Aaron Zide: The 5 course tasting menu is way overpriced for what you get out of it. We were not impressed and we tried to like it.
Rochelle Thompson: This was my first time here and the experience was absolutely amazing. I love her personable and knowledgeable the staff was and they had great recommendations because when I go out to eat I like to try and explore what the staff favorite dishes are and each recommendation was on point. Almost definitely will be back!Vegetarian options: My friend who took me as a vegetarian and he had plenty of items for her to choose from They were just as unique as the meat optionsDietary restrictions: Even the dishes that did have meat options they accommodated her by putting it on the side so I can eat it 🤣
Jon Scott: I will come back many times.. The service , the food, the ambiance, all of it was great... and I mean great. Pricey but worth the experience.
Oz Ragland: Peak dining experience at a premium price. I spent a lot more than I expected and got truly superior food and wine pairings in an elegant space. The waiter was perfect as well.Parking: There is a paid lot right across the small street, but the entrance is around the block.
James Silberzweig: Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere. Appropriately priced. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Beignets Dietary restrictions accommodated None of the above …More
Sara Keller: We did the 10 course tasting, which was great. It felt like the chef cared about the food he was putting out. The presentation was spot on. Next time, I think I would just do the 5 course tasting. It was just so much food with the 10 that I couldn't finish everything. Our server was very attentive and explained each course and the wine that was paired with it. 5 🌟

Michael Clark: Wonderful upscale cocktail. The bartender/mixologist obviously was passionate, skilled, and knowledgeable. Cocktail preferences are so subjective I will let the reader choose for themselves. They all slap.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Mike Akerly: Completely empty when I arrived, I intended to grab a seat at the bar for dinner and some wine. Not exactly the type of environment one would enjoy a solo dinner in. The host stopped me to gather all of my contact info. I told him I wasn't interested in receiving marketing and he told me "it's required for Covid contact tracing." this was in March of 2023. Consider whether you'll support this type of behavior before joining them.
Viv C: Ryan was our waiter. Friendly and informative the entire time. Margot helped out here and there and suggested great drink like the “Way too sexy”. Good delicious. Drinks amazing. We really loved everything we ate. When I’m back in town, I will visit again.Recommended dishes Beignets …More
Gabriel Rice: Incredible culinary experience. The bluefin carpaccio is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Do the chef’s tasting menu with the wine pairing….you won’t regret it.
myname1975able: Food is severely underwhelming for the price point. Drinks were creative and nicely balanced. Great for happy hour but select another place to dine.Food: 2/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
katie krus: Very disappointing for the amount of money we spent. I am all for spending money on great food but this did not live up to expectations. When we walked in for a 6:00 reservation, there were only 2 other tables full which was a bit alarming to start. We did the 5 course meals and my husband and I each tried different dishes. The menu had great potential but total lack of execution by the kitchen. The drinks had fun names and were presented beautifully with good flavor. The crab croquette was my favorite dish of the whole meal - delicious with the squid ink, however, my husband thought it was a bit too salty. The shaved Foie Gras was pretty good but had a very strange texture with the beets and did not have a good presentation. Kind of looked like slop. The French onion soup was good. The Bibb lettuce salad was below average. I make better salads on a whim at home. Absolutely nothing special about it. Bluefin Carpaccio was supposed to be an uncommon dish so that is why I chose it. It had a very fishy taste and smell, almost looked grey on the dish and had poor presentation. It was my least favorite dish. The waiter told us “the Buttermilk Fried Poussin is the best fried chicken you will ever eat” and also made sure to reiterate it was not pigeon which we found strange. (Of course it’s chicken!). It was decent but nothing near the best fried chicken I’ve ever had and it was difficult to get off the bone - not a ton of meat. My husband ordered the elk chop medium rare and it came out well done and honestly looked pathetic. It looked like a shriveled up piece of meat. Lastly, for dessert I had the beignets. They tasted burnt/over fried and lacked depth in flavor. Very disappointing overall after having this place on my “go to” list for years.

Sidney Street Cafe: what do users think?
Buddy Benge: The menu was subpar. The appetizers was great but I could not in good conscious recommend anything. I always recommendEd this restaurant precovid. I cannot recommend that anybody eat here period. You can get better in St. Louis from a thousand restaurants here. Do not spend your money here.Food: 2/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Beef Tartare …More
KB Raif MD: Great restaurant. Nice service and mellow ambience. Food is wonderful. Nice place for a quite enjoyable dinnerRecommended dishes Hamachi Tuna Crudo, Beignets …More
The True Creed: I know it's such a generic thing but I went in there not expecting a fancy restaurant and ended up ordering a burger 😅. The wait staff were wonderful and the food was absolutely amazing. My girlfriend had the halibut and she really liked it. I personally recommend the lobster turnovers, the texture and flavors were just wonderful. The first time I've ever enjoyed a fancy restaurant! Had a wonderful time!
Patriotic Wolf: We had not been to Sidney Street in about 8 years and wanted to try it again for my birthday. With all the amazing reviews, we thought it still had it. Unfortunately the dinner fell short of our expectations. We were sat immediately, a lot of open tables for a Friday night but beautiful building and cool atmosphere. We had our waitress go over the appetizers and drink list with us. The cocktail list was underwhelming, wine list was fairly decent and we opted for a bottle of Pinot noir. We then ordered the lobster turnovers and veal dumplings, both which were favorites of mine years ago. Those both were delicious! Our salads were light and refreshing, my husband got a Caesar and he enjoyed it although said it was almost too rich. The beignets were spot on and delicious as usual. Now the entrees… two of us ordered ribeyes. They are big steak eaters so when a steak comes out with a gravy sauce on top of it, they were extremely disappointed. The other fact that it’s not listed as being served with gravy sauce on the menu is extremely misleading. They definitely would’ve asked for it dry or picked a different item. The unfortunately both had about 3 bites and were done.We also got the halibut and beef tenderloin with lobster. Both were well cooked, however the halibut was the tiniest piece of fish I’ve ever seen. I had halibut at another restaurant last week and it was was probably 4 times the size. We also got the rigatoni as a side and it was so Smokey flavored that we could barely eat it. Just pure smoke flavor which we like but it was overpowering. The cauliflower side was inedible to us. It was not cooked enough and the romesco sauce was not great.I really had high hopes for Sidney street for how it use to be about 10 years ago. Unfortunately our dinner was disappointing and we won’t be going back.
Alix Goulden: The veal dumplings may be the best dish in St. Louis. Reasonably priced for phenomenal food & service.Recommended dishes Beignets, Veal Dumplings …More

Colleen Piel: I miss the food from the "old" Sidney Street. Service and atmosphere were excellent, but the best things on the menu are the original items. The lobster turnovers and beignets are wonderful. I wish they would have kept the wasabi filet in its original form. I do not advise ordering the deconstructed carrot cake.Food: 2/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Beignets …More

Jack Reacher: This was a fantastic and delicious dinner! The ambience was amazing which set the mood for an amazing evening. I give the place 5 stars for service, 5 stars for atmosphere, and 5 stars for food quality and taste. The bread (brioche) was delicious, melted in your mouth. For starters we had the lobster turnovers absolutely amazing. When they offer you the opportunity to add a fourth one to the order, I would do it or you will be fighting over the last one. I had the 8oz beef tenderloin, it was cooked perfectly and the quality of the meat was excellent. Desert was awesome and topped off a perfect dinner. My hat off to the staff and owner for a great experience.
