The Great Food Exposition: what do users think?
Jim Frehley: It used to be better. Took advantage of Prime Time promo so lunch buffet cost about $8/PP. Went around 1pm and fairly busy. Food on par with Golden Corral with better atmosphere. Sushi bar replaced with cold cuts. House made ice cream is gone. Mac and cheese not good today. Corn on the cob big time overcooked. I love shrimp and they're on the buffet but they just aren't good. Rarely do I see someone get shrimp which would normally be a big mover. Gooey butter was almost all crust. Definitely wouldn't pay normal price. EDIT/ADD Sadly, this eatery was a casualty of the pandemic. Closed for good.
Micheal Brown: When is this place going to open back up. It's been long enough ya think.
Andrea Vincent: The best! From breakfast to lunch and brunch. My husband and I are so saddened that it has temporarily closed. We question if it will ever reopen.
Rob Bob: Time to open back up.
WEAPON XVII: They are not worth it for 27.99 and they don’t have enough food options to choose from.
Magon Lunnemann: I dont recommend this placeat all. They should have public health inspection for food handling/ sanitation. What I witnessed was nstead of changing the salad bar with fresh toppings, the worker just flicked all food that was dropped on the ledge of the salad bar to back to the correct bowel on the salad bar.. just think how long the food has been on the edges, who all come in contact with the food. This is why people people sick from restaurants. We told a hostess, it seemed like she wasnt concerned about the issue at all! . After I witness how they employee handle the food I will would not recommend this place to noone negative 10 for rating
Nathan Ralston: A great place to eat.
Lisa Schnieders: Went on christmas eve 2019 , what a disappointment! Food was horrible , shrimp tasted old and chewy . Meat was dried out . The soup was stuck to sides of pan looked like it had been sitting for who knows hows long . The buffers area was dirty and not kept up . SO DISAPOINTED COULD OF WENT ELSEWHERE FOR CHEAPER AND MUCH BETTER . THANKS FOR THE BAD CHRISTMAS LUNCH
Cindy Gamewell: This was once a great buffet. Who ever heard of Deli meat on a the dinner buffet. Sushi is now only Wendsday and Friday. All the food is a down grade from what it once was. Very disappointing. With the price you pay it should be much better.
Sunni Odle: The food was not the quality it was advertised to be. Very disappointing. Will not go back. Waitress was great.
Stan Bray: 2 for 1 buffet for seniors on Tuesday with prime rib and some other types of food.
Jim May: It seems like the food on seniors night is not as good as it is on other nights.
Dan row: Always something good
Tyrone Beamon: Nice buffet to hang out with good company.
Darcella Craven: Food was dry, cold and way too salty. The service was terrible. Very slow and nearly every one there behaved like we were inconveniences.
Black & White Roofing: Yum
Diana Sandefur: Go hungry because there's a lot to choose from
alton johnson: No complaints!
Jeff Rebhan: Under staffed also food is not what it used to be. Not saying it's bad but there are better places
Christine Mitchell: OM-GREAT food! Even if you don't gamble you can enter the main entrance and enjoy a lovely buffet experience. Seniors (50) are half price on Tuesdays😉
Frank Merz: Something for everyone

Mr. Currys India Restaurant - Downtown St. Louis: what do users think?
Big Jum: Spicy
j ejh: Very tasty buffet. Decent variety. Lunch is $10 or $11. Customer service is good. However, parking is limited and the restaurant is a bit dark and outdated
Ap Hoc: Extremely disappointing they was closed on a thursday,I drove on my lunch break only to find out it was not open.
Billy Moran: Really good buffet choices, as well as chutneys. They rotate their dishes, so you are not always getting the same things. And they always have a good selection of veggie items as well. The environment is a bit lackluster and could use some sprucing up, but I go for the food, so...
JS: Go for a one and done experience. Can't even hold a candle to a decent 2 star Indian Restaurant. I can't recall when was the last time i was presented with Indian food that was anything but. I was appalled at the buffet choice and some one said it was mediocre and that's an understatement. It is far from mediocre to the point that it is a one and done experience for anyone looking for an authentic Indian food. Not one of the buffet items were presentable and looked like they were cooked in a hurry or burnt. I am sorry I am not sure how people can give 4 stars. I have dined in far better Indian restaurants which have 2-3 stars minimum. This is just an honest review from someone who knows Indian food quite a bit and even folks who are not Indian but have experienced good Indian food may find this place quite disappointing.
LIFEOFNE MWAH: Nasty
Ishola Ojelade: Curry foods is good for memory.
Keshava Mysore: The usual Indian lunch buffet seen all across the US in Indian restaurants, primarily North Indian food. Quality was mediocre at the best. But who doesn’t liked buffets! It was full, the service was so-so as well, just like quality. Almost all the stuffs were ok except for the dessert, it was really bad.
J Ramirez: Below average food
Stefan Ruediger: The dishes are missing a bit if flavor
Behzad Raufi: It's was fine, I have cooked better. Nothing authentic but food is affordable and plentiful.
Rasheed Bellamy: Great hidden gem
james mayo: Food was passing. Place looked sketchy at though, haven't had time for any food poisoning to take effect, will update if I get sick.
Jack T. Marlin: Love the atmosphere and food, great lunch stop!
Russ Karlberg: It might not look like much, but the food was very good here. Staff did a good job keeping it clean, and the lunch buffet is quick and only $10.
Dina Shaik: Mr. Currys is easy to walk past without noticing it, but make SURE you find it!! They serve delicious, authentic South Indian food; buffet style. Everything is excellent but the bhatura and masala chai are the best you will find anywhere! Wonderful employees and the nicest owner you will meet. Be sure to check this place out... it is a rare find!
Md Niamul Islam: Awesome foods with low prices, and a lot of items
Alan Brown: Great lunch buffet. Plenty of offerings. Good spice level. Constantly bringing out fresh servings. Good quality. Self serve due to buffet style. Incredibly well priced. Seating is comfy. Staff friendly and keep it clean.
D Carty (kartogis): delicious food and you pay AFTER eating. buffet ($10 cash or $11 credit) includes over 12 choices, lots of vegetarian options, unlimited! Mango Lessi, Indian Chai, and 2 dessert options; plus all the different toppings. yum!!! Wish they had longer hours of operation.
Lisa Gendron: Delicious and authentic Indian food made from scratch! The best!
Ruth Dolin: Found this place entirely by accident while I was lost near my hotel, and it was a truly lovely surprise!!

Paulo Nascimento: The best Brazilian restaurant in the region!…The real Brazil culinary!…Recommended dishes House Salad, Peixada, Filet Dom Pedro …More
Daniel B.: I’m sad to change my rating but quality and portion size have really taken a nose dive. I see this more as an appeal to improve than condemnation. I’ll try again in a few months and see what’s what.
Neci Green: I visited this establishment recently and it was our first time. My friend and I were going to the Fox to see a show at 7:30. There were only 2 tables in the restaurant when we arrived. One that left shortly after we arrived. The other was on the patio. I loved the decor! It was so cute! We had reservations for 5:30 but arrived 10-15 minutes late. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and very nice. The food was amazing. I ordered the Filet Dom Pedro. The only thing that was a negative was how long the food took. We ordered our food a little after 6, 6:08 to be exact and we didn’t get our food until around 6:47. Also my food was just warm and the sauce on my steak was a little cold almost but it was delicious. I just wish it was hot. My alcoholic drink was yummy. It was a like drink with fresh lime juice and Brazilian rum. So we had to rush and eat and pay and leave so we could make it to the Fox for our show. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would visit again and plan extra time just in case food takes a long time.
Rev Dr Valori Mulvey Sherer: We loved the Sunday dinner buffet. The food was amazing - all of it. The meats, sliced and served at the table, were unique and delicious, and the desserts were unbelievably good. The staff were so friendly, caring, and efficient. Highly recommend!
Jessica Wiley: Well folks, Rocky did it again & surprised me with a new spot for EXCELLENT customer service, AMAZING food & atmosphere! Seriously, if you're down for a one of a kind ambiance featuring entrees cooked directly by George(the Owner & sooo hospitable frfr)& not to mention our Server, Garry who blew our minds btw-not only did he make my pallet dance simply by describing EVERY SINGLE MENU ITEM, including specials without writing it down ! There was so much to choose from, but after watching the hubby smash some homemade pork ribs it only made sense to try the beef ribs, a chicken & mussels (I've NEVER tasted anything like this before y'all )...hubby got the crab stuffed salmon which came with collard greens and cabbage and these drinks were strong AF😂😂!!! Look, go take a friend or go by urself cuz I'm tryna become a regular lolbvs
Jian Apiolaza: I am big fan of brazilian food. This place was great! The drinks were delicious! I recommend the batilda mango! The food was delicious with great portion size. The staff awesome attitude and seem to really enjoy working. The owner came over at the end of the meal to make sure we enjoyed our food and service.

MG: I love this restaurant every time I dine in or order takeout . Everything is so flavorful and delicious. Heard they’re not doing dine in anymore but it’s okay since the portions are so reasonable for to go as well. Never had bad experiences and hoping same for future 😃😃
Sherita Boursh: Waiter was rude
Brendan Burke: Great food. Friendly staff answered all questions. Worth the wait for this amazing food.
Tanisha Joshi: food is grossly overpriced compared to quality. curries are made with little to no authenticity and have added artificial dyes for coloring to compensate for it. raita barely passes for raita. its indian food packaged for white ppl
Amber Kresha: We did not get a chance to try this place. When we walked in for lunch all of the chairs were turned up and a very nice woman let us know that they do carry out only. Unfortunately we were not from the area so we had to eat elsewhere.

After trying five or 6 different spots we stumbled upon Rasoi’s. They are only take out, but completely worth it in my opinion. Great casual takeout with a lot of flavor.Ordered Samosa’s, chicken Makhani, and cheesy garlic naan.
Sarah Hainline: Our go-to Indian place. Their food is always delicious, and ready on time. Only takeout since Covid, but hasn’t affected the quality of the food.Recommended dishes Palak Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala …More
Varun Gupta: I wish they had dine in option. We used to go there often because Indian food is meant to be eaten fresh, take out does not offer you that freshness. Since, they don’t have dine in now we ended up exploring more Indian options in the county. We will definitely go back once they have dine in option available again.
Andres Pedraza: By far the best chicken Tikka masala I've ever had in town. Great flavor

Joy Luck Chinese Buffet: what do users think?
Gabe Johnson: I love Joy Luck. The Coconut shrimp is literally my favorite food.
jazzyinmay: Horrible! I WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS. Everything needed to be updated—nothing was inviting about this place walking in. Even the plates were stained. Food was NOT fresh, looked like it had been sitting ALL day & my family & I went around 7:30pm. Not much was that tasty. Boiled shrimp wasn't cleaned. The only thing that looked somewhat decent/fresh was the fruit & dessert. As I attempted to sift through my plate to see what WAS edible, I found a maggot in my broccoli!!! This was my first time coming here & was a recommendation from my cousin who'd been here years ago, horrible impression! The workers were sort of helpful, which is why I gave 3 stars instead of one. Got drinks wrong but corrected them, refunded the whole table after I saw the bug, but I'd never come here again & would never recommend this place!!!

Brianna Adams: The most honest review you will find.Hot pot was $26.99per person. We drove 2 1/2 hours because we were craving hot pot and this was the closest. The food was okay I enjoyed the lamb a lot and the others in my group really liked the beef. The soups were extremely flavorful and my 2 year old had plenty she could eat at the buffet. The quality of meat wasn’t bad but did have a lot of fat. The vegetables were not good and the shrimp still have the head which is just good to note if you’re like me and find it gross. They didn’t have a lot in terms of selection and the staff weren’t very attentive so we had to wait between rounds. Overall if you’re in the area and you are wanting to try it absolutely go for it but if you have to drive I would consider waiting.

Kasey Mitchell: Wow. Wow. Wow. I literally have nothing else to say. This place is absolutely incredible. First time in today & the food did NOT disappoint. Staff are super friendly & walked us through the menu. I built my own wrap with the rice paper, stir fried glass noodles, and chicken and it was sooooo so good. The side stir fried veggies were a little bland/oily but honestly when my burrito finally burst at the bottom, I just mixed everything together and it was great. & the dumplings omg 😮‍💨 Will definitely be coming back.

Jenna Johnston: Lona's is one our favorite casual dinner spots in StL! My go-to is the big thai chicken wrap , and my husband loves the steak wrap. We also love the spicy cucumber salad and the egg plant. And the steak dumplings??? Come on! They are too good. The dumplings do not have a typical thin, wanton wrapper for the skin. It's much thicker and doughier in the best way possible and perfectly seared on the bottom so they have a slight crunch. It's hard to come by a a meal this good for two adults for under $40. The wraps are hefty and very filling, and everything you order is bursting with flavor! As long as we live in Stl, we'll be loyal lona's customers. Long Live Lona!!!
dennis fleming: What a fun place! My friends and I are seasoned in the art of "doing lunch". Lona's is our latest "find". One marked in the "eagerly waiting to return" column.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Jody Groff: Great food, wonderful staff, super cool space. First thing we were asked was if we had any restrictions! Which I do, so I appreciate that they then went over what I could and couldn’t have.Love a place that cares so much about its patrons!
noah palicia: Hidden gem in the city! If you are looking for fresh food at a fair price with incredible flavor and a wonderful atmosphere, Lona’s is the place be. Ordered the lemongrass turkey…is was a rice paper burrito with a perfect amount of spice.

PG P: The Compton neighborhood is quite lovely. Nice outdoor seating on a quiet neighborhood street. The staff is lovely and super patient, not just with us but other new customers as well. The food is southeast Asian based, "simple" and delicious. We ordered the chicken glass noodle with peanut sauce and another two but with tofu and lemongrass sauce. Everyone gobbled it up. The sauteed mustard green, eggplant, spicy noodle, and peanut cabbage salad all were great! Awesome find.

Sherri Mayne: The Fountain on Locust is such a fun place to visit, but over the last couple of years, they, like the rest of the industry, had trouble staffing for crowds. This past Friday, there was NO sign of that. The waiter and host were fantastic. The waiter was attentive and friendly. The host sat me while my friend was parking and remembered my name at the end of our visit. Great visit!
christy spilberg: Our food, drinks, and service were exceptional, even though there was a big crowd.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Soups, Grand Chocolate Martini and Chocolat Framboise …More
Jon LaRue: I have been coming here for over 10 years, whatever magic used to be here is long gone. Seems as if there's 1 or 2 people on tables, 1 person in the kitchen, one host, and the other 3 to 4 employees seem to be doing nothing other than staring at people that need help and chose to do nothing. I waited ~20 mins for a refill of water, 20 mins to order after we sat down, and 20 mins to pay... All while people on staff stared at us. I don't know if it's a case of not my job or what, but 4 years ago I could eat lunch and dessert in 35 mins in and out the door. I have ran past hour on the meter, so dessert ain't happening... But while I wait for someone, anyone to come to the table I can write this review.I applaud how clean the place is it's the cleanest I have seen it, but wowzer operationally whoever is in charge needs to address how things work. I don't think you have to spaghetti diagram the front of the house, but it would show a lot of the operational issues. The food seems to more about looks than it used to be. Most guilty of this is the bruschetta. It looks good on the plate but when it comes to eating it, it doesn't make any sense to serve the bread this way because it's difficult to eat. Again the preparation was clean/meaning not dirty, but... There was nothing of note like there used to be.I won't come back as what used to be The Fountain on Locust feels more like "it used to be The Fountain."

Jaimme Olson: Excellent food! Get the birdseed salad! Easily one of the tastiest salads I’ve ever had. We brought a 4 year old and a 2 year old, and they shared the fancy grilled cheese and loved it!
Keeley Degardin: Had a GREAT time at The Fountain this evening with my family! We took our Mawmaw out to celebrate her 51st wedding anniversary, and our waiter Andrew made sure the evening was absolutely PERFECT! We asked him to take a photo of us all together and he climbed up a LADDER to get the best angle possible. He really went above and beyond and that honestly took this from a 4-star review to a 5-star. Overall the food was good, but what really stood out was the fresh soda and the ice cream. All 6 of us loved everything we got, and we will definitely be going back!(Photos: My wife drinking a Grasshopper Martini, my wife with their World’s Smallest Ice Cream Cone, and the decor in the main room of the restaurant)

Carl P: Went here with my family on a whim simply because it was close to our hotel, and it blew away our expectations. Ben keckler: The dining experience was distasteful. Our server: 1. Did not greet us appropriately. 2. Took 15 minutes to greet us. Talked on her phone, even told us about the conversation she was having with her fiancée. 3. Messed up two of the three salads. 4. Messed up one of the three entrees. 5. Ate food (calamari) from the neighboring table. 6. Made up excuses for her poor service on 5 occasions. AND I could add more but think you get the picture.
Alexander Wade: Pretty good. Pretty nice. Pretty confusing? Hard to tell where the restaurant begins and ends, but that only contributes to the very unique atmosphere. Our server was delightful and our food came very quickly compared to other restaurants of similar size. The food itself was on the higher end of pretty decent. Maybe just a little under the mark compared to the price point, but enjoyable within medium standards. 👍
Kimmee Carter: Absolutely wonderful all around. The service was great, the food was great and the atmosphere was great. Very good for kids and families but you could also have a great date night there. S. T.: First time visiting St Louis so I wanted to go to a historical place to eat. A locals favorite. I wasn't very disappointed but it could have been better. But for the area there aren't many choices. I had the shrimp fettuccine and salad. The shrimp where a nice size not those popcorn shrimp. The sauce was good just a little too thick. Just glad it wasn't water down. I enjoyed the fettuccine. I had a salad with cesar dressing tasted like a homemade version that lack the Cesar taste. It was mainly water down mayo and the lettuce wasn't fresh. Which was very disappointing for an Italian restaurant. The loaf of bread was nice and warm. I finished the dinner off with ice-cream.
Shawn Still: 13 of us and they did a excellent job
Ruchita Vora: Lovely historic place with great prompt service, nice ambiance, and good food. Unfortunately only felt a bit unsafe & slightly rattled walking down the street from a nearby hotel I was staying at (as a first timer to St. Louis coming in solo didn’t know what to expect). So couldn’t very much relax and was in a hurry to get back before dark.Vegetarian options: They have lot of veg options too
Jessica Lagasse: Extremely disappointed. I ordered the chicken fettuccini Alfredo and it tasted like a frozen meal you take out of the microwave. Zero flavor or seasonings, bland, and tasted like water. The salad was drowning in dressing. Our waitress kept forgetting our order and bringing wrong dishes to the table. I’ve had better pasta at the Olive Garden 🤮Will never go backOnly good thing I had at this restaurant was the tap water
Caz Walters: It's a great building. Staff are friendly enough but seem to rush you through your lunch. Didn't understand the 25 minutes wait for the table as they had lots of room. foodiecouple: Food was excellent. Service was horrible. Servers were full of excuses. We never received our bread with our meal. My beverage was brought at the end while we were finishing our ice cream. They were short handed and I get that but they only filled so many tables to accommodate the staffFood: 5/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Very poor customer service won't be back thats for sure!

Vikas Kumar: Known for brunch, this boutique place is a fun to enjoy for any meals. Located in historic chic Lafayette square neighborhood it is housed in old wire factory and one can see interestingly placed artifacts spread inside- old chandeliers, radios, motors etc. The food portion is great and the staff is superb. Our server Abbie was attentive & awesome!! They have free yoga, music and patio is dog friendly. They have specials for everyday beside their regular menu. Great selection of beer, cocktails. tiffany townsend: I went to the Sunday morning brunch. No wait time with a reservation. With the bottomless Mimosas you get 2 hours of a glass of bubbly (J.Roget brut) for $28, we received about 6 glasses in those w hours. The Mimosa and bloody Mary bar is back open. I got the salmon and bagel, it was much better. The breakfast potatoes changed, they weren't good and very burnt/crispy.

The server took my plateI had eaten a fee bites of each side. Not only did he not bring me a replacement for my food, but the manager only took half of the cost of my meal off of the check.I left the restaurant hungry.I will not go back.
