L B: Revisited this place after years away since we don't live nearby anymore. Pretty much the same, typical heavy American food. Great breakfast for those that love a heavy breakfast. My husband loves it! As a vegan myself, there was absolutely nothing on the menu for me, not even soy or almond milk! I got toast with jam and coffee. Definitely a throw back in time, not keeping up with the times and changes in dietary preferences, especially in a trendy city area. But still packs in the standard midwest eater.Vegetarian options: Forget vegetarian options here.
Braden West: Classic diner experience. Affordable price

Patrick Dieter: The best grits in the Midwest! My favorite brunch spot in STL with a diverse menu that can satisfy all eaters. The poached eggs are phenomenal. Also a great staff, the owner and GM are very personable, and the bartender and waitress never have a drink empty. Food always comes fast! I prefer the Gravois vibe to midtown.
Turd Sammich: This is my favorite breakfast place of all time. I'd eat here everyday if I could. So effing good. Friendly staff too. Clean environment.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Cornbread Benedict …More
Daniel Kiwacka: Service was stellar and food was phenomenal. Had the Carne asada Mexican slinger that was recommended to me and they were phenomenal. Also got a Paloma and it was refreshing and delicious.
Rhonda Cammann: They give small portions for the price you pay, but the food was excellent.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Breakfast Tostada …More
Yolanda Mcgill: I’m sitting here on Mother’s Day’s (with my daughter who brought me here) and my waiter never got my order right, and my breakfast was served separately because he didn’t remember what I ordered… I’ve already eaten my breakfast and now comes my French toast which is the second item that was forgotten… maybe he should have had a note pad!!! Food tastes ok.Parking: Pretty convenient parking easily accessible
Beau boy: Excellent breakfast spot on Gravois!!! El Ranchero was awesome! My companion said the best omelet she's ever had! Great fresh vegetables and flavorful delicious well cooked beans. Highly recommended!!!
Oniel Polanco: Is a bid expensive . Good flavor. Although. The shashuka was. More like a soup of veggies. Thou … something changed there
Nicole M: throughly enjoyed our meal here. the food was tasty, staff was nice, and the environment was very cute. would love to come back again.
William Hopper: Busy place, but not so busy that there was a long wait. Wait staff was very pleasant. The presentation of the food matched its flavor which was amazing. Definitely would recommend this place!
Michael Moussa: Food was alright but wasn’t worth the 1.) wait 2.) the price 3.) The serviceThe waitlist system is archaic. No phone number writing or online resy/texting system. Me and 20 others huddled shoulder to shoulder in the small front room waiting for our names to be called. The server forgot our coffee and water 3 times then made weird jokes.Wait for food was ~45 min. I’d give the smoked pork belly Benedict an 6/10. The pork belly itself was good but the rest of the dish didn’t have much flavor. The Chakchouka is unique and an 8/10.Was super excited to try this place from all the recommendations and I really wanted to like it.
lafayettecatering: 16.00 for Cornbread and Gravy!!!
Ray Hendershot: Another great meal here but I do have to say the pricing has increased making it a little hard to stomach.Mimosa, French Toast, and Bacon was $38 with tip.Eggs gonna have to be more of a treat brunch instead of a regular occurrence. On the flip side the staff is really quick and friendly. The food is wonderful quality and bursts with flavor.
Kasey Miller: They have a small menu but what I had was very good! It's pretty tightly packed in there and our waiter didn't really say much.Food: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Smoked Pork Belly Benedict …More
Keletso Thaga: Beautiful spot inside a remodeled historic building. Great breakfast and lunch choices. I ordered Chackchouka. Filled me upParking: Plenty of parking next to Studio and Street ParkingWheelchair accessibility: Small Elevator
Brooke Mollison: My fiancé and I went here for my birthday. We chose this place because of the menu and it was open on a Tuesday morning with alcoholic drinks (birthday celebration). Such a cute place! And the food was amazing! As well as the staff! I had the breakfast tacos and my fiancé had the El americano meal. Everything was delicious!!! Will definitely be back!
Daniel H: I'm leaving a review so that when they eventually find out that there are some incredibly addictive substance inside of those pancakes that I can say I called it.There were five people at my table, we each ordered something different, and we all tried everybody's dishes. Everything was amazing. It doesn't make sense. It was so good.
Dorothy Widelka: My family and I were visiting from out of town and were excited to try out this breakfast restaurant based on all the positive reviews we read. We felt extremely misled and would not recommend eating here. My group of 4 was seated at a table that only had 3 chairs, and the server walked away without even getting another chair. We had come in about 20 minutes after they opened, so it was not too busy within the restaurant.Groups that came in after us were able to order their food before us, receive their food before us, and pay before we were even given our food. We waited over 45 minutes for our food and we had to chase down our server to ask him how much longer until our food would be ready. When we finally received our food, it was cold, the French toast was soggy, and the breakfast tostada was dripping in oil. We would have asked the server and tried to get our food situation worked out, but we could never find our server until it was time to hand us the check. He dropped off the check in a hurry and quickly without ever asking how our food was, if we wanted the bill to he split, or if we wanted any refills on our coffee or waters. Overall, our food was cold, bland, and far too expensive for the small portions. I had high hopes for the eggs, given the name of the restaurant, but I have honestly made better poached eggs at home. It was extremely disappointing and not worth all the money that we spent. :(

veronica king: The Manager this Saturday afternoon just cursed me out. Unacceptable behavior.
Jamie Haruska: Brunch was amazing! There were multiple vegan and vegetarian options, as well as traditional meat choices. The food came out quickly, the vibe was on point, and the staff were friendly. We got the veggie scramble, goat cheese/ mushroom crepe and a half order of the vegetarian biscuits and gravy. All was reasonably priced. We didn’t have cocktails but they looked amazing.
Jafer Abbas: Waited 10 minutes at entrance was never seated. Went across the street to Sen Thai 10/10 better experience.
P L M: Food: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
Quirin Rall: Nice place to have breakfast. Good selection of food, perfect quality and a good price. You are sitting in a loft style designed hall, which makes it a bit noisy - so getting there well rested is better. I love the coloring and funny paintings - it must have been pro designing that restaurant. Service is Standard, nothing to remember.
Logan Wertin: I absolutely love the food here. The pancakes are huge and the drinks are delicious. The service is mostly good, but I'm more focused on the food at a place like this.
Ben Pavlovits: If you know anything about cooking, you're not going to like this place. Eggs are simultaneously dripping with oil AND overcooked. The avocados were hard/inedible. And in my veggie omelet, I recognized random bits of other misc. omelets, like chorizo and bacon-- which isn't gross by itself, it's just indicative of the fact that they don't clean their pans. This is all made worse by the fact that a tea bag costs $5. For those that don't drink tea: EXPENSIVE tea is like .50c a bag at the grocery store. Everything here is of the lowest possible quality with some of the highest prices in town.
Johnbosco Okpala: Nice brunch selectionFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Arthur Greenup II: We had one of the best breakfasts in St. Louis. Their omelets are to die for. The staff was helpful, our server Danny really made the experience here even better. Happy and joyful. Get up. Go there. Eat good.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Waifu._. Material: The crepes are very rubbery 🙄
Peter Jackson: Good standard American breakfast place. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy. If you ask for scrambled eggs, they will come runny even when you ask for them hard or well done. I have sent them back every time to be cooked more. Fresh grapefruit and orange juice, wonderful.
Linda Sherwood: The worst biscuits and gravy I have ever had!!Extremely odd flavor. Biscuits were hard!I was really looking forward to a great breakfast and was extremely disappointed!!On the plus side, our waitress was really good and took care of our unhappiness with our food.
Ryan Leigh Runyon: With a high ceiling, cheerful yellow seating, graffiti-type chicken art, and egg-shaped globes on the lights, Rooster has a relaxed atmosphere from the moment you walk in. There's a huge u-shaped community table that was surely a bar in a previous life, along with tables and booths. We've noticed that some restaurants here provide glasses and a carafe of water at every table (or every two chairs along a community table), which is especially nice while you're waiting for a server just after being seated. We had breakfast/brunch here two days in a row - it was that good! Between the two of us, we had the biscuit and gravy, the stuffed French toast (the thickest I've ever seen), and we shared the scramble with bacon, goat cheese, arugula, etc. both days. The scramble is, without a doubt, something we will try to replicate at home.
Debbie Einsteder: Food was ok.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
EVE Mc Donald: Loud food was just ok..Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Kelsey Jo: Food was pretty good, but service was severely lacking and it was extremely overpriced . I definitely don’t recommend going on a busy day like I made the mistake of doing.
Amnon Nachshon: Thank god the food was good because the rest was ok. They only open at 8am so there was a long line outside and I can’t imagine the pressure in the kitchen. Maybe that is why the food took so long to arrive.
Emily Scott: Overpriced mediocre crepes

Wind Napol: We stopped by for early Sunday breakfast. With 6 people, we got strayed right away. Staff were nice. Our server Brittany was a rockstar. She’s very friendly and helpful. James Netusil: First, the service was very good. The place is nice. We sat on the patio. Dog friendly. Lovely. But the food was not good. I ordered the country fried steak breakfast. For $16 it was the smallest CFS I have ever seen. And just a little dollop of sausage gravy. The flavor was good, but the meat didn’t appear to be steak. I think it was a hamburger. The menu stated 5oz. As a chef I know my protein weights by sight. This MAY have been 3 ounces at most. Look at the photo! Truly disappointing. My partner ordered the avocado toast ($14). It was whole grain bread with the thinnest layer of mashed avocado, a drizzle of balsamic, and scrambled eggs. If you’re going to call it “avocado toast” you better put enough avocado to taste it. Again, truly disappointing. For the prices you should be full when you leave. Nope. Not even close. Won’t be back.

Lynne Hart: When I asked to know what was in the quinoa pancakes they would only tell me that it was gluten-free and kept repeating that and telling me that I couldn't have the recipe. I wasn't asking for the recipe I was asking for ingredients so that I know what I'm eating. But apparently the kingside diner doesn't know or respect that people have food intolerances and dietary needs. I ate them anyway and they weren't really worth it, they were okay at best, a vessel for butter and syrup. The patio is a pleasant place and they open early so it's a great place to have breakfast, hopefully this one experience isn't always their reaction to being asked what ingredients are in a certain dish.

Daniel N: Had cheesy biscuits and gravy, added hash browns. Had French toast. Drank coffee and cranberry mimosa. Quick and friendly service, food was prepared well. I wish hash browns were a bit crispier. Everything else was good. Wish biscuits had been split open-the gravy wasn’t my favorite but I can’t say it was bad..just not for me. Would visit again and try some other things.

The service was a little slow, but the restaurant was bustling and not enough servers. (There was a help wanted sign out front.) Once our server arrived she was so much much fun to talk to. I had Blueberry Pancakes with no sides or meat and I did not need it after eating 3 pancakes swimming in blueberry compote and butter. My friend had the short stack and bacon and reported that the bacon was very good. This is a must when visiting St Louis.

Boardwalk Waffles & Ice Cream: what do users think?
David McArthur: Took grandkids last weekendNo moreSwitched brands Now it’s a gooey gummy expensive blobScrewed up a good thing and price didn’t drop
Naresh Kumar: My favorite place for ice cream. Delicious waffles with amazing flavors of ice cream. Two scoops on a cone is a great value for money. Perfect place to hang with friends during summer after a long run!
Anthony Winebarger: Waffle Nachos! Hat a great tasting flavor I didn't know I can't live without
SuperFlawless9: Amazing staff, quality ice cream with lots of different flavors, and amazing made to order waffles! What's not to love? Bonus points for the restaurant's aesthetic!
Steve S.: Great place for waffles and ice cream
Tarah Huberty: Cockroach crawling on the check out counter. Noticed after we payed, immediately threw our cones away and left 🤢
Jessica Fleischmann (Jessntest): The ice cream is wonderful and the waffles are so fluffy and yummy. They are a winning combo. The blueberry pie ice cream with the waffle tastes like the best blueberry waffles you've ever had. The person who served us was super accommodating and made the experience just that much better. Worth stopping for.
Keo Ode: So yummy and people are so kind! Has the most wonderful live music and on Sundays they have karaoke!! The people there were so supportive and fun last time I went 😁
Noelle Burns (Noelle): Amazing place! Waffle was super good and wasn't dry at all! Plenty of flavors of icecream including CBD ice cream. It was super good, and staff was extremely friendly.
Jackie Ferry: Yummy fresh waffles made to order plus super awesome ice cream.
Katie S: The employee acted like it was a huge inconvenience to refund my money and refused to do it. What awful customer service.
Crystal Watson: Great service, great ice cream. However, the owner's in debt and may lose the place.
S: Love the ice cream! People commenting about the tipping screen are awful. Adding a couple bucks to your tab won’t kill you. Get over it. And if it does effect you, you shouldn’t be going out to eat waffles and ice cream— make it at home :) As someone who works in the service industry, I always appreciate those who tip on to gos/pickups. Clean environment, very cute.
Mike S: It's very good, though it's kind of hard to screw up ice cream and homemade waffles.Like most trendy dessert shops, the pricing is steep, made worse by signage in the past that has indicated it's even higher than what's displayed, which felt like a bit of a bait and switch. (The menus are on TVs, how hard could they be to update?) They have a small stage for musicians as well, which can be a little too loud in such a small space. However, as long as you check the pricing and can take your dessert to-go, it's worth a stop.
Ashley: This place is awesome but they never open when they say they are. They don’t follow the times on their door and honestly it’s frustrating. They do whatever they want I guess. But the ice cream is really good I’m talking about the one located in soulard
Neil McCloskey: Great customer service from the Wacho Man!!! Seriously, try their Wachos, you'll love it!!
Daniela Strother: Delicious!!!!! The portions are generous and just to die for! I had a half waffle with two flavors of ice cream. It was so good!
Kyle Brown: Good ice cream, friendly staff. Will come again!
Carrie James: We got the 1/2 waffle with Black Walnut ice cream and the 1/2 waffle with Chocolate chip. The waffles were fantastic and the ice cream was incredibly smooth. Staff was very friendly!Thank you for a great experience!
Carrie Skaggs: We got the 1/2 waffle with Black Walnut ice cream and the 1/2 waffle with Chocolate chip. The waffles were fantastic and the ice cream was incredibly smooth. Staff was very friendly!Thank you for a great experience!
Favored&Free: Ice cream and waffles were incredible! It's upsetting that they refuse to hand out cups of water though. For such a sweet dish you need water with it. All they had was Fiji bottles of water for sale. For a $15 ice cream I expected a free glass of water when I asked for it. Very disappointing they won't supply guests with a dixie cup and some tap water even. To me that's poor customer service and ruined the experience.

Khalidah Yancey: This has snuck and become my favorite restaurant. I come alone or I come with friends and either way I enjoy myself the same. It's relaxing laid back good music. Idk what it is about having chicken and waffles but I can't seem to get anything else! I'm completely hooked and I end up here almost every week. I can't say I ever take the time to write reviews. But today's meal was so tasty and at the right time too... I ordered over the phone but once I got there it was just me and the young staff- and unknown Freddie- of course! I was handed my food all bagged and prepared to go. But I just had to sit and jam the music was good and my phone had rang (but it was a scam caller) so, I made myself comfortable and enjoyed my meal phone silenced. I must say I felt so at peace devouring my food while the staff just vibes it was like being home with cousins over lol! I'm stuffed and happy.. hell I'm still parked outside! 🤣🤣

Patrick O'Irishman: Excellent! Had Brunch at Freddie Gs this afternoon. Ordered Chicken & Waffles. Chicken breast was cooked to savory perfection. Not under or over cooked, just perfect. Waffle was fresh, light, fluffy, and tasty. Wings were delicious as well. Great service, friendly employees. I will be back.

All That Jazz: I try to support black business but they be dropping the ball… this used to be one of my fav spots but many things have changed. The taste of the food was ehhh. Chicken was pretty bland and the shrimp and grits as well. I’m so disappointed. We waited almost an hour to get our food. Got so full off my drink didn’t even want the food when it came out and then it wasn’t to satisfaction… won’t be back and made that very clear to management. Many improvements needed.
Rachel Westfall: Didn't have mimosas this time nor did they have steak. Food took forever to come to our table. Was NOT like my first visit here. Food was great. Menu was very limited this time. Disappointed.Food: 5/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More

Wanda Starr-Ferguson: Food was good. Wait was not. Chicken and waffles. Owners are nice. Waited over an hour for order. My 4 friends and I supported this black owned business. Visited on a Saturday, it wasn't busy, only four people 2 already eating. We ordered and waited over an hour for our food. No napkins or silverware given. Although we ate in, we were given plastic utensils. Seemed understaffed and not prepared...
demario helm: No service or servers waited 40 minutes and no one attended my table or even offered if we wanted anything to drink. Never got served seated out self and there was only one worker. He had to serve, take orders and cook

BLT's - Breakfast, Lunch and Tacos: what do users think?
Shainel McClenton: I came here looking for a new experience other than first watch hand the food was okay but the mimosas had something in it and it came out the pitcher of mimosas and the manager offered us mimosa’s to go instead of trying to refund us our money I didn’t want it to go I wanted my money back for it and he was definitely an a hole about it
Alicia Thompson: Everything was superb...except for the drinks waitress who wore these super tight and super short shorts...no one should have to look at that when they're eating...other than that, I had the Sammy and my friend had a variety of tacos...all very, very good...be prepared to wait in a looooong line, but it's worth it...will definitely be going again and again...

Erica Williams: Came on a Sunday, service all around was very good. Shannon the server and J the cashier are top notch. It’s not a “fine dining” restaurant but these two definitely gave a fine dining experience. The owner seemed just ok, only because I felt more comfortable addressing the issues I had with J and Shannon. I felt like the owner wouldn’t “hear” me but his employees certainly did and I appreciate that. The drinks and service will make me a repeat customer. The food is lackluster, at best.Kid-friendliness: Kids running all aroundParking: Street parking
Dorian Smith: Addictive place❤️
Troy Coston: If you are a local or guest in the city, this has to be a stop. Breakfast is very good.

Erin Ficca: The food was great-- loved the building and the staff was extremely nice and helpful!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
JK Mama: We loved this place! It was our first time there. Love the way it all worked, by getting a menu & choosing your food in the little lounge-y area, placing your order at the bar, getting your number & wait for your food. Beverage stations, including fruit-infused water. Didn't wait long for our food, which was stellar, friendly service & top-notch atmosphere. The music was even perfect for the environment. I just wish I didn't live 4 hours away- I'd be there every week.
Jolleen Wagner: Yum! Full stop.
Courtney Marsh: We will DEFINITELY be back! The vibe of the place was super cool and the food was delicious!
Christopher Powell: Good food and experience. Depending on the amount of ppl, you may have to wait but overall goodFood: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Sherrita “Sweetritaful” Sweet: Went to find a late breakfast in downtown ST. LOUIS and found this place on Google. The ambiance is industrial but with the big windows they’re let in so much light. It has comfortable couches and spacious table areas for small and big groups or if you’re by yourself wanting to get some work done. The food was amazing! It has a beautiful full bar with coffee drinks and almost any drink you can think of. The wait staff was amazing and so welcoming. The food again AMAZING, I had the farmers breakfast and it is so filling I had to take a to go box. The manager was so welcoming.Hitting this place up next time I’m in town!

Chris' @ The Docket: what do users think?
Mike Romeo: Was there on memorial day for breakfast - one of the few open places in downtown for breakfast. Was alone and assigned a place at the bar. Service was quick and friendly. The place is run professionally and efficient - a lot of food comes out of the kitchen.Menu is rather small and for breakfast offers typical American choices - not too ambitious...missing healthy and fresh options - also missing clear labeling regarding vegetarian/ vegan food options. Coffee was free refill.Would go there again and would recommend the place to any party looking for a conventional American breakfast. No place for adventure-seeking foodies.
JD Pearson: I enjoy the breakfast all the timeRecommended dishes Belgian Waffle …More
Cody Cummings: Let me start by saying that Chris’ is great option for diner style menu items if you’re in the downtown area, and don’t mind a short walk to eat there. They are also big on mimosas with 9 different kinds on the menu, so it’s great if you’re grabbing brunch with friends.I tried the Chris’andwich, a highly customizable breakfast sandwich that reminds me of a sausage egg and cheese croissandwhich from BK, but actually good.I also tried the Cali Eggs Benedict and the poached eggs were cooked pretty close to perfect. The hollandaise sauce was a little on the salty side, but overall it was pretty good. The smoked chicken grits were heavy and tasty, but it’s a big portion, so make sure you save room.Overall it was an inexpensive meal that was fast, filling and well made. Definitely worth stopping by for a Sunday breakfast or during the week for a quick lunch.
Meredith McAdam: Excellent brunch and friendly staff! It was great!
Lachrista Derington: A friend and I always make sure we visit when she's in town! We love this place!Parking: No much so good luck!

Dana Herbst: Last week we came down town for breakfast and a trip to IKEA, ended up in a finder bender on Grand and we asked the responding officer who had the best breakfast in the area and this place was his response. The atmosphere is nice, staff wasn't overly friendly, but not unfriendly either.Food however was great. I had the summer omelete with hash and French toast. The amount of cheese to ingredient ratio was perfect in the omelete, hashbrowns are decent, however toast wasn't really toasted. French toast was tasty, didn't finish it, but took it home and did later (I never eat my leftovers)The big guy had a country omelete and the kiddo cheesy eggs, bacon, and cakes. Strawberry lemonade was good, but not the best I've ever had.Would definitely come again. Limited lunch menu.
Cade Long: Excellent costs. The atmosphere and service was amazing and friendly and just felt like Saint Louis. The only recommendation I have is more vegetarian and vegan options. Aside from that, excellent choice for breakfast.Recommended dishes Short Stack Pancakes, Mediterranean …More
Troy Harris: Little bit of a wait to get in, I usually won't wait for food. I'm glad I took a chance and stuck around. Delicious food, generous portions, great service and an early bar make this place worth waiting for. Next time I'm in town I'll eat here again.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Neil Jones: Amazing Bloody Mary Mix. Tasty breakfast fried rice. I don’t know what they do to it but it is great and when you put the chili sauce on it, it brings it to another level. The wait staff is great, too. (Brenda)
