Yoga St Louis: what do users think?
jessrhoward: I have been practicing yoga here for over 1.5 years. I originally found this studio through a Google search, and am so grateful I started going here. This is not a "exercise yoga" class where you just mimic the shapes an instructor is doing at the front of class. This is a class meant to teach you the foundations of the mind/body/breath connection in yoga, the proper form in each asana and how to engage the bones and muscles to practice safely and with intention. The instructor, Bruce, was taught by Iyengar himself. He has a deep knowledge of the body and its mechanics to help each student find relief from pain and learn how they can use Iyengar yoga to improve their health and wellbeing. I highly recommend this studio to anyone completely new to yoga or those wanting to expand their practice.
Karen Wamhoff: I have been studying at Yoga St. Louis for more than fifteen years. Bruce is a highly skilled teacher with advanced knowledge of yoga and physiology. He uses these skills to provide individual attention to students to make yoga safe and accessible no matter their flexibility or skill level. His instruction has been incredibly helpful in dealing with my scoliosis.
Sheri Farber: I have been practicing at Yoga St. Louis for 12 years. Bruce was recommended to me by a friend because I had severe back pain that had left me virtually unable to function. Frankly I was doubtful I’d ever function again but Bruce thought he could help me and convinced me to give it a shot. Bruce is an expert in physiology and can make even the most challenging actions attainable for most people. He understands the body’s compensation mechanisms and how to address issues in a safe way. This was not a miracle cure and took time, and work on my part, but Bruce’s guidance and careful explanations were key to my recovery and to helping me learn to move in safer and more effective ways for my long term health. He is the only person I will let correct/manipulate me when I am having pain. As an added bonus I have learned much about yoga and the importance of the interaction between mind and body to a person’s health and wellness and another way to approach pain and healing. As long as Bruce runs a yoga studio, I will be taking his classes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Genny B: Bruce Roger is a master. He teaches and guides and corrects....doesn't just show poses like most 'gym yoga' classes. Students receive individual attention and improve. Bruce is a rare find.
Stacy Berry: Not only have I practiced yoga with teachers all over the country but I am an experienced yoga teacher. I’ve been practicing with Bruce for about six months. He’s incredible. Not only has he made me a better teacher but I refer my students to him. Anyone who has given him a poor review has likely never actually practiced with him.
J T: I've been going to Yoga St. Louis for four years, I highly recommend it, especially if you have any physical issues: I have scoliosis, and they've shown me several poses that strengthen my back I do at home, it has helped immensely ! Bruce's knowledge and training are incredibly in-depth...FYI Iyengar yoga training is a *lot* longer than typical yoga certifications, including going to India. Yes, some people find Bruce a bit brusque, but IMO it's a reflection of how they teach yoga in India, it's more directive and not so "new age". And it also includes talking about the philosophy behind yoga. Overall the self-awareness and physical benefits I've gotten are amazing, and well worth it!!! Namaste

Yoga Source St. Louis: what do users think?
Shubashree B: Attended their healing yoga and another yoga last week. Instructors are kind and promote good body awareness. Overall a great place to attend regularly.
Ally L: The hot pilates w/ weights is GRUELING. Even the regular hot pilates feels intense because of the heat, which I appreciate because hot pilates classes are way harder to find than hot yoga in the bay.Leroy Thomas's classes for this are the best. He always orders the sets so even relatively easy moves become so strenous at the end. He also takes time to get to know every individual. Some of the yoga teachers are good too. They have a cycling room, a yoga room, and a pilates room as well as a huge merchandise area. They have showers and lockers that they provide a key/lock for if you ask instead of the built-in combination locks. The amenities are pretty low frills but they do have blow dryers.
Francisco Irao: I've been going to YS for 3 years now. They have a great program and their hot pilates classes are amazing. Leroy, Sam, Amy, Annie are great instructors. The music is awesome and I definitely get a great workout. Hot pilates are in the small room is next level as it gets quite warm in there. The community is welcoming and encouraging. Give it a try! They havr trial programs as well.
A P: Most of the places I would go in the peninsula and the south bay have either closed or no longer up to par when they started.Might be biased but this remains to be in my top studios to go to, and for new yogis you will not be dissatisfied for ive been coming here for over a decade. Will continue to come here for more shanti and when in the south bay
Miquela: Not a safe place for BIPOC , or anyone suffering from eating disorders. Very passive aggressive environment.Yes, I use to work here for quite a few years as the only black instructor. I was very familiar with the studio it's values and how they treated people and students behind the scenes.Thankyou for clarifying and gaslighting me Yogasource.
Ling Lin: I had heard of this studio from other yogis, who talked about how beautiful the physical practice space is. I finally made my way there and found an oasis of yoga and spin amenities. They have two yoga rooms, one for heated practice and one for unheated vinyasa and a spin room with Schwinn bikes. It’s worth noting that they do keep the door propped open for a period of time for fresh airflow, so if it’s cold outside, you might be cold in the unheated room. I would imagine that it feels amazing in the summer, but I was a bit chilly when I went to Linda Schlamadinger’s 75-minute vinyasa class. The class started off with some really great guided myofascial release with a tune-up ball and the sequence of the flow was well thought-out and interesting, although I would say it’s pretty accessible and easy. While this studio is in Santa Clara county, they allow you to take your masks off when you are on the yoga mat practicing. In fact, most of the students, and the teacher did not have their masks on when they were on their yoga mat (they only put them on when they moved around the studio.) I personally do not like wearing my mask at all when I’m working out so it was a relief to me that the studio operated this way, because as of February 2022, Santa Clara still had an indoor mask mandate. At the same time, the studio is spaced out enough that I didn’t feel like I was pushed up against anyone–I thought they did a great job keeping the studio available to yogis while maintaining the right level of covid safety precautions. If I didn’t live so far away, I would definitely give their 3-weeks new-student special for $59 a try.Pros1.) Showers, spacious, bright, airy, and welcoming feel2.) Lots of free parking in their garage3.) Felt like a community, people said hi to me and made eye contact, and I could see that the regulars were chatting and connecting before and after classCons1.) For me personally, I didn’t find that the classes were challenging or advanced enough to warrant me going regularly, but I have been practicing regularly for nearly 15 years
Lisa Moffatt: A very nice yoga studio. I'm trying the 3-week promo and have been to two different classes. So far, I like it.
Jose Siq: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityFirst time doing Hot Yoga and it was a pleasant experience. Good Teacher and Great Class. The Staff is very kind and attentive. Definitely going back.
Megan Michelle: Critical:Professionalism,Quality
Tammy Shalev: Great experience !
Lisa Scaduto: I really love the studio especially Nikki she is absolutely amazing and so passionate about what she does you can really feel it when she is instructing. I think it’s also really great that they have good parking in the studio itself is really beautifully decorated and feels like you’re in the right environment
Traditions TLC: Nikki Smithson is not a monk or running a montessori and I'm not a child who needs to be embarrassed in front of the class by a mediocre yoga teacher who uses her position to bully students. I think Nikki knows someone who has been using her friends to make me feel bad every where I go. The first class I took from Nikki, she stood in my reflection so I couldn't see myself in the mirror for the entire class, just to try to annoy me. Then at her next class where I waited to enter when I was supposed to, I went to the very back of the room and sat next to the straps just in case I needed it. I'm working on my splits because I'm training to be an exotic dancer and so everyone in the studio knows because I pulled everyone aside to let them know I will be in splits instead of child's pose during sequence but still staying with the class. I was deep in my meditation and was still meditating as I very quietly got a strap, when Nikki started a discussion at least 4 feet away from me. She was whispering and I could not hear her, she got in my face and said "you are disrespecting the class and you need to just stay there". I was really confused and my meditation was disrupted because of her interrupting the class not me. Her face expressed anger and it triggered me so bad I had to leave the studio for the whole day skipping my workout entirely. I drive all the way to this studio because it's worth it. All the other teachers and staff are really supportive of me which is why I go there, but this Nikki must have heard something and needs to feel better by joining in gang activity to keep hurting my feelings even if I'm at yoga. I really love this place and understand sometimes a bad yoga teacher can ruin the whole vibe as Nikki has been doing every chance she can slyly get away with it. I'm so sick of being bullied by mean girls in the Bay Area just because I was a nanny for a group of women for 20 years who whored me out behind my back illigally but since their rich and own law firms, they get away with it. I would rather be a stripper with managers who are legally allowed to sell my body for dance jobs, then to continue to have my past employers Carolyn C. Chaikovsky and Lina K. Parness to keep sending men to sleep with me behind my back and tricking me into thinking they were real relationships. These two past employers used my service for up to 20 years but now they "don't like me" anymore and FOR NO REASON. All I did was be their nanny for 2 decades.I keep complaining about any unusual behavior I experience everywhere I go because these two past employers send people to harrassing me by stalking my every move and then ruining all my chances to exceed because they are that mean.
Derek Samuelson: If you're looking for an intense sweat sesh, pop in for the hot pilates class. You will not be disappointed.
Mary Cozean: Yoga Source Los Gatos is a spacious studio with many different programs. There are a variety of yoga classes from gentle to challenging and heated. They also have high-energy cycling classes and Pilates. I like that there are lots of options for class times that can fit into your busy schedule unlike other studios in the area. The Vinyasa (non-heated) classes are my favorite especially the candlelight one. The one thing I would change for the Vinyasa classes would be the music. I prefer practicing to true yoga music rather than the pop music most teachers play. There are different class packages and prices available to choose from. I’ve enjoyed practicing yoga here since Aug. 2016. Yoga Source has a nice little shop with mats, towels, clothing and jewelry. Each class you attend earns points that you can use toward purchases or to bring a friend for free.
V B: They've a donation based Mediation class where "teacher" is a white, middle aged woman with short gray hair. She's a nasty, super racist person. I am an Indian and when I attended her class, she looked at me with hate for the entire duration of the class, attacked Hindu religion and sages. She doesn't have any idea what meditation is. According to their manager/owner, they are promoting Buddhism. So it's not a meditation class.
Jess Butler: I am surprised there are not more raving reviews! This place is AMAZING! I attended a Power Vinyasa course lead by Brea and Flo. WOW! These 2 keep you on your toes and really challenge you with every position. Your Yoga practice no longer pushing you to your goals? Take this course!!! Thanks team for a great experience and cannot wait until I can attend again!!!
Dina DDOR: Great yoga studio, awesome people!
Tatyana Belyavskaya: I started to visit YogaSource more than 6 years ago. I am very happy with teachers, their attitude & the positive influence on my mood & health.
Veronica Felix: At the front desk, by mistake my friend (guest from out of town) took a phone from a teacher and put it in her backpack, then we went to class.Stacey, rather than solving the misunderstanding (phone was very similar) went into my friend's backpack, called the police and accused her of "trying" to steal. I have been a member for many years, after this embarrassment, I had to cancel my membership. We spoke with the police who also agreed that clearly was a misunderstanding.
Braden Groom: Worst parking lot. Best bikram classes and flow
Matthew Heck: Expensive as yoga is these days in the valley. Very nice appointed studio. Very nice instructors.

YogaSix: what do users think?
Giancarlo Andreoli: Posto fantastico. La lezione di Hot Yoga è stata veramente bella, il posto è pulitissimo e il personale veramente gentile.TOP!!
Nick Thompson: Received an offer to do 4 classes for $53.00. I unfortunately didn’t read the fine print and it was a subscription. I was charged $212.00 dollars on top of the $53 I paid initially by the time I noticed. They made it quite difficult to cancel. Unable to cancel online on your account, and can’t be done by calling the location. The studios number is the only one available and someone is not there always during business hours so it took a while for me to get someone. I didn’t find out until I got someone at the location I needed to email someone named Oliva Davis. My experience with Olivia was not a good one. Come to find there’s an 30 day cancellation “notice” that must be given, so they don’t even close your account immediately when you finally find the right person. I went to 1 class the first month, that I didn’t like and never went back, but there was no consideration for a refund of the 2 additional payments of $106.00 a piece for services I obviously didn’t use as I didn’t know I paid for them and didn’t even want use the 3 remaining classes of my 4 I paid $53 for. I actually called the day the of the second charge before I would have even had a chance to use the services for that month and Olivia still wouldn’t even refund that $106.00 payment. Had to dispute with my card company. I kept getting payment due notifications until I called the studio again and got a general manager’s number, who showed a little bit of decency and understanding, given I went to 1 class and was charged nearly $300.00 and helped bring my account to $0 owed. Please be informed this business makes for a tough breakup.
Michelle De Villar: Live it and love it
Kiara Lewis: YogaSix is awesome! They have a unique way of making everyone feel empowered. Really enjoyed my class today.
Kaitlyn Sprague: St. Louis is not Manhattan.. there is absolutely no reason why so many yoga students are packed into a tiny room. The designated mat spaces are literally six inches apart from each other. As soon as I realized I would not be able to freely move and twist my body, I wanted to run for the exit, but couldn’t without stepping on other people. Nothing “restorative” about it.Other things I guess I’ve been taking for granted at other studios that YogaSix lacks:-any kind of welcome to your first class or rundown by the front desk or instructor-pose demonstrations, corrections, or modifications (instructor just sat down and called out poses)-a cell phone free zoneThis must just be for people that don’t live in St. Louis and don’t know that there are way better local options for a fraction of the price.
Derek Thomas: Their best instructors are superb, and I would’ve stayed if they taught more frequently, but it’s the other instructors that ruined my experience. One instructor sat down with her back on the wall the entire class, giving disjointed instructions while drinking Starbucks. Another could not do 80% of the movements she called out and the pace suffered as a result.
H A: I tried the hot yoga for the first time at this place. Yoga instructor seemed nice. It felt great afterwards. It was hard at first to concentrate due to the fast tempo music. Honestly, the music played that day doesn’t go well with the yoga. Prefer slower music to help with focusing, being more mindful and actually hearing the instructor.
Elise Skulte: Yoga 6 is amazing! All the structors are super nice and you can really get a lot out of the hot yoga classes even if you put in minimal effort because the rooms are hot! 🔥
lilly Simon: Critical:Communication,Professionalism
Genny B: So called instructor Danielle SITS for the entire class, speaks out ' posses' and is looking at her cell phone and not the students. ..she does not give corrections, and does not and cannot even demonstrate postures. Why not just put a recording at the front of the studio? Students are at risk for injury in her class. .. a LETHARGICOBESE instructor is NOT a good roll model. HOW can a supposidrly reputable studio charge for and allow this instructor to teach for them? Management only wants your money.
Lynne Hart: Great class friendly people. It was my first time back in a long time oh, I've got a long way to go.
Aaron shavers: Priceless
Jamie Byergo: Love this yoga studio, especially the hot classes!
Mark Schoon: Great place! I have been coming here for three years and find that it is both a good place for beginners of all ages, and at the same time changeling to people who have been practicing yoga for years. The people at the front desk make an effort to get to know you, and the teachers are great about giving extra guidance.
Teresa Catlow: Positive:QualityLove the heated classes! Wonderful teachers and atmosphere!
Stephanie Burkemper: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Andrea Schmid: I’m not totally new to yoga but hadn’t been to a class in well over a year due to the pandemic and living abroad. This studio made me feel comfortable and supported as I transitioned into classes again post lock down. They offer a variety of class styles and once you find a rhythm, the classes stay consistent in terms of level. This consistency means I never have to worry about trying a new class or feeling inadequate since I know what to expect. The instructors and other class goers are open, focused and caring. I never worry about if I’m good enough and anyone near by can help answer questions for me. The spaces are super clean and the team is respectful of any last minute changes due to concerns about the pandemic or emergencies for cancellations. I love my new yoga home!
Alex L: This studio is awesome! Great class variety, awesome space & amazing instructors!! I switched from another studio that I practiced at for 6 years & this was the change my practice needed!
felicia r: I love the studio spaces, love the variety of classes Yoga 6 offers and the teachers are friendly and knowledgeable.
c s: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityYogaSix St. Louis is my home studio. The teachers are unique and excellent, the studio is clean, the rooms get hot, and the community is good. The monthly challenges help get you out of your routine. Hopefully they start offering hot remixes with music and sound baths soon! I typically have to drive to Des Peres for those.
Brennan Kolbo: Positive:Professionalism,QualityThe instructors are all very welcoming and know how to challenge their students in just the right ways!

Practicing Yoga Studio: what do users think?
Michel Pasman: Practicing Yoga Studio made me feel welcome from the start and since then it has become a home far away from home. I love "Yoga Flow" on Tuesday's, powerful flow for body and mind! Erin is a great teacher who not only inspires with her poses, but also by sharing interesting quotes while reflecting on yoga and the current times. Highly recommended!
Jessica Boston: It has long been recommended to me to take classes here. I’m in my second trimester of my first pregnancy and, knowing how good yoga is for baby, labor and recovery, I started taking Saturday morning Slow Flow with Cindy. It’s the perfect pace for me as I adjust my movements around a growing belly but I still feel stronger and more flexible at the end of class. Cindy is an amazing instructor- she provided modifications for me, was encouraging, warm and energetic (but not to the point of being exhausting- if you’ve worked out to any Jillian Michaels videos, you know what I mean!). The space itself was bright with natural light, super clean and had a very “community” feel to it. Highly recommend to anyone, whether just starting yoga or a seasoned yogi.
Stephanie Herndon: Practicing Yoga: Come for the amazing yoga training, stay for the big heart! This place is more than a yoga studio; you will walk in and feel at home and welcome in this warm space. The instructors here are the best in St. Louis, and they are dedicated to each student having a positive experience in their yoga practice, whether it's your first time (they are especially wonderful for newbies!) or if you already have a strong yoga practice.Classes are challenging but filled with fun and play. This is a place you can come and just be exactly where you are.
Heather King: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityBrianna is an amazing teacher! Never disappointed in a class here.
Katie O'Donnell: The best yoga studio in St. Louis! Wonderful teachers and such a supportive environment. Plus, having an online option is awesome during quarantine...feels just like you are there!
Sheila Nadworny: Great Teachers! Wonderful Community! This is just a really really GOOD Yoga studio!!
Dorota O: The place to be. In good, in bad moments & anything between... ♥ PY!
Emily Heart: Joyous, supportive, safe space. Love to practice and grow here!
Clayton LeBeau: They love yoga. And they love you. Makes it a blissful experience
