Alex Haarman: We had lunch today at tin roof and our waitress myah was phenomenal!! She was on top of her game and gave great recommendations on what to eat. We had the loaded tots and sloppy nachos which were fire🤤🤤 myah even sat down with us and helped us finish our food! She was very friendly and definitely made us feel at home. Brandon Ballard: Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Country music live inside, band was rough though. And it was hot. Patio was where it was at. Bartenders were busy and sometimes neglected outside bar in favor of the dance room. There was a dj spinning. We had a blast. Interesting building layout. Parking was not easy on a Saturday night.

Gary N: Very disappointed. I found this place while exploring the area around the Cardinals Stadium. I walked in, two of the three employees on the floor looked at me, no greeting, and no direction on where to go/sit. So, I elected to sit at the empty bar. I sat there for at least 10 minutes before I was acknowledged. In fact, a person they clearly knew walked up, stood next to me, and they took his order before mine after I’d been sitting there for at least 8 minutes at this point.Finally, one of the two bartenders asked me what I wanted. “An old fashioned, please.” The bar tender returned and said he made it with love and apologized for not having any oranges. No biggy. He actually made a decent drink.Only moments later, as my cup lay empty in plain view, I started at the three employees in hopes one would make eye contact with me. They stayed huddled together chit chatting on the back side of the bar. They stayed there for the duration of a Maroon 5 song that played on the radio. Girls Like You to be precise. I know because I lip synced it while waited to make eye contact so I could order another drink. The male bartender sat sipping his water while the female bartender attempted to discretely suck on her vape pen…Finally, she noticed me looking at her as she scanned the room to see if anyone caught her smoking whatever it was she was smoking… When she approached, she asked, “you all good, babe?” I replied, “Can I get one more and close out?” She said yes and the proceeded to make one of, if not the worst old fashioned I have ever had. I choaked it down, paid my $22 (for two drinks) tab and vowed to never return.Maybe I was treated poorly because of my Yankees hat or maybe the two girls working just don’t care about providing good customer service. The male bartender was fine, he gets the one star I’ve awarded this place. Without him it’d definitely have been a zero (if you could give zero stars).
Eli Quinn: They never answer the phone and when they do they’ll leave you on hold for at least 30 mins. The food is mid. The last time I order food I was missing a whole meal and they did nothing about it. The only good thing about this location are the waitresses. The ladies are so sweet- but everything else is not worth it.

Mechelle F: We went to celebrate my daughters birthday. She passed away in February. I emailed April and she immediately responded back and made the reservation for us. Staff was informed for the reasoning as to why we were coming and after we ate they brought out dessert on the house. Yesterday was such a hard day for me, but the staff here made it so much easier. The food was great. The atmosphere was great and I loved the staff.

Taylor King: A Historic blues venue with phenomenal live music featuring local and national acts playing in an intimate setting that makes you feel like your in a different era. Phenomenal views of the city on the balcony. Conveniently located next to Busch Stadium in the heart of the city. John May has worked hard over the years to make sure this place has been a home for musicians for decades and one of the the best places to catch music.

Charlotte Moore: I was at this venue last night. I bought VIP tickets for a table of 4. I even called prior to coming to confirm the time. I was there at 9pm and I did not get seated until 9:45pm. UNACCEPTABLE!! This venue books two different bands a night. They book the band that draws a black crowd for the later set, because they think it is okay to have black people waiting to get a VIP seat that they paid for. They would not dare have white people waiting for black people to get up and leave, for seats that they paid for. When I tried to complain they wanted to blame it on the band. However, this is your venue and you know exactly what you are doing. Giving black people poor service. Also, the drinks were very weak and not good. We sent them back and they were worst. We ordered food that arrived close to two hours later, which we declined. There is nothing here for black people at this venue. We can put our money in other venues. Pay attention black people.
Jamal Dunn: I decided to get this place a second chance tonight because the previous time I came the service was just simply horrible. Well… I went and ordered food for the second time, and after an hour of waiting,, I was told that they were out of basically everything that I ordered. I was offered a drink for my inconvenience.While the music is great, the service absolutely sucks. If you want to get a drink, you’re going to wait. If you want to get food, ur absolutely going to wait, and pray that they have any of the main items on the menu. I don’t know where things went left, but the staff must’ve changed over or something. This new group is absolutely horrible.I will not be returning to this place.

Cody Cummings: The Thaxton Speakeasy is a well kept secret of downtown St. Louis. Their cocktails are really well made and their beer selection is pretty good too. The bar staff is always a delight, and they add to the vibe of the whole experience. The Thaxton has a great mix of Art Deco and Art Nuevo décor that helps transport you back to the days of prohibition. Finding the speakeasy is the easy part, but you’ll need to snoop around on their social media to find out how to get the secret password of the week. This place makes for a great date night or a cool place to meet up with friends for a good cocktail.

Every party has their own assigned seats here, even the couples seated at the bar. No one was standing or interacting. I had a drink and left. It felt more like a table-service only, speakeasy/restaurant. The space was cool and has tons of potential, but the vibe was flat. Not ideal for solo patrons.
Peter Maliha: Beautiful hidden gem. Requires password for entry. The host is a peculiar guy who is initially intimidating but then you realize that he is appropriately in character for the place’s vibe and it becomes amusing. Drinks are great, music is on point, and decor is beautiful. Highly recommended.
Guy P: I think this place is permanently out of business. Went through the trouble of creating an Instagram account to get the password. Showed up at the alley entrance, rang the door bell. No response, the alley is totally dark, I've been to a lot of speakeasies, there is usually a light by the secret entrance, this place is totally dark. Very dangerous. Don't go.

However, it is first come, first served, so it's best to arrive early to ensure you get a seat. Ric Castillo: Stumbled across this well-appointed, hidden spot just before New Year's weekend and went a couple of times. Beautiful details convey the period well. Have your password ready and banter a little with the doorman. Once seated, walk up to the bar to order. First cocktail was obviously for the crowds, but talk to the clever and accommodating staff: they'll make you something more interesting. Don't like cocktails (...I mean, why?) - they even have Montucky!
Ryan Franks: We went to the Thaxton for a wedding. The place is beautiful, and the bar downstairs is amazing. The bar staff was knowledgable and the guys working that night were super helpful. Everyone had a great time.
