Comet Coffee: what do users think?
Natalie Henderson: Wonderful service, flavorful + balanced espresso, flaky + buttery pain au chocolate - just didn’t realize the seating would be a choice between a noisy indoor space or outdoor space right by the highway… we were kinda hoping for a restful morning with a book and while the coffee is excellent, this ain’t that.
Robert Mitchell: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
F B: Good location. Great coffee. Tasty pastries. Friendly staff. Nice space to enjoy it all. What more can you ask for from a coffee joint?
Nichole Sullivan: I love the croissants here, but the parking and entrance is a little difficult to navigate. However, pastry wise you almost can't go wrong. There is a specials menu with rotating items which I love to try new things from. It's worth the headache of the parking lot.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Chocolate Croissant Parking space Difficult to find parking Parking options Free parking lot …More
Scott Thompson: This is by far one of my favorite coffee joints in STL. The baristas are always on their game. Excellent choice of locally roasted beans. I'm not usually a big fan of pour overs - they are one of the few places I've been that nail them. But none of that is the purpose of this review. I'm here to talk about their beyond-phenomenal pistachio croissants. It's what you would get if a croissant hooked up with a piece of baklava. Truly delicious. I'm embarrassed my photo doesn't do it justice.
Courtney DesMarais: Great bear claws and chocolate croissant.Coffee is perfectly made every time! Some new items lately and they slap hard 🔥🔥Gotta try the twice baked croissant (drool)!!Lots of options for Vegetarian’s and anti-milkers too.Vegetarian options: Tons!Parking: Lots of on-street parking out front plus bike racksDietary restrictions: Gluten free options are amazing
Rachel S: Very popular and for good reason. They have a wide variety of coffee and tea drinks, plus pastries that are delicious. On the weekends be prepared to wait in line, but it moves quickly.Parking: If parking in front is full, there's a 2h visitor lot behind the building
Joel Bittle: Rivals any place in St. Louis for pastries.
Luke Quell: I had the best cup of coffee (Kenyan) I have ever had in my life here. I was told it was the best coffee in St. Louis (and it is) but it goes beyond that. The croissants are also great.
Conor Mack: Fantastic coffee, seating area is a little small.
Michael Coomes: Smaller coffee shop but feels like a gem in the area. Coffee and pastry were great and staff were polite.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jaime Martinez: This place is a must do if you are in the St. Louis area. I was in the St. Charles area but worth the drive. In my humble opinion, the best blueberry muffins I have ever tasted. Now, be sure to come early as those don't last very long as the supply is limited.Friendly staff and excellent coffee. At least both of the lattes I had were excellent (both hot and one decaffeinated and the other caffeinated).
Jon Brown: Had a patient bring me a croissant one morning from here. Omg it's as if I've never had a croissant before. It was amazing
Mitchell Koory: Good coffee with lots of options, and one of the best gluten-free cookies (made with almond flour) that I’ve ever had. Nice atmosphere too, will definitely return.
Robert Barnacle: This place is a great little coffee shop with some of the best croissants in st.louis.Food: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Nancy Pendleton: awesome coffee and croissant; great service!
GAY THOMAS: Food: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Muffin, Coffee and PastriesMore
Anna Wild: Best coffee in St Louis for sure. I typically order a pour-over and buy some nice beans to take home! It’s always been pretty busy when I’ve gone and they have limited seating, so I wouldn’t recommend this place for studying for long periods of time, but if you care about really good coffee, this is the place to go!!
20Drummajor: Pretty good food and coffees.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Eric Mishne: Great cappuccino! Nutty flavor to the espresso, on the strong side, but not as harsh and acidic as a cheap espresso like “SB.”A cappuccino is my go to drink for first visits to a coffee shop because it allows me to taste the espresso and see how they treat their milk. Comet nailed it.They were out of small cups but still put the proper amount of milk in the large cup. Some large chains that will not be named just top off the cup assuming that I would always just want a larger cup. Comet cares about the ratios. Well done folks.

Hartford Coffee Company: what do users think?
Jen Nadler: Drinks are very good, food is fresh with nice proportions, and service is consistent/reliable. I've lived around this area for a while but just recently have been using this place when I need to get away from my WFH. They are worker/meeting friendly and you can tell they are well loved by the neighborhood as so many people come in. This time I got a london fog and steel cut oats, and might grab something for lunch. I love that they have kids meals "for all ages" as sometimes I like a small portion.

Cameron Lewis: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The chai freeze is deliciously sweet with lots of flavor. The food is good straightforward, American fare. The vibe is relaxed, but by no means sleepy. It really is too bad that this was our last stop before heading home. I would have liked to have come here more often during our stay.Kid-friendliness: My wife and I were in St. Louis for our 2 year anniversary. We went out to eat a number of times, but this was the first place that seemed to have enough room for the two of us and our 8 week old in her car seat. There was even a changing station in the one person bathroom! It really is too bad that this was our last stop before heading home. I would have liked to have come here more often during our stay.

switching “visible swager” fishbites: Great coffeehouse all around, but I'd like to focus on their espresso. They are incredibly unique because of their espresso. If you're an espresso lover who struggles to find a coffee shop pulling espresso that's flavorful and interesting congratulations on your good fortune at finding Sump. If you find the idea of consuming a plain espresso shot gross than forget all you think you know about what espresso shots are supposed to taste like and give Sump a try. They always give you multiple options of different espresso beans to try, and regularly switch out these options. Oh btw try all their pastries, they're amazing too.
Yael Paley: Loved Sump! Have been hearing great things and finally checked them out. Friendly service, nice patio outdoor seating, and truly scrumptious caffeinated beverages!
Chris Luth: There is no shortage of top-notch third wave coffee shops in the St. Louis metro area, but this one tops them all. This is one of the best roasters in the Midwest, if not the country. I’ve only explored their house espresso blend, but it is absolutely amazing, with absolutely the perfect balance of acidity, fruitiness, and floral notes to drink on its own or to punch through a little bit of steamed milk. The drinks crafted at the coffee bar are incredible. Every shot I’ve ever had a barista pull here has been perfection, and the milk is always impeccably textured. I think this may very well be the best cortado on the planet. And while it is almost a travesty to cover up the flavor of the coffee with anything else, the specialty beverages are always interesting and worth a try.Always my go-to shop when I’m in STL—it’s hard to stop myself at three beverages here and not walk out with a suitcase full of beans!
Coffee And Smoke: First off,I understand that coffee is a wildly subjective topic and it can get very complex, with that said I was disappointed with me 2nd experience with buying Sump whole beans (melting darkness roast).I purchased these same beans about 2 yrs ago and liked them enough so I figured I'd try them again since I ran out of my usual beans plus I like to support local whenever able..This time around the beans seemed vastly different. The roast appeared much lighter than before, which I'm aware that Sump roasts on the lighter end of the spectrum so I wasn't expecting some charred Starbucks like roast, especially since I've purchased this same roast in the past. There was also a lot of chaff and drastic inconsistencies in the bean size and color.I have a relatively expensive and good quality home grinder (flat burr) and I maxed out the fineness on my grinder and it still wasn't fine enough to dial this bean in.I have a step less adjustment grinder and have never had this problem with any other bean before.I can't explain what the issue is this time..

I also got some tasty banana chocolate cookies, which come in a 4-pack.Love the vibe inside, and there’s plenty of seating outside at tables. Will definitely be back!Update 3/31/23:Still one of my favorites in Stl! Love the new Tagalong coffee. Sadly the Ethiopian beans I bought from here recently were too hard for my burr grinder and jammed it. Still love the coffee shop though!

Kayla Hipp: Chill vibe, delicious coffee and the breakfast sandwich was 10/10. Usually the breakfast sandwiches at coffee shop are prepackaged Starbucks quality—not the case here! The biscuit was amazing! The egg was fresh and perfectly seasoned! The savory jam tied the whole thing together! I’ll be dreaming about this coffee and sandwich combo until j can come back to St Louis.

John Dunstan: Cool outdoor space. Very good latte and danish.
Jeffrey Lowe: Everything about this place is terrible and it isn't worth a visit. For a place with a giant wall mural of "Control the Narrative," they sure were quick to treat me as less than and talk down to me. That is, when they bothered to acknowledge me at all after standing at the counter for 10 minures without so much as a look. Everybody in this shop was rude and couldn't be bothered with me today. Once they got my money, they were even ruder. If this is how you "Control the Narrative," then I don't want anything to do with you. Next week's episode of the STL Coffee Tour is going to be short! Don't go here. They're not worth the wait. (Edited spelling)
Kevin B: I stopped here for coffee and I have found a new happy place. Very cool setting to sit and get some work done and have great coffee. Service was friendly and prices were reasonable. I didn’t get a pastry this time but they looked delicious. Definitely headed back!!

Cami: There's better coffee shops for the money. I went for the first time today. Had no idea that they didn't like people standing near the counter to wait for their drink. One of the girls behind the counter very rudely told us to leave and wait for our order. We had no idea how we'd know our order was ready so just took a seat outside. They eventually called our order over the intercom. The drink was just okay there were grounds at the bottom. Less than average experience.
bronwyn miller: the coffee is excellent, but the food definitely leaves something to be desired (especially the egg wrap)
Nathan Flory: Their entry set up was a bit weird- sign said only one person at a time could be in the ordering area but the converted outside area was nice with heaters and benches----- strawberry latte was really good- they have a restroom in the back.

kayla muir: Great coffee, very friendly staff !
Perpetual Voyager: Went here four times while I was visiting for work. Baristas made delicious cortados. I tried a few other places and this was by far my favorite. It’s cool that this is a public gallery to check out work from local artists.
Elysa Doherty: Realllllly yummy toffee nut latte with good prices in my opinion!!
Aaron Heard: Great service and great coffee. For all the visiting Australians, this is the place to come for real coffee 🇦🇺
robert lewis: what a pleasant experience!Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jim Wallace: Good coffee bar owned by Art Saint Louis.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Leonard Trojan: Happen to visit St. Louis, and of course, did my research on the best coffee shops.. This spot didn't disappoint! The space is very artist and you're literally in an art gallery where they sell the coolest art and the coffee section is designated to support artists as a non-profit which is really cool.. very spacious and clean...Believe I dealt with Todd. He was the coolest guy ever! Explained my drink and to my surprise, he made it perfectly! He even poured my steamed almond milk in front of me to ensure the exact pour. The Cortado was so rich yet not bitter...20 yrs of drinking coffee and I honestly must say.. BEST COFFEE EVER compelling me to write a quick review...If you're in town for a ball game or any type of business, this is the perfect spot! A couple blocks away from everything in St. Louis! Thanks Todd!
Sherry Nelson Thomas: Recommended dishes Cookies and Cupcakes, Drip CoffeeMore
Cody Cummings: Catalyst is a gem! They have excellent pour overs and lattes, and some great snacks if you need to munch. It’s cozy atmosphere and the art gallery makes for a visually engaging place to sit or work while you have some wake-up juice. Their location is very walkable and I would recommend stopping by if you’re headed to the city museum or to the library.
Katrina Hunkapiller: Had the seasonal “chocolate covered cherries” coffee and it was phenomenal!! The barista was super friendly and had some awesome stories to share. All the sales support Art Saint Louis, so happy I stumbled across it
Robert Barnacle: Decent downtown option for coffee but the food is lacking. The options are typically vegan cookies and muffins with the occasional other baked goods. Good service, but can take a bit to get your coffee as they make not of it pretty fresh.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Fresh Brew, Pour Over …More
Scott Brown: Tasty cookies and super fine coffee
Rachel Thomason: Food: 1/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
John Litvin: Decent coffee storeFood: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Max Morrison: I travel all over the country for work. This is damn good coffee! Can't wait to try it again.
David Cropper: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Iced Latte, Drip Coffee, Pour OverMore
Arisha Parker: Is now one of my new favorite spots to come!
Dave Carron: Super friendly staff, good wifi, comfortable chairs, good coffee and lots of city parking right out front. Cool art expositions in the place as well.
aron hill: The staff and owner are amazing people who have chosen giving back to the community over profits
Lucie McCormick: Awesome coffee, beautiful art, really enjoyable environment
Jamie Daniels: Coffee, tea, and art!

Kaldi’s Coffee: what do users think?
Misa Mirzaee: The quality of their products decreased after covid drastically. They bring a tea pot with half pot tea inside. I never understood why they close so soon.Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Breakfast Burrito Parking space Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options Free street parking …More

Julia Manoogian: Kaldis was such a welcoming environment- it felt like I was at home. Our barista Rachel was so sweet and made the perfect drinks for us!! Highly recommend when Rachel is there :)
Jonathan Kraft: Had an iced vanilla latte here that was fantastic! If I lived in the area, it's possible I would frequent this place.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Matthew Maurer: Kaldi's is the best coffee in St. Louis. I know they're not as small and niche as some coffee shops, but they've got their art down. My go-to is simply a 12 oz. Mocha with oat milk. With or without whipped cream depending on my mood. For food, I really like the black bean burrito or the egg and cheese bagel. You will find at any Kaldi's, including DeMun, a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly baristas, and top-tier handcrafted beverages.Kaldi's baristas are trained to do latte art, and they put effort and care into crafting your beverage. This is in contrast to Starbucks that pumps out drinks as fast as possible to maximize revenue. The DeMun location has seating inside and out, and you can't beat sitting outside on a nice day, which is right across from a park. It is a smaller cafe, so seating can sometimes be limited inside especially over the weekend. There are also limited AC outlets, so be sure your laptop is charged if you plan on doing a little work from here.If DeMun is too crowded, you can always try their other locations on Skinker and in the Central West End. Both are very close. The DeMun location's food selection is also strictly vegetarian, so if you are craving meat, you'll want to choose a different Kaldi's. They do have meat alternatives, though.Vegetarian options: All of the food at this location is vegetarian.Parking: This location has some of the best parking of any Kaldi's in the areas. Both the skinker and central west end location have much fewer parking spots and are usually paid. This location has free street parking which there is usually plenty of.
Grace Wright: Service is great. Wish there was more seating.Parking: Decent amount of street parkingDietary restrictions accommodated Dairy free …More
Brice Shultz: The Demun location is always extremely slow. I only ever go here because it is close and I have been trying to spend a gift card I have had for years. Expect to wait 30 minutes for a smoothie and a bagel, or if you get something to-go, expect them to forget the butter you had to pay extra for, etc.
Noob Infinity: first time seeing this place. But the coffee was delicious, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who likes mocha. This is the best cafe in St. Louis.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Katherine Smith: Recent unfortunate experience where we waited for over half an hour for a salad. It was sitting waiting in the "to-go" despite being ordered "dine-in." We were left with what was clearly a half order of a salad which made for a very delayed and overpriced experience.
Ethan F: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Breakfast BurritoMore
Brian Trigg: Great neighborhood place but seems like the coffee has been off lately. The service for the food was less than reputable lately as well when there was at least 8-10 employees and it took 45 minutes for a breakfast bowl.Fairly positive it was forgotten about.
Bruce Verkruyse: The coffee and food is always good here. They were a bit under staffed. The seating area is old and it was not kept clean.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Colleen: They are closed, but you have no way to know unless you go and see the notice on the door. The sign says 2/8 and maybe 2/9 and 2/10, but they're still closed on 2/12.
Rodolfo Ploder: A place for students and faculty
Justin Winchester: Love Kaldi coffee. Aside from the coffee they have a great selection of teas and finger foods. Scones, breads, and a few sandwiches.Mostly though just a chill place to hangout. Have meeting, see an old friend. Just by and relax.
Koala Mandel: There are some good folks working here, and some presumptuous little humanoids, too. May you always be graced by the former.

Park Avenue Coffee - Downtown St. Louis: what do users think?
d bell: The service is terrible. I walked in to this location to grab a coke to go with my lunch. I gave the young lady my payment in her hand. She placed my change on the counter and basically threw the drink at me. That is one of the rudest things you can do as a cashier. My friend was going to order items but saw that and decided against it. Your employees need to not play around so much because I felt like us walking interrupted their conversation. The sad thing is I like your coffee but I can’t deal with the rude cashier and I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to go to this location as long as she is there.
Ryan Leigh Runyon: A great spot to give St. Louis Gooey Butter Cake a try! And across.the street from an adorable little pocket park if you want to sit outside.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Ooey Gooey Butter Cake …More
Jessamyn Ressler-Maerlender: Great coffee—especially in an area with not a lot of options. Lovely baked goods but limited selection of savory options for non-meat eaters. Helpful staff.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Gustavo Roth: Wrong hours. Waste of time.
Dave Whitehead: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Tim Reusche: Amazing! Had an iced coffee and the OMG bar I think it is. Adequately priced for local coffee shop. Good ambience. Free WiFi of course. Fast service!
Napkin: Best coffee on in the area. Beats Starbucks especially since the Starbucks over here closes at 12pm??? Definitely better than starbucks! Definitely recommend it here.
Young Premo: Great food and staff but there's a manager all employees and customers should look out for because he is extremely prejudice and disrespectful towards black people and disrespectful to women and his name is Pana remember it.
DJ Blue: The staff here is awesome! They're so welcoming and sweet and make me want to come back every day. Except this one guy. He's nice to look at, but he's also shooting the stink eye and pays too much attention to women while completely writing off any male customers. Nix him and the place is an 11/10.
Melissa Taylor: Not as tasty as I expected, and not very hospitable staff.
Rose Hewitt: Cute coffee shop, located in entryway of apartment building. Super friendly employee. Coffee was great. Went to try the butter cake, which may be an acquired taste, Super sweet, all I could taste was sugar, but other choices were probably more my speed.Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
David: Red Velvet and Double Chocolate Gooey Butter Cakes are phenomenal. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Great experience.
roberto ramirez: Weak, cold coffee. Bad attitude staff.
Eliza Garza: I was so excited to come to St. Luis because of a few reasons one being the butter cake.Unfortunately, it wasn’t giving what I thought it would’ve.The women in the front was sweet and helpful and that is where the stars come in.
Michaela Hogan: First time here and I will definitely be back! I tried the hot Carmel Macchiato and it was delicious, in addition very nice atmosphere
Sarah Harsh: Excellent as always! We always visit Park Avenue Coffee when in St. Louis and we love it. Each location has been great. The Gooey Butter Cake is amazing!!! Coffee is excellent as well.
Matthew Jamison: This place is home to one of my favorite baristas in St. Louis! Corey Ernst-Davis...this shop is so much more than just great coffee and gooey butter cake 😋 (although this is my favorite spot for coffee)This shop is a central location for networking, business meetings, and the genuine warmth, care, and hospitality of the workers there.Jenny & Joe (enjoy Italy 🇮🇹 Joe 👋🏿) were amazing! Truly a wonderful experience every time 👌🏿
Jessica Stone: My first time going today. Awesome service, the coffee and butter cake I got were phenomenal.
Rebecca _: Service with a smile and great coffee. Had a good quiche and delicious muffins to boot. Can’t beat that.
