Vince Coiro: Tried Beni Exquisite Eats for the first time and had a single burger with fries. First off the steak fries were a very welcoming surprise and the seasoning perfect. The burger was great and the add-ons (lettuce and pickles) offered a perfect crunch. This to-go package was empty and clean after lunch. Raven S: I had a pretty good Smash burger and fries. Our server was sweet and helpful. The wings were not seasoned at all so they just taste like a thin sauce that was also lacking in flavor. They seem to have a pretty nice bar set up. However, they only offer bottled soft drinks that run $4 a pop. Other then that the prices were super reasonable.

I was taken to this restaurant last year for my birthday and have been addicted and recommending it ever since. Every time that I go, I always get the chicken and waffles! My fiancé changes his order up usually. We have yet to be disappointed! The customer service is always exceptional and the drinks from the bar are great as well! The restaurant is always clean, well-staffed, and cozy. Oooohhhh, the best part is the prices! This place has a reasonable price list!

Sara Williamson: I have been to Akar probably 10-15 times and the food is always excellent. The lamb shank is some of the best food in Saint Louis. It is for this reason that we decided to take our out of town friends here for nye dinner to show them the best of Saint Louis. The dinner was wonderful until I asked for a box for my half eaten lamb shank, which the box never arrived for. Eventually I asked if the box was coming, but was told it was thrown away and there was nothing on it. Now I don't normally like to dispute that, but I intentionally left about half of the meal to eat later. The waiter did apologize a couple of times, but nothing was done to rectify the issue. I think this was most likely a fluke as I have never had an issue before, but I was left feeling disappointed. I sincerely hope this does not happen to others, and was a one time thing.
Erick: Lovely dining experience with cozy and intimate setting - indoor dining space is quite limited but as a result, it feels quite homey. The tamarind ribs appetizer was sinfully delicious and had no right to be that tasty. Easily would order a full slab if available. The catch of the day (barramundi) was much more reserved but equally as delicious. Would recommend for a lovely date night out!
Caitlin McMahan: Excellent experience for us! My husband and I are from Atlanta and we walked in, not knowing that there were set times for us to reserve to eat there. They were understanding and said that we could sit at the bar until the next reserved guest came in. The bar was the best seat in the house because we truly got to talk about food with our server and others around us. We ordered the pea soup, lobster rangoon, pot stickers, cha sui chicken, and the chicken pho. The food was flavorful. Many of the dishes had complex flavors that made you go wow. Our cocktails and mocktail were delicious. This place is worth making a reservation at and you do not want to miss anything that is happening here.
Avery: A intimate experience with amazing food. Every single bite was an explosion of flavor. The spare rib fell right off the bone. The blossom cocktail was delicious. All of the vegetables were all cooked to perfection. I didn't know mashed peas could be so delicious. The roasted carrots and eggplant were great as well. It was expensive but worth every penny.

Matheo L: I travel a lot for work, all over the US and Canada, and this hands down the best restaurant experience I’ve had so far. Service is super warm, they make you feel at home and the food is equally delicious and innovative. This is a gem that you’d be crazy not to try. Do get a reservation in advance, because part of the charm of the whole experience is that the restaurant is pretty small. There is however a terrace that sits more.

There's a huge u-shaped community table that was surely a bar in a previous life, along with tables and booths. We've noticed that some restaurants here provide glasses and a carafe of water at every table (or every two chairs along a community table), which is especially nice while you're waiting for a server just after being seated.We had breakfast/brunch here two days in a row - it was that good! Between the two of us, we had the biscuit and gravy, the stuffed French toast (the thickest I've ever seen), and we shared the scramble with bacon, goat cheese, arugula, etc. both days. The scramble is, without a doubt, something we will try to replicate at home.

Joshua Dull: My family has been eating at Kreis' for three generations - and I can confidently say the service, and the food, is first class. I recently went to dinner for my father's birthday, and after telling the host stand about it when booking my reservation, I was disappointed the staff did nothing to celebrate when we dined. A week later, I got a call with them apologizing and offering us to come back so they can make it right. Now THAT is customer service. Regarding the food: their prime rib is some of the finest I've ever had - and they never skimp on the portions! I always make sure to get a twice-baked potato to go with it. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

I had 6:45pm reservation and was seated shortly after arriving. We were seated down stairs and our server was Dale. Top notch server with top notch help in a young lady named Donte. I order the strip and my GF order the fillet. Both with tasty garlic shrimp on the side! My steak was cooked to perfection with hers being slightly undercooked. I had a baked potato that was slightly overcooked but still good. Was too full for dessert unfortunately. I would most definitely recommend this establishment.

Aaron Obernuefemann: We made a reservation for 5:30 PM. When we arrived, the parking lot looked empty but was beginning to fill up. By the end of our meal, the parking lot was full and we noticed a few cars circling around trying to find a spot. The service and atmosphere was simply top of the line! Jerry (who was one of our servers) was very nice and helpful with any of our questions we had, truly a 5 star service person himself. When ready, we ended up ordering pan seared bacon wrapped scallops fir an appetizer, and an 18 oz ribeye steak with lyonnaise potatoes and Jumbo lump crab cake with the Kreis house twice baked potatoes for dinner (passed on the drink menu but it had a great variety of choices as well). All of our dishes came out quickly and all the food was PHENOMENAL!! The ribeye was absolutely perfect and the jumbo lump crab cake is truly the best you will find on this side of the river (we go regularly to Maryland for their crab cakes which are our favorites). For dessert, we ended up ordering the cheesecake and y'all this was seriously the best cheesecake I've ever had (speaking as a fellow cheesecake fan)!! Overall I was very satisfied considering I knew this place was considered higher priced than others. 100% worth it for sure and would recommend for anyone to go! A nice button down shirt, and other nice clothes should be worn to the restaurant but other than that, we will definitely be returning, especially for special occasions!Parking: We arrived at 5:30 for a reservation which had an empty parking lot. Liz Funk: Excellent service, but terrible steak and food. Everything lacks flavor. The broccoli with lemon literally came out as a half raw crown of broccoli with a wedge of lemon. Just like it it was straight from the supermarket. Potatoes were plain and barely seasoned. Filet mignon was raw not medium rare as ordered and rubbed with so much pepper that it gave it a terrible taste. The brandy sauce was burnt and gave the steak a terrible burnt flavor. My husband’s steak was a little bit better. We decided to leave my steak and eat his. I will say the waiters were very attentive though. The food just wasn’t great.

I sent the following message directly to the restaurant, but after a month without a reply from Vicia I felt I had little choice.“We had an appalling experience last Saturday while dining at Vicia. We've eaten at Vicia several times, and enjoyed the prior experiences, but the most recent visit was appalling. We paid for the elevated wine pairings to go with what we thought would be a tasting menu.Your tasting menu is anything but a menu degustation - it's a three course dinner served family style. The pairings for the "tasting menu" were a glass of very average white, followed by a very thin Bordeaux, Duc des Nauves. These are bottles of wine that retail for LESS than $25, and that's retail, not trade.Five of us had the parings, so we had one bottle of white and one bottle of red for the table. You charged us $250 for wine that you paid well under well under $50. I get the usual 2x mark up from retail at a restaurant, 3x gets irritating, but 5x??? That's nothing but insulting - you are exploiting your customers to the point it borders on theft. I can't begin to imagine what you serve for the base pairing.We raised this issue with your staff, and let's just say they were less than helpful. Michael Snowden: Wow Vicia was a wonderful meal and I am blown away by how affordable it was for 2 people for this quality of food. I’ve been to other places with this level quality and I end up spending over 1000 but not here. Our bartender Tyler was a really nice guy and the wine guy was excellent as well. When the first course came, one of the entrées was pork, we had told her we are 100% kosher so we can’t have that. So they adjusted my serving to a little arugula salad. Then came second course and they had chorizo inside a sauce and we told them we also can’t have that so they replaced it with two little bit cakes. The only protein we had was two little pieces, upper thigh that was split. Then we got the tab and it was $263 because it was $85 per person. We were never once told it was per person. Well I didn’t want to feel rude or rub my message often anyway, but I did email the restaurant and contacted them through their personal site and they have yet to even respond.

— “Muskrat Steve” —: This is a bit higher end than I am used to. We did the tasting option and celebrated our engagement. The food was exceptional. We both enjoyed 95% of what was served and what we didn't like was due to palette preferences and not the quality of the food. The wine pairings were perfect. The staff was amazing. I didn't think the dessert was on the same level as the appetizers and main course but it still tasted well. Ultimately, I hope to return again. She was blatantly giving us poor service, checking in frequently and having conversation with the patrons directly next to us. She was not busy in the slightest but couldn’t bother to look at us. I’ve had my 14th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th, & 29th birthday dinners here with my family and friends, and also for other celebrations over the years. I most recently dined here for fun in March 2023. The cuisine is always delicious, the staff are excellent, timing is always smooth but never rushed, the atmosphere and energy is positive, and I always look forward to the experience. Tricia Fuller: I was so excited to try this restaurant. I love the concept and the menu had a variety of options. From the moment we were seated it went downhill. To begin we were told there would be a wait on our drinks because they were out of glasses. Service was lackluster and unattentive. Not once were we given a refill or offered a refill on drinks, no plates were cleared from our table at any point. We received an appetizer before we even had water. The food was 50/50. My husband's eggs were grossly undercooked, with egg whites running across his plate. My tomato soup had a potato in the bottom of it. Pancakes were on par with Dennys. The Strawberry orange juice was literally orange juice with small chunks of strawberries. The goat cheese app was delicious and if any of the other dishes were on this level I would give it another chance; however, the mediocre food combined with poor service we have no plans to return. I also overheard a table ask for a small modification of an item and was told absolutely no substitutions/modifications per the chef. In today's world of allergies and this restaurants seemingly forward concept, I was surprised to hear this.
