Vin De Set: what do users think?
Eric Farson: Fantastic experience. The food and service here are some of the best in St. Louis. Period. Everyone was friendly - the host, waitress, and manager. I have never experienced this before at any restaurant in St. Louis. They really went above and beyond. I got the seabass and it was amazing. The patio is fantastic and also one of the best in St. Louis. I will be back once they reopen!
Eyreka Peterson: Edited 9/19/2022 to add that it is not shocking that this placed caught fire. Like I said below, major systemic issues.I wasn't going to write a review, but the service I received on a Friday evening (8/26/22) was so bizarre I've been thinking about it all weekend. I called the Thursday prior to inquire about reservations for 3:00 p.m. drinks and dinner. I was assured that it would be so slow at 3 that reservations would not be needed. I arrived at 3 p.m. with a party of 4 and no one was in the lobby or bar area so we waited around. A woman came through the door from outside on a mission and stopped in her tracks and asked "do you need something". Not rude, but certainly not kind. We explained we were there for drinks and dinner and she let us know there was no waitstaff to help us yet. Cool, I've worked food service before, I know how it goes right at opening. We asked if we could start with drinks and apps and were directed with a curt finger that it was outside. The bartender asks if we're going to order drinks and food, we say yes and order. We start towards the tables in the dining area and the bartender tells us we should sit in the bar area so she can bring out our apps. I let her know I need to sit at a low top table and there are none in the bar area. We proceed to sit at the table closest to the bar in the dining area. We are only there for a few minutes before she comes over to tell us that the table is reserved. There are zero people in the dining area. It's 3:20 p.m. I let her know that we're planning on ordering dinner and that I can't sit in a high top table. She assures us she has something over in her section. She seats us at a cheap cabana couch, directly in the sun (it's 98 degrees out) out on the deck. It has a tiny table that our drinks and apps barely fit on. We are boiling. We finish our apps and drinks and decided not to stay for dinner (because how even at that table). As we're leaving there are 2 tables seated in the dining area. No reason for us to have been moved. The drinks were great, the food that we had was delicious, the service was the absolute strangest thing I've ever come across. I'm willing to make excuses for 1 person having a tough afternoon and providing subpar service - it happens. When it's multiple people and multiple instances - that's systemic.
Brittany Griffith: Many thanks to Mike and the manager for making our day. The service was good and prompt. See you again soon :)
Malcomn Roach: Still a good place for Sunday brunch. Prime rib is awesome
beautybyraelynn: The women at reception was insanely rude to my group. I felt like I was dreaming… she ruined our evening from the moment we walked in. I never write reviews but I couldn’t help myself.
Ryan Daigle: Always a delicious meal. We've been going here for about 12 years and they always impress!
D M: Absolutely perfect brunch. Danita was our wait staff person today and she was wonderful!
Salvatore Scotto: Nice place, good dinner, staff friendly.
Issa Lifestyle 1: There was mouse droppings on the table. No one working there even attempted to cleaned it up. Horrible first impression. The hostess working Sunday 8/28 around 10:15am did not greet us when we arrived, she said something to a server then continued to eat her bacon. I said "hello" and she replied, "Can I help you?". Immediately I felt the quality of the experience sink to fast food level. I let her know we were there for brunch she asked "Do you have a reservation?" "No we do not." She shoveled the last of her bacon into her mouth, grabbed 2 menus with her hands she just put in her mouth and walked away. We reluctantly followed hoping to recover the ambience of the experience but at this point we are already not feeling welcome. We were guided through a small bar area and sat near a window in the back of the room. Immediately we noticed the droppings on the table, but the hostess had already gone back to the host stand. We never even sat down. I walked back to the host stand to bring the issue to the bacon eating hostess' attention to which she said 'it isn't feces or else we would be shut down'. I advised her that was exactly why I came to tell her instead of taking a picture. Her reply was "Go ahead take a picture cause it's not that." I replied,"OK I will." The person I was with had to ask for a different table, it was not offered to us by the hostess. She said 'the only other space I have is this or that', pointing toward a table in the corner by the door of the room we had just left. We walked over to the table ourselves. As I noticed she was not going to formally seat us, so I took it upon myself to retrieve the menus we left at the poop table and of course to take the photos of the mouse droppings on the table and in the window seal as suggested by the hostess (see attached). It took us about 10 minutes to find a different place to go for brunch; the entire time no one attempted to investigate or clean up the mess we reported. As we left the manager tried to speak to us but it was too late. I couldn't leave that place fast enough. People deserve to have a choice what environment their food is in especially during pandemic times. Definitely looks like rat sh't!!! I will not return.
Michael Wallace: Weather made it perfect. Their rooftop experience is top notch. And their servers are attentive
Jim Williamson: Rooftop bar with a view of the arch
Grant Young: Just stepped out of Vin De Set and couldn’t have been more displeased. We showed up at open, after being advised to do so on a Friday as it will get busy. So we showed up and got ignored until we told the hostess we’d like to have a drink and apps. After being pointed to the bar, through the window, we headed over. One party doesn’t deal well with high top chairs, so we headed to a 4 too under shade after being told “I won’t be able to give you service but that’s okay, I’ll till serve you”So we sat in the shade and maybe 3 minutes later we’re told the entire area was reserved and we had to sit in the sunniest area of the roof top. Had we not ordered, we would have left. This was the oddest and most uncomfortable experience I’ve had in any restaurant, not just in St Louis. If you want bad service, rude staff, and to be lied to, accompanied with honestly good food and cocktails - this is your spot.
Suzie Scrivner: This is my second time here. The food is great! Courtney our server and Bryson the bartender were wonderful. The woman at the hostess stand made me feel like I was intruding. She even came to me and my table at the end of the night to let me know that they were closing at 10. I did not see her tell any of the other patrons that they were closing. I will not come back to this place. We spent over $500 and felt like we were being kicked out early. There were four of us. We asked who she was and were told her name was Sharee. We still had full drinks and desserts. Please put a smile on your face when you are greeting customers. Don’t make them feel like they are not welcome.
Beverly: What happened? Last year we had a lovely birthday dinner with wonderful food; the set menu was fabulous, and the staff were incredibly attentive. This year it was just… bad. The baked brie with strawberry-basil marmalade would have benefited from a more generous serving of the marmalade, but that was forgivable. The coq au vin was absolutely flavorless and dry—confusing given that the dish is literally cooked in red wine. Interestingly, it was served on the same dish shape as the steak even though there was liquid on the dish (still somehow flavorless). The veggies were reminiscent of those served in an elementary school cafeteria. The strip steak was overdone, and the best that I can say about it is that it can be used in leftovers. (Un)happy birthday!
Janeth Hernandez: We had the steak and frites very disappointing. The steak was so fatty and tasted like burnt rubber. Drinks were bland and below average. Prices are far too high for the quality of food. We’ve even been here twice because we really wanted to like it since it is walking distance from our house. Never leave reviews but felt like I should.
Steve McCormick: I feel like it is overpriced. $33.00 / person for a 3 course brunch. They used to have a brunch buffer that was worth 33.00. The service was excellent.
Coleen Hill: Excellent staff, food and rooftop view! One of my very favorite St Louis restaurants. We have not had a bad meal yet. Also wonderful desserts!
cufta05: We dropped in based on a Google search on restaurant with a terrace. Also, we thought it would be possible to order a coffee because of the French restaurant. Unfortunately, our thinking was wrong. The quality of the coffee was terrible. The service was bad. The employees together with the manager did not seem to know where to put us. We wandered around to find an area for "coffee drinkers". The manager who was on duty did not care when we told her that the coffee was terrible. Overall C-Coffee 1.5/10Service 5.5/10
Cheryl Andrews: Great food and service
Mark Leibu: Probably better for dinner. Sunday brunch, so and vs so
Eric W Thompson: Good view outside on the roof. Fine food with attentive service. Prime rib was awesome.

ELAIA: what do users think?
Melissa Bear: Several years ago we came and had an outstanding meal. This year we came after seeing the Valentine’s Day meal advertised and had very high expectations. We were disappointed. The meal was more expensive than other similar restaurants in town, and for the price we paid, the size of portions and quality was not what one should expect from such a highly regarded restaurant. Our octopus was over cooked and chewy and the steak was more fat and gristle than meat.
Ross Mandernach: Absolutely amazing food, wine, service and atmosphere. Anyone who has given this place a 1 star review has the palate of a picky toddler and knows nothing about good food. This place is worth every penny
Josh Lorenz: Great dinner, excellent food and friendly staff!
Sherry Pesicka: The portions are extremely small and the prices are very expensive. 2 of us cost $277.00
Scott Howze: The tasting menu and pair pairings were amazing. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I have no complaints.
Parker Gelber: This was the most fun and romantic tasting menu experience we’ve had. The food was unbelievable. Creative and diverse. This staff here was fantastic. By far the best service we have experienced. There knowledge is unparalleled.5 out of 5, one of the best spots in the Midwest!
Brian Grouzos: The food was ok. Like 5 dishes in a row had basil oil on it and most were slightly under seasoned. Service was very good though. Overall, the value for the price wasn't there for me.
Rachel Waterman: After trying many other tasting menus around town - tempus, vicia, bulrush, etc - gotta say this is hands down the least bang for your buck. Food is good, for sure, but you can eat just as well, in a much nicer setting, for a lot less money elsewhere in town.
Jason Yeager: The food, wine, and service was exceptional. It was very expensive, but also a great dining experience.
Nicholas Miller: Expensive but the best. Don’t go here to save money, go here to have a meal you won’t soon forget. Each course was thoughtful, delicious, and beautiful. We went there for our anniversary and very much enjoyed the whole experience.
Eduardo Sequeira: This what everyone must expect about fine dining. Good service, good and very well executed dishes with a good balance of wine pairings that usually is just random, the selection of wines was very accurate with the dishes and it has the right proportion. Bread, caviar, fish, beat tartar, Salmon cooked with broth, the mushroom, the chicken, the beef and dessert were just the right amount of flavorful dishes. I think the space is small for the potential of the cooking 🔪 here. Really worth it to visit if you want to have a good and fine dining experience
David Nold: Absolutely a superb and well designed chefs menu. The cadence of the nine courses and service was excellent. The flavors and creativity of the food ….wonderful. And the wine pairings were perfect…so totally complimentary. The staff and ambiance is an understated elegance, by which I mean professional AND friendly. They change their tasting menu every 2 months or so…..SO….if I’m back in the area this will be again on my list.
Kyle Williams: Have been to OLIO many times and love their food, but our meal at ELAIA was painfully underwhelming. We got the tasting menu with standard wine pairings and after an excellent cheese and bread service were disappointed by every course. The sturgeon in particular was so overcooked and unseasoned it was inedible. The wine was good with each course but everything except the short rib had almost zero flavor. For a total tab of more than $500 this was just such a bad meal. Especially disappointing given that the front of house staff did such a good job. It was just a poor meal on every level.
dhstlmo: We'd not been here for a number of years but just went for a birthday dinner, getting the full tasting menu and premium wine pairings. Elaia had always been good but a bit mixed in the past, and we thought this meal was up to their best from the early days. The wine selections were outstanding and most of the food courses were excellent to truly wonderful, and everything was at least very good. Service was charming, knowledgeable, attentive and well-paced. Be aware of the price tag, which was steep for our choices, and decide if it's likely to be worth it to you. St. Louis tends toward strong and simple flavors, and our meal at Elaia wasn't like that, closer to what you'd find in the bigger cities or in Europe, which isn't to everyone's taste.
Mel: I agree with the other reviewers that the tasting menu is overpriced and lacking both creativity and flavor for what you pay for. The service was great, very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately it seemed like the menu had been created without much thought which does not fly for that price point. There are other restaurants in the area that have amazing tasting menus for a fraction of the price.
Brad Hogenmiller: Wonderful anniversary dinner!
Dana Liu: Overall this was a really disappointing meal that fell short mainly because the price we paid did not justify the food and experience we received. We did 2x Chef Tasting Menus at $135 each, and split the premium wine pairing at $140 for a total of $410 before tax and tip.For this price, we found some issues in the dishes we received (e.g., overcooked sturgeon, beef short rib itself was on the bland side), the ingredients in the dishes didn't justify the price point (most expensive was the small scoop of caviar, then followed by beef short rib, and sturgeon - both of which had small portions as you can see in the photos), the wine pours were fairly restrained over 8 glasses, and the overall experience wasn't up to par with 'fine dining'.As a direct comparison, the last fine dining experience pre-COVID was with a 1 michelin restaurant in Chicago called Temporis. They offer a $165 seasonal tasting menu which was an intimate fine-dining experience from the setup, the service throughout, and the final parting gift of a goodie bag with the tasting menus and a sweet treat from the pastry chef. Their menu also features premium ingredients such as Lobster, Duck, Venison, A5 Wagyu Ribeye, etc. Finally, their comparable 2nd tier wine pairing to Elaia's comes in at $165 over 9 courses. For just $30 more on the tasting menu, and $25 more on the wine tasting, you could've gotten excellent cooking (as recognized by Michelin if that makes a difference to you), premium ingredients, reasonable wine pairings, an extra course (and wine pour!), and a really positive memorable experience. Elaia was certainly memorable, but for all the wrong reasons.I do not recommend Elaia. There's definitely other restaurants in the St Louis area that gets better bang for buck. If you're looking for a guaranteed fine dining experience, I highly recommend making a trip up to Chicago - there's plenty of really great restaurants to explore!
Conrad Gray: Don’t even try it!We thought it would be a cool place because it’s in an old house. Thought maybe a chefs table!Wrong…..We both preordered the chef’s tasting menu when we made the reservation. Bad idea. It’s very hot at our table and they brought us an already opened bottle of what was supposed to be Italian still water but it smelled just like that river in St. Louis.I won’t spend the time telling about the terrible food on every course as I have included some photos.Way too much money for not nearly enough thought and concern for a fine dining experience.Terrible
Gaelen Joseph: owner is incredibly rude and food is not worth the price
Stanley McCaslin: Expensive, but a great food experience, with impeccable service. We had the four-course tasting menu, with wine pairings. I understand this menu changes daily based on what is freshly available that day.

Brasserie by Niche: what do users think?
Jim Thacker: I refuse to believe that people frequent this place on a regular basis. This place is the most over priced, over rated restaurant that I have ever been in. The ambiance was horrible, just a dilapidated old building. I had the braised beef with glazed carrots and potato puree. The braised beef was okay, the carrots consisted of about 1/2 of one carrot diced at different angles. The potato purée is nothing more than watered down mashed potatoes and there might have been two tablespoons of it. The salad that I had was the worst I think I ever had. The desert, the floating island was nothing more than a dollop of whipped cream on a little crème brûlée sauce with some shaved almonds... not even a scoop of ice cream. I’ve had better dinners at Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans. I've eaten at many high end restaurants but I've never been so disappointed. I’ve paid high end prices but was never disappointed like this place. I have no idea how they got so many good reviews. $127.00 for the wife and I with the tip. She had a half chicken. SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Richard Hamilton: Place was great. Food was good and the service was excellent.I had mussels and they weren't the best. I think I'm building a habit of ordering seafood in the Midwest and expecting more than can be reasonably provided. My wife had the burger and our friend had steak. Everything was good to great. We'll be back.

Had to wait a bit for our table, but the food and service was good. However, if you are going to reminisce about the amazing experience from Taste Bar, I think you will be disappointed. I wish Taste Bar was still here 😩

Khalid Mundwiller: I'm sorry, I'm not sure why everyone is reaching about this place. We went last night and had a gritty, undercooked steak (it literally couldn't melt the terrible butter they put on top) and 4 small raviolis and the worst gooey butter cake I've had in STL (maybe they missed the first word, gooey, because this was just cake). $90 for this. I'm sorry, there are so many better choices in STL. I was REALLY excited to try this place based on all the positive reviews and NOTHING I had was very good (the wild boar ravioli was the best thing and even it was not great at all). I hate giving negative reviews and I probably should have sent the steak back, so that's on me. Server was very nice and we still tipped her accordingly, but the food was not good AT ALL.

Jorden N: I swear the STL food journalism scene has something against the Hamiltons group, because this was yet another amazing place the journalists don’t bother mentioning.Everything was just so spot on. The only fleck of meh-ness was the Cesar salad, but even then it was like being the dumbest kid in the talented/gifted class- getting an A- when everyone else gets an A+
Carey B: I find it incredibly rude to answer the phone and scream “I CAN’T HEAR YOU” and then hang up when someone is calling to make reservations. I hadn’t even had a chance to talk when I was yelled at and hung up on. I wish I were kidding when I say that this happened with three phone calls made today where the exact same person answered, yelled at me, and hung up.
Aaron Moore: "Great vibe!" That's the term I'll use to describe this place. Eleven Eleven Mississippi is intimate enough for a chill date night, quiet enough for engaging conversation. Yet large enough for a big group to celebrate a birthday with your friends.I had dinner with a friend and we enjoyed the ravioli for a starter which I highly highly recommend. As my entree, I enjoyed the Chicken Diablo Fusilli. Prepared to perfection and just a little bite. I made reservations and was seated right away. The server was attentive, engaged in fun banter, and displayed strong knowledge of the menu. I will go again and again! I recommend you do the same.Parking: Parked right around the corner of the restaurant. There was an adequate amount of parking.

It was clean, plenty of space to travel through and visually interesting to look around. Local celebrity hotspot for sure. Staff was very nice and welcoming. There's an outside section which will be great for the coming summer months!
Gretchen Dobbs: My boyfriend and I have been here several times, sat in the dining area, and have had wonderful experiences so far with the servers, which is the only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars. We came in this evening 4/27 and sat at the bar to have some food and drinks but we were completely ignored by the older female bartender with wavy hair- she didn’t even bother to tell us her name. She was blatantly giving us poor service, checking in frequently and having conversation with the patrons directly next to us. She was not busy in the slightest but couldn’t bother to look at us. This went on for over 30 minutes. This made us so upset we decided to leave before ordering our food. Very disappointed and surprised.
Gennie Palmer: The first time I dined at 11/11 Mississippi was with my parents when I was 12 years old. I fell in love with this restaurant. I’ve had my 14th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, & 29th birthday dinners here with my family and friends, and also for other celebrations over the years. I most recently dined here for fun in March 2023. The cuisine is always delicious, the staff are excellent, timing is always smooth but never rushed, the atmosphere and energy is positive, and I always look forward to the experience. I hope to dine at 11/11 Mississippi for many more years to come.Parking: very easy to find parking or have a drop-off/pick-up by Uber/Lyft

Judy Ross: Food delicious, service not so great. We had a 11 am reservation. Several minutes after ordering we were told that they were out of several of their main dishes including the lamb and the chicken. In general we found the staff to be kind of rude. They brought out one entree and then the rest of the table had to wait 20 minutes for their meals. The outdoor seating is lovely— especially for those of us who love to garden.
Peter Maliha: Delicious food! Really hearty and fresh. You walk out feeling really good and satisfied. One of the best daytime spots in STL.
Pedja Maodus: Odlična jagnjeće butkica za rucak u 16h
Jess Watson: Very disappointed. Tock lost our reservation, but the host was kind enough to make it work and seat us outside. (Cold and windy but I don’t blame them for seating us outside, it was the reservation apps fault). Our server seemed mad to serve us and had very few words to say. The only time he was fast to return and check in on us was when we asked for the check. The starters were good but not worth it. Some $10-15 tiny plates are so delicious that you don’t care that it is basically $3/bite. This was not the case here. Shishitos we’re basically flavorless and the pickled veggies were cut so big and were so underwhelming in both flavor and presentation. The warm pita and the caponata was great. The only reason I might try Olio again. We got some cocktails that were average so nothing to say about those. We were so disappointed by our server that we didn’t even bother ordering dinner and we instead just got take out from Tin roof. I hope that the server was just having a bad day because he was unpleasant to interact with. Shame because we went there to celebrate my college graduation and were ready to enjoy some great food and cocktails.
Giancarlo Andreoli: Il cibo era ottimo, peccato che mancassero diverse cose dal menù
rosalind latham: I have been passing by this place for 3 years, so when my girlfriend wanted to go for her birthday dinner, I joined her. The place is so cute with its own herb garden and greenhouses. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat down and ordered drinks, which were excellent. The menu, which is Mediterranean, isn't very big, but we ordered different entrees so we could see what they were. I had the lamb shank since the lamb shoulder with hummus was sold out. It came with 3 sauces and yellow rice and chickpeas. It was cooked just right and was very good. It was supposed to be a plate for two, but I could eat that all by myself. My only complaint is the glasses the drinks came in were smaller than the usual martini glass, and the chairs are auditorium chairs and too hard. We had a great time and will go back again.
Maggie Oliveri: Food was AMAZING!!
Amy Fitzgerald: Highly recommend! Amazing food and drinks and great service. Love the ambiance. Lots of vegan options too!
Adam Levine (Adam Nate Levine): i mean. we’re talking fresh food on a hot st. louis summer day? nothing hits the spot better
Joseph Ensley: Wow!!! The food was DELICIOUS and we could tell attention was paid to the quality of ingredients. Bartender was knowledgeable about various types of alcohol and liqueurs, and the drinks were fantastic! I would highly recommend the hummus with the pine nuts (can't remember the name at the moment), but it was so good we ordered one to go! I wish we lived closer because this would certainly be a regular spot to enjoy!
Sheri Lind: Incredible botanical garden with a gorgeous menu. Service could be improved all around. Disappointed they were out of olives. Perfect place for patio weather!
Devinee Stroud: My husband and I came to Olio for a date night and we had such a great experience! They happened to have a wine tasting happening while we were there and we had a great time enjoying the wines as well as chatting with the featured vineyard owners. The servers were friendly and cheerful. The food was so so delicious. My husband and I split the deluxe hummus, the bruschetta toast and the egg salad toast and it was more than enough for the both of us. I also got the ginger spritz which was really refreshing. We left full and satisfied! Will definitely be coming back and bringing friends next time.
Joshua Spurgeon: Very fun lunch date in a tastefully converted restaurant from a historic automotive shop/garage.Unique small plates of food to share and enjoy.Excellent service and delicious menu items in a memorable dining experience. They have indoor seating, a large outdoor patio area, and a small indoor private room for parties or reservations. My wife and I liked this place very much.
videsh deshmukh: Excellent food. Plenty of vegetarian options. Service was very good.
Yigal Y: Wonderful atmosphere.Good service
Jason Hoffarth: Olio was great and the epitome of middle eastern cuisine! The chicken kefta and turkey thigh were both tender and juicy and the flavors were out of this world. You gotta check this place out!
Marzen Baldonado: Awesome Chai!

Vicia: what do users think?
Michael Gehman: Beautiful restaurant located in St Louis' Central West End. The food is exquisitely prepared by talented chefs who have a way of turning even seemingly boring vegetables into fabulous entrées and side dishes. Love their focus on local ingredients and huge support of local farms.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Derek Theisen: We did the farmers feast tasting menu. All of the dishes were creative, carefully constructed, and delicious. The fried potato with caramelized onion and the cheesy grits with smoked daikon were real stars of the show. Unique wine menu and great cocktails.Vegetarian options: Only one dish had to be subbed in our tasting for our vegetarian guest and the substitution was just as thoughtful and tasty as the meat option.
Allan Connolly: I hate posting negative reviews, but sometimes you’re left with little choice. I sent the following message directly to the restaurant, but after a month without a reply from Vicia I felt I had little choice.“We had an appalling experience last Saturday while dining at Vicia.  We've eaten at Vicia several times, and enjoyed the prior experiences, but the most recent visit was appalling.   We paid for the elevated wine pairings to go with what we thought would be a tasting menu.Your tasting menu is anything but a menu degustation - it's a three course dinner served family style.  The pairings for the "tasting menu" were a glass of very average white, followed by a very thin Bordeaux, Duc des Nauves.   These are bottles of wine that retail for LESS than $25, and that's retail, not trade.Five of us had the parings, so we had one bottle of white and one bottle of red for the table.  You charged us $250 for wine that you paid well under well under $50.  I get the usual 2x mark up from retail at a restaurant, 3x gets irritating,  but 5x???   That's nothing but insulting - you are exploiting your customers to the point it borders on theft.  I can't begin to imagine what you serve for the base pairing. We raised this issue with your staff, and let's just say they were less than helpful.  Their tone was dismissive, and they repeated over and over again "what do you want us to do?".  First step, don't put this back on the customers. Please understand that we are not serial whiners.  The food was great, but the flagrant price gouging, combined with the poor response from the staff, ruined the experience.”
Michael Snowden: Wow Vicia was a wonderful meal and I am blown away by how affordable it was for 2 people for this quality of food. I’ve been to other places with this level quality and I end up spending over 1000 but not here. Our bartender Tyler was a really nice guy and the wine guy was excellent as well. We did the farmers feast and it was superb. Will definitely be back in the future!

Nidaa Jabbar: Very nice place, staff is nice. When we came to order, they gave us a price of $85 for a Tea three-course meal that they had. When the first course came, one of the entrées was pork, we had told her we are 100% kosher so we can’t have that. So they adjusted my serving to a little arugula salad. Then came second course and they had chorizo inside a sauce and we told them we also can’t have that so they replaced it with two little bit cakes. The only protein we had was two little pieces, upper thigh that was split. Then we got the tab and it was $263 because it was $85 per person. We were never once told it was per person. Well I didn’t want to feel rude or rub my message often anyway, but I did email the restaurant and contacted them through their personal site and they have yet to even respond.
Casey Peetz: Delicious vegetable forward seasonal menu.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Julie Hong: Premium pairing was not worth it. Meal was okay. Overall I was very disappointed
Bradford Sledge: I don’t even know how to review this restaurant. It is not the type I would normally choose for myself, I went with a group. There’s no menu, you get what they serve. It’s heavily vegetarian but there was a little meat. Some of the options were yummy, some were a miss for me. I wouldn’t go back, especially given the price, but if you lean vegetarian and want something different and interesting, this might be just the place for you.
Dylan Mullins: A beautiful curated experience for a special occasion.Vegetarian options: The menu was vegetable forward with a focus on local and regional farmers. Multiple items grown on premise in their garden.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Thomas Papouin: Best food I've had since moving to the Midwest. Very imaginative. Unusual ingredients. Presentation is stunning. Explosion of flavors guaranteed. Atmosphere is a clever balance of rustic, modern and semi-formal. Service is impeccable, simple, elegant and synchronized like in Michelin star restaurants.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jimmy Winkelmann: Was told on phone price of tasting per person was 190 each and included tax and tip. This was false. Total cost was 260 a person with just food not even drinks. Canceled my reservation and looking elsewhere.
Jessica Silas: Everything was absolutely perfect.Vegetarian options: Don't hesitate to go here for the vegetarian tasting menu. It's equal to the omni options and totally worth it.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Hyla L: Really disappointed like everything else in st louis, rich people exploit our health. This used to be a reasonably priced, good for your health restaurant. I am sorry, but 100+ dollars for a 4 course meal I don't want is ridiculous. I was supporting this business from the start when they moved, but now I say go back to Cali
Adam Way: A good middle america fine dining experienceFood: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Wine Pairing, Chef's Tasting …More
— “‪Muskrat Steve‬” —: This is a bit higher end than I am used to. We did the tasting option and celebrated our engagement. The food was exceptional. We both enjoyed 95% of what was served and what we didn't like was due to palette preferences and not the quality of the food. The wine pairings were perfect. The staff was amazing. I didn't think the dessert was on the same level as the appetizers and main course but it still tasted well. Ultimately, I hope to return again. I need to have more of those turnip tacos.Vegetarian options: Veggie options were very well done.

Alan Musk: great time had by all!
Christie Del Re: They made it extremely evident that they don’t care about people dining solo, as was made clear during the entirety of my visit. From the rude host trying to get me to eat at the bar when I made a reservation, to the tucked away corner table in the far back of the restaurant, to the server who shifted focus on larger tables. As someone who travels for work frequently and often dines alone, I expect the same level of service and attention that a larger party would. On top of that, the food came extremely quick, an indication that it is not made fresh, and very over-peppered to the point that it needed to be remade. I did not want the dish anymore, and the server pushed me to have them remake it so I could take it with me (in an attempt to ensure I would still pay for it), needless to say, I gave it to a homeless man after I left. For being one of the most popular Italian restaurants in St. Louis, and not super busy, I would have expected a better experience. Will not be returning, I will choose one of the many other Italian restaurants nearby.

Daulen Zhangabylov: Service was ok but the steak was kinda rare not medium as we asked

Renee Greer: Fabulous from first glance to final farewell. Extensive bar. Colossal shrimp cocktail was suburb. Wedge salad fill of tasty gorginzola. Cesar claimed to be best in st louis and was outstanding. I had rack of lamb, probably the best I have tasted in last 10 years! My guys went with bone in rib eye and gorginzola crusted filet. Both said you could cut with fork, that tender. 3 servings of twice baked potatoes...once we saw them we had to order! No room for dessert, although each looked too good to eat. Food topped only by the attentive, but not intrusive wait staff. Can simply not add enough accolades...try Carmines as your special foodie treat!

Travis Harrant: I had dinner tonight with some friends. J, our server, was amazing. He started is off with the recommendation of the steak nachos. AMAZING. He recommended the Porter House for dinner. We all ordered it. He suggested wine that paired very well with the steak. The service he provided for our dinner was beyond our expectations. He is a great kid and needs to know that. He had humor and joked with us the whole time. While doing this, he still was very professional and ensured his other tables had the same experience.Great kid. I hope this establishment can hire more kids like him.
Mollie Norris: My food was delicious and it was perfect!Parking: Very multiple places to park
Cristian Begazo: Delicious and amazing service by J!!From the moment we were seated, J provided us with exceptional service. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to explain the various options and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. All four or us took his recommendation for the porterhouse Steak! Which was phenomenal!Throughout the course of our meal, J continued to impress us with his professionalism and attention to detail. He checked on us regularly to ensure that we had everything we needed, and he even made some great recommendations for wine pairings. The highlight of the meal, however, was J's genuine warmth, hospitality and sense of humor. He made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the entire dining experience, and we could tell that he truly cared about making our meal memorable.Overall, I would highly recommend J as a server at Carmines Steakhouse. He is an asset to your team and truly made our dining experience one to remember.

Kayla Meyer: I came here with my family after my college graduation & left upset & crying. My dad has health complications & is disabled, so the lack of wheelchair accessibility & seats while waiting is unacceptable. When I booked this reservation, the website said “Italian fine-dining restaurant.” Come to find out, this is NOT Italian. Olive Garden would’ve been a better choice. When we sat down, the man who gave us drinks told us the owner “Gino” would explain the menu for us. When “Gino” came over to our table, he immediately asked for our order. I asked him if he could explain the menu to us, because we had never been here before & mind you the menu is only ONE PAGE. It was unfamiliar to my family & myself & I just wanted to make sure my father (who has dietary restrictions) & I ordered something we would like. He responded with, “Alllll of it?” in a rude & snarky voice. I was taken back. I told him I’ve never heard of these dishes & he proceeded to say “This isn’t Italian, this is Sicilian. You Americans have made Italian food into lasagna & spaghetti & meatballs. I’ve never had either of those in my life. You are in a five star restaurant, & the only one in the Midwest. Though, if you want that kind of food you can go next door. They aren’t as good as us but it looks like you won’t be happy here.”We politely just let it go & ordered what we thought would suit us best. The food, (MEDIOCRE AT BEST) was not worth the $45 we paid for each dish. Before & during our meal, they would snatch our plates away from us while we were still eating. Gino also slapped the bill onto the table & walked away. As we walked out, he was sitting at the bar on his phone & didn’t say a word to us.I was taken back by this entire restaurant & have been to many restaurants on the hill, but I will NEVER recommend this one. My graduation night turned into me feeling bad that I put my family in this situation & it was very hard to bounce back.Kid-friendliness: RUDE TO EVERYONE.Parking: NONE.Wheelchair accessibility: NONE.Dietary restrictions: NONE. We asked about the menu due to my father having health restrictions we were asked “why” they had to explain the menu to us since we could just read it.
Angie Bacon: This was our first and last time eating at Dominic‘s. While the food was very good, the menu had about half of the stuff on their website. The prices were higher. The waiter that took our food order was not very pleasant. Felt like he was giving us attitude that he was better than us for whatever reason.
Ashleigh LaZear: Wow wow wow!!! Dominic's surpassed all expectations!!! We came here for my 31st birthday with our 10 month old son. Every one from the server to the owner came to our table and our experience was world class. The chef even brought freshly made pasta to our baby, put cheese on it, cut it up for him, and watch with genuine joy as our baby enjoyed the special dish they brought him. That was the best birthday gift of the night. Their dedication to making us feel like rockstars made the night one we will never forget. Thank you Dominic's!!!
Ushma Ahmed: The restaurant is beautiful and welcoming. My husband and I both had the Cannelloni alla Romana and it was absolutely delicious. My only complaint - the older gentlemen (I presume the front of house manager) is extremely rude to the staff. He was clearing off a table and collecting plates when a server walked by. He barked at her to take the plates and shoved it onto her arms. She almost dropped all of the plates. This is unacceptable behavior. It is never acceptable to treat your staff disrespectfully, and definitely not in front of guests.
Diane Kuchta: Excellent service, wonderful experience. Food was amazing. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice Italian restaurant. Great atmosphere. Can't wait to come back. Italian at its finest.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Kassandra Wolf: Went here for a date night with my husband. It was a very nice, upscale, old-school Italian restaurant. It was not as busy as some other places on the Hill, but I would say a bit more classy. The escargot was lovely, our salads fresh, my bolognese was perfect and my husband's osso buco was delicious. I had the tiramisu for dessert, which was very good, but so is every tiramisu I've had. This restaurant is great for a more intimate meal. The quality of the food and attention to detail from the servers was top-notch. I'll keep it in mind for a family celebration in the future.
