kim milberg: I have been a patient of Washington University doctors for two decades. While they are known for having a good reputation and being extraordinarily knowledgeable, in my opinion, they are not as good as they used to be. They are a teaching hospital first and foremost so if you are a patient be prepared to have medical students interns and residents, do a lot of the work with you. If this bothers you, you might want to consider going to a private hospital. Personally. I’d say about 2/3 of the time by the time, the resident who examines me before my actual attending doctor, comes in finishes talking to me I am ready to get my purse and leave. But, as with anywhere else, some doctors are good or not. For example, I went to the head of dermatology about a year ago., Though, and the resident was fantastic, but the head of the department himself was not good. Despite appearing very arrogant, he misdiagnosed me. I was very glad. I listened to my heart and didn’t take the medicine that he prescribed, and because of it today I am fine, no, thanks to him.
