away in Granite City. What it is & What it isn’t.Traveling workers come here quite a bit, so there’s long-term travelers, like our neighbor who’s a traveling nurse (with a tiny little dog named “PookeyBear” which is way too cute!) We’ve met several of our neighbors. I find them good people, here to work, who don’t tend to get up in your business but keep an eye out for one another - which I value. The park is tightly spaced but not uncomfortable. We have room for our 24’ trailer, Ford SuperDuty dually and a Dodge van and still have space to sit outside. The roads are well maintained. I noticed the skid steer out neating up the roads after each rain. Camp Host and Manager, Cindy and Jackie respectively, are salt of the earth people I would be proud to call “friend” (and look forward to seeing again in the future!) and helpful. I appreciate both for their efforts because they do pay attention, offering help where needed and straightening things out where needed. Neither are smiling “debs” behind the counter at a resort park, so don’t expect that. They’re good people who treat you well and expect to be treated well in return, which is just good common sense. The shower and laundry facilities are simple sink/shower/mirror, clean (THANK YOU Jackie) and… well maintained. The laundry area is also clean and machines are cared for. Again, Thank You Jackie! Can’t tell you how many times I’ve fed quarters into a drier and ended up with damp clothes. Not here. The machines work great and the driers are HOT.There is security rolling through regularly which I was glad to see. Let’s face it, any area near a big city can be a target for miscreants and Trails End is no exception. Bear in mind that you’re not out in the country here. In general, in St. Louis, RV parks that provide a place to park your rig safely - and affordably - while you’re out working or getting things done are few and far between. Trails End has full hook-ups, propane, laundry, clean shower and WiFi, which has worked fairly well..Trails End isn’t a resort park and doesn’t pretend to be. It isn’t particularly kid friendly as there isn’t that much for kids to do here on their own. That said, there are a few young kids here now with smart parents who entertain them in their space. They look pretty happy to me! But something to keep in mind with older kids that may want more to do than cook a meal outside There is limited grass and no animal run. Larger pet? You’ll have to give extra attention to walk/pick up after them. You will be asked to leave for unattended dog poop. That’s a good thing.I felt safe here but I feel safe pretty much everywhere I go. I’m giving 5 stars because my experience has been good. Mileage may vary if you’re expecting something this park can’t deliver. I am glad to see this park is still going and only getting better. I will happily book another stay.
Christopher R. Abbey: Price was good but area was not great. Random sketchy people walking from the street into and out of the park at all hours. We had the first spot #15 as you enter the park. It rained hard that night and the water pooled right at the electrical post and water connection. Not ideal. All in all, I would not recommend unless you absolutely need a place to sleep.
Mark Cannon: Quiet and clean great people running the place.
Grant Schadle: Close to the interstate nice people
B Ruse: Needed a place to hook up temp in the 90's and in the 100's tomorrow. Attendant Jackie took care of us and found a pull thru site. Very nice lady helpful. Close to the interstate. Looks like mostly fulltime here but quiet.
jason manderson: Close to wood river. Pay per week. If you pay the month and leave before lease is up they do not reimburse you what’s left and they resale your spot as soon as you leave. Double dipping.
Tim Silver: Reasonable rates The location is perfect highly recommended
Dale Pearsall: It’ll do for a one night stop. Checked in late so we didn’t meet anyone. I personally would prefer grass and trees over an ALL gravel lot...had to take my dog out by the road to find grass, not ideal, but not the end of the world. The road through the park has many many many potholes so be careful driving through that you don’t bottom out if you are towing. You can hear some traffic but nothing too noisy. Neighbors were quiet and it also seems like everyone here is full time. Not a big deal but not a “campground” feel... more a “RV Park”.
Bettyjo Williams: campground was gravel spots was better than last year they have made them a lot bigger and spaced them out management was very nice laundry and bathrooms was very clean would return if I have to work in area agin

Sunnen Campsite: what do users think?
Jake McClain: Great spot for scouts to get away for a weekend. Beautiful trails, a climbing tower, and Cub World make this a prime spot in GSLAC camping.
Megan Sherman: Beautiful camp property. Love it!
RM: Always great experience at Beaumont
Mikey Cammann: Beaumont is a wonderful campsite. There is so much to do. 5 awesome trails of different lengths, rifle, shotgun, pistol, airsoft, paintball, archery, bb gun and wrist rocket ranges. A great pool, rock climbing tower, primitive camp sites as well as cabins. I can go on and on about how great it is to have this so close to st louis.
Leonardo Negron: Pretty awesome place.
David Szatkowski: Dunno where this is, but if it's at Beaumont, it's in the top percentile of all campsites.
Michael Wilson: As a boy scout I love this place. They have everything: dining hall, climbing tower, merit badges, and more!
John McCandliss: This site works quite well as a BB range if care taken to handle the queueing under volume load. I have also seen it used as an archery range. My guess is that it was more intended for Cub Scout family camping.
Joseph Swartzbaugh: It's a beautiful place, real peaceful. And the camps are really fun.
Ryan Trotter: Our group had a blast on the reserve. Beautiful property with loads of trails
Vi Vu: This is such a great place for boy scouts and their families. Everything is always nicely organized and ready for whatever event they are hosting. My son went for a 3 night camp and he enjoyed every minute of it. From swimming to archery and the cafeteria food to the rustic, but not too rustic campsites, complete with tents (on a concrete slab) and cots. What a great way to ease the boys into enjoying the great outdoors.
Justin Cox: Nice place
Marty: Beautiful Camp
Joe Wolsey: Boy Scout camp
Aaron Nord: Near parking well laid out
Jesse Hebisen: This is a great spot. We had a blast at Arrow Of Light summer camp at camp joy. And cub world with its tunnels, fort, and pirate ship is super cool. But it is a BSA facility and is reserved for boy scout activities. There is not general public access.
Tiffany Storz: They are great and friendly!
James O'Neal: A great place for the Scouts to camp and explore.

5 Diamond Campgrounds: what do users think?
Kimberly Marsh: I'm on a travel assignment and have been here for a little over a year. I'll be leaving in a couple of weeks and wanted to say to the Five Diamond Campground, thank you for a wonderful stay!
Shelbey Stone: What this place lacks in amenities, they make up for in personality. All of the staff are thoughtful, and you can tell that management cares about their clients. The location seems very secure and well-maintained as well. There’s plenty of grass around if you have dogs, and there is a historical state park adjacent if you want to walk for exercise.
Linda Mitchell: This campground is mostly long term campers. It has full hookups. It is near a busy road but that didn’t bother us at all.
Jess & Mary Ingram: Talk about LOCATION. There is almost an unlimited amount of well kept mowed grass. Between 5 Diamond and the Tower (park with tables, shade and a garden!) gorgeous sunsets and an endless trail right behind the RV park!Has a side road infront of it with very little traffic.Stayed here for 1 month. Great location easy access to 270. Office always is staffed and my packages arrived with no issues. Got a text whenever I had a package for pickup at the office.Quick drive into Edwardsville for all your needs. Or Walmart and Aldi in Wood River. Some road noise during the day. And the train whistle can be repetitive. I just ran a fan.Wifi worked good for streaming our tv about every time I used it. (Every evening)Spot, electric, wifi and full hookups are included. Some pull through and some back in.No amenities. Port-a-potties were locked. Laundromat isn’t far and is good.
C Kit Crider: Newly opened Oct 2020, and great for working travelers. Not for kids at all. It's called a Campground but I disagree with this. Camping to me is not a large gravel parking lot. No other way to describe it.If yur active tho, great for walking, and if u have pets...Sits next to Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower, and the visitor center is just down the road, the levee walk path takes u right to it or u can drive there. The Levee is right behind RV sites. All paved pathway and my dogs love to run loose back and forth down the back-side while I walk. Well, as long as no one else is around that is. 😉Great for bicycling to!I saw another review stating things like, "too expensive, not happy w/the place, no where to walk yur dog, no laundry facility, etc, etc...."$600 mnthly, all utilities paid is pretty standard.$175 wkly is as well. And while they don't have a shower house or laundry facilities "on site", Susie does offer a laundry "service". U can drop off dirty clothes and pick up clean ones. That's awesome for guys working long hrs.If u prefer to do yur own, there's a laundromat just down the road in the town of Woodriver. Maybe 5-10min away.Clean w/working machines that don't cost u arm & leg.Park IS nxt to noisy hwy (Rt 3) but...When AC or heat running I can barely hear any of it. Also it's a new park, gonna take a bit for those new trees to grow😉.Now as far as another park being just down the road that include amenities for $100 less a month? Not sure where unless it's the KOA. Haven't been there, so may be true, but, it's a seasonal park and is only open April thru Oct.5 Diamonds is open all year round. Ya don't find that often in this area. And with that said...We're from the area but went full-time just under three yrs ago. This new park for us is actually really beneficial because we've had rough time finding decent place to stay while back in area for work. We usually end up in Mobile Home park. Not so fun.Places u stay are only what u make them, and remember that when u leave trash laying around, or have a pet u don't clean up after.Be a responsible guest!Other guests appreciate it as well as Susie, (Park manager).
Rebecca Thomas: FHU. Just a gravel parking lot. No pool, no laundry. Parking spot #7 is not level. Convenient to Metro St. Louis area. Easy in and out. Inexpensive. Next to Confluence Tower, canal levee and bike trail
mario garcia: I stayed here for 5 months while working and enjoyed my stay , very helpful and friendly staff. The campground itself is well kept and maintained, the area is quiet and i never experienced any issues . Id like to thank the ladies in the office especially for the text or calls when mail was in and providing good customer service👍🏼. I look forward to staying here again. Call
Kristin Ball: Super accommodating with us. We were there for work and with what we do for work we don't know how long we will be there for. They were very understanding of that which was very refreshing for us. All gravel sites but decently level. We did have probably the worse site there but worked for what we needed. If we are ever back there for work I would stay there again without question
Gwen Dvorsak: The ladies, Susie and Kim, have been amazing to work with. It is turnaround time and there are no openings in the area. We got out on the waiting list and I just so happen to answer my phone a few days later to secure a spot for the turnaround. Also, when I was traveling thru in my way to the west coast, I needed a place to store our sandpioer for a week until my spot out west opened up and Suzie worked with me and came up with a plan to help me out. This place is has full hookups, is clean and friendly management team. This is your basic RV park but has all one needs ! Thanks again 5 Diamonds!
Brittin Crawford: Loved it here. Stayed for 3 months last year before the gasoline guys filled the place up. Highways not too noisy. And the train only comes through every couple days. Will definitely look forward to staying again.
Karol Hornberger: This campground is a perfect location for sightseeing in St Louis and metro east area. Affordable with all the needed amenities. They are very accommodating with long term stays for those working in the area on short term basis. Easily accessible paved bike path directly behind the campground gives you stunning views of the river!
larry prince: Had a reservation to stay here. Truck broke down and could not make it. Cancelled a week in advance. I no refund. Refund is not returnable they said. Never will I make reservation here. Beware of campgrounds that are in parking lots.
Steven Erdenberger: Very open, easy to get to, with a convience center across the road!
Alyssa Ashford: This is a great place to stay if you're working in the area! I wouldn't call it a "campground" per say, but it is butted up right next to a park with plenty of biking/walking trails. The management and employees here are some of the nicest and most helpful we've met while traveling!
Terri Williams: Always able to help for any need
Scott Manon: Very nice and safe place to stay. Very nice people. Susie is an awesome manager. Also have slot machines at the office!
Rhyno Dudes: Horrible managing with unacceptable attitude
DORRIE MANON: We have been staying here since the day they opened. My husband is here for work. Very nice place, quiet for workers. Susie is awesome!
Matt Seefeldt: Staff was awesome, they let us keep our camper on the site so we could visit the arch without dragging the camper along
Britnie Mallet: Stayed here for a few weeks while working in the area, Suzie was super easy to speak to and co-operate with! The campground itself is all gravel so there isn't any mud to contend with, and all the hookups worked as they should.First place I've been to that has access to a First Aid box. Thought that was pretty cool.
michael ross: Great location, easy in and out. Quiet and peaceful, never had a problem while I was there for about 4 months while working in St. Louis. The staff was friendly and helpful whenever I had a question or needed something.

MGM Lakeside Campground Inc: what do users think?
Fees Oculus: It's a duymed trailer par . People are already living here and the pictures are enhanced and lie!!!
K Young: Kind owner. He waited up til past midnight for us to arrive(long drive). Spacious spots, plenty of room to park next to your RV. Lots of grass and trees which is perfect for any dog owner. Beautiful lake, full of life(including ducks!). Plenty of shade in certain spots.
Ml1180 H: The place is nothing special but it’s good for what it is. 10 minutes from p66 refinery and Chris is very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay again
Eve Ob: Lousy pace nothing like web site 4
James Bailey: Great lake side camping awesome fishing they have great big catfish and the person that owns the place he is very considerate and kind
Blake Jewell: Awsome
Daniel Philippon: NOT RECOMMENDED !!!definitely needs alot of work and to be cleaned. Owner was nice, but some sites are very junky. Residents do not pick up after pets.
James Ravas: I’m looking for free tent camping spots closest to granite city Illinois area since that’s where I work. I do have a truck. Just seeing what’s out there I could use a little outdoor time.
Pichardo “Chela” Xo: Very Clean
Dan Alsbury: Had family camping there

Sundermeier RV Park: what do users think?
jeff williams: We traveled from California on our way to Kentucky. We had visited one other time in 2012 and we were anxious to visit again especially because of the on-site restaurant that had an excellent selection of meals on the menu. We were anxious to have dinner here to celebrate our 53 year anniversary. We arrived on Friday night after office hours and found our site and "set up shop".In the morning I walked to the office to finalize our registration, as I looked around at the sites I noticed that the grassy areas between the sites were brown and not well maintained as I remembered and the restaurant was closed permanently!!!!! A real bummer.....The overall look of the park was disappointing based on what we experienced in 2012. If I had to guess it appears that there is new management and maintenance isn't a priority. There seems to be more permanent residents on site which is not a problem except that several of those sites had a lot of junk stored which was not attractive. Overall our stay served our purpose to get off the highway for a couple of nights before going to Kentucky.I have no incentive to visit Sundermeir again, there are many other parks to choose from.
Karen Langston: 45 foot with toW. Great wifi AT&T, T-mobile, Park wifi works really well. Propane onsite-total bonus! The RV park is conveniently located off the highway, with easy access. To reach the park, you'll travel down a residential road until you reach the end. Turn right at the entrance and the office is located on the right side and opens promptly at 10 am, so plan your arrival accordingly.Once you arrive, you'll be greeted by the wonderful hosts, Ms. Darlene and Ms. Carol, who embody warm family hospitality. They go above and beyond to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as possible, catering to your every need.Sundermeier is a well-maintained RV park that offers a range of amenities. The grounds are immaculately kept, and each spacious site comes with a picnic table, level concrete pads for your RV, car, and patio and a patch of grass. While the sites are average in terms of closeness to each other, they provide a comfortable setting.Although it is a basic park, Sundermeier offers clean and well-maintained showers, bathrooms, and laundry facilities. Additionally, the park welcomes rallies and provides an events room for hosting gatherings.Sites 1 to 40, are situated on the left side of the park, allowing you to enjoy the pleasant sound of passing trains. There are no train horns, just the nostalgic sounds that evoke childhood excitement. On the other side of the train bridge is the highway, but it's far enough away to provide white noise effect. There are planes airplanes flying overhead as the park is on the flight path for landing at the STL airport about 20 minutes away.Having experienced RV parks where the noise from airplanes was uncomfortably loud due to their proximity to airports, you may notice the sound of planes during your first day, it quickly becomes part of the blend of ambient noise, along with the distant hum of the highway and passing trains with no horns.Sites 41 to 114 on the right side of the park, with a mix of wonderful features. Sites 88-85 offer back balcony RV’s an overlook of green area surrounded by trees, making them ideal for RVs up to 35 feet in length.Sites 56-41 and 40-27 are back-ins accommodating up to 45 feet with North Main Street behind you, but it's a rarely used road. These sites also provide scenic views of Katy Trail State Park. Moreover, sites 109-114 are shaded and suitable for small RVs, campers, and vans, also with level concrete pads and a small access road in front, which is hardly used. The park itself is peaceful and serves as an excellent base for exploring St. Louis and the surrounding counties. The back gate grants you access to the Katy Trail, where you can enjoy walking, hiking, or biking along the picturesque Missouri River.Directly out the gate, there is a kids park, the Katy Trail, and footpaths that wind through the forest along the river. If you head left on the trail or road, you'll reach Ed Bales Park, which offers a kids park, cricket pitch/cages, and rock/gravel biking and hiking trails. DuSable Dog Park is also there, featuring a 2.5-acre facility divided into sections for dogs of different sizes.Alternatively, if you go right on the Katy Trail, you can explore the historic French town area, browse the shops, or treat yourself to coffee, breakfast, or even a haircut in this charming neighborhood. On Saturday mornings, you can ride or walk to the Farmers Market located just before entering the historic district of St. Charles.Continuing on the Katy Trail will lead you to Frontier Park, where you can visit the Lewis Clark Boathouse Museum. And, of course, don't miss the opportunity to explore the charming St. Charles Historic District. While Sundermeier RV Park may not offer all the extravagant bells and whistles to keep you entertained within its premises, it provides the necessary amenities to encourage you to venture out and discover the beauty of Missouri. Don't miss out on this hidden gem tucked quietly at the end of a residential area hugged by the forest.Nearby activities: Walking, hiking and biking are all around this park. It's a great starting point for adventures all around the area.Walkability: The back gate grants you access to the Katy Trail, where you can enjoy walking, hiking, or biking along the picturesque Missouri River.Noteworthy details: The back gate grants you access to the Katy Trail, where you can enjoy walking, hiking, or biking along the picturesque Missouri River.
DnMC98: Pros:CleanFlatConcrete padsFull hook upsPropane availablePicnic tablesEasy off the main roadPull through sitesCons:Dogs barking (this was the middle of the night so couldn't really report it, plus the people next to us had 3 dogs and weren't really quiet themselves)Residential, unkept part of townWifi, even right by the office was mediocre at bestCost (too much for what you get comparable to other campgrounds)No shade, more like a concrete parking lotNo firepits 😕We stopped for one night on a road trip. We wouldn't stay here again, unless the price more reflected the campground. Our road trip included stops at 7 places, this was the most expensive (by almost double) but offered the least and had the most cons (see above). It wasn't a horrible experience, but it wasn't a great experience overall.
Bosshogkcmo Philadelphia: Great campground. Big pull through spots.Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Tammie Sue Bruner: My spouse has cancer. We had a medical emergency require us to cancel our summer reservation and the lady was rude about it when i called n simply stated i needed to cancel our reservation. She insisted to charge a cancellation fee. Mind you my reservation was not until June 1, 2023. Its now only April 22. Yes its only $10 but Im sorry I wont try n go here again after she hung up on me. There should be no penalties when giving more than a month notice. I had every intention of staying there while looking for a new home over the summer paying the highest rates possible...cuz this was never about the $10 for me but customer service n principle. No thanks now. Never.ZERO STARS.
K C: Really a pretty good place for an overnight stop. It has nice flat concrete spots. No frills but full hook ups. Sure there is airplane noise, like others have complained but it's not obtrusive and quits at night. I would stop here again overnight.
Nug Neuman: We love this park. Large sites, friendly staff, close to nearby attractions. Highly recommendService: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Erin Metz: The owner/manager takes park resident safety seriously. If you drive in to visit and she isn't aware you were invited, she comes to see who you are and why you are there. It is a small RV park, and it backs up to a trail way on the Missouri River. It is pretty quiet even though it is not far from the interstate.Has water, sewer, and electric hookups available at most sites, I believe. The residents are friendly (there are some people who live at the park). Definitely a place to check out for proximity to St Louis, St Charles, and St Peters, Missouri, as well as Southern Illinois, if you want to stay with your RV during a trip to the area.
Kendrea Virgil: The site was all paved and there was a bench with each spot. The propane being sold on site was a plus. The city of St Charles is a gem. Don't overlook this wonderful RV park. The shower/bathroom is spacious and clean. There are more than enough washers and dryers. 10/10 would recommend.Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
sherry stewart: Great except a little noisy. (Planes, trains and automobiles!) Clean, level, reasonable price. Easy in and out sites.
Kobe Micheal: Very expensive, was told one price on the phone and another when I got there, WiFi was not secure and my antivirus wouldn't even let me connectService: 2/5|Location: 3/5 …More
terry voss: Enjoyed our stay. It was small but nice
Linda Dunlap: We just needed a place for 1 night on our trip last summer. Booked 6 months ahead. Upon checking in the lady at the desk said "I see you reserved a pull thru site. We don't have a pull thru to give you. Do you want a back in?" What am I going to say? No? After we were in our site we saw a trailer pull into one of the 4 pull thru sites we passed on the way in. They were gone the next morning when we left. Didn't sit very well with me.
jermaine simon: It was a great place to Rv, the staff is polite and friendly.
Stephanie: I have no idea why people gave this place higher ratings. It’s a crowded parking lot with no customer service besides some really rude receptionist who seems mentally unstable. Beware they will certainly take your money. We had to dispute with our bank and will be reporting to the BBB
Brian Kasmarzik: If I can give zeros starts I would. The rudest people I have ever dealt with in my life. We booked online and funds were withdrawn for something They didn’t have and they would not refund the money! And the worker spoke so poorly to us.
Julie Creech: Put in spot near dumpster. Didnt mind dumpster because the park is real clean near and tidy but site much too small for our rig. Office staff on top of their game. Very full campground, not a problem but the number of Class A rigs there with their pull behinds really crowded the whole park. No one's fault...it's just a tight campground. Utilities are good. Pads concrete and fairly level. Water pressure good...bring a regulator.
