Aya Sofia Restaurant: what do users think?
Justin Dixon: Amazing 🤘
Paul Niesen: This little restaurant is a gem. Parking was tight, but the food and service more than made up for that inconvenience. I enjoyed the shrimp kebab -- wonderfully seasoned, served with rice and seasonal vegetables. Our party feasted on humus and flatbread as an appetizer. Our waiter recommended a wine that went well with our dishes. In all, an absolute treat. I look forward to my next visit there!Vegetarian options: The menu has a nice array of vegetarian-friendly dishes. They all sounded wonderful.
Sonjay Joseph Fonn, DO: Dang! Where do I start. The ambiance, music and hostess were the only good things. Place was empty on a Friday night which was our first clue as to the impending horrible food and service - the waiter was in a regular tee shirt and shorts😳, took forever despite only two other tables, forgot our salad; and the food didn’t make up for it - dry, stringy overcooked kabobs and old dry rice. $60 for an appetizer and entree.
Deborah Seeger: We waited a relatively long time for being the only customers not served yet. Food was over cooked. We ordered a beet salad and never got it. There was only 2 other tables occupied, our server should have been on top of the order.
Sandeep Nair: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Chris Hogg: Fantastic food and service!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Humus …More
Ashley: Has this restaurant always automatically added 20% gratuity? We’ve come to this restaurant at least 10 times always on a Friday night and we’ve never looked at the itemized receipt. Tonight was different because I was curious on how much they charged for the chocolate martini and I saw the gratuity on there. We never cared to look at the itemized receipt because we always tip 20%. I am going to be livid if our server which is usually the blond guy with glasses has been receiving a 40% tip the other 10 times we’ve been there. In addition, the 20% tip is not posted anywhere in the restaurant or on the menu.
Meghan Brauch: Lovely experience at Aya Sofia this past weekend celebrating a birthday. Not only did we have amazing food and service, but they gave us champagne after we had to hide in the hallway from the tornado warning. I highly recommend this restaurant!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Thara P Iyer: Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
L J: The food, service, and the atmosphere is always good here. I've been here for several major occasions in my life, it's become nostalgic for my husband and I, and we've always had good food and a good experience.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Janelle Watts: Went on my birthday. Great food, amazing staff, just not the best parking options, but that hasn't stopped using from repeated visits.Parking: Very few spots by the restaurant. Had to park in a lot in an alley behind the restaurant.
Cathy M: My first time and it won't be my last!I had the House Speciality Bream fish.Absolutely Delicious!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ted Meyer: I have never had Turkish cuisine before. Rarely have Lamb. The chops were EXCELLENT. Everyone enjoyed their dishes.
Sahar z: food was average but it is nice place but kinda dark, there is no enough light in middle part of the restaurant to even recognize your food color
Farnaz Babaie: Great Turkish food! We had Kofte and Islandar. Both were delicious and tasty. The staff were so polite and nice. They checked with us very often and refill drinks almost every 5 mins. It was good but I think it was too much. I have one small point that they can easily fix. It was so dark there. We could not see what was in our plate.
Sean Murphy: This restaurant is an absolute hidden gem, and we have dined here enough times to assert this fact. Friday night was no exception; Prescott took care of us, which was the second time we’ve had him as our server, and he did not disappoint. Super well-versed on the menu AND of Mediterranean cuisine and wine, he steered us in the right direction while also taking exceptional care of us.I ordered the Tavuk (chicken) stew. Served in cast iron, it reminded me of a delicious yet not-too-spicy chicken Tikka or Tandoori dish, the latter of which as Prescott described it. We got the Meze platter for the table, and everything on it was fresh and delicious, but OMG the hummus and fresh pita are as good as they come! My spouse had the Kofte platter, and that might be my favorite dish of all.All in all, consistently delicious with unique and fresh flavors, paired with outstanding service and beautiful interior decor, are what keep us coming back again and again.
Egemen Curuk: This place is an experience!I was introducing Turkish cuisine to my friend and this restaurant made me feel proud. We got lahmacun (it’s quite big like a pizza) very rich in flavor, shish lamb kebab (see picture) I mean it speaks for itself. The grilled vegetables were great as a side. We also ordered a skewer of Adana, it was an experimental version of the authentic Adana kebab and it was indeed very good. That was my friend’s favorite. Also, baklava was PERFECT. The chef of this restaurant is an expert in seafood, you’ll see the news stories in the entrance. Definitely try those options. Have it with some Rakı.Other than that, great ambiance, nice concept, great lounge type music, well trained and professional staff, welcoming host. The place has a very nice high-end vibe. We will definitely come back, with more people! Serefe!
Mehriban Ahmadova: Perfect place, service and delicious meals.
Elke Overton: Amazing place! Very excited about this new discovery! So many menu items and choices! Very eclectic!!Recommended dishes Grape Leaves, Kuzu Incik, Baba Ganoush …More
Jenn Maguire: Fantastic food so delicious 👏

OLIO: what do users think?
Hannele Haapala: Best hummus, best pita, latter homemade and served warm. Delicious beets in creamy sauce.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Tess Losada Miner: We are obsessed! Sit on the patio, get all the dips, the egg salad from heaven, and the roasted carrots which are divine - a cold glass of white wine in the sun under a parasol and wow you’re about as close to Europe as you can get in STL. Never change, Olio!!Recommended dishes King of Kings Hummus, Hummus and Pita, Famous Egg Salad …More
Johnson Lancaster: Second visit for me and a dinner guest. The food is amazing. The beverages were spot on.
Jeromy Boze: Great food. Patio is very nice.
Judy Ross: Food delicious, service not so great. We had a 11 am reservation. Several minutes after ordering we were told that they were out of several of their main dishes including the lamb and the chicken. In general we found the staff to be kind of rude. They brought out one entree and then the rest of the table had to wait 20 minutes for their meals. The outdoor seating is lovely— especially for those of us who love to garden.
Peter Maliha: Delicious food! Really hearty and fresh. You walk out feeling really good and satisfied. One of the best daytime spots in STL.
Pedja Maodus: Odlična jagnjeće butkica za rucak u 16h
Jess Watson: Very disappointed. Tock lost our reservation, but the host was kind enough to make it work and seat us outside. (Cold and windy but I don’t blame them for seating us outside, it was the reservation apps fault). Our server seemed mad to serve us and had very few words to say. The only time he was fast to return and check in on us was when we asked for the check. The starters were good but not worth it. Some $10-15 tiny plates are so delicious that you don’t care that it is basically $3/bite. This was not the case here. Shishitos we’re basically flavorless and the pickled veggies were cut so big and were so underwhelming in both flavor and presentation. The warm pita and the caponata was great. The only reason I might try Olio again. We got some cocktails that were average so nothing to say about those. We were so disappointed by our server that we didn’t even bother ordering dinner and we instead just got take out from Tin roof. I hope that the server was just having a bad day because he was unpleasant to interact with. Shame because we went there to celebrate my college graduation and were ready to enjoy some great food and cocktails.
Giancarlo Andreoli: Il cibo era ottimo, peccato che mancassero diverse cose dal menù
rosalind latham: I have been passing by this place for 3 years, so when my girlfriend wanted to go for her birthday dinner, I joined her. The place is so cute with its own herb garden and greenhouses. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat down and ordered drinks, which were excellent. The menu, which is Mediterranean, isn't very big, but we ordered different entrees so we could see what they were. I had the lamb shank since the lamb shoulder with hummus was sold out. It came with 3 sauces and yellow rice and chickpeas. It was cooked just right and was very good. It was supposed to be a plate for two, but I could eat that all by myself. My only complaint is the glasses the drinks came in were smaller than the usual martini glass, and the chairs are auditorium chairs and too hard. We had a great time and will go back again.
Maggie Oliveri: Food was AMAZING!!
Amy Fitzgerald: Highly recommend! Amazing food and drinks and great service. Love the ambiance. Lots of vegan options too!
Adam Levine (Adam Nate Levine): i mean. we’re talking fresh food on a hot st. louis summer day? nothing hits the spot better
Joseph Ensley: Wow!!! The food was DELICIOUS and we could tell attention was paid to the quality of ingredients. Bartender was knowledgeable about various types of alcohol and liqueurs, and the drinks were fantastic! I would highly recommend the hummus with the pine nuts (can't remember the name at the moment), but it was so good we ordered one to go! I wish we lived closer because this would certainly be a regular spot to enjoy!
Sheri Lind: Incredible botanical garden with a gorgeous menu. Service could be improved all around. Disappointed they were out of olives. Perfect place for patio weather!
Devinee Stroud: My husband and I came to Olio for a date night and we had such a great experience! They happened to have a wine tasting happening while we were there and we had a great time enjoying the wines as well as chatting with the featured vineyard owners. The servers were friendly and cheerful. The food was so so delicious. My husband and I split the deluxe hummus, the bruschetta toast and the egg salad toast and it was more than enough for the both of us. I also got the ginger spritz which was really refreshing. We left full and satisfied! Will definitely be coming back and bringing friends next time.
Joshua Spurgeon: Very fun lunch date in a tastefully converted restaurant from a historic automotive shop/garage.Unique small plates of food to share and enjoy.Excellent service and delicious menu items in a memorable dining experience. They have indoor seating, a large outdoor patio area, and a small indoor private room for parties or reservations. My wife and I liked this place very much.
videsh deshmukh: Excellent food. Plenty of vegetarian options. Service was very good.
Yigal Y: Wonderful atmosphere.Good service
Jason Hoffarth: Olio was great and the epitome of middle eastern cuisine! The chicken kefta and turkey thigh were both tender and juicy and the flavors were out of this world. You gotta check this place out!
Marzen Baldonado: Awesome Chai!

Rekyks: So we have been coming here off and on for a couple of years. It is one of my favorite restaurants around. The food is so freaking good. The service is such a hit or miss thing. We went there, the day of me getting released from the hospital on a Tuesday at noon. It was busy as hell, and there was guy attending and he was swamped. So I do not hold the service against them, it just seems they may be understaffed.Otherwise it's order at the counter, and food is brought up front and you can then sit where you want to eat. It's a pretty no frill place. You get what you are ordered and it comes quickly! Will continue to hit this Gem in St. Louis
TraaaaGiiiiKz: Beyond terrible experience. Ordered a gluten free salmon entree with rice for take out. When I got around to eating my food, I noticed that the fish was raw. Called the restaurant & the employee that I spoke with said to come in for a replacement meal. Next day I go in to give it another try, because everybody makes honest mistakes, right? Wrong, at least in this case. When my food was handed to me, that same employee in a very sarcastic tone said "don't worry... I promise that it won't be raw this time". Again, I get home to eat my food, and it indeed was NOT raw. Not only was the fish completely burnt, but it had vermicelli noodles (not a gluten free ingredient) on it as well. As mentioned above, I truly find it hard to believe that this was an accident. Seems like something done out of spite, which could've ended very badly for the restaurant if I had consumed the gluten that I'm very allergic to. Gave the restaurant yet another call, spoke to the same employee, and it seemed as if he had anticipated the phone call. Acknowledged what I said and offered for me to come get a 3rd replacement meal. No thank you! It's not about replacing the meal, it's about taking certain situations more seriously. Don't bother wasting your time or money here, 0/10.

R Cusick: Now this is a restaurant. Tons of seating. Absolutely spotlessly clean. Great service. Clean bathrooms that went along with the Mediterranean theme. And best of all, absolutely stellar food! We'd had takeout from The Vine, but never eaten there. But we stopped in and I ordered the Lebanese Nachos and falafel. The nachos are INCREDIBLE and the falafel made for too much food, but...get the falafel. So good, reheats perfectly. The nachos are pita chips with hummus, cabbage, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, parsley, and green onion, with a dollop of what I believe was sour cream, maybe yogurt. The falafel comes with pickles, pickled beets (?), pepperoncini, and tomatoes, plus one entree or the other came with fresh pitas. We both had leftovers.I'm going back for those nachos the minute I'm hungry again. Seriously, my favorite dish I've tried in ages. And it's vegetarian, likely vegan without the sour cream.Vegetarian options: So many vegetarian options! The menu is probably 50/50.
Jay Fries: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Lamb Chops, KibbehMore
MaryTodd Cannon: Our family’s go-to place when we order out. The falafel is outstanding. The hummus is great. Can’t go wrong with The Vine
John K: We dined there and I ordered the mixed Shawarma, chicken and beef, hummus and the Mango Mania smoothie. Great flavor and the chicken was very tender. The beef was chewy so I recommend sticking with just chicken. The hummus was served in a plastic container and my reaction was this wasn’t made on premise. My daughter’s take was the restaurant was geared for mostly take out. The pita served with the hummus was not warmed. This made it a bit chewy. The smoothie was Delicious. I would order it again. This is a very casual restaurant and it’s family friendly. No parking lot so you’ll park on the street. You go to the counter to order then they’ll call your name when your food is ready.
Jamie Bronder: BEST FOOD IN TOWN! Could not ask for more flavorful dishes. Ari and his team are hardworking, considerate, and most importantly great chefs! Thank you to everyone at the Vine for making our wedding day so special. Every guest raved about how wonderful the food was. The Vine will forever be my favorite STL restaurant!
Brett Wahle: We asked the Vine to cater our wedding. Not only was the food absolutely incredible, but Ari and the team did everything they could to work for us (which I cannot say for every vendor). We asked to have food ready the day before, and the day of, we asked for them to use our catering pans, and several calls and amendments to the order etc. And while this was obviously more burdensome for them, they accepted these requests with out hesitation. You can tell that they have lots of experience catering to large groups. On the food: the meat is flavorful and moist, and all of the other dishes are rich, and satisfying (everything you would expect from them). The price is unbelievably fair - I do not know where to find food of this quality for this price. It was a great break from the traditional wedding catering. We cannot thank Ari and Team enough for making our wedding unforgettable.
Matthew Kamper: Great falafel and chicken shawarma! Fries were really great as well! Reminded me of my time in the west bank!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Side of French Fries, Falafel, Hummus and Pita …More
Donna Church: Love their lentil soup.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Baklava - Walnut, Hummus and Pita …More
Usman Zia: We have been dining here for the last 13 years, but after Covid, their price has gone up (understandable) and the portion size drastically reduced. Unfortunate, we will not be coming here next time.
Karsten H Kessler: Atmosphere is in keeping with any middle eastern fast food establishment. The quality of the food is excellent. Especially the freshly done fruit and vegetable juices. The carrot smoothie is definitely a winner.Vegetarian choices such as Falafel are available and better than average.Parking is a bit ridiculous, but that just the location, not their fault.Parking: Find your parking on a side streetWheelchair accessibility: Front door is pretty old style but otherwise not much hindrance to get in.
