West End Bistro: what do users think?
Bartholomew's Point: My family celebrated my wife's birthday and everything was awesome. The staff was very professional and the environment was outstanding, I can't wait to return to celebrate our anniversary here.
Norma Gonzalez: The food was delicious
Elizabeth: I made a reservation at the West End Bistro for a friday after my graduation. When we went to the address all the doors were locked and the lights were off. I called multiple times and each time it went straight to voicemail. We talked to someone who lives in the area and they said that the restaurant haven't been following their hours recently. However, when I made the reservation there was never anything mentioned about hours changing or possibility of them randomly being closed. And no one ever called me to let me know that they just weren't going to open on Friday. So disappointed with this.
Jim Snyder: The food was average; the scallops were overcooked. The sauce for the crab cake was excellent. The apps were served after the main course but our server did apologize. The decor was just off. The place needs a serious update.
Leander Beatty: This was my first time visiting West End Bistro. I went on the suggestion of a friend. She said it was a great place and she was right. We enjoyed the staff, the atmosphere, the music and of course, the food. I have absolutely no complaints. I was "concerned" about a somewhat long wait for our orders, but I learned that the food is "made to order", which makes it worth the wait. And the food was outstanding. I recommend visiting West End Bistro anytime. I hear they have live music on some evenings and an all-you-can-eat buffet / brunch on Sundays. I will definitely be returning!
Queen Scott: The food was amazing & reasonably price. My server was very friendly & attentive. Really lived the cup of gumbo.Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: Yes Takeout: Yes Delivery: Yes Curbside pickup: Yes …More
ihipera keefe: A MUST GOme and my hubby went today, immediately as we walked in the door we were greeted and seated, and our order was promptly taken. Our glasses were always full, and we were well taken care of. Need more mayonnaise? They gave it immediately. More utensils? No hassel. We were well taken care of the entire night, they checked up on us, as well as engaged in banter. When we offered feedback, they were more then open. The wait time was a little longer than I expected, though I suspect that is due to staffing issues.I highly reccomend the Seafood Gumbo and Chocolate cake, my hubby isn't a sweets guy, but he ate it up. It was my first time eating frog legs, was a more than pleasant experience.I think we will be regulars here now
Marla Canady: I enjoyed this place, in fact, can hardly wait to go back!
Maria Loredo: Honestly was not expecting how delicious the food was! When dinning out you usually expect good food, but this was DELICIOUS! The food was flavorful and well seasoned and the portions were nice for the price. Will definetly visit again whenever i come back to St. Louis!Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: Yes Takeout: Yes Delivery: Yes …More
Ina Young: Beautiful Place, the atmosphere is Really Nice, the food&drinks are Wonderful and having a Live Bands makes it even Better...
Loni Parker: The food was amazing! The hostess was amazing and our waiter to. I give 3 stars because we had a coupon that said the limit was 3 per person and he let us only use one I only had 2. I was going to be ignorant. It was $15 off from Groupon. We spent over $300, there were 5 of us. And we tipped well. And the bathroom was clean and the had lotion in there.
Peggy Heath: Our brisket was sour. The bgg burger was good.
Cedric Byas: Great place to go if you have nothing else to do for your ENTIRE day when you go.
Courtney Tutka: Food wasn’t the greatest
Prewitt Marlin: The place is Beautiful, our food was delicious 😋The Bartenders attitude was very nasty and mean..no smile...no greeting... or hospitality great entertainment...
Jennifer Ross: Came out to hear the live music and it was a great atmosphere and the food was great and great staff!
Mary DeSuza: So yummy!
Cathy Ramos: Excellent food & service. Not too crowded @ lunch time. Prices weren't bad for soup & salad for 2 under $25. Frrnch onion soup was great!
JinSun Lee: The owners and staffs are so great. Bery Responsive and kind and professional. I love this place. Always satitisfied and very high quality meals.
Gina Schad: Great, place, unique metro vibe, great food, Greater owners. Check this place out.Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: Yes Takeout: Yes Delivery: No Curbside pickup: No …More

Vin De Set: what do users think?
Eric Farson: Fantastic experience. The food and service here are some of the best in St. Louis. Period. Everyone was friendly - the host, waitress, and manager. I have never experienced this before at any restaurant in St. Louis. They really went above and beyond. I got the seabass and it was amazing. The patio is fantastic and also one of the best in St. Louis. I will be back once they reopen!
Eyreka Peterson: Edited 9/19/2022 to add that it is not shocking that this placed caught fire. Like I said below, major systemic issues.I wasn't going to write a review, but the service I received on a Friday evening (8/26/22) was so bizarre I've been thinking about it all weekend. I called the Thursday prior to inquire about reservations for 3:00 p.m. drinks and dinner. I was assured that it would be so slow at 3 that reservations would not be needed. I arrived at 3 p.m. with a party of 4 and no one was in the lobby or bar area so we waited around. A woman came through the door from outside on a mission and stopped in her tracks and asked "do you need something". Not rude, but certainly not kind. We explained we were there for drinks and dinner and she let us know there was no waitstaff to help us yet. Cool, I've worked food service before, I know how it goes right at opening. We asked if we could start with drinks and apps and were directed with a curt finger that it was outside. The bartender asks if we're going to order drinks and food, we say yes and order. We start towards the tables in the dining area and the bartender tells us we should sit in the bar area so she can bring out our apps. I let her know I need to sit at a low top table and there are none in the bar area. We proceed to sit at the table closest to the bar in the dining area. We are only there for a few minutes before she comes over to tell us that the table is reserved. There are zero people in the dining area. It's 3:20 p.m. I let her know that we're planning on ordering dinner and that I can't sit in a high top table. She assures us she has something over in her section. She seats us at a cheap cabana couch, directly in the sun (it's 98 degrees out) out on the deck. It has a tiny table that our drinks and apps barely fit on. We are boiling. We finish our apps and drinks and decided not to stay for dinner (because how even at that table). As we're leaving there are 2 tables seated in the dining area. No reason for us to have been moved. The drinks were great, the food that we had was delicious, the service was the absolute strangest thing I've ever come across. I'm willing to make excuses for 1 person having a tough afternoon and providing subpar service - it happens. When it's multiple people and multiple instances - that's systemic.
Brittany Griffith: Many thanks to Mike and the manager for making our day. The service was good and prompt. See you again soon :)
Malcomn Roach: Still a good place for Sunday brunch. Prime rib is awesome
beautybyraelynn: The women at reception was insanely rude to my group. I felt like I was dreaming… she ruined our evening from the moment we walked in. I never write reviews but I couldn’t help myself.
Ryan Daigle: Always a delicious meal. We've been going here for about 12 years and they always impress!
D M: Absolutely perfect brunch. Danita was our wait staff person today and she was wonderful!
Salvatore Scotto: Nice place, good dinner, staff friendly.
Issa Lifestyle 1: There was mouse droppings on the table. No one working there even attempted to cleaned it up. Horrible first impression. The hostess working Sunday 8/28 around 10:15am did not greet us when we arrived, she said something to a server then continued to eat her bacon. I said "hello" and she replied, "Can I help you?". Immediately I felt the quality of the experience sink to fast food level. I let her know we were there for brunch she asked "Do you have a reservation?" "No we do not." She shoveled the last of her bacon into her mouth, grabbed 2 menus with her hands she just put in her mouth and walked away. We reluctantly followed hoping to recover the ambience of the experience but at this point we are already not feeling welcome. We were guided through a small bar area and sat near a window in the back of the room. Immediately we noticed the droppings on the table, but the hostess had already gone back to the host stand. We never even sat down. I walked back to the host stand to bring the issue to the bacon eating hostess' attention to which she said 'it isn't feces or else we would be shut down'. I advised her that was exactly why I came to tell her instead of taking a picture. Her reply was "Go ahead take a picture cause it's not that." I replied,"OK I will." The person I was with had to ask for a different table, it was not offered to us by the hostess. She said 'the only other space I have is this or that', pointing toward a table in the corner by the door of the room we had just left. We walked over to the table ourselves. As I noticed she was not going to formally seat us, so I took it upon myself to retrieve the menus we left at the poop table and of course to take the photos of the mouse droppings on the table and in the window seal as suggested by the hostess (see attached). It took us about 10 minutes to find a different place to go for brunch; the entire time no one attempted to investigate or clean up the mess we reported. As we left the manager tried to speak to us but it was too late. I couldn't leave that place fast enough. People deserve to have a choice what environment their food is in especially during pandemic times. Definitely looks like rat sh't!!! I will not return.
Michael Wallace: Weather made it perfect. Their rooftop experience is top notch. And their servers are attentive
Jim Williamson: Rooftop bar with a view of the arch
Grant Young: Just stepped out of Vin De Set and couldn’t have been more displeased. We showed up at open, after being advised to do so on a Friday as it will get busy. So we showed up and got ignored until we told the hostess we’d like to have a drink and apps. After being pointed to the bar, through the window, we headed over. One party doesn’t deal well with high top chairs, so we headed to a 4 too under shade after being told “I won’t be able to give you service but that’s okay, I’ll till serve you”So we sat in the shade and maybe 3 minutes later we’re told the entire area was reserved and we had to sit in the sunniest area of the roof top. Had we not ordered, we would have left. This was the oddest and most uncomfortable experience I’ve had in any restaurant, not just in St Louis. If you want bad service, rude staff, and to be lied to, accompanied with honestly good food and cocktails - this is your spot.
Suzie Scrivner: This is my second time here. The food is great! Courtney our server and Bryson the bartender were wonderful. The woman at the hostess stand made me feel like I was intruding. She even came to me and my table at the end of the night to let me know that they were closing at 10. I did not see her tell any of the other patrons that they were closing. I will not come back to this place. We spent over $500 and felt like we were being kicked out early. There were four of us. We asked who she was and were told her name was Sharee. We still had full drinks and desserts. Please put a smile on your face when you are greeting customers. Don’t make them feel like they are not welcome.
Beverly: What happened? Last year we had a lovely birthday dinner with wonderful food; the set menu was fabulous, and the staff were incredibly attentive. This year it was just… bad. The baked brie with strawberry-basil marmalade would have benefited from a more generous serving of the marmalade, but that was forgivable. The coq au vin was absolutely flavorless and dry—confusing given that the dish is literally cooked in red wine. Interestingly, it was served on the same dish shape as the steak even though there was liquid on the dish (still somehow flavorless). The veggies were reminiscent of those served in an elementary school cafeteria. The strip steak was overdone, and the best that I can say about it is that it can be used in leftovers. (Un)happy birthday!
Janeth Hernandez: We had the steak and frites very disappointing. The steak was so fatty and tasted like burnt rubber. Drinks were bland and below average. Prices are far too high for the quality of food. We’ve even been here twice because we really wanted to like it since it is walking distance from our house. Never leave reviews but felt like I should.
Steve McCormick: I feel like it is overpriced. $33.00 / person for a 3 course brunch. They used to have a brunch buffer that was worth 33.00. The service was excellent.
Coleen Hill: Excellent staff, food and rooftop view! One of my very favorite St Louis restaurants. We have not had a bad meal yet. Also wonderful desserts!
cufta05: We dropped in based on a Google search on restaurant with a terrace. Also, we thought it would be possible to order a coffee because of the French restaurant. Unfortunately, our thinking was wrong. The quality of the coffee was terrible. The service was bad. The employees together with the manager did not seem to know where to put us. We wandered around to find an area for "coffee drinkers". The manager who was on duty did not care when we told her that the coffee was terrible. Overall C-Coffee 1.5/10Service 5.5/10
Cheryl Andrews: Great food and service
Mark Leibu: Probably better for dinner. Sunday brunch, so and vs so
Eric W Thompson: Good view outside on the roof. Fine food with attentive service. Prime rib was awesome.

Leah Dennison: I got the pot roast samwhich- it was just okay, the dipping sauce made it better but overall it was kind of plain. Large portion. The side pasta was average/typical. Good size. The chicken milanese was just okay too but very fresh. All the food was good, fresh ingredients were used, just overall seemed to lack. Total spent $57.xx with $10 tip.
R. Alvarado: I've enjoyed the low key atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food was equally phenomenal!!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
David Belser: Fish tacos were just breaded nothing and dry...service was terrible even the restaurant being empty
Susana Rocha: I loved their chicken Caesar salad and chicken white chili. Their sandwiches and desserts are good. The only issue I had was that the menu was limited at times due to short staff. Not a big deal, but I feel it is worth mentioning. The staff is great.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Classic Gooey Butter Cake, Smash Burger …More
Taylor Larsen: Breakfast was pretty good, especially the fruit bar. Worst part was the waiter was in a bad mood and kept muttering under his breath and complaining
Andrew Sharpless: Service was spotty but Gooey Butter Cake was decent.
Morgan Alexander: Terrible experience. Seated while waiting for our rooms to be finished. Waited about 20 minutes (they were busy) for a drink order/acknowledgement. We ordered drinks and hoped to have 2-3. After we ordered and got our drinks, we waited 45 minutes before we finally left money on the table and left. The waitress stopped at every table around us asking their needs, getting checks, etc., but never once stopped at our table again.
gary warren: Came in here last night and Genci was behind the bar. The draft beer I ordered was way over priced the menu they had was bland no food items had a description on it. Everything on the menu was way over priced after having Genci become very rude for asking questions about the menu I decided to try the pretzels they had. The pretzel were not pretzel they used numbed shaped pizza dough brushed with butter and no salt and they did not even taste good
Amanda Candler Smith: CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS if you order from here!! Our group of 12 spent a couple hours here eating and drinking, and almost all of our items' prices on the receipts did NOT match the menu prices 🤬🤬
Michael Carr: Just uploading the menu which doesn’t seem to exist anywhere. Did not eat here.
Donald Dickerson: Even with only 2 workers on Jan 1st they did wonderful getting everyone's order. I wish this was how the Hiton Hotel was run while their but that rating is in another post.Food was good I prefer my chicken wings to be crispy but they were good the way they cooked them. The salad was great and the drinks had just enough alcohol to soda so it was awesome. If you stay at the hotel hop down and get a drink or 2 maybe a appetizer that is more than enough to satisfy you you wont even need the meal.
Laura Cook: Ordered a Cesar salad with salmon. Good flavor but extremely salty. Good staff.
Lacey Inman: Bar service and bartenders were AWESOME! Came here with a girl friend and had a great time! Matt and Lucio were the best!! Drinks were perfectly mixed and they were great company!
James heath: Food was very good, priced a little high, drinks good and also priced a little high... They must teach these servers to walk the same, very slow on service but overall good dinner... Wouldn't recommend with so many restaurants in walking distance
Bernadette M: The salads were very tasty. The table beside me ordered the salmon, which smelled amazing and fresh. The vanilla creme brulee was perfect.
Kevin Mercier: Great french onion soup.
Josh N: I was one of the first guests in the AM for the breakfast buffet. The hot food was terrible. It had obviously just been saved from the previous day and reheated. The biscuits were hard as bricks and the French toast was soggy. Good thing I had a breakfast voucher- there's no way I would have paid the $19 buffet price out of pocket!
Leslie Overturf: Had a drink here with my husband after arriving at the hotel and waiting for our room. Drinks were way over priced and even more pricey than the menu price listed. Also, the waitresses were all in tiny black dresses that BARELY covered their back side. They all had a ton of cleavage showing. To the point of everyone feeling uncomfortable around them. How desperate and unprofessional. Why would kids or anyone need to see that in a hotel about a ballpark. Ridiculous. If you need to see that kind of attire, go to a strip club.
