ELAIA: what do users think?
Melissa Bear: Several years ago we came and had an outstanding meal. This year we came after seeing the Valentine’s Day meal advertised and had very high expectations. We were disappointed. The meal was more expensive than other similar restaurants in town, and for the price we paid, the size of portions and quality was not what one should expect from such a highly regarded restaurant. Our octopus was over cooked and chewy and the steak was more fat and gristle than meat.
Ross Mandernach: Absolutely amazing food, wine, service and atmosphere. Anyone who has given this place a 1 star review has the palate of a picky toddler and knows nothing about good food. This place is worth every penny
Josh Lorenz: Great dinner, excellent food and friendly staff!
Sherry Pesicka: The portions are extremely small and the prices are very expensive. 2 of us cost $277.00
Scott Howze: The tasting menu and pair pairings were amazing. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I have no complaints.
Parker Gelber: This was the most fun and romantic tasting menu experience we’ve had. The food was unbelievable. Creative and diverse. This staff here was fantastic. By far the best service we have experienced. There knowledge is unparalleled.5 out of 5, one of the best spots in the Midwest!
Brian Grouzos: The food was ok. Like 5 dishes in a row had basil oil on it and most were slightly under seasoned. Service was very good though. Overall, the value for the price wasn't there for me.
Rachel Waterman: After trying many other tasting menus around town - tempus, vicia, bulrush, etc - gotta say this is hands down the least bang for your buck. Food is good, for sure, but you can eat just as well, in a much nicer setting, for a lot less money elsewhere in town.
Jason Yeager: The food, wine, and service was exceptional. It was very expensive, but also a great dining experience.
Nicholas Miller: Expensive but the best. Don’t go here to save money, go here to have a meal you won’t soon forget. Each course was thoughtful, delicious, and beautiful. We went there for our anniversary and very much enjoyed the whole experience.
Eduardo Sequeira: This what everyone must expect about fine dining. Good service, good and very well executed dishes with a good balance of wine pairings that usually is just random, the selection of wines was very accurate with the dishes and it has the right proportion. Bread, caviar, fish, beat tartar, Salmon cooked with broth, the mushroom, the chicken, the beef and dessert were just the right amount of flavorful dishes. I think the space is small for the potential of the cooking 🔪 here. Really worth it to visit if you want to have a good and fine dining experience
David Nold: Absolutely a superb and well designed chefs menu. The cadence of the nine courses and service was excellent. The flavors and creativity of the food ….wonderful. And the wine pairings were perfect…so totally complimentary. The staff and ambiance is an understated elegance, by which I mean professional AND friendly. They change their tasting menu every 2 months or so…..SO….if I’m back in the area this will be again on my list.
Kyle Williams: Have been to OLIO many times and love their food, but our meal at ELAIA was painfully underwhelming. We got the tasting menu with standard wine pairings and after an excellent cheese and bread service were disappointed by every course. The sturgeon in particular was so overcooked and unseasoned it was inedible. The wine was good with each course but everything except the short rib had almost zero flavor. For a total tab of more than $500 this was just such a bad meal. Especially disappointing given that the front of house staff did such a good job. It was just a poor meal on every level.
dhstlmo: We'd not been here for a number of years but just went for a birthday dinner, getting the full tasting menu and premium wine pairings. Elaia had always been good but a bit mixed in the past, and we thought this meal was up to their best from the early days. The wine selections were outstanding and most of the food courses were excellent to truly wonderful, and everything was at least very good. Service was charming, knowledgeable, attentive and well-paced. Be aware of the price tag, which was steep for our choices, and decide if it's likely to be worth it to you. St. Louis tends toward strong and simple flavors, and our meal at Elaia wasn't like that, closer to what you'd find in the bigger cities or in Europe, which isn't to everyone's taste.
Mel: I agree with the other reviewers that the tasting menu is overpriced and lacking both creativity and flavor for what you pay for. The service was great, very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately it seemed like the menu had been created without much thought which does not fly for that price point. There are other restaurants in the area that have amazing tasting menus for a fraction of the price.
Brad Hogenmiller: Wonderful anniversary dinner!
Dana Liu: Overall this was a really disappointing meal that fell short mainly because the price we paid did not justify the food and experience we received. We did 2x Chef Tasting Menus at $135 each, and split the premium wine pairing at $140 for a total of $410 before tax and tip.For this price, we found some issues in the dishes we received (e.g., overcooked sturgeon, beef short rib itself was on the bland side), the ingredients in the dishes didn't justify the price point (most expensive was the small scoop of caviar, then followed by beef short rib, and sturgeon - both of which had small portions as you can see in the photos), the wine pours were fairly restrained over 8 glasses, and the overall experience wasn't up to par with 'fine dining'.As a direct comparison, the last fine dining experience pre-COVID was with a 1 michelin restaurant in Chicago called Temporis. They offer a $165 seasonal tasting menu which was an intimate fine-dining experience from the setup, the service throughout, and the final parting gift of a goodie bag with the tasting menus and a sweet treat from the pastry chef. Their menu also features premium ingredients such as Lobster, Duck, Venison, A5 Wagyu Ribeye, etc. Finally, their comparable 2nd tier wine pairing to Elaia's comes in at $165 over 9 courses. For just $30 more on the tasting menu, and $25 more on the wine tasting, you could've gotten excellent cooking (as recognized by Michelin if that makes a difference to you), premium ingredients, reasonable wine pairings, an extra course (and wine pour!), and a really positive memorable experience. Elaia was certainly memorable, but for all the wrong reasons.I do not recommend Elaia. There's definitely other restaurants in the St Louis area that gets better bang for buck. If you're looking for a guaranteed fine dining experience, I highly recommend making a trip up to Chicago - there's plenty of really great restaurants to explore!
Conrad Gray: Don’t even try it!We thought it would be a cool place because it’s in an old house. Thought maybe a chefs table!Wrong…..We both preordered the chef’s tasting menu when we made the reservation. Bad idea. It’s very hot at our table and they brought us an already opened bottle of what was supposed to be Italian still water but it smelled just like that river in St. Louis.I won’t spend the time telling about the terrible food on every course as I have included some photos.Way too much money for not nearly enough thought and concern for a fine dining experience.Terrible
Gaelen Joseph: owner is incredibly rude and food is not worth the price
Stanley McCaslin: Expensive, but a great food experience, with impeccable service. We had the four-course tasting menu, with wine pairings. I understand this menu changes daily based on what is freshly available that day.

The Boom Boom Room: what do users think?
Roman Landa: We purchased tickets online to the Friday, May 26th 7:00pm show. Arrived on time, doors closed, nobody there. Tried to contact via calls, messages and emails, have not received any response. How I’ll get my refund?
Michael Carnes: This place is awesome, good drinks. Awesome performances. If they lowered the volume of the music by 10% it would be flawless.

Ashley Seay: The show was amazing . It was a true delight . As a artist it was also inspiring....Ryan was literally breathtaking dancing to Roaxan.. I wish I could make it to the speak easy . I did not get pictures because I was so vested in the show . However I am posting my two drawings I've done of my two favorite woman dancing.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Hailey Snell: The show, the performers - 5 stars!!!!The food - 2 stars. Entrees are wayyyyyy overpriced for the quality of the food. The appetizers were better. The service - 3.5 stars. I think our server did the best she could, she was clearly very busy, but that meant she wasn’t able to come by our table very often. it was difficult to order more drinks. Maybe they’re understaffed?Overall, next time I think I will just skip the dinner show and go for the late show :)

Irena Harrington: We had been to the boom boom room at its previous location and was expecting a similar show in a bigger venue. We had previously attended the dinner show and had to attend the late show this time as the earlier show was sold out. The late show is definitely different. Every number ends with pasties. There is less mystery and teasing as is usual with burlesque. We truly felt like we were at a strip show instead of a burlesque show. The performances were well done, the choreography was excellent. We were seated directly in front of the speakers and it was so loud we could not tell what song was being played. The audience was drunk, loud, and we were flashed numerous times by members of the audience.Parking: Parking is hard to find and on a main street. All Parking is paid.
Kat Burcar: Last night we attended the Valentines Day event for our anniversary. We had never see a burlesque show and we weren’t so sure what to expect. The whole night was fabulous! The performers, the setting, food and vibes…WOW! Thank you for a memorable night out!
Patricia Carroll: Overall, the food, drinks, and entertainment at the Boom Boom Room combined to create a 💯 unforgettable experience. As a fan of locally owned and black-owned businesses, I'm happy to support this St. Louis treasure. 💪🏽💜Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Douglas Mejia: "Yo Fam, I was recently at an aerial class in St. Charles and overheard one of the other teachers talking about how she and her friends were writing fake bad reviews of the Boom Boom Room in an attempt to ""take down"" the place. Like, seriously??? 🙄 So petty and negative. Despite her negativity, I decided to check out the Boom Boom Room for myself and bring my S/O along. And let me tell you, it was a 🔥 night to remember. The performers were 🔥🔥🔥 and so talented. Way more talented and beautiful than that twenty-something teacher. It's clear that she's just bitter. 😒 One thing that really stood out to me was the food. I had read other reviews that weren't great, but it seems like they've really stepped up their game. My S/O and I had the strip steak and chicken spiendini, which were cooked to perfection and served with creamy mashed potatoes on the side. It was all 🙌🏽."
Samantha Cooper: I'm not one for fancy entertainment, but the Boom Boom Room definitely changed my mind. I'll definitely be coming back for more. Five stars for sure! #boomboomroom #burlesquesupperclubFood: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Kevin Taylor: Yo, I hit up the Boom Boom Room with my boys for a night out and it was off the chain! The show was fire, with some of the most talented burlesque performers I've ever seen. And the food, let me tell you, it was some of the best grub I've had in a minute. I'm talking juicy steaks, finger-licking good fried chicken, and all the fixin's you could want.
John King: Hi ya'll I 'm not one for city slicker entertainment, but the Boom Boom Room definitely converted me. I'll definitely be coming back. Went with my buddies for a night out and boy oh boy, did we have a blast! The show was top-notch, with some of the most talented burlesque performers I've ever seen. And the food, let me tell you, it was some of the best grub I've had in a long time. I'm talking juicy steaks, finger-licking good chicken, and all the fixin's you could want. The server made sure our drinks were always full. What time is it? Shot O'Clock.
David Perkins: Hey y'all! Just wanted to leave a quick review for the burlesque show I went to last night. The show was absolutely dazzling and the drinks were strong (watch out, they definitely pack a punch). Our server Dean was amazing and took great care of us all night. The food was also really good - we got chicken and steak and I'm not sure why people have complained in the past. I asked Dean (we became friends after a few drinks) I heard they had to fire their old chef and hire a new one, so maybe that explains the improvement. All in all, a great night out and I'd definitely fun fun fun.
Michael Wagner: As a self-proclaimed elitist with discerning tastes, I must say that the Burlesque Supper Club exceeded all expectations. The venue, the largest burlesque venue in the county, boasts a level of opulence and grandeur that is truly unparalleled. From the moment we were greeted by the impeccably dressed doorman, we knew we were in for a treat. The ambiance of the Bombshell Bar was electric, with the perfect balance of vintage charm and modern flair. Our server, Dominic, was an absolute delight, expertly navigating us through the menu and making excellent recommendations. The food was absolutely divine, with a wide range of sumptuous options to choose from. And of course, the show itself was nothing short of extraordinary. #thingstodoinsaintlouis #bbrstl

Stephen Edwards: Wasn't too sure about going because I didn't know what to expect. But it exceeded my expectations. The show was sooooo cool. 🔥 And not only that, the food was actually delicious. 🤤 And the drinks were good too and not overpriced. 😍 #burlesque #theater #dinner #show #fun #delicious #drinks #goodtimes #happy #surprised. Sorry, I love hashtags.
Scott Clayton: "Absolutely AMAZING! 🔥 It was our first trip to St. Louis and I wanted to book a dinner show to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Had NO idea about this place. I called and spoke to Brandy, who was extremely helpful in assisting me with making a reservation choice. There are lot's of choices like the dinner choices, the show dates, and special needs, and when we kept adding people to our party, they just made our table larger. 🍴 From start to finish, it was no less than spectacular. 🤩 It is an orgasm of the senses. 💥 Upon walking in, we were greeted by the perfect door lady who was kind, not tough. You start at the front bar, The Bombshell Bar, and get your first drink while Crystal is on the mic wishing people happy celebrations and hyping up the crowd to vintage and electro-swing music. 🎤 Hard to imagine, but it works. 🤔 It is evident that the staff works to make guests feel welcome. Each room has a different vibe and since we were celebrating, we chose front and center for our experience. Dominic, our server, was exceptional. She guided us through both the cocktail and app menu with ease, offering great choices. She was courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient! 🙌 The food was very good. 🤤 The icing on the cake was the incredible burlesque show performing. Madam Molitov, The MC, I highly recommend everything about the burlesque show in St. Louis. 🎉 The catchphrase is, ""the more you drink, the better the show gets."" Makes me laugh, but, you don't have to drink for it to be a great show. 🍻 #burlesque #boomboomroom #stlouis #anniversary #30thanniversary #funnightout #bbrstl"
John Austin: I had an amazzzzzing time at the burlesque show in Saint Louis! The performers were sssssuch talents and the energy in the room was electric. Plus, the drinks were flowing and the crowd was a blast. I'll def be back for another night of fun! And turn of the flash on the cell, they aint about the flash. Either was the table next to us. oops.

Mike Akerly: Completely empty when I arrived, I intended to grab a seat at the bar for dinner and some wine. Not exactly the type of environment one would enjoy a solo dinner in. The host stopped me to gather all of my contact info. I told him I wasn't interested in receiving marketing and he told me "it's required for Covid contact tracing." this was in March of 2023. Consider whether you'll support this type of behavior before joining them.

katie krus: Very disappointing for the amount of money we spent. I am all for spending money on great food but this did not live up to expectations. When we walked in for a 6:00 reservation, there were only 2 other tables full which was a bit alarming to start. We did the 5 course meals and my husband and I each tried different dishes. The menu had great potential but total lack of execution by the kitchen. The drinks had fun names and were presented beautifully with good flavor. The crab croquette was my favorite dish of the whole meal - delicious with the squid ink, however, my husband thought it was a bit too salty. The shaved Foie Gras was pretty good but had a very strange texture with the beets and did not have a good presentation. Kind of looked like slop. The French onion soup was good. The Bibb lettuce salad was below average. I make better salads on a whim at home. Absolutely nothing special about it. Bluefin Carpaccio was supposed to be an uncommon dish so that is why I chose it. It had a very fishy taste and smell, almost looked grey on the dish and had poor presentation. It was my least favorite dish. The waiter told us “the Buttermilk Fried Poussin is the best fried chicken you will ever eat” and also made sure to reiterate it was not pigeon which we found strange. (Of course it’s chicken!). It was decent but nothing near the best fried chicken I’ve ever had and it was difficult to get off the bone - not a ton of meat. My husband ordered the elk chop medium rare and it came out well done and honestly looked pathetic. It looked like a shriveled up piece of meat. Lastly, for dessert I had the beignets. They tasted burnt/over fried and lacked depth in flavor. Very disappointing overall after having this place on my “go to” list for years.

The lamb was by far my favorite and the wagyu my wife got!If you’re doing the tasting, I would expect to pay $100+ per person with drinks, etc. They do have all carte as well if you wanted to get only a few and pay less. However, well worth the experience for a special occasion!

Vicia: what do users think?
Michael Gehman: Beautiful restaurant located in St Louis' Central West End. The food is exquisitely prepared by talented chefs who have a way of turning even seemingly boring vegetables into fabulous entrées and side dishes. Love their focus on local ingredients and huge support of local farms.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Derek Theisen: We did the farmers feast tasting menu. All of the dishes were creative, carefully constructed, and delicious. The fried potato with caramelized onion and the cheesy grits with smoked daikon were real stars of the show. Unique wine menu and great cocktails.Vegetarian options: Only one dish had to be subbed in our tasting for our vegetarian guest and the substitution was just as thoughtful and tasty as the meat option.
Allan Connolly: I hate posting negative reviews, but sometimes you’re left with little choice. I sent the following message directly to the restaurant, but after a month without a reply from Vicia I felt I had little choice.“We had an appalling experience last Saturday while dining at Vicia.  We've eaten at Vicia several times, and enjoyed the prior experiences, but the most recent visit was appalling.   We paid for the elevated wine pairings to go with what we thought would be a tasting menu.Your tasting menu is anything but a menu degustation - it's a three course dinner served family style.  The pairings for the "tasting menu" were a glass of very average white, followed by a very thin Bordeaux, Duc des Nauves.   These are bottles of wine that retail for LESS than $25, and that's retail, not trade.Five of us had the parings, so we had one bottle of white and one bottle of red for the table.  You charged us $250 for wine that you paid well under well under $50.  I get the usual 2x mark up from retail at a restaurant, 3x gets irritating,  but 5x???   That's nothing but insulting - you are exploiting your customers to the point it borders on theft.  I can't begin to imagine what you serve for the base pairing. We raised this issue with your staff, and let's just say they were less than helpful.  Their tone was dismissive, and they repeated over and over again "what do you want us to do?".  First step, don't put this back on the customers. Please understand that we are not serial whiners.  The food was great, but the flagrant price gouging, combined with the poor response from the staff, ruined the experience.”
Michael Snowden: Wow Vicia was a wonderful meal and I am blown away by how affordable it was for 2 people for this quality of food. I’ve been to other places with this level quality and I end up spending over 1000 but not here. Our bartender Tyler was a really nice guy and the wine guy was excellent as well. We did the farmers feast and it was superb. Will definitely be back in the future!

Nidaa Jabbar: Very nice place, staff is nice. When we came to order, they gave us a price of $85 for a Tea three-course meal that they had. When the first course came, one of the entrées was pork, we had told her we are 100% kosher so we can’t have that. So they adjusted my serving to a little arugula salad. Then came second course and they had chorizo inside a sauce and we told them we also can’t have that so they replaced it with two little bit cakes. The only protein we had was two little pieces, upper thigh that was split. Then we got the tab and it was $263 because it was $85 per person. We were never once told it was per person. Well I didn’t want to feel rude or rub my message often anyway, but I did email the restaurant and contacted them through their personal site and they have yet to even respond.

Bradford Sledge: I don’t even know how to review this restaurant. It is not the type I would normally choose for myself, I went with a group. There’s no menu, you get what they serve. It’s heavily vegetarian but there was a little meat. Some of the options were yummy, some were a miss for me. I wouldn’t go back, especially given the price, but if you lean vegetarian and want something different and interesting, this might be just the place for you.

Hyla L: Really disappointed like everything else in st louis, rich people exploit our health. This used to be a reasonably priced, good for your health restaurant. I am sorry, but 100+ dollars for a 4 course meal I don't want is ridiculous. I was supporting this business from the start when they moved, but now I say go back to Cali
Adam Way: A good middle america fine dining experienceFood: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Chef's Tasting, Wine Pairing …More
— “‪Muskrat Steve‬” —: This is a bit higher end than I am used to. We did the tasting option and celebrated our engagement. The food was exceptional. We both enjoyed 95% of what was served and what we didn't like was due to palette preferences and not the quality of the food. The wine pairings were perfect. The staff was amazing. I didn't think the dessert was on the same level as the appetizers and main course but it still tasted well. Ultimately, I hope to return again. I need to have more of those turnip tacos.Vegetarian options: Veggie options were very well done.

R W: One of my favorite downtown bars to frequent at night. I've never tasted there food since I go to the bar at night but I can safely say the bar floor is very modernized artsy. There is a fireplace with a small seating area up some stairs and in that same area is a door that leads to a large patio that has a really cool long table that has the fireplace in the table. There is a VIP area that's somewhat large and the bathrooms stay clean and look very good. The bar is moderately priced and the bartenders have good knowledge on mixed drinks. The dance floor is medium sized and your so close to the DJ you can see exactly what songs there playing on there decks and you can literally put your drink on the DJs counter/booth. Yet I wouldn't recommend that😝
Dusty Ole Dude: The food was fine. We ordered 4 small plates between two of us. Calamari, lobster mac n cheese, fish tacos and short rib sliders.. all great.. the downside was two fold though. First the drinks, we ordered very simple Old Fashioned's and picked our whiskey(Russell's Reserve 10 yr) which arrived bitter and full of mushed fruit. Asked the bartender what was different and he said they use tonic. He remade them and they were even worse. Upside is the waitress saw we didn't drink them and comped them. The worst part was the obnoxiously loud party there. Between the near bare walls of the "industrial" design in the dining area and the drunken revelry of the table next to us, conversation with my date was near impossible.. Add to that the lady who kept barking about birthdays, spring training and heading to the mountains for vacation, it was mostly unbearable. The staff seemed to ignore the impact the 12ish top was having on the other diners. Even when leaving, as staff members were thanking us(I assume) we couldn't hear them speaking to us. Overall, good food..ok pricing.. disappointing experience. Won't be back.
Adro Suggs: Wonderful place to get! The chef is amazing!!!
Natasha Ford: Food was exceptional however there was a mishap with the duck however they made it right and took it off our bill.......
Yvonne S. Sparks: Overpriced and poor service. Trying far too hard on the “trendy” menu resulting in limited choices.
kei lane: We went here for my mom birthday dinner we tried the firecracker shrimp chopped salads the crab cakes and the Cajun pasta definitely not nothing to brag about. We all was hungry leaving after paying $$$ for okay food.
Lacrisha Watkins: Great drinks, and music. Wonderful atmosphere.
Cole Miesner: Best dinner I have ever had. Not exaggerating. My girlfriend and I went there and got the $50 per person Valentine’s Day dinner and it was perfect. Quite a bit of food for the money. Good aesthetic not too fancy so I felt like we belonged there unlike other nicer restaurants.
Vance W: Food was fantastic. Service was slow, but we had a party of 20+ so I am willing to cut them some slack. We were in the backroom... private which was very nice for all, but no character. The other rooms looked great. So a few minor dings but understandable and very positive overall.

Kevin Stein: Our order was taken pretty quickly after we arrived, but then after about 30 minutes we had to ask for our drinks. Then, it took a ridiculous amount of time to get our food and our server was very infrequent in checking on us for drink refills once we did get our food. The restaurant was not busy at all, so there's no reason for the long waits. Also, the food is just okay and very expensive for what you get. I'm not a really picky eater at all, but everything was just blah to me.

Raymond Wendt: Relaxing atmosphere late in the evening at the hotel lobby after an evening in the town.We did not eat at the restaurant, but sat at the bar for some drinks before retiring to the room. The Bartender was friendly, and attentive. Wife got two mixed drinks, I had a local St Louis beer, then ordered a Laphroaig 10 "Neat", and enjoyed it.Later, after looking at my receipt, I realized this is one of the places that has a $3.00 upcharge for ordering "neat." While this is not a common practice in most establishments, apparently it is here at Union 30.Parking: There is no close parking that we could find, but there is valet parking for $50, which is convenient.

Charlita Robinson: Ruined our Valentine’s Day , food was good but the service took toooooo long .. we got there at 7:30 pm didn’t get service to 8:30 pm it took 20 min to get water .. we didn’t leave until 10pm . Everyone was waiting it was a sad experience for the money we paid
Carlin Reed: I need someone to explain to me just what happened, like exactly what was the problem, last night (Valentine's Day). We were left sitting there at our table for 90+ minutes and never saw one crumb of food - NOT ONE SPECK. After taking our order, our server NEVER came back to our table once - not even one time - to check on us. We arrived slightly early, so we had even gotten seated just ahead of our 7:30 reservation, but then once it was after 9:00 we simply had to leave and go scare up some dinner elsewhere. And I know for a fact that there were other couples that also eventually just had to give up and leave. This was just the most absolutely unacceptable, worst service I have ever EVER received in ANY eating establishment ANYWHERE. Just completely ruined our Valentine's Day. Unbelievable. I am actually demanding an explanation as to how this could have happened. Somebody here, I don't know who, but somebody "running" this joint should really be ashamed. Even someone just checking in on us ONCE and explaining that you were backed up or running behind might have helped a little here. Or at least just getting the "Starters" out to us. For example, I can't in my wildest dreams imagine how it was impossible to get just three shrimp and a potato cake out to our table within 90 minutes, even if the rest were going to be delayed. At that point, even some complimentary cheese plate or something that didn't even involve being cooked might have been appropriate. Words just escape me for what an utter and complete disaster you have here that you are portraying as a food restaurant. Please stop. Stop trying to take people's money when you simply cannot deliver. Getting ALL my money back on this, one way or another, and would NEVER EVER step foot in there again. I mean, I am not even someone who takes the time to write up reviews like this. I've been places where you say "Well, they were having a bad night." but you just kind of move on with your life. THIS however was a whole new level of NON-service that I have never seen, so in THIS instance, I am taking the time to warn anyone else who might be tempted - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ATTEMPTING TO EAT AT THIS PLACE. It is taking everything in my power not to use any curse words in writing this. Someone in charge please tell me though - what on earth went on last night - how could it have been THAT bad? Just mind-boggling. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.
Hau Pho: Avoid. No host but sign says wait for seating. Service was fine but a long wait for food when there was only one other table. Prices are higher than what google shows and my halibut was $48 when the restaurant menu showed $38. Halibut was cooked well but was placed on a sopping pile of beets and beets juice. Had to scrap away the beets to save the halibut. French soup was ok and nothing to advertise as a signature dish. Overall food was bland and not worth $100 for one person.
Karissa Adams: I loved eating here! It was such a fun experience. My server was so sweet and the duck confit flatbread and it was so good with the goat cheese. I

Cinder House and Bar: what do users think?
Evia Hodge: Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Shane: Cinder was a nice experience because of the location on the rooftop of the Four Seasons. It has a great vibe but doesn't quite deliver on the service and food end because your expectations are quite high going in. If you go in with that in mind, you won't be too disappointed because sometimes we just overpay for an experience and/or it's convenient. Service was slow. We had steak and scallops and they were cooked well etc but I was done eating my 4 scallops (entire meal) in 2 minutes on a stretch. No sides, nothing. When you pay these prices, you shouldn't leave hungry.
Faith Davis: Amazing place and food. Our server, Glenn, was outstanding the entire time and made my husband and I feel so welcome. The food was beyond anything. The scallops and steak were to die for. The drinks and dessert were amazing as well with a spectacular view! Everything and everyone there was fantastic. The prices were well worth the quality we got.
Norma Arnold: If I could give this establishment 6 stars, I would! Everything we tried was amazing. From drinks, to appetizer, to entree, nothing disappointed! They’re located on the 8th floor of the Four Seasons hotel. Once you know that part, finding the restaurant is easy. The views of the Arch and city from the outdoor seating area are fantastic. I had the PIRI PIRI CHICKEN-Grilled Half Chicken, Manioc Polenta, Preserved Lemon, Sweet Pepper. It was an elevated buffalo chicken dish that left me wanting more even after I had stuffed myself. Absolutely delicious. My Partner had the BUTTERNUT SQUASH RISOTTO- Cashew Cheese, Ginger Mushroom Chimichurri, Toasted Cashews. All good feedback but the Piri Piri Chicken was truly hard to beat! We will definitely find our way back here!
Steve: Incredible! Everything was exquisite! Gotta get the lamb chops. OMGoodnessWheelchair accessibility: Free valet parking if going to the restaurant. Once in the building everything is wheelchair accessible. The bathrooms are accessible, surprisingly they just don't have an automatic door opener.
TR3NDY OFFICIAL: My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who immediately made us feel at home. The positive energy of the people there really added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. We were seated promptly and our server was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Not only did he make great recommendations from the menu, but he also went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was exceptional. The food itself was fantastic - every dish was beautifully presented and delicious, and it was clear that the chefs put a lot of care and attention into each plate.Overall, we had an amazing time at this restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special dining experience. The combination of good staff, warm welcoming, and positive people truly made our anniversary celebration even more special. We can't wait to come back again!
Robin Ingersoll: Food was great, service was just ok for not being very busy. The view was worth it thoughFood: 3/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Moqueca Seafood Stew, Cinder House Burger, Risotto …More
Erin Gohil: Vegetarian dishes and views are amazing! Our server was very busy but was such a nice gentleman and served us excellent cocktails! Our server seemed to be a bit off putting and I’m not sure why but that aside we will be back again.Parking: Garage that felt very safe.Wheelchair accessibility: Elevator and plenty of space to be accessible.Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating to any and all needs.

Michelle Bristow: Brinch menu leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered the wagu beef with eggs. There were 8 small pieces of wagu beef and 4 were solid fat, which I wouldn’t eat. There were 2 fingerling potatoes cut up and a lot of chilies. My two brunch mates were not impressed with their eggs Benedict either. The continental portion was very smalland lacked much choice. The waitstaff was spectacularFor $40 per person plus drinks, I expected better than this.
Tonya Boyd: I'm not going back.Food: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
David McBee: Fantastic atmosphere, food and service. Everything was wonderful.
Benjamin Powell: I really wanted to love this place, and while the food was good, it just wasn’t quite what it promised to be. Our lead server tried to sell us a bottle of champagne or wine four times throughout the meal, even when we indicated we were only interested in one cocktail (on a Wednesday.)The Brazilian cheese balls were a delight - the best bite of the night. Everything else was well executed, it just felt like the entire staff was joyless in their roles, and phoning it in. I want to go back for brunch to take in the downtown views, but probably won’t come back for dinner.
Willie “WillIsrael” Adams: An amazing place to enjoy life. Food was above perfect. Everything about this place is perfectFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Hana M (Hana): Extremely over priced and meat portions are not even enough. I was still hungry after my meal. Place is beautiful. Service was over too much made me feel uncomfortable. Bartender was not very hygienic while making drinks and he was not dressed properly up to four seasons standard.
Jonathan Schleyer: Spectacular meal and service. The vegetarian and gluten-free options are fantastic. My meat lover friends love this spot too. The food was incredibly pleasurable not just from a taste perspective but also aesthetically. Sommelier Ayesha was top notch and delightfully attentive (she even remembered what we ate the night before!?!?!). The hen of the woods mushrooms are insane, the manioc goat cheese polenta may have stolen the show and the gem salad so fresh and crisp. The blue corn grits with veggies is pretty great too. Oh and the Brigadeiro for dessert felt authentic as I had been in Brazil the week before. The spirit menu is very robust which is not common especially if you like fancy scotches.
Brien Bednara: Expensive but delicious. Excellent service and an incredible atmosphere. Need an exceptional experience for a special occasion, have dinner at Cinder House.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Dia's Cheese Bread, Lamb Ribs …More

Vin De Set: what do users think?
Eric Farson: Fantastic experience. The food and service here are some of the best in St. Louis. Period. Everyone was friendly - the host, waitress, and manager. I have never experienced this before at any restaurant in St. Louis. They really went above and beyond. I got the seabass and it was amazing. The patio is fantastic and also one of the best in St. Louis. I will be back once they reopen!
Eyreka Peterson: Edited 9/19/2022 to add that it is not shocking that this placed caught fire. Like I said below, major systemic issues.I wasn't going to write a review, but the service I received on a Friday evening (8/26/22) was so bizarre I've been thinking about it all weekend. I called the Thursday prior to inquire about reservations for 3:00 p.m. drinks and dinner. I was assured that it would be so slow at 3 that reservations would not be needed. I arrived at 3 p.m. with a party of 4 and no one was in the lobby or bar area so we waited around. A woman came through the door from outside on a mission and stopped in her tracks and asked "do you need something". Not rude, but certainly not kind. We explained we were there for drinks and dinner and she let us know there was no waitstaff to help us yet. Cool, I've worked food service before, I know how it goes right at opening. We asked if we could start with drinks and apps and were directed with a curt finger that it was outside. The bartender asks if we're going to order drinks and food, we say yes and order. We start towards the tables in the dining area and the bartender tells us we should sit in the bar area so she can bring out our apps. I let her know I need to sit at a low top table and there are none in the bar area. We proceed to sit at the table closest to the bar in the dining area. We are only there for a few minutes before she comes over to tell us that the table is reserved. There are zero people in the dining area. It's 3:20 p.m. I let her know that we're planning on ordering dinner and that I can't sit in a high top table. She assures us she has something over in her section. She seats us at a cheap cabana couch, directly in the sun (it's 98 degrees out) out on the deck. It has a tiny table that our drinks and apps barely fit on. We are boiling. We finish our apps and drinks and decided not to stay for dinner (because how even at that table). As we're leaving there are 2 tables seated in the dining area. No reason for us to have been moved. The drinks were great, the food that we had was delicious, the service was the absolute strangest thing I've ever come across. I'm willing to make excuses for 1 person having a tough afternoon and providing subpar service - it happens. When it's multiple people and multiple instances - that's systemic.
Brittany Griffith: Many thanks to Mike and the manager for making our day. The service was good and prompt. See you again soon :)
Malcomn Roach: Still a good place for Sunday brunch. Prime rib is awesome
beautybyraelynn: The women at reception was insanely rude to my group. I felt like I was dreaming… she ruined our evening from the moment we walked in. I never write reviews but I couldn’t help myself.
Ryan Daigle: Always a delicious meal. We've been going here for about 12 years and they always impress!
D M: Absolutely perfect brunch. Danita was our wait staff person today and she was wonderful!
Salvatore Scotto: Nice place, good dinner, staff friendly.
Issa Lifestyle 1: There was mouse droppings on the table. No one working there even attempted to cleaned it up. Horrible first impression. The hostess working Sunday 8/28 around 10:15am did not greet us when we arrived, she said something to a server then continued to eat her bacon. I said "hello" and she replied, "Can I help you?". Immediately I felt the quality of the experience sink to fast food level. I let her know we were there for brunch she asked "Do you have a reservation?" "No we do not." She shoveled the last of her bacon into her mouth, grabbed 2 menus with her hands she just put in her mouth and walked away. We reluctantly followed hoping to recover the ambience of the experience but at this point we are already not feeling welcome. We were guided through a small bar area and sat near a window in the back of the room. Immediately we noticed the droppings on the table, but the hostess had already gone back to the host stand. We never even sat down. I walked back to the host stand to bring the issue to the bacon eating hostess' attention to which she said 'it isn't feces or else we would be shut down'. I advised her that was exactly why I came to tell her instead of taking a picture. Her reply was "Go ahead take a picture cause it's not that." I replied,"OK I will." The person I was with had to ask for a different table, it was not offered to us by the hostess. She said 'the only other space I have is this or that', pointing toward a table in the corner by the door of the room we had just left. We walked over to the table ourselves. As I noticed she was not going to formally seat us, so I took it upon myself to retrieve the menus we left at the poop table and of course to take the photos of the mouse droppings on the table and in the window seal as suggested by the hostess (see attached). It took us about 10 minutes to find a different place to go for brunch; the entire time no one attempted to investigate or clean up the mess we reported. As we left the manager tried to speak to us but it was too late. I couldn't leave that place fast enough. People deserve to have a choice what environment their food is in especially during pandemic times. Definitely looks like rat sh't!!! I will not return.
Michael Wallace: Weather made it perfect. Their rooftop experience is top notch. And their servers are attentive
Jim Williamson: Rooftop bar with a view of the arch
Grant Young: Just stepped out of Vin De Set and couldn’t have been more displeased. We showed up at open, after being advised to do so on a Friday as it will get busy. So we showed up and got ignored until we told the hostess we’d like to have a drink and apps. After being pointed to the bar, through the window, we headed over. One party doesn’t deal well with high top chairs, so we headed to a 4 too under shade after being told “I won’t be able to give you service but that’s okay, I’ll till serve you”So we sat in the shade and maybe 3 minutes later we’re told the entire area was reserved and we had to sit in the sunniest area of the roof top. Had we not ordered, we would have left. This was the oddest and most uncomfortable experience I’ve had in any restaurant, not just in St Louis. If you want bad service, rude staff, and to be lied to, accompanied with honestly good food and cocktails - this is your spot.
Suzie Scrivner: This is my second time here. The food is great! Courtney our server and Bryson the bartender were wonderful. The woman at the hostess stand made me feel like I was intruding. She even came to me and my table at the end of the night to let me know that they were closing at 10. I did not see her tell any of the other patrons that they were closing. I will not come back to this place. We spent over $500 and felt like we were being kicked out early. There were four of us. We asked who she was and were told her name was Sharee. We still had full drinks and desserts. Please put a smile on your face when you are greeting customers. Don’t make them feel like they are not welcome.
Beverly: What happened? Last year we had a lovely birthday dinner with wonderful food; the set menu was fabulous, and the staff were incredibly attentive. This year it was just… bad. The baked brie with strawberry-basil marmalade would have benefited from a more generous serving of the marmalade, but that was forgivable. The coq au vin was absolutely flavorless and dry—confusing given that the dish is literally cooked in red wine. Interestingly, it was served on the same dish shape as the steak even though there was liquid on the dish (still somehow flavorless). The veggies were reminiscent of those served in an elementary school cafeteria. The strip steak was overdone, and the best that I can say about it is that it can be used in leftovers. (Un)happy birthday!
Janeth Hernandez: We had the steak and frites very disappointing. The steak was so fatty and tasted like burnt rubber. Drinks were bland and below average. Prices are far too high for the quality of food. We’ve even been here twice because we really wanted to like it since it is walking distance from our house. Never leave reviews but felt like I should.
Steve McCormick: I feel like it is overpriced. $33.00 / person for a 3 course brunch. They used to have a brunch buffer that was worth 33.00. The service was excellent.
Coleen Hill: Excellent staff, food and rooftop view! One of my very favorite St Louis restaurants. We have not had a bad meal yet. Also wonderful desserts!
cufta05: We dropped in based on a Google search on restaurant with a terrace. Also, we thought it would be possible to order a coffee because of the French restaurant. Unfortunately, our thinking was wrong. The quality of the coffee was terrible. The service was bad. The employees together with the manager did not seem to know where to put us. We wandered around to find an area for "coffee drinkers". The manager who was on duty did not care when we told her that the coffee was terrible. Overall C-Coffee 1.5/10Service 5.5/10
Cheryl Andrews: Great food and service
Mark Leibu: Probably better for dinner. Sunday brunch, so and vs so
Eric W Thompson: Good view outside on the roof. Fine food with attentive service. Prime rib was awesome.

James Daly: Great local farm to table restaurant - food was amazing and staff are very accommodating, lucky to have such a fine establishment in our neighborhood.
Nathan Matthai: Farmhaus is one of our absolute favorites in the Saint Louis area. They offer a unique menu of incredible dishes that are rotated on a normal basis. Highly recommended place to try at least once and add to your list of restaurants!
Tina Snyder: My husband and I had dinner at the Farmhaus in St. Louis. I called first to see what they were serving. It occupies a storefront in a neighborhood much like where I lived as a kid. It was nostalgic. We ordered the chef’s tasting menu. The tasting menu is reasonably priced at $75. There was an optional wine pairing supplement. We didn’t choose that option. We started with an interesting small cheese plate; an emulsified sharp cheese and fresh green peas, lavosh, and an in-house made coppa. 😋 The tasting menu included halibut and sirloin. The first course was white asparagus with morel butter sauce. 😋The second was halibut, crusty on the outside and flaky inside. The chef plated the fish atop slices of in-house-made knockwurst, a small portion of rich spoon bread, and green asparagus, all topped with a buttery hot sauce. Though it doesn't sound like the ingredients go together, the combination was tasty. The sirloin was a bit too chewy. But by then, I was full and well-satisfied with the meal. It was delicious. ❤️I’m not a fan of meat in general, so consider that. Even so, I don't think one meat cut diminished the meal. All that said, we want to eat at Farmhaus again. The gracious host doubled as a server and described the dishes in mouth-watering details that included sourcing the ingredients. Many thanks to my brother for suggesting this place.
Beth Remillong: We had a great dinner! We did the chef's pre-fixe menu, and everything was wonderful. Tracy Wiggenhorn: Wonderful attentive service, excellent food. I don't normally get dessert, but I had to try the pot de creme. I was so glad that I did! It was amazing.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

TGA: I drove down to the Boind’ry last night ( June 10, 2022 ) for drinks and dinner and a great time because it’s not only an after work businessman v bar but a mix of wealthy and not so wealthy clientele and sadly it was closed with 4 or 5 guys sitting in the bar talking who I am assuming we’re the owners.Come on guys do NOT shut Boundry down forever because I can tell you better that anyone what made your restaurant / bar the “it spot” for so many years and standing room only most nights in the bar….it was the super cool bartenders like Bruce doing magic tricks and all the other cool bartenders and attractive wait staff that poured great drinks and bartenders were all very entertaining!A bartender can either make or break a bar environment!Any problems of lost customers can be directly attributed to losing colorful charismatic bartenders so hire some great bartenders and open again and word will spread like wildfire and the line of crowds will be down the block again waiting to get in!Some restaurants have free hors d’oeuvres or shrimp or taco bar but none of that matters! What does matter is your bartenders!Years ago at TGI Friday on Ellison Place they had the best bartenders in town doing juggling tricks with bottles the bartenders nickname was Psycho! LolWonderful memories … same for Boundry! So stop obsessing over the menu and get the best bartenders and friendliest and funny and attractive bartenders possible and the Biundry will be the now “it spot” again for another 20 years!
Da Dao: probably my FAVOURITE restaurant I have ever dined in! an absolutely incredible meal prepared and cooked just the way I asked!
Pamela R.: The dining experience was first class. The environment is visually beautiful with an old world elegance styled with modern lighting and decor that instantly makes you excited for what's to come next. Our wait staff were excellent, fun, and knowledgable about the dishes. Our partners chose Boundary after the ladies lost a bet at Top Golf, but honestly I feel like we won too! The food was presented beautifully and served at the appropriate temp. We are smitten with this place and highly recommend it to anyone who longs for a true "dining experience"!
José Alejandro: Good food, excellent service and drinks! I can’t wait until it’s open again!
67catbrown: Top notch place and the food was delish!!! The bloody mary bar YUM!!! a meal in it self and soooo worth the price!!!
Sandra Marie Vago: Lauren and Keith behind the bar were so nice and helpful and the Shrimp Cocktail was huge shrimp on a beautiful platter of ice. Great wine, beautiful bar, lovely atmosphere!
Katelyn Hindsley: Great Spot for Brunch! Love the atmosphere and the brunch burger is amazing.
Kaci Goldinher: Great atmosphere great food great service! Will be back :-)
Jessica Clark: Chicken and waffles for brunch were on point! I don’t like bloody Mary’s but the bar looked amazing! We were seated in the back which was a little dark but overall very enjoyable! And you can’t go wrong with Kaldis coffee
Brent Lenny: Nice place, great whiskey selection, contemporary, a little pricey.
Robert Cleary: Very disappointed. We arrived at 8:30 ( they close at 9). The doors were locked. And when we got in after someone left, we were told that they would not or could not serve us. WTF. If I could give 0 stars I would. I know we arrived close to closing time, but if the sign says closes at 9, I would expect to be served u til then.
Kay X-M: I booked a Christmas dinner with some friends. When we drove up, I saw a valet sign, it turns out that it is complimentary which was really great - this really helps with wet weather. The space is beautiful. It looks pretty similar to the former "The Restaurant" but with overall hipper ambiance. When we got it, my friends were already seated at our table, a wonderful, heavy round table near the kitchen. There were a lot of people there, the fireplace was going and it was an excellent setting. The menu consists of mainly elevated comfort food. They have some salads but the good stuff is all fairly gluttonous. Our server was really excellent, we didn't wait for anything. The food was really good, we all ordered some different things and everyone was happy with their meal. It is a beautiful space, great food, and service, and I look forward to going back.Apart from a large gathering – some of yah list items are:Pros:1) Happy Hour Specials 4-6pm2) Poutine. It comes with a Fried Egg! And very large to share3) Oyster Rockefeller - love the creamy kale4) Mac n. Cheese Side5) CocktailsOverall, they have a solid selection of cocktails, beer and wine. If you like Basso then give Boundary a try on your next outing.
Kerry Henry: This was the best restaurant I've ever been to.
Tania Williams: Its really hard to give them a 3 but there are a few reasons. We've been few times just the 2 of us, but also large groups. This is the 1st time I have to make a not so good review. I would have done it in person but no one was around when we left. We went Sunday for February Birthday's in the family.1. Before I made the reservations I called and asked if they can accommodate a vegan. They said "sure, we have a few things." .....2 hours before our reservations the hostess calls and says "i was told to call you and tell you we only have fruit & muffins" for vegan..... guess what!!! They did make a vegan hash for my step daughter that was good and no issues. So why do call and make the hostess do that?Also2. When I called and made the reservations for 130 for Sunday brunch they had no problem, when she called about the above they also said the kitchen closes at 2 and would be best for us to out our order in as soon as we got there. Well, guess what again, the waitress didn't get our order in till almost 2. With that being said our waitress was really nice but there was a food mix up on a few plates, easily corrected but still.I did apologize to the hostess as I was very upset and frustrated with the phone call 2 hours before. When it wasn't her fault, I'd like to know why the manager or whoever asked her to call and make a big deal out of something to the customer 2 hours before a large party. It really made us feel like we weren't welcome and we were a bother. I'm sure we will be here again but NOT with a group with a few hundred dollar bill.
RLV: Historical
Terrell Whitener: Good quality, very eclectic menu. Reasonable prices.
Charlene Mccray: It was my friend and I 1st time there, and we loved it. Great service, and nice laid back atmosphere.
SE Gifford: Many good features, but surprisingly......While the large, well-appointed room was lovely and the staff was very nice, the food was decidedly mediocre. We ordered three brunch items: the blueberry pancakes, the ozark mushroom omelette, and the brisket hash. The blueberry pancakes were the best at "pretty good" - crispy ends, covered in lemon curd, no need for syrup. While St. Louis knows and loves its Ozark mushrooms, the omelette somehow lacked taste. Even with goat cheese & caramelized onions it didn't have a lot of flavor (I don't typically add salt to food but had to in this case) and the texture was on the rubbery side. It came with a "fresh salad" that had both the look and taste of Dole bagged salad: a little bland and sad. We let our server know this. She was attentive and offered to replace it with another side, but at that point we weren't interested in more of this food because, lastly, the hash. St. Louis knows brisket, which is why the tough cubed chunks of meat and very well-cooked squash were a bit of a surprise. Slow-cooked or well-bbqed brisket doesn't cut into cubes that way or taste that way.The coffee was good and our fellow customers seemed very pleased with the bottomless mimosas and bloody marys.
Sarah Holloway: Mimosa bar is awesome
