John Messmer: Walking into Henry Kitchen and Bath was a big mistake. My wife and I went to them for what should have been a small project: bathroom sink, vanity, and cabinetry. They told us it would probably take a few months to get everything ordered, scheduled, and completed. Almost a year later and the project is still not completed.It was a comedy of errors from the start. First, they forgot to order the sink/counter. Then they ordered, delivered, and installed the wrong sink/counter. Then they forgot to order the handles/knobs for the cabinetry. Then they ordered the wrong handles and knobs. Promises were always made and most of the time they were broken. Excuses and delays. Excuses and delays. Making matters worse, communication was abysmal.But here is what my wife and I found most unforgiveable: at no time in this entire ordeal were we ever provided an apology; no recognition of how outrageous it was that a project that was originally expected to be completed in May 2022 was still unfinished in January 2023; no acknowledgement that the inconvenience that we were going through wasn’t normal. Is this business as usual for them? Maybe.Henry Kitchen and Bath made it crystal clear that they didn’t care and that they weren’t willing to take any responsibility for their mistakes. They were very adamant about us paying upfront. But not so adamant about doing the job correctly or in a reasonable amount of time.Run – don’t walk – away from Henry Kitchen and Bath. It was a horrendous experience.

Jennifer Brown: Recap: I recommend going into the Henry showroom to look at things in person but never to purchase from here.I work as a designer/GC coordinator and had a client who had purchased all of her plumbing fixtures for a large bathroom at Henry, which the plumber had recommended. A couple weeks after obtaining the fixtures, she decided to go with a different color scheme. We went through her receipts to find the return policy and there was nothing that was clear in the paperwork, so I had her call Henry. When she asked if there would be any issue returning the items, the sales associate said a cheerful, "No! Not at all." (I know this because I was present when the call was made on speaker phone). This was not the case. She was able to return the items that Henry had in stock for a full refund but anything that they had ordered through the supplier was subject to a 60 percent restocking fee, which applied to over $2000 worth of items. It would be one thing if the employee had told her that over the phone, and though it still would have been outrageous in my opinion, at least we would have known before purchasing the new fixtures. My client spoke to various Henry employees over the next week explaining the miscommunication but Henry never made it right. I have spoken with the plumber that we used and told him that any future job he does with us would not use Henry and suggested he not use them for other jobs as well.Overall, I recommend going to Henry to see fixtures in person but never to buy from them. The same exact items are available at Amazon and Wayfair and their customer service is exponentially better, with no restocking fees and often free return shipping. Also, Kohler, Moen, Delta, etc will still honor any lifetime warranties if you purchase from Amazon or Wayfair. There's really no reason to purchase from Henry. I hope this saves someone else from losing a lot of money like my client did!Service:Remodeling

J S: No more 1930’s STL bathroom! As someone who has had very bad experiences with contractors in the STL region, I cannot recommend this company enough! From the beginning they were extremely responsive during the bid process. Marina patiently answered all of my numerous questions and was able to bid the job based on a photo of my space.The tech who did the work made sure to phone me about fixtures I was saving and to double check my color. He even replaced a couple of the broken tiles instead of sanding them down, which surprised me! You can only slightly tell a difference if you’re really looking, but it’s sooo much better and I think is nicer looking than sanding. So thank you for that! He left my space clean and tidy and more beautiful than when he got there. Adam Akers: We got our bath tub refinished a while back. The company said if we had any damage to it they would come patch it up. We have had them out 3 times. This last time the owner of the company came out, looked at the tub and said he didn't like the way it was done the first time and he would come back out and redo the whole thing for free. He stood behind his work and said that did not represent what he wanted his company to represent. That is a great stance and I could not tell you how much I appreciated that. They really do stand by the name of their website. I could not recommend them more!

Ben Tiller: I had a badly peeling cast iron tub that I needed repaired. I got a next-day quote that was higher than I expected, but in line with other quotes I received. They offered a date to strip and re-finish the tub many months out about due to their demand. Due to a pregnancy in the house, I needed it re-finished sooner. They accommodated my need and did the re-finishing a few weeks later. The re-finishing worker was professional, quick, and kept the chemical smell down. The tub looks great and everything was cleaner than when he started. Definitely recommend.

Steven Edelman: I've used this company at least three times to refinish tubs over the past three years. Two tubs maintained the refinishing but for minor chipping near the drain. The third tub that I had refinished by this company completely fell apart and now looks as bad as it did when they came to refinish it, if not worse. I was told by the company that they would not fix their work because it was a year and a half past their date of refinishing, and they only give a year warranty. I only became aware that the tub was falling apart when tenants moved out. The tenants told me for the first time that that it started falling apart within the year's warranty time from refinishing. Still this company would not fix their work. After paying this company upwards of $400 only to have their work fall apart, I will not be using this company again for any property. They have lost my repeat business. I've been informed by plumbers there are other companies that give much longer warranties and do better quality work. I suggest any homeowner look for an alternative business to do refinishing.

Jeff Wertenberger: We chose Karr Bick in large part due to their assurance to work within our budget, among other reasons. We paid a retainer and scheduled a contractor to begin work eight months out. Then, proposals for materials included NO consideration for our budget. This was not a 10-15% miss, but rather a 30-40% miss! Several months passed before we realized that our budget was not able to be met. Further adding to our extreme disappointment and frustration, Karr Bick has refused to refund our retainer (which would have been applied towards the cost of the project). Our project is now delayed as we search for a new path. Be careful – the disregard for budget and lack of transparency in pricing is concerning.

They took 2 days to call me back and when they did the lady told me “Well we just took a wall out recently and that was $9,000”. Which is fine I know my wall isn’t gonna take 10 grand to do so I asked when they could come out for the free estimate, which the lady told me they do. She then proceeded to ask me if I could afford 10 grand. When I said no she said “Well I don’t think we need to come out then”. If that’s how you want to run your company then I’ll take my 5 grand somewhere else. Don’t bother calling them unless you wanna spend more than 10 grand.

We have used other contractors in the past and after the work is completed my husband and I look at each other and say we miss Joe! He might be a little more expensive then someone else but you know the job will be done right and all paperwork and billing is done in a timely manner.

I can say that the recent restructuring of the menu along with the portion size will either have you leaving hungry or easily spending $50 a person or more. Again very good food but the value of the experience is gone. It's also very small and loud in there and parking is quite difficult to secure.Parking: There is parking but very little and the spots in back are hard to access. You're likely parking next door where you aren't supposed to.

John Vardeman: Food is awesome. Service is wonderful. But has anyone experienced the rudeness of the management like my family has? We were treated rudely by manager in an incident over three years ago so it took a while to get over it and return in 2023. Oh my goodness — deja-vu tonight. We were so respectful and pleased with our dinner but manager appeared angry that we were late reservation at 7:45. He couldn’t wait to move us out of the restaurant, even turning off the lights in the adjoining room at 8:45 pm. We only would go back because the service is good and food so wonderful — but the management is so unappreciative of their customers. And I don’t understand why. So I doubt we will return or even recommend to our friends in Gainesville. Gosh, we love the food so much that I believe we will just try take-out there next time to avoid the manager
