Urban Matter: what do users think?
Suzanne Chisum: A great store for exploring! Jewelry, incense, socks, journals, everything a girl could want. Great place to pick up a gift for someone special.
Amanda: Racist. The older woman that works there (on the women and children’s side) followed me and my boyfriend and our child around the entire store. Literally. Once we went to check out and leave, she came up to us as we were leaving and asked where a book was that we’d been carrying around. She asked me to show her where it was set down and said “do you know where it was left?” I had set it down RIGHT where we picked it up from initially. I pointed it to her and we left. I knew she thought we were stealing from the start when she followed us around the entire store.
Mary Baker: Beautiful fun sustainable products
Stephanie Schatz: Whenever I need a gift for someone and I'm not sure what exactly to get, I come here. They have such a wide variety of unique things here. They literally have something for everyone. Every time I come here, I have to stop myself from buying everything in the store! The staff is super friendly and helpful as well.
Dennis Cortés: Lovely store with amazing, unique items. Spent an hour just browsing and trying to decide what to get with all the cool stuff!
Mary Dang: Wonderful boutique with lots of Midwestern crafters/makers. The associates are always willing to help, offering to hold the items you've already picked out at the desk, and can offer suggestions for gifts. They have a great selection of items just about for everyone. Stock include leather goods, greeting cards, home decor, candles, and more.
Renee: This place is so cute! They have so much good stuff - candles, books, notebooks, incense, lots of local goods… it’a great! I found my favorite notebook here and if you like paper as much as I do, you know what a great feeling that is!! 😅
Jesse Brunes: Staff was incredible, awesome selection of items. Also, Mz. Pickles is the goodest dog this side of St. Louis.
Jon Sorak: Fun store! Great people!
Casey Love: My favorite shop in town!
Wilson Joe: Excellent place to buy a lovely print of a beautiful woman and blow someone's mind with it.
Mike Dewes: Lovely selection of cool stuff!
corey jedi: Real pricey for handmade stuff I don't want or need... now with more space!
Brandon Hentze: You will always find something new an unique in Urban Matter (make sure to check out both storefronts!). It's great for gifts or just to treat yourself. Their kitchen supplies are top tier and many are unique, and there are plenty of little toches too add some character to every home!
Jerry Campbell: Everything is tasteful, artful and reasonably priced. I have done 30% of my Christmas shopping here. A joy.
R Cusick: I am so in love with this store. Only the fact that I had my hands full with bags from Jay International kept me from breaking the bank once again. Lots of sassy gifts, conversation pieces for the home, meaningful collectibles, etc. I always see items I would have never thought of--this time, a personal popcorn popper for the microwave, so you never have to buy microwave popcorn bags again. The staff is friendly but they don't bother you, only stepping in if you have questions.
Patrick Kohm: Bellisimo!
Robert Cole: If you want to buy really neat stuff and look around and think "my life will never be this put together or neat" boy, is this the place for you. They have local products, the staff is helpful and hasn't had the light drained from their eyes yet. They may actually believe in what they're doing. Love it. Wish I could afford the furniture! (Back to IKEA I go)
Danielle Cozzola: A cute little store that was fun to browse. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the items seems to be good.
kelly Wetherhote: Ok folks if you have or haven't been to some great pdx shops it's comparable. Handcrafted/fun/unique/fabulous.A must go to! Best independent shop in stl.I'm local and love this place.
Dona Fry: Sadly it wasn't open...maybe next trip.

Lauren Collins: The Spotted Pig is daydream-inducing. I'm looking back through my camera roll "Wishlist" I created after a recent visit. Whether you're looking for a gift for your best friend, your boss, your wedding planner (Mom), yourself or a stranger you'd like to make very happy, this place has it. I'd compare it to finding the "perfect gift", 1000 times. Kristin has done the research and the traveling with her passion for all things, classy, unique, quirky, charming, funky and beautiful and curated the most perfect selection and space I've ever stepped foot it. She also offers custom furniture, designed by her, built by a local woodworker, with the final touches up to YOU. The sample pieces are already on display for you to see firsthand. Lastly, The Spotted Pig is AFFORDABLE. Need I say more?
Mary Korner: I love this shop. This is my new go to St. Louis store for unique gifts and home goods. The made to order furniture is awesome. I bought several Christmas presents for all ages including earrings, bracelets, blanket scarves, ornaments, pillows, and throws.
