Terrell Carter: My favorite place to exercise and learn self defense. Through Bryan's training, I eventually lost 20 lbs. The atmosphere is supportive, yet challenging.
Benjamin Pursley: I recently visited Bryan Guidry's gym as my first experience with BJJ. As a beginner, a skinny guy, and having recently turned 30 I had lots of reasons to potentially feel intimidated. The gym was exceptional, Dan the instructor of my classes, was positive and knowledgeable. The culture of the gym was great. The hot sauna is a nice extra. After my first month I was unable to train due to changes in my health insurance and work schedule. When I had issues with my billing, Bryan was quick to respond and to resolve the issue.I have nothing but positive things to say. If you can afford it, it's a fantastic place to learn. A+++
Megan Grantom: Great gym with friendly and patient coaches :) Dan, Bryan, Lee, and Maurice all do a great job teaching the different techniques and keeping things fun.
Aden Valento: Very welcoming for new members like myself with no Martial Arts background.Professor Dan is not only great at Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, but a great person as well.Everyone training is very helpful and welcoming.I was treated as if I had known them for years and were great friends. There’s cardio equipment, sauna, showers and more. They also offer kids classes.Doesn't matter your age or if you're out of shape or whatever excuse...I would highly recommend if you're interested in the path to becoming a better version of yourself.
John Meehan: Bryan is great as well as Dan and the rest of the coaches. Good mix of STL city. Very diverse gym, a number of law enforcement members train here as well. Very welcoming to new students, and a good mix of men and women. Definitely recommend to anyone. Not only jiu jitsu, but there’s cardio equipment, sauna, showers, anything you need to get a quick workout in.Also kids classes look fun. Definitely come visit!
Greg Crawford: Great place to train bjj. They have plenty of classes to fit into any schedule. Brian and all of the instructors are very friendly and helpful. There is a sauna and work out equipment as well to make this place a one stop shop for fitness. I'm glad I found this place.
Comedy Suplex: Great atmosphere for those new to jiu jitsu. North Broadway has a ton of classes with excellent teachers.
Matthew Song: Pretty much the awesomest gym ever.
Evelynn Waterbelly Johnson: Low student-teacher ratio. Welcoming atmosphere for men, women and children to learn in. Great pricing.

Watson Martial Arts: what do users think?
Jacob Rich: I was visiting St. Louis and dropped into a couple classes at Watson Martial Arts. Everyone was very kind to me and their fellow teammates. Not only is the gym enormous, full of amenities and very clean, but the instruction here is unmatched. I enjoyed the gamification of learning and personalized approach to gaining new skills. If I lived in within an hour of St. Louis it would be a no brainer to train here.
James Randorff: I was visiting St. Louis on business (coming from North Chicago), and I asked my coach if he had a gym recommendation in the area. Without hesitation, he recommended Kyle Watson’s gym. I got in touch with Kyle, and he invited me to join in any of their classes while I was in town, without requiring a mat fee.The gym facilities are very nice and kept clean. The culture of the coaches and students is very healthy and respectful, with no egos at all. Everyone is there to learn, to help, and to have fun.I attended two classes and learned a lot I did not know about collar-and-sleeve open guard. I got to train and roll with quite a few excellent folks, and picked up several good tips from Kyle as he walked around the gym.If you are ever in St. Louis and looking for a place to train, I give Watson Martial Arts my highest recommendation!
lucas wilcox: Dropped in for a advanced BJJ class while I was in town. Very friendly staff and students. Great instruction!
Lauren Clark: Great gym with great ownership. Highly recommend
Rich Sholar: 👐
David Smith: I was visiting St. Louis from Vancouver and looking for a place to train while I was in town. Kyle and the team at Watson couldn't have been better hosts. They have built a fantastic gym and culture and I would absolutely recommend Watson to anyone regardless of skill level.
Kody Flamm: I joined the free Muay Thai lesson yesterday and wow - what a great experience. Kyle was extremely nice & helpful. To say it was a great workout is an understatement! I’d highly recommend this gym - this is such a great place to be introduced to the huge world of martial arts. You will not regret learning these valuable lessons and you get a great sense of accomplishment when you’re done. I’ll be trying out BJJ next week and I cant wait. Props to everybody involved! Very beginner friendly gym.
Tj Muncy: While traveling to the area from Florida I was able to drop in for a class while in town. Friendly group of people and nice facilities. Great instructor’s, nice details while teaching and very helpful. I had a great experience. Thanks Kyle for letting drop in.
Ali Boussaffa: I was in business trip to St. Louis and picked Watson Material Arts gym to work out during my stay. I was impressed by the hospitality of Kyle who welcomed me and give a tour, everything was clean an organised, coaches very knowledgeable, very professional staff. I highly recommend Watson MMA.
Jason Stewart: Great people very welcoming a wealth of knowledge on that mat I appreciated the time
Charles Harriott: I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful facility in St Louis as a guest instructor and was not disappointed. Owner Kyle Watson has built a massive professional gym. From striking to fitness to grappling it's all under one roof in a laid-back environment. His students are fun and welcoming. There are all levels from beginner to expert with a large number of black belts on the mat. I enjoyed my visit especially my roll with Kyle and hope to be back soon.
Gerard Albo: Visiting St Louis for work and was honored to train with Professor Matt! Awesome gym, great vibes, great training, highly recommended!! Thanks again for having me 🙏
Lucas Mooney: My friends and I dropped in for a no gi class about two weeks ago while on a road trip. The facility was amazing and the instructor was welcoming and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this gym for anyone in the St.Louis area!
Vincent Harvey: Dropped in for a midday class. Good facility (lots of mat space, showers) and great instruction details. Will come back next time I'm in town
jeremy fernandez: If you want to learn jiu-jitsu in the St Louis area this is the place for you. The instruction is always very well thought out with a healthy balance of technique and dad jokes. Everyone in the room is very helpful and welcoming whether you're brand new or have been training for years.
Praveen Prabhakar: Been training here for about 4 months now. The facility and the instructors are great. Everybody is very friendly. They have beginner classes as well so it's easier to learn the basics. One of the best places to train and learn in St. Louis.
ELIAS HADDAD: Cool dudes
Josh Raben: Great people, with a welcoming team atmosphere, and some tough rolls. For any new comers there's a beginners class so don't be worried about coming in!
Leonard Johnson: Been here going on 3 years: Great atmosphere, great training partners, great training, great coaches. Definitely worth checking out.
Alets Gomez: I was on a work trip in St Louis and had a tournament a week later and did not want to miss any training sessions, so I called WMA and spoke to Kyle, he was great from the start, I arrived there and everyone was awesome, from Kyle, to Devlin, and all of the training partners, there is definitely great level in the Gym and everyone is willing to help. Whenever I'm back in St Louis will definitely return to WMA. Btw Thanks Kyle for the support!!
Guille J: I have been a part of Watson’s martial arts for about two months now. It is such a welcoming and encouraging environment. My favorite thing about the studio is the great amount of different classes available. You can come and stay there all afternoon if you would like! Professor Kyle takes his time to personally get to know every student and it is clear that he is very knowledgable in martial arts. Other students are also very friendly and I have never encountered any issues. If you are thinking about trying it out: Stop thinking about it and come check it out!

Absolute Martial Arts: what do users think?
Catherine Adlon: Our son has been enrolled in the youth karate at Absolute Martial Arts for the past 18 months and has grown in his skills, confidence and behavior. The instructors are knowledgeable, professional and respectful to all participants and families. We could not be more pleased with the continued progress our son is making each week. We would highly recommend Absolute Martial Arts to anyone looking for instruction.
Sarah S: This a great gym with wonderful instructors! They have a very welcoming environment and everyone is great about helping you progress.
Rebecca Dilbeck: This is an amazing gym filled with people who just want to see you achieve your goals and succeed
Sam Norwood: Love this class for my daughter!
Brandon Kallogjeri: This is my favorite gym in Saint Louis. I joined here 2 years ago and they have the best instructors and students ever. The environment is very welcoming and everyone is very friendly. The instructors care about your growth in martial arts whether you’re going just for fun or looking to compete they are supportive in whatever your personal goals are. So whether you are joining to just get a good cardio workout, learn self defense for real life situations or work on your growth as a martial artist to be able to compete in competitions this is the place in Saint Louis to go to.
Nick Crabtree: I been going here for years and always been a great experience. Very family oriented, and now my daughter attends the karate classes. It has helped her with her confidence, and she is more focused. Wonderful trainers with tons of patience and knowledge. Can't say enough good things.
Nicholas Marty: I love it here! Super comfortable atmosphere and fantastic instructors for every skill level.
Niel Stender: Such a great experience over the years with Ana, Keith, Eric and the rest of the Absolute team. With both the adult jiu jitsu and kick boxing classes and kids karate - all 3 of the loved it. Everyone is very respectful and makes you feel welcome regardless of skill level. Highly recommend Absolute Martial Arts!
B Qube: Amy was very good. We just went for a trail to see if my son was ready and we were very impressed with just what we saw the first time being there.
Travis S: We started our 7 year old (who’s not really into traditional sports) here 6 months ago, and happy to say he loves it! The instructors are great with kids, and aside from karate, they teach them discipline and respect. This is a very inclusive atmosphere and we highly recommend.
Charles: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThis is a great school. Flexible class schedules, quality instructors, friendly and clean environment. Keith and Ana alwaysmade me feel welcomed. I appreciated the opportunity to train here.
Stephanie Simmons: My grandson love he said he is ready.Anna is a great person love how she work with the kids and give postive thoughts to the kids
Jake Foster: Our son loved his first day! We will be back indefinitely. I can't wait to see him grow with the skills he will be learning.
Chad Howland: The atmosphere is positive, diverse & inclusive. I did martial arts most of my life & chose this as the school for my 3 daughters. A large student base means there's always a partner to relate with & the staff is welcoming, encouraging hard worth with a family style vibe. Be ready to be greeted at the door by Ana (karate sensei ) when you walk in. Master Brock is always tentative & involved, overseeing all class work, offering hands-on constructive feedback that is welcomed by students. Even the Muay Thai instructor Eric makes students smile as they sweat. Safety Covid measures are consistent & professional.Be ready to work hard, roll, spar, sweat & commit to a better you with amazing people.
gary williams: Loved our first introduction. My kids talked about it all night. My son "said he was now in Cobra Kai" lol
Charles C Box: Great Grandson loves it
Don: I was a member of Absolute back in 2007 when it was located on Kingshighway. I trained under Master Keith Brock for about a year before having to stop due to family issues, but learned so much during that time. Master Brock, along with other great trainers, pushed me everyday and gave me the knowledge and confidence to compete and win my first and only MMA bout just 8 months into training. Would have loved to continue! The fact that the school is still so successful to this day, shows the quality and integrity of those involved in teaching martial arts to the St. Louis community. I truly miss the atmosphere there, and miss competing. I greatly appreciated the experience!
gwen oliver: It's a place for children
Nicole McKinney: My husband, my two kids, and myself signed up with Absolute at the end of this summer to try something new as a family and wow, what an amazing impact it has had on us all. Not only have we become stronger physically but we have become stronger as a family. I won’t go into all the mushy details but in my opinion, it’s a good idea to start here if you’re on a path to better yourself or those you love.
Jason Grieshaber: Great program. My 8 year old loves it!

River-City MMA: what do users think?
Will Hampel: Eric, Craig, and Matt take a personal interest in any student who walks through their doors and wants to put in the work. Eric Clarkson offers some of the highest level No Gi training available in the St. Louis area and does not allow anything less than 100% effort from all of his students, regardless of your level of training or athleticism. If you live in South City or surrounding areas come try a class!!!
Vision: I train Jiu Jitsu in there and I can say in short amount of time I improved my self defense incredibly. Everyone is friendly and the best part is you get to test your skills every time you go there.
Jimmy Conway: Great coaches, very knowledgeable in mixed martial arts and self defense. I highly recommend this type of training when you don't want to carry a gun or other weapons!
James Graff: Great coach. Great place to train!!
Brad: Wouldn’t let me put this w/o a rating but can any1 tell me the PRICES on training, monthly or daily pricing if both.
Malik Luckett: I love River City worried because the boxing in the hard work 💪🏾
Majin MMA: I have been to most of the gyms in Saint Louis, Including Finneys MMA, Absolute Martial Arts and etc. I have to say that this is the best gym I have ever trained at and I am still training till this day even had a tournament and placed 2nd not to long ago. The instruction is top tier and everyone there is so nice and is welcome to any new comers with open arms. They treat you like family and not just someone to fill up their pockets and its proven in the instruction and the level of comfort between the members and the coaches. If you want to compete this is the gym for you or for your everyday average joe or joanne and if you need somewhere for your children to train this is the place as well and they are also affiliated with St.Louis Fitness Club so you are able to workout there 24 hours. By far the greatest I have ever experience in my 4-5 years of training
