TK Kenny: Worst experience of my life. I went in for the surgery and ended up with life altering problems. The results I got from their services:- MRSA- Nearly dying of sepsis- Being forced to seek help from 3 different hospitals, not including Des Peres- dozens of doctors and surgeons trying to keep me alive- WEIGHT LOSS - but not the healthy kind. The kind where I was so sick, I was unable to eat and literally began to starve to death. (Couldn't lift my head off a pillow. I couldn't walk 10 feet or I'd faint etc. It's a very long list.)- Needing a feeding tube which could not be placed correctly due to the bypass surgery not being done correctly- Infections that spread so far my entire abdomen is now a massive scar that is so thin you can see the blue sutures that my body hasn't rejected yet. I can't stand/sit up straight because the skin is so tight.- Loss of my belly button. A small loss in the grand scheme of things. But one more piece of normalcy I don't have.- 3 separate PICC lines which were the only nutrition my body wouldn't reject since the feeding tube with it's formula only made me sicker due to it's high sugar.- Medical bills I will never be able to pay off. I very likely will be forced to declare bankruptcy.- 5 years of what was supposed to be the prime of my life gone. Spent in and out of the ICU- An intense fear of needlesBut yeah, I did lose the weight I guess.I truly hope anyone who decides to move forward with a surgery from this location has a wonderful experience. I know some people have had wonderful experiences. But mine was hell. Absolute hell. If it weren't for the last surgeon I had at BJC hospital, and I don't say this lightly, I would have killed myself. The mental and physical trauma I was forced to live with were unbearable. I can't afford health insurance due to some of my issues now being considered pre-existing conditions. Thank God for my family, some amazing dedicated nurses, and a handful of doctors who actually cared. If it wasn't for them, I would be dead. Life was unliveable. I just wanted to lose weight. I lost so much more.If I had to recommend anything, seek a counselor or therapist and talk about your self esteem. If it's for health reasons, look at any and all options. If you ignore this, I truly wish you the best and a speedy recovery. Jan Karsten: Dr Minkin did lapband surgery on me when if he would have known his job would have turned me down because I have an autoimmune disease and my grandmother did too. I now have Crohn's Disease and had to have my total colon removed. Within a month after my surgery I got sick and I was totally healthy before then. Dr Minkin stole my life from me.

Susan Jones: I am sorry to hear some people had a bad experience. Personally I was fortunate to have had a good experience all the way through. My surgery started with Doctor Scott, who did a fantastic job (I have lost over 140 Pounds to date). I read some people weren’t happy when he left. He wanted to go into research and teaching. I then went on to be Doctor Ricks patient, Once again he was friendly, courteous, and listened. He also did a fantastic job.I did follow Doctor Scott as he was going to do my Panniculectomy, but he left the facility where he went to because he wasn’t getting much research and teaching time in. I came back to My New Self, because they had no surgeon at one point that would do the Panniculectomy, Angela one of the staff said they had a NEW surgeon that does the surgery. Needless to say Doctor Lederer did a fantastic job, and was ALSO kind, courteous, and very knowledgeable.I was impressed to see pretty much most of the staff come in each day at some point in the day. YES even his nurse. I was also impressed that as I was being discharged, Doctor Lederer came in, and THANKED both myself and my son for allowing him to be the surgeon that did the surgery. Just a note, I did have a complication with a drain (but this happens folks no matter how good or clean the drain can be.) I had to go to the ER, and Doctor Lederer had called over to them before I got there telling them I was going to be coming in and had a list of what tests/cultures he wanted done…I call that impressive service!I have found the ENTIRE STAFF to be friendly and courteous at any given time. Being a nurse myself, I can say the My New Self program is one of the best in the area. I would recommend it to anyone. I hate to say it but perhaps people that have had an issue perhaps deep down didn’t really want to go through with the procedure deep down. It is not a willy nilly surgery, YOU HAVE to be dedicated and truly want it in order for it to work.

frank berry: Was to of attended a meeting on 6/7 at 6pm. We watched several people look at us exiting the clinic and without a word haul butt for the door. About 630 a Lady stopped and asked if we knew where the staff was for the class. After finding no one here made a phone call only to find the class canceled. Not only did they not make any phone calls , they did not bother to update the website.

And, once again, has nothing to do with Dr. Scott leaving-hopefully his new staff doesn't have the god-complex these people do!My experience went from bad to worse-From the first time the seminar they require you to attend was canceled without ANY notice (on the first nice Saturday of the year SURPRISE!) To the day (3/14) I called to schedule an appointment, only to find out Dr. Scott was leaving. I SPECIFICALLY asked if the rest of my appointments for testing, which had already been scheduled and ordered, would be honored and was told they would be. Well, after paying a baby sitter, taking off work and arriving at the hospital I found out the tests were canceled on...(drum roll please) 3/11-that's right-THREE WHOLE DAYS BEFORE I ASKED IF THEY WERE STILL SCHEDULED!As Kip said-new doctors can't get any info from them, either. Oh, and they just went ahead and sent everyone to Dr. Eagon's office without telling him. So that was pretty professional too. Lack of care, compassion, professionalism, ethics and humility. The surgeons are the ones operating on the patients, but the staff at this office doesn't know that.

Kara Rogers: This place is a joke. Got all my pre-reqs done and then Dr Richardson bailed on his patients and left us high and dry. We all had to find new doctors and start the process over again. What a waste of money and time! The nutritionists barely gave me any new information about diet and I only saw Dr Richardson for 5 min max each time I saw him (2 visits). He lacked any form of bedside manner and could care less about his patients. The receptionist forgot about me on my first visit and I waited 2 hours before they got me in!! Now I'm going through bills and their antiquated billing system charged me double for several visits and no one will return my call so I can get my money back from this unethical, unprofessional company. One star is being VERY generous! Thank God I didn't have my surgery done here or I might have died from their incompetence.

Evelyn Hemphill: I started the weight loss program November of 2018. I have really enjoyed my experience. Not only have I loss a noticeable amount of weight, I was given the tools an resources to be able to continue to lose and also maintain on my own. I was skeptical initially because I've tried so many diets in the past, but this really is a lifestyle change that is realistic and can be implemented all the time. Also, the counselors are very knowledge and provide a lot of good tips and recommendations.

I have gotten an education about weight management too. I have never had that before at any weight loss facility. Most places want your money and don't offer much more except their food.
